Rich Table San Francisco Reviews from The Last Year
Had such an amazing experience at Rich Table! My friend
Had such an amazing experience at Rich Table! My friend made a dinner reservation for 4 a month in advance to secure us a table. We got 4 appetizers - burrata, toro toast x2, beef dumplings, and the porcini donuts. The toro toast was my favorite! For the entrees, we got the sea urchin pasta, fried rice, and ribeye. The sea urchin pasta was so good! Fried rice had so much flavor and the texture was amazing. It had some crunch to it from some of the crispy rice pieces. The ribeye was cooked perfectly and paired so well with the chile lime corn. We ordered the honey cornbread with vanilla ice cream for dessert and it tasted so light and refreshing for a cornbread! Not dry at all. My friend also got a bday dessert treat! It was mint ice cream with a brownie chip - also so good. Overall loved the ambience of this restaurant - it felt like we were being hosted in someone's home bc of how home-y it felt in there! We also loved the open kitchen concept and watching the chefs do their thing! The servers were also amazing in helping us navigate their menu and choose what dishes to order. We finished everything and felt so satisfied at the end! Everything was so delicately made and you could really tell in each and every dish we got that it was made with high quality ingredients and intricacy from the chefs! I'd definitely recommend to friends!
Excellent.
The only dish that was meh was the truffle pasta. The porcini donuts were the bomb! Amazing flavor on the oysters, very refreshing. The duck pasta was very delicious with a good combo of textures, the pasta is unique as well, reminding me of a Chinese dish my mother used to make.
Rich table definitely met my expectations and more! I made
Rich table definitely met my expectations and more! I made a reservation a month in advance since reservations can be hard to get for a good dinner time! We also got perfect parking right in front of the restaurant as well. The restaurant is also very homey like and i love that they have an open kitchen concept so we can watch the chefs cook! I would like to first start off by saying we ordered for four and we finished everything and left very satisfied and full! Every dish we had we enjoyed. With every bite you can tell everything was created with seasonal items and very fresh ingredients as well! Everything also paired very well together! For appetizers we ordered the burrata, dumplings, doughnuts (tasted so good with the dip and the texture tasted like a brazilian cheese bread!), and the blue tuna toro toast! For mains, we ordered the sea urchin pasta (i love uni), the rib eye steak, and fried rice. The ribeye steak was fantastic because all the ingredients paired so well together and I have never had steak with sweet corn and on top was citrusy but tasted so good all together! The steak was also cooked perfect! For dessert, we ordered the corn bread cake and they gave us a complimentary mint chip dessert. The honey corn bread cake was so delightful and moist and it was amazing!! I'm not a fan of mint chip ice cream but I have to say the dessert with brownie cookies and mint chip chocolate was very refreshing and paired well together! Overall, I would definitely come back and try their new items next time.
Nice experience
We had a great meal here. We had to make a reservation a few weeks in advance, but it was worth the wait. All the appetizers were top-notch. I also really love the pasta that we got. If I went again, I think I would stay away from the mains and just get every single appetizer on the menu lol.
4.5 stars I made an online reservation more than 30 days
4.5 stars I made an online reservation more than 30 days in advance (yes, it's those kind of restaurants) for a Friday night dinner for 2 at 7:15p. This is my second time here and the first time was more than a decade ago. I remember feeling lukewarm about this restaurant on my previous visit but with the consistent positive reviews and difficulty getting a reservation I decided to give it a second try and am so glad I did! We opted for the "chef picks" option for $120 per person which is meant so you can try the majority of the menu with a few off-menu items. If I wasn't impressed after this I can finally put Rich Table out of my mind haha. Well, I was impressed and didn't think the price point was too outrageous given how everything is so expensive nowadays. My favs were: Dried porcini doughnuts raclette (menu staple) Heirloom tomato with RTR Douglas fir ranch and crispy shallots Maguro zuke with pluots, shiso and Borja's avocado purée Plancha fried rice with morels, pole beans and pickled shallots 21 day dry aged rib eye with chili lime creamed corn Desserts were only ok and can't quite remember exactly what we had. Service was excellent throughout with our water always being refilled, cocktails at the ready, and napkins folded whenever we left the table. It is a cozy restaurant and quite packed so a little on the loud side. Me and my hubby would definitely come back as their menu changes throughout the year with a few exceptions. Street parking can be challenging so we opted to park in the performing arts garage nearby (5 min walk to the restaurant). It was a $22 flat rate since there was a show at the SF symphony that day.
Everything went well! We were seated on time Wonderful

