I've wanted to come here for years.
Figured my 30th birthday was a perfect time to come. This restaurant is beautiful and elegant. The servers were professional and the food was fabulous. We ordered two different salads, the sampler plate, a carbonara and the lemon gelato. On top of these they serve bruschetta, bread, and drinking chocolate with biscotti. It's been a month and I'm still dreaming about each dish. Show up starving because you will definitely walk out feeling overly full.

My husband and I went for a date night a week ago and was a disappointing experience/meal. We made a reservation and were sat 15min later with little explanation or apologies. Our meal was rushed and robotic in regard to service. We ordered two antipastos (Caprese and a Fish special) and the special had swordfish that had gone bad. The portions were very small for the price point and were very disappointing. For our entree we ordered the Surf + Turf Special for $85 and we received a small overcooked steak (we asked for medium rare) and ONE scallop. The beef was extremely disappointing and the scallop was prepared well but for the price point I am shocked. I hate to leave a bad review however having worked in hospitality my whole life I feel the feedback is needed and I would hate for someone to spend this much money on a very lackluster meal - especially in this economy!

Some of the best food that I have ever had! The ravioli and gnocchi were delicious. I had the best Eggplant Parmesan that I've ever tasted. And dessert was a medley of lemon sorbet with local honey and sea salt - simple yet emphasizing each of those in an excellent combination. To top it off we had biscotti in liquid hot chocolate. The service was top notch.

Visiting a good buddy in Salt Lake City, it had been a few years, he recommended Valter's Osteria as the finest restaurant in town, and he was correct! The cuisine was excellent Italian fare. Along with drinks and appetizers, for main courses we had the "Pasta al Forna Vera" homemade lasagna, and "Nana In Porchetta Savinese" crusted duck breast in cognac and grape sauce. (Pictured Below) The dishes were amazing, as was the feel and ambiance of the restaurant, but what really stood out was the service. Easily on par with any of the finest restaurants I've been to. The attention to detail was evident in the greetings from the Valet outside to the Maitre D'. Timing was impeccable, from when the table was touched, to each drink and course coming out. It was an incredible dining experience, and if I'm ever in Salt Lake City again, will look forward to another dinner service.

Super fresh with shaved zucchini on top, followed by asparagus ravioli w a cream sauce & a rigatoni w meat sauce. The perfect balance. The dipping sauce for the bread was to die for. Garlicky, lemony. My mouth is still watering. The staff was very attentive, professional but also friendly. The flowers on the table were stunning. Just an all around a beautiful experience. Next time I'd dress up a bit more.

We heard about this place from visiting with a hiker on a random trail and boy were we glad we listened. I give this place a 10 out of 10!!! Brenda was our waitress. She was so awesome. The Cesar salad was fresh and delicious , made right in front of us. The pasta sampler was out of this world. The butternut squash and limoncello angel hair pasta was my fav. But,,, the best part of the meal was the lemon honey gelato. I've been to Italy and this tops the cake.

Absolutely, amazing! It was my first time to Valter's Osteria, but, certainly not my last. I had the pleasure of dining with a friend who comes here quite frequently. We started with an amazing Caesar salad prepared table-side with an amazing dressing drizzled on top and plated on a juicy sliced tomato. The next course was a light and delicate pasta with cream sauce and fresh shaved black truffle on top; simply fantastic. For my main entree, I chose halibut that was prepared in a saffron broth and plated with freshly cooked spinach. The fish was tender, flaky and the saffron sauce was perfect. Dessert included chocolate chip and lemon biscotti served with hot chocolate, which is essentially liquid hot fudge. To a dessert aficionado like me, this was right up my alley. I also chose the gelato layered on top of tiramisu in a martini glass - perfection! Service was attentive, friendly and dedicated to ensuring we had an excellent experience.

We brought some out of state visitors here expecting the same experience we had come to expect over many years and left very disappointed. What happened!? The only good part of the meal was the wine selection and the ravioli sampler. Who on earth makes cacio e pepe with gorgonzola!? If that reluctant first and only bite was an indicator, the servers reaction to my concern sealed the deal. This is not the Valter's of yore and certainly not worth the $$$$.
Amazing dinner
Good, service, ambiance and price are the best combination ever, we had the best meal in our second visit. Arturo and all his staff are amazing and everything is perfectly taken care of at all times. A pleasure to go out to this restaurant.

We were in town for a conference, and I found the original owner’s picture endearing in my restaurant search. We assumed the restaurant was an authentic casual place, but when we showed up, we felt underdressed. I told my friend that it didn’t really matter, if this is truly a good restaurant, the service will be great. It was! Our server was kind and open to recommending what suited our needs best. We ended up sharing the pasta sampler and finishing with the lemon gelato and tiramisu. Everything was excellent, from the bruschetta at the start to the biscotti and drinkable chocolate at the end, all of which were complementary. This establishment is superb!

