The Capital Grille Orlando Reviews from The Last Year
Food was amazing and so were my guests.
A nice corner table, a c Ellen's service and food. Probably my favorite lobster ever, which I shared with my husband and it was still big enough. Prices seemed above average high~ but I guess it's that way everywhere. Time to get inflation down so we can all go out to eat like a princess's once in a blue moon!
Recently went to the Orlando location on International
Recently went to the Orlando location on International drive on Easter Sunday 2024. Had a reservation at 7 pm for 2 people. Arrive 5 min late and we're sat immediately. Restaurant was not packed slow for a Sunday evening in a holiday. Was greeted by our waitress took our drink order as well as appetizers. We order the oysters. After receiving our appetizer 15 min after ordering we sat for an hour. We're never asked if we wanted another drink. Our waitresses came and provide a glass of champagne and apologized for the wait. We were never told they were behind or how much longer after another 30 minutes we requested a manager and our bill. Still had not received our food. Manager stated we could go and our meal would be taken care of. As I understood this was the right thing to do I was upset on Easter no dinner and no other restaurants around open. The manager came out and tried to justify our late meal plan for an hour and a half maybe more because we were 5 min late. Mind you I ordered a med steak and my mom ordered fish with mashed potato's. A meal that takes 20 min max if they are behind. I went to a 5* restaurant food the food and great experience and this was far from a great experience. If the manager would have left us alone and let us leave I would have not had a problem. But justifying my meal not coming for me being late less than 5 minutes is ridiculous and horrible customer service. I love the capital grill but would never recommend this location!
tables way to close to each other
This place is nice but so extremely crowded that it was enough to really ruin the experience. We did make a reservation, it was not like we just showed up. The sat us at a table right at the entrance, but it was right in the way of staff and guests so we asked to be moved. They moved us to a different table and it was so close to the other table behind us that every time when anyone would walk by they bumped into me . Crazy! To spend $500 in a little bit over an hour and to feel like you cannot even move because you would disturb the people behind you is crazy. I would rather go to Texas Road House.
I have come to this Capitol Grille for the past ehhh 25
I have come to this Capitol Grille for the past ehhh 25 years for an annual trade show. I must say that the two times that I have been here this week have been quite disappointing. The service desperately needs to be addressed. Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy
Good food! Great wines! Great experience! A few misses and not quite perfect for business calls!
Great concept! Staff who almost always deliver! Really good food, classic Steak House as you would expect when you are in the US. Great selection of wines!! Disadvantages? The staff misses some orders which is annoying. In particular, the wine for the starter arrived 10 minutes after we had eaten... It is also very loud so business conversations are challenging.
The place looks cozy and romantic.
We had an early reservation and we were seated right away. The place was like half full but by around 7pm there was no vacant table left. The food was amazing. I got the tenderloin with lobster tails. I asked our fabulous waiter Pablo if the tenderloin wouldn't be dry and he suggested medium rare. I wanted a medium so we met half way. It was perfect, soft tender and flavorful tenderloin and the lobster was perfect too. My husband ordered the ribeye but he got a medium well so it's a little tough but has a good flavor. Medium done would have been perfect. Overall we had a great time and we would definitely come back.
Anthony took me to the Capital Grille for Valentine's Day
Anthony took me to the Capital Grille for Valentine's Day and it did not disappoint!! Everyone was so kind. I loved how the hosts all were wearing black and red for Valentine's Day! It added to the fun of the evening. We started with a shrimp cocktail and the dirty goose martini. (Not pictured) This was phenomenal! The shrimp was huge and the cocktail sauce was perfect!! The martini was perfectly prepared and the bleu cheese stuffed olives were *chef's kiss* For our entrees, I had our server's recommendation the double Cajun filet. This was PERFECT! I'm not sure if the Cajun spice caused the crust on the filet to be crisp or if that is the norm here, but it was phenomenal. The steak was cooked perfectly. Anthony had the Sea Bass and it was great as well! We also had the Lobster Mac & Cheese and the Spinach. Both sides were also great. Just when we thought we were absolutely full, our server convinced us we needed dessert. Usually, we aren't easily convinced but we agreed and went with his recommendation, the Crème Brûlée. This was fabulous and had us reminiscing of our honeymoon. Ultimately, I've learned everything is amazing here :-) Service, Ambiance, Food, and Drinks- you can't go wrong!
Always very good
Very beautiful restaurant with good food, it's a shame they brought my dish with the cut completely off and it took a while for it to be returned It didn't take away the shine of the night, service was impeccable!!!!
My FIRST, my LAST with my Money
As a first time guest to this fine dining establishment, I expected more than I received. I also got more than I could have ever imagined. Jody, our server, was knowledgeable about her menu- no doubt due to her length of service with Darden's Capital Grille and the high standard expected for the employees to be well versed with the menu. I liked that. But that is about where it ends for the compliments except for the bread options pre-dinner. They were very nice. Moving onto the meal. For our starters, there was a Wedge salad and crab cakes ordered that was shared between 3 of us. The salad was alright, burnt bacon bits but basically ok. The crab cakes, I thought we're ok. Honestly never had crab cakes before like these. They tasted more raw and cold than I'd ever had. And I guess I let a lot go because it was my first "fine dining experience ". NEVER AGAIN!! There were a few items we ordered for the entire table for our Entrees, buffet style items...the asparagus times 3, lobster Mac and cheese, and the mashed potatoes. The items are ala carte and were easily shared between our party of total 13. My personal entree plate was the seared Salmon with heirloom tomatoes, white wine butter and lemon basil mosto and when I tell you that I love salmon normally. It is an understatement BUT!!!!!!! not last night nor today!!!!! This dish, I'm sure on any other night would taste great because on paper it sounds amazing. But I DID NOT have this experience!!! The salmon was cooked with nice crispy edges but the entire time I'm eating this dish, I'm thinking, "Am I suppose to be tasting alcohol in this dish. So I read the menu description and yes there's white wine in this. So yes I was supposed to be ok with the taste of alcohol in this dish. NEVER AGAIN!!!!I was supposed to work a double today but I couldn't even make it on time to the first part of my double and had to leave work after attempting to hold it together. I have only had food poisoning one time before and it feels very similar but can't say for 100%. But I do know for 100% certainty that this experience has changed my thinking of the fine dining experience, food and my money. Automatic 20% gratuity is reasonable under the right circumstances but there is always exceptions to the rules. And really, she could have gotten a better tip from me but I don't do well with others TELLING me what to do. So she got what she got. But that will be the one and only time Capital Grille will get any of my money that I work for. The second time I threw up, I made that up in my mind and I can't see myself paying for another experience like this one. ⭐⭐ I'm so sad. I wanted you to be better.
