Vantre Paris Reviews from The Last Year
Terrible welcome
Never been so poorly received in a restaurant of this standing. The boss is very poorly behaved. There are plenty of other places where people know how to entertain.
TO FLEE !
I would like to express my dissatisfaction following the incident that occurred yesterday during the birthday dinner in your restaurant. During the main course, I discovered a piece of glass in my meal and when I bit into it, I broke a piece of my tooth. Not only did no server apologize for this incident, but the only compensation offered was a free digestive. I am deeply disappointed by the lack of attention and professionalism of your establishment in the face of such a worrying situation. The least thing would have been a "sorry"
HORRIBLE !!!
More than deplorable reception by the boss (who is odious and who shows off). The dishes are good but not very filling. And what's more, he sells wines from the 3rd Reich!!! Supposedly for the historical side!!! What a shame!
Disappointment
The place is absolutely detestable between a cold welcome, rushed service and nothing more than food! Regrets for stopping there by chance! We didn't expect anything and we were still disappointed!
Delicious- Delicious
On the good advice of our friends we had a blast! A unique gazpacho! A finger-biting pigeon & foie gras pie! And the highlight: the wine list! ! ! Whaooooo!! Unheard of! All lovers of small wines or great wines, classified or not, will find what they are looking for here! The prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the plate! We will come back for sure
Succulent!
I discovered this little gastronomic gem between République and Goncourt very late. Lunch menu at 28 euros. starter: roasted cauliflower and sorrel cream. Gourmet and precise. dish: pluma iberica / broad beans / fresh spinach. Canaille as desired and sharp dessert: fig / raw cream / cardamom of course. Gorgeous !!! Everything is well done. The products are fresh and highlighted. The seasoning is sharp and always just right. Taste, taste, taste! Enticing wine list, although a little expensive. Service a bit slow, kitchen was a bit overwhelmed at peak time. Can't wait to go back!!
Scandal in a restaurant
Scandal in a restaurant. Before you think about booking this restaurant, read reviews from previous customers online. The manager says he doesn't care about criticism and comments on the internet. Whether he cares or not, I would like to comment on one. Overall the food was good. The sommelier gave us excellent wine recommendations. Unfortunately the attitude of the service staff and the manager was very unpleasant my experience in this restaurant was very disappointing. We had reserved a place for 6 people, unfortunately one of us was sick and could not come (so, there were 6-1 = 5 people for this meal) and we informed the manager before settling down, and the manager did not say a word about the existence of missing cover (45 euros) I understand that the restaurant is trying to avoid the absence of customers by not coming, but without mentioning any indication in advance to customers, neither material display, nor verbal message; we only learned of this charge (absent cover of 45 euros) on the final bill. If they tell us in advance, I don't see a problem with the price of missing cover and we are ready to pay it . But for these costs to appear on the final bill without us having been warned in advance and having been able to prepare for them, it's incredible! Finally, we asked the police to intervene, but they cannot intervene because they say that it is a commercial dispute and that it is not a police jurisdiction..; Mr. Policeman suggests he do something (for example to give us an extra main course to take away to compensate for the inexplicable 45 euros) but he refuses. I don't recommend this restaurant at all if you want a happy atmosphere:)
A horrible experience
You have to pay for the bread, you have to pay for the carafe of water. We felt ripped off. A disrespectful manager, “I don’t care about the comments on the internet, it’s always busy for lunch and dinner) To flee
Went to the restaurant when visiting France with my family.
We had lunch formula for 26 euro. All the dishes were beautifully presented and very refined with various flavours and ingredients. I loved all the dishes. The restaurant was busy although it was Tuesday lunch. I'd suggest booking a table even for a weekday lunch.

We arrived at 7:25 for a 7:30 reservation, opened the door, and were immediately and unceremoniously ushered out by a young mustachioed man with circular glasses who told us the restaurant was not yet open. Thus began a hipster cosplay so on-the-nose that any veteran of Williamsburg's grislier days would have burst out laughing. The exposed floorboards, the conspicuously risqué prints for sale on the walls, the faux antique light fixtures... I'll save you the rest of the details of the decor, as you can probably fill them in yourself. Two women served as hosts/waitstaff/bussers for the whole place, dashing around like guillotined chickens in their high-waisted jeans and Chuck Taylors. Only trust fund kids their age could afford to eat here. Only people who cared more about fashion than fasciitis would wear flat-as-a-crepe Chuck Taylors through an entire dinner service. Enough said. The meal started promisingly but soon suffered un petit déclin. First came some very good Tuscan charcuterie with crusty bread and a couple of generous wines, then a foamy gazpacho and a creative ikejime tuna tartare whose flavor profiles were too similar. Next came the mains: on one side, an oversmoked guinea fowl (too many Gaulloises?) with an anchovy that it needed as much as the anchovy needed a bicycle; on the other, a faux filet (sirloin) served with accompaniments that could safely have left half their butter in the kitchen, or better yet in the cow. The kitchen, with a chef who looked about fourteen, was clearly trying to reach the peaks of haute gastronomie yet running out of oxygen halfway up. And more than a few of the details one might take for granted at a high-class place were decidedly off. The ham seemed to have been sliced with a knife that wasn't properly cleaned; some of the tuna was as tough as the skin on a tattooed yakuza's back; the guinea fowl's breast was undercooked despite the hard sear on the skin; and the faux filet came with enough gristle to satisfy a large Pomeranian. A certain lack of professionalism tends to get a pass at hipster joints like this one because of the ineffable vibe. But this particular vibe is a decade out of date. Quel dommage, bruh.