Got there right at 5:30 scored a seat at the bar Eduardo was on duty he puts on quite the show making drinks and providing excellent customer service. Luis took my order and started off with outstanding bruschetta the tomatoes are so fresh and flavorful then comes the house made bread with the anchovy and garlic sauce pour lots of it on there. Then came the house made pasta with the meat sauce unbelievable. The wine by the glass selection is unparalleled. Unmatched anywhere that I travel!

It was delicious but I felt like it was overpriced. The homemade bread was delicious and they offered hot chocolate after the meal too. However the hot coco was sooo thick I felt like I was drinking brownie mix.

Impeccable service, and our dinners were wonderful! I loved the traditional atmosphere and forgot to purchase a cookbook. A definite second visit when we are back in SLC.

Had a wonderful meal for our daughters 23rd birthday. Seated right away on a beautiful table with white linens and roses. Everything was spot on and service was outstanding. Worth the drive if your not in SLC.

Lee is the bar tender (she's from Chicago area. So are we) she was killin it alone bar tending for the whole restaurant. We just sat at the bar because we didn't have a reservation. We ate a pasta sampler for appetizer. So delicious. Each so different and the flavors were magnificent. They give you a piece of bruschetta & bread with a very unique dip. I could have just sat there and ate only that all night The bruschetta was excellent. The bread dip was an olive oil, white bean, garlic and a touch of anchovy. Not sure what else but soooo delicious. You must get the lemon gelato dessert with sea salt and local honey. Just take a bath in it! So good. Everything was fantastic. The staff were wonderful. It is pricey but it needs to be. All high quality ingredients and the chef is incredible with the combination of flavors. I have a very sensitive stomach, (TMI) No problems. Highly recommend Valter's

waited for over an hour and a half with a reservation. food was ice cold for all five of us. waited another hour for our check even after asking our server and the hostess for our check...again. to top it off it was a birthday dinner. also can i just add that the food was beyond subpar. id rather eat at mcdonald's

Luigi from New York was fantastic as a waiter and made excellent suggestions on what to share and what we should order with a group of 8 people. The restaurant is crowded but you are not being bumped like in some locations. Everyone one of the people enjoyed the food and will come back again.

This last Saturday Service was slow, it was disorganized, our server was frustrated with his help and especially the bartender. Some people had to wait 15 minutes to get their drinks. They have raised their prices considerably. BTW, authentic carbonara does not use cream.

Last evening I had the pleasure to be a patron with a few close friends at Valter's Osteria in Salt Lake . After a brisk walk in the Salt Lake air we were graciously greeted by the hosts and promptly seated. I was immediately impressed with the ambiance and pleasing aromas the filled the air and immediately teased my taste buds. Then Gustavo our server introduced himself and promptly brought over a plate bruschetta smothered with perfectly ripened tomato's. Delicious but no pic we ate it to fast, ok I did . . Then the night got kicked up a notch with a terrific bottle of vino ..later becoming Bottles .....of 2020 Antinori Tignanello. It turns out this was a perfect compliment to our dinners. So yes , more is better. We were all hungry so we ordered right away after a detailed description of the nights specials by Gustavo, not once but twice. I think we wanted to test him and see how well he memorized the list ... he passed . I personally couldn't resist ordering the mushroom gnocchi that was highly recommended. The flavors, texture and combination of seasonings in the sauce just danced on my taste buds and was even better then expected. I highly recommend sharing this with friends as gnocchi is so filling and this needs to enjoyed by all . For my main course I couldn't resist my old go to in a traditional old school first class Italian restaurant like Valters Osteria. So I couldn't bypass the temptation of eggplant parmesan. The four medallions were perfectly prepared, not under or overcooked which frequently is an issue when ordering eggplant. They were served in a literal pool of sweet, puréed mouth watering tomato sauce . If it wouldn't of been rude and inappropriate I would have drank the remainder left after finishing my meal, and probably saved a few drops on my white shirt ... that would have accompanied the gnocchi mushroom sauce for later. Then Gustavo brought out a plate of biscotti with a absolutely divine cup of chocolate dipping sauce. To finish Gustavo recommended a tasty port to close out my amazing meal. But that wasn't enough our friend Jim celebrated his 43rd birthday with us and all the severs gathering for a nice happy birthday celebration, and a glass of homemade gelato that was simply off the charts . So no better way to spend a memorable evening than with good friends, eating outstanding Italian cuisine , sharing conversation, fine wine and Gustavo bundling it all together making for a wonderful dinning experience. A must go place to dine while Salt Lake Until next time ......,

This was the best Italian meal since being in Italy. The ravioli was to die for, the service was impeccable, the dessert was heavenly. This is a must of you are in salt lake city. Absolutely wonderful

Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!

Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.

Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