Had an early dinner here yesterday and chose to sit on the bar by the window. Opted out of the chefs tasting and decided to do A La Carte. Started with our cocktails Shiso Popular was refreshing and the Garden party was interesting. Our starters came out together- Sardines chips- was unique and very good. I don't eat horse radish but I definitely ate the one they had it was light and good. -Blue fin totro toast (I highly recommend) bread is soft inside with a bit of a crunch on the outside the toro tasted amazing. The oysters were really good never had it with green strawberry and it definitely elevated the taste. The Chawanmushi Corn was packed with flavors. The Doughnuts- fluffy/thick and chewy. It was warm great with the cheese. For mains we ordered The Tonnarelli -Urchin pasta was rich, creamy and flavorful. The Bluefin Tuna Laksa was good. With peanut sauce reminded me of their take of Kare Kare but with fish instead of the bagoong they have sambal which adds a little kick. Overall everything was great! Food packed with flavors and service was great.

I've heard of Rich Table and wanted to finally check it out! My favorite dishes that we ordered were the blue fin toro toast and the fried porcini donut raclettes. The toast had a nice refreshing bite and buttery texture from the Japanese bread. The duck taquito was confusing. The duck inside the taquito tasted good but that sauce on top completely overpowered everything. The duck dish was good as the duck itself was perfectly cooked but I really didn't care for anything around the duck so that was a bummer. The pasta dish was also miss for me. The sauce felt flat. Service was good and had cozy ambiance. Overall, my dinner experience was underwhelming. I think their bites and appetizers are where I may be coming back.
Went on a Saturday night and had a lovely time.
The staff was so nice it really felt like such a great dining experience. Food was great our favorites were the Ribeye and the Tuna Toast. I feel it is a little pricey for what it is but it was overall a great meal and experience.

TLDR: There were some hits and misses for me at Rich Table, but overall it was a nice meal and I'd go back eventually! My favorite items were the porcini doughnuts and little gem salad. I'd personally pass on the sardine chip and their famous tonnarelli pasta in the future. ------ FOOD: 1. Porcini Doughnuts (4.5/5): Think of these as dense doughnut holes but instead of a sugary coating, it's an earthy mushroom / umami flavor. The raclette cheese is SUPER light and airy, so it's a good complement but it doesn't have a strong cheese flavor. These doughnuts come out freshly made. This comes with ~5-6 doughnuts so it's perfect for sharing. 2. Little Gems salad (4/5): This has a really bright tomato-based dressing that we absolutely loved. We also loved the popped grains. We ended up ordering two of these, though this is definitely expensive for what it is. 3. Ribeye (4/5): This is a quite fatty cut of steak which is really tasty but not always what people expect. It almost reminded me more of a pork chop. Still, it was good and the creamed corn was nice too, though a little too sweet given the steak itself already had a lot of flavor. 4. Maguro Zuke (aka Tuna Crudo, 3/5): This was fine. Barely any crudo in this dish though -- a lot of the space was just the thinly sliced fruit. 5. Tonnarelli (3/5): I thought I was going to love this pasta but when I took my first bite I realized that this is extremely al dente (like, if I bent a noodle with my fork it might snap in two) and extremely salty. This is indeed very rich, and you sort of get a fishy aftertaste which reminds you that there's uni in this, but not in the way I think I wanted. Anyway, this is a crowd favorite and what they're known for, so you should try for yourself too! 6. Sardine Chip (2/5): Oh wow, this was a lot to take in. The chip itself was half soggy, which was immediately not a good side. The sardine was fine, it was what I expected. But the combo of the horseradish in the creme fraiche combined with the fishy sardine and the soggy chip just made this not enjoyable at all. ------ SERVICE: * Service was good, everyone was very welcoming and everyone greeted us as we entered and left. Our water was always poured for us, we never felt rushed, and they checked in before our meal to make sure we didn't need to be gone by a certain time. It helped with the pacing a lot. ------ ENVIRONMENT: * This is a pretty casual feeling restaurant despite the prices. It feels like you're in a barn or in the countryside somewhere, which is super cute! * The tables are pretty close together, so you literally have to squeeze between tables and you can hear everything people are talking about * RT is on a beautiful corner of Hayes and right across the street from the highly-rated Loquat bakery * Overall this is a pretty small restaurant so not a place for large gatherings but a cozy setting for a small group or one-on-one
Beautiful, delicious food.
I wander across Rich Table while visiting the city so I had no expectations outside of how good it smelled as I walked by.

