Came here for a dinner at the hibachi table.
It was not cleaned. There was food and hair on the seats and napkins. The waiter corrected that problem. Not off to a great start here. However, once the chef came, he was awesome and our food tasted great and was plentiful. It was quite loud in there as expected due to the grills. It was an ok experience but probably would not sit at the hibachi area next time.
Best Japanese we have had in Columbia.

During the wait, you will be served salad, soup, appetizers etc. It's a social event and a little noisy at times due to musical utensils and celebrations. The chef BJ was entertaining and he prepared some great food. (I have also seen reviews about 007 being entertaining as well) Good food, good fun, good friends.

Our party of 6 people came in at 6:00, and were told the wait would be 30 minutes. At 6:35, we were told that it got busy after we came in, 11 parties were now ahead of us (the majority of whom came in AFTER we did), and it would be an additional 30 minutes. At 7:15, we were still not seated and the hostess had been gone talking to someone at the bar since 7:00. She did not ever apologize for the wait and spoke to us like we were an inconvenience, not customers. When she seated us after 7:30, she again didn’t apologize and in fact didn’t even speak to us when she put the menus down. It took another 10 minutes for our waiter to come and ask us about drinks. At 7:45 an additional party of 2 was seated at our table, further delaying everything. Our chef did not come out until after 8, a full 2 hours after we’d arrived and an hour & a half after we were originally told we’d be seated. At no point did anyone ever apologize for the wait or acknowledge how truly horrendous this experience was. We stood by the front door so it’s not even like we were hidden and forgotten about. The staff clearly saw us and had to walk past us every time they sat someone ahead of us for an hour and a half. This is unacceptable behavior from a staff member and unacceptable conduct of an establishment. Because it was a Saturday, we could not even make a reservation (not that they would have honored our reserved time from the way in which this was handled). We stood by the front door throughout our entire wait and watched people who came in after us be seated before us. We had been here previously on a weekday and were not impressed but wanted to give the restaurant another try. Between the high prices for low quality food and this terrible experience, we will not be returning here ever again and will dissuade anyone who asks us about this restaurant from coming as well.

I'm giving it three stars not because the food is bad or
I'm giving it three stars not because the food is bad or the ambience is bad, nor are the cooks. My three stars is based on the fact that the cook has not left the table, and the server comes with the bill, to-go plates, and we have not at all enjoyed the culmination of a culinary dinner. I've spoken to them before about just allowing people their meal without pushing an immediate turnover, and now, here I am. We are long time customers, but it's time to stop the madness and allow customers to enjoy their meal. Chill out Sukiya.
Hibachi was good.
My gluten free options were addressed. Our server was diligent towards getting our drink filled and serving us and our chef, 007, was very friendly and engaging. The atmosphere was nice and clean and comfortable. We went for lunch and had plenty to eat without the crowds and at a better price. We would go back.
Family day at Riverbanks Zoo.
Family dinner here. We've been eating here since they opened. We've brought friends and family here for years and never had a bad experience. If you love Hibachi & sushi, this is the place.

The Halloween decorations were absolutely adorable. The kids had a blast when they open the door and the Skelton rose from squatting to standing holding a menu. I like where they have the two smaller grills so that you have an option for a group of people or just a family Of 4. people The food was absolutely amazing. It was a lot of food. I really enjoyed having the noodles along with the rice. I opted for the New York strip, and it was cooked to perfection. The kids really enjoyed the Chef and his choo-choo train that they still talk about today. The cocktails were magnificent and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend this place, especially to an alternative of having to drive to Harbison when you have this nice place in the heart of Lexington..