My partner and I have always wanted to experience Capital
My partner and I have always wanted to experience Capital Grille, and the ambiance was fantastic. The dimmed lights and soft classical music set a great vibe. Our server, Mony, did a great job explaining the menu and sharing interesting facts about the people on the wall portrait. Now, onto the food - the Bone-In Ribeye, cooked Pittsburgh style, lacked seasoning, mainly tasting like grill smoke. The Lobster Mac and Cheese, with breadcrumbs, was amazing but could've used more salt. The bourbon Manhattan was strong but enjoyable. Despite the high price, the overall food experience didn't match our expectations. Recommending it for a first-time visit, but be prepared. Hope this review helps!
The steak was ok, would like to have more flavor.
But it was cooked to perfection. The au gratin potatoes needed more flavor as well. Our server was very friendly, and knowledgable of the menu. It was our first time here and they made it worth our while. The inside was beautifully decorated in lobby area and very clean.
Recognizing great employees and great service
We had a great experience at this Capital Grille as we’ve been to several over the years. The hostess was great upon arrival and departure and our server Demetra was wonderful. 5 stars for her service and attention to detail. The other women who assisted Demetra (apologies as I don’t remember her name) was spot on as well. They made a great team and I’m writing this review because it’s important to recognize great employees!
Poor management on response requested
Went there for dinner. The service and food was great. We ordered the surf and turf meal that is on the menu for $70.00. We had got the bill and it was over $500 for 4 people. We had $350.00 in gift certificates that we applied to the bill. After leaving a few days later we looked at the bill because we were talking about how high it was. After checking we were charged for 2 African lobster tails for $85 and steak was $60 when the surf and turf was $70. Multiple attempts to reach management has been unsuccessful and never got a returned call. Capital Grill as far I always heard was a high class place. Well I got fooled. As far as I am concerned it is a low class establishment
AMAZING!!!
Absolutely incredible!! ASK FOR MARISSA...she was impeccable from start to finish....her knowledge, personality, and attentiveness was superb! The manager, Kyle....just wow...he led the way!!! Between his genuine expertise and her persona, my husband, grandfather, his wife, and I were given an amazing experience. It felt flawless. No special occasion, just a great time!!! Thank you Capital Grille. Thank you Marissa. Thank you Kyle. Wonderful establishment, wonderful people....will return.

Very Disappointing for Such an Establishment
This was so very disappointing- we went here for our big NYE dinner and were absolutely disappointed. The food was the most tasteless either of us had ever had- the steaks, the sides, everything.... This definitely was not a $250 meal. We will not dine at any Capital Grille again. We will stick with Ruth Chris, Mortons, Flemings... even Charleys was much better. There was no wow factor, not with the food, not with the service... very blazay...
We went here for our big NYE dinner and we could not have
We went here for our big NYE dinner and we could not have been more disappointed. The food was absolutely tasteless, both our steaks, the appetizers, sides, just absolutely blah. There were people dining in tshirts and shorts and it was NYE!- very disappointing. We will continue to go to Ruth Chris, Mortons, Flemings, Charleys... any of these have much better food, better atmosphere and are worth the money. Even Outback or Lone Star would be better than this was. We will never go to any Capital Grilles again. It is not at all what you expect and certainly not worth what you'll pay.
Five well deserved stars.
I made a last minute reservation (I'm talking 15 minutes before arriving) to celebrate a birthday & we were thoughtfully accommodated. The ambiance, the service and the thoughtful manner in which we were taken care of was incredible. Every single item we ordered was delectable ( steak, lobster tails, lamb chops, lobster mac and the mashed potatoes). We ended with dessert a whipped style cheese cake which we technically added to the bill after closing but our server Justin went out of his way to prepare it him self even after the dessert team had already left. I can't wait to enjoy more of the menu on my next visit.
Don’t miss this dining experience.
What a wonderful experience from the class of the dark wood to the knowledge and attention of the staff, this was a memorable dining experience. The martinis were made perfectly with hand-stuffed olives. Starting with a dozen oysters, which were delicious, even the bread choice was interesting and yummy. We had the Chilean Sea Bass and surf and turf, a 10 oz filet with a lobster tail. For the table we had lobster Mac and cheese and sautéed mushrooms. Everything was prepared to a “T”. The sea bass was scrumptious, the filet done perfectly medium rare and the lobster was cooked to perfection. There is a good wine list and the staff knows good pairings. Dessert was a lovely platter with a square of dense chocolate cake and one of cheese cake. This restaurant is well worth the visit if you want top notch food, outstanding service and a warm atmosphere.
Great dining experience
Service was excellent, food was delicious:. I need to reiterate the service: phenomenal. Jodi took great care of us. I recommend the beet salad, clam chowder, and crusted bone-in ribeye.