Very nice to custumers and when they did get out the food they brought ought very tasty treats aswell.
For a reputable spot that has a unique menu.
..and clearly a vibrant scene...I was surprised by how much this restaurant fell short of expectations. To start: The prix fixe is $110 per person. The waitress told us that it would come with 5 courses...which was true...and that it would be specially catered items from the chef. She refused to tell us the contents of the prix fixe menu. This characterization was a scam...because everything from the prix fixe was literally on the a la carte menu. And moreover, ordering a la carte directly from the menu would have been less than half the price of the prix fixe. There is legitimately no logical reason to order the prix fixe menu. Many of the food portions that came through were actually quite tasty. We liked the cauliflower, the pasta, and some of the appetizers. It was well presented, but we'd be lying if we said the portions were even medium-sized. One other oddity: Even for the prix fixe, the waitress gave us different within our group of 4 (some were vegetarian; some weren't). Even the non-vegetarian people in the party were given vegetarian entrees. When we told her about this, she said that it was intentional and that we are meant to share the dishes. What?! I've never heard of a prix fixe that is supposed to be shared tapas style, and this "rule" was never disclosed to us from the beginning. This is another reason that we viewed the restaurant is alarmingly dishonest in its presentation.

Fantastic service -- every person, especially our waitress, was so kind. Unique cocktails that are not too sweet. Spicy, unique flavors in all the food, combining many different cuisines. Three courses and two drinks each for just $110pp. Went here for my birthday dinner with my boyfriend and LOVED it. My favorite dishes were the porcini dumplings and the deconstructed dumpling pasta, yum. I also recommend the mint dessert (always on the menu, even when it isn't).
I think this place is slightly overrated.
The food was pretty good, but it was very crowded. The service was top tier though - we volunteered to give up our table for an elderly couple and they gave us some free appetizers. I'd probably go back, but I don't think I would suggest it if that makes sense

Had a great experience here last night! The food was amazing and very high quality, and the service was top notch. The waitstaff truly went out of their way to answer any questions and make sure it was a great experience. The dishes were unique and beautifully presented as well. The white asparagus blew my mind. Would definitely come back here again!
Friendly service, delicious food, and great location to
Friendly service, delicious food, and great location to grab dinner before a show. I treated my family to a birthday dinner here before an orchestra performance. Rich Table has some of the best food in the area if you want to have a more luxurious dinner before catching a show. The location is amazing in terms of being able to get to the theaters and venues around the area. We did the Chef Picks where they choose the items you get to try out, plus we added the caviar supplement. For 3 people doing the Chefs Pick and sharing family-style, we got to try out most of the menu. Food that was memorable: + Porcini Donuts. Love these and honestly I'd come here for just their bites menu if I didn't have a reservation. Love the raclette sauce that you dip this in too. They sell the porcini powder at their other restaurant just a few blocks away, RT Rotisserie. + Uni Cacio e Pepe. Favorite savory main to order! I've had seafood pasta in many different forms and this is probably my favorite. The handmade pasta is soft and chewy, with enough bite to stand up to the creamy rich uni. + Desserts were amazing. All 3 we got for Chefs Pick were not to sweet and paired well with their coffee. I loved the super rich, creamy chocolate dessert and the final bites of a white-chocolate covered dalgona-like kit kat. Sadly, I don't remember the name of the desserts but I still think about them. So so good. - Fried rice. Chewy rice that's fried to a crispy perfection. Includes a savory sweet Wycen chinese style sausage. Candidly, this dish was a little on the salty side for me and I had to take breaks eating it to sip water. If you've never had Chinese style sausage, this is a great introduction to the flavor. Personally, I would skip this next time. - I would also personally skip the caviar supplement next time. It's certainly delicious, but I've found that other restaurants give you more caviar for $24. - Vegetarian-wise, this place doesn't give you as much value for what you're spending on Chefs Pick in my opinion. For example, doing the Chefs Pick, I got 2 big fat beef wontons with chili crunch oil. The vegetarian version of this for my family member was a couple artful slices of pear with chili crunch oil for the Chefs Pick. Would recommend that vegetarians purchase a la carte or head over to Rich Table's other spot, RT Rotisserie, to grab their super yummy broccoli wrap. Lots of great pescatarian options though. The restaurant is on the smaller end, pretty cozy. I had to squeeze past the occupied neighboring table to get into my bench seat. However, just some temporary awkwardness before good food!
The food is magnificent, and the service is a match.
The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and attentive
Went last night and had another home run dinner.
Everything we had was sooooo good. Porcini donuts as always, Dungeness crab curry salad which was to die for (last night on the menu) ,burrata with spicy honey yum, sea urchin pasta as always and a hand pulled dumpling duck pasta which blew our minds. Ordered their shaved ice dessert as always and great way to end the meal. Marissa at the bar was lovely as usual! Left super happy with the menu we got to try this evening!

I visited Rich Table for a birthday dinner, and we had a party of 5. Our reservation was pretty late, but that means we got a large private booth near the back of the restaurant. Great ambiance and not super crowded at all. For food, we were debating between going for the prix fixe option vs. just ordering a bunch of a la carte items to share. If you're in a mid to larger group I'd probably recommend just ordering a la carte--I was glad I got to try a lot of different things on the menu. We ordered a LOT of food, so some standouts to me: - dried porcini donuts: These were so good and (I heard) a Rich Table classic! Not too rich, very light, but still really flavorful. - smoked fish whip cannoli with sweet persimmon sauce: If you like strong smoked salmon flavors, you'll like this. Probably my favorite appetizer - plancha fried rice w/ lap cheong and sprouted broccoli - tonnarelli sea urchin 'cacio e pepe': Also a Rich Table classic. Maybe a little lighter on the uni flavor than I was expecting but I wasn't mad at it. Probably good for people who don't normally like the richness of uni. Really enjoyed my time here and would come again!
great chef's choice experience.
came as a table of 3 and we each got different dishes to try and pass around. definitely really liked the appetizer plate with tin fish, crème fraiche, fried dough and more. the aged beef dumpling in chili sauce, Thai Dungeness crab, steak, and panna cotta were also really good. i just wished dishes were a bit bigger to share.
Must try restaurant in San Francisco
As I was researching restaurants to visit while in San Francisco Rich Table kept popping up on different lists, food blogs, and articles, one even naming it one of the best restaurants in the city. So I knew I had to try this place. I had a reservation for 10PM but I got a text a hour before saying I could arrive early if I wanted. When I arrived I was warmly greeted and seated immediately at my spot at the bar by someone who I later learned was the GM/Partner Jonny Gilbert. The bar seat I had turned out to be perfect for me as I had a good view of the kitchen and expo station as well as being able to look out the windows and see some of the things that occur at night on the streets of SF. The bartender and every employee that I came in contact with were very knowledgeable and tuned in to good customer service. I opted for the Chef Picks service so I could try a few different items including the caviar supplement and it turned out to be a great choice. I have to say I loved everything, there might have been 1 or 2 things that didn't leave me wowed or blew my socks off. I can't remember the name of everything that I ate but here are some of the highlights: Dried Porcini Doughnuts w/ Raclette 5/5 & Sardine Chip w/ Horseradish Crème Fraîche 5/5 2 things Rich Table is know for and they definitely lived up to the hype. Did not disappoint. Everything that you heard about it and more! Oyster w/ Aji Amarillo & Gooseberry Mignonette 5/5 I don't know how I'll go back to eating oysters without this. Dungeness Crab, Pomelo, Crab Curry, Spaghetti Squash, Trout Crumble 5/5 but I would rate it higher if I could. Probably the best thing I ate at Rich Table. The presentation is perfect but all those tastes and textures really come together in a way I could never had imagined. Tonnarelli, Sea Urchin, "Cacio e Pepe," Idiazabal 4.5/5 Perfect al dente and creaminess. Yes Italians say don't eat cheese w/ seafood, but this is California dining. 21 Day Dry Aged Ribeye, "A199" Steak Sauce, Twice Baked Potato 5/5 I love steak and if I'm at a steakhouse I order it medium rare, which is a warm RED center and that is exactly how this steak came out of the kitchen. I'm not a steak sauce fan but the "A199" sauce is homemade and I really enjoyed it. Also nowadays I very rarely see twice baked potatoes on a menu but this was good. Then came dessert. I was celebrating my birthday so I was given a Mint Chocolate Sable with Mint Chocolate Cream and Ice Cream. 4.5/5 That was perfect and I would think it couldn't get any better but then I was given an Orange Granita as the end of the Chef Picks and it was amazing. 5/5 I love chocolate and all things chocolate but this was even better than I could have ever expected. I mean the shaved ice with the orange segments and the vanilla ice cream (gelato?). I guess it brings back nostalgia for the creamsicles I used to have as a kid but so much better. Overall a great experience with all of the exceptional food and enhanced by the employees and their friendliness and service along with meeting one of the Chef/Owners Evan Rich and conversing with him and Mr Gilbert about the industry.
Fantastic culinary experience
We went to Rich Table because of a recommendation of our B&B in San Francisco and what can I say? It was one of the most unique dining experience we’ve ever had. First of all, the whole staff was extraordinarily welcoming and nice. We shared a couple dishes together which were all special. My personal favorites were the doughnuts with a creamy, rich sauce: They were very fluffy and incredibly delicious. Also the sweet potato dumplings with kale and miso were superb. For the dessert we tried the chocolate cake with peppermint crumble and the shaved ice. Throughout the dinner we were surprised by all the different flavors and textures of the food - a very rich and special experience. We can only recommend this place and will definitely come again.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!
Worked flawlessly!
Worked so well! I was a bit nervous, but everything went very smoothly. purchased the reservation, and got into the restaurant seamlessly.
Love this app!
So glad I came across this app :)
Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res

Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??
Tune into NBC News - Top Story Tonight 7:40p ET
Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
