Providence Los Angeles Reviews from The Last Year
Overall, everything was fantastic.
It was an 8 course set menu with the option for some add ons. The meal started off with amuse-bouche and there was a good balance of a citrus infused cracker topped with caviar, waygu beef tartare, alaska smoked king salmon, and a lobster dish of some sort. Then came our first dish which was the oyster mixed with caviar in a wonderful warm sauce that paired very well and felt very comforting. Our next dish was a light sashimi bathed in citrus and 400 year old sicilian olive oil. We opted to add an uni egg which was one of the highlights of the meal. The sea urchin with the combination of the sauce and croutons were an explosion of flavor in your mouth. The sea urchin didn't have a strong flavor and all the ingredients complemented each other very well. It all came out in a delicate egg shell and the presentation was amazing. In the middle of the meal, they brought out a house made red fife sourdough with French butter and Santa Barbara Maldon sea salt to pair with the next courses of the meal. Next came the norwegian king crab with sea urchin, fava bean and aged ham broth. It was followed by a lobster dish with spring onion and fennel. My favorite dish was probably the black cod which was cooked to perfection with a crispy skin paired with asparagus and nori. The pairing of it all just worked so exquisitely. We also added the black winter truffle on top of a pasta alla chitarra to the set menu and this was definitely a treat. The portions of the shaved truffle were quite generous and delicious. At this point we were quite full but the food kept coming. For the last course, I chose the liberty duck breast with duck sausage. The duck was done very well paired with a nice red sauce. My friend chose the alaska king salmon which came with a truffle, pancetta, and sunchoke mixture. The sauce for the salmon was similar to the pasta we got. For dessert, they started us off with the strawberry with bergamot sorbet which was so refreshing after our flavor forward meal. It was followed by a house made chocolate flourless cake with a cherry compote. Lastly, we were treated with a petit four which had a pistachio citrus dessert, hazelnut chocolate, chocolate caramel tart, and a blood orange jelly. They complemented it with a house tea infused with their chocolate with chocolate infused honey which was the perfect amount of sweetness. This was definitely one of the most intricate, elaborate, memorable meals to date. It is clear that the chef thought of every little detail in each dish. Everything was paced very well and they were attentive without being overbearing. The service was impeccable. Overall, Providence exceeded my expecatations. Definitely a place to go to for a nice celebration! Valet is $13 but there is also some street parking if you're lucky.

Had an extraordinary dining experience at Providence, a Michelin-starred gem that truly lives up to its reputation. From the moment we walked in, the service was impeccable, with every detail attended to with care and precision. The ambiance was elegant and inviting, setting the perfect tone for an unforgettable evening. One of the standout features of Providence was the cocktails. Though priced at $60, they are absolutely worth it--each one a masterpiece. The craftsmanship and creativity behind the bar are evident in every sip, making these cocktails the best I've ever had. They were perfectly balanced, with flavors that delighted and surprised. The culinary journey continued with an array of dishes that showcased the finest ingredients and masterful preparation. Each course was a revelation, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The meticulous attention to detail in both taste and presentation made every bite an experience to savor. If you're looking for a dining experience that combines exquisite flavors with top-tier service, Providence is the place to be. It's a testament to the heights that fine dining can reach, offering a symphony of taste, service, and ambiance that is simply unparalleled. #MichelinStar #ProvidenceRestaurant #BestCocktails #FineDining #CulinaryArtistry

I came here for dinner a few weeks ago with a friend when her husband got sick 6 hours prior to their dinner reservation. I didn't know much about the restaurant going in except that I was nervous it was going to be stuffy and pretentious since it has 2 Michelin stars. However I was very pleasantly surprised and had a fantastic time. Food: everything was presented beautifully and was very tasty. It was also very filling. We added on a truffle risotto and that really pushed us over the edge to being way too full. Drinks: the mixed drinks were creative and very tasty. Service: the service was excellent. The staff was very nice, professional, and created an environment where I felt very at ease. Ambiance: the restaurant is beautiful and also had good background music. I am impressed with how comfortable and at ease this restaurant makes patrons feel. I have been to other Michelin rated restaurants where I felt a bit uncomfortable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a fine dining experience!
I probably can't say anything about Providence that hasn't
I probably can't say anything about Providence that hasn't already been said by real foodies/critics. This comment is more for people who very rarely do fine dining or haven't ever, but are considering going to Providence: DEFINITELY go. It's so very worth it. The service is excellent, the craftsmanship of the food is pristine, and overall the environment feels very elegant but accessible. You really feel like you're taken on a journey with the meal and you'll leave very impressed and satisfied. I think if you're considering this kind of price point for a special occasion dinner, Providence will more than deliver. Some specific notes: 1) I had to change my reservation same day from two to one because my friend's flight was cancelled; staff was so helpful accommodating me. Also, they called me to let me know my table was ready early which was very thoughtful 2) The volume in this place is perfect. As someone with bad hearing who is also used to going to "cool" restaurants where they're blasting music at club levels, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate being able to communicate without anyone having to scream. 3) Add on the Uni egg to your meal. It is in fact life changing.
What more is there to say that hasn't been said.
Providence is amazing. The execution is fantastic and we genuinely enjoyed every single dish. My husband still says the amuse bouche trio is the best thing he's ever eaten. The customized menu for our anniversary was a sweet touch. We have it hanging on our fridge. Our waiter was a tall younger Hispanic man with glasses. I wish I could remember his name (it was a few months back) because his service was excellent and we had great conversations. My husband and I both agreed that the execution was worth the price. I'm sure we'll be back again.
Excellent
Amazing pasta and salad. K was friendly and attentive - making our visit extra special. Your Michelin ratings are well deserved. The elegant atmosphere and excellent staff are just the icing on the cake because the seafood is some of the best I have had.
Amazing service.
Recommend doing the wine pairing with dinner if possible... amazing 10/10 would recommend here

Phenomenal Food, Non-alcoholic Pairing, Service & Atmosphere
This is my annual love letter to Providence; our annual visit to the restaurant that began over a dozen years ago when they offered their four-course tasting menu ($90 back then ?) to celebrate their anniversary month of June. The food was so good and the experience so memorable, we've continued to go every June since then, to commemorate, to celebrate, such a wonderful, special restaurant. If you're a regular, everyday, working person (like me), and you've previously dined at Providence, the first part of the excitement begins when you've scored a reservation for the time & date of your choosing. And as the day draws near, anticipation builds. Then, they call a couple days prior to confirm your plans, ask about allergies, or whether you're celebrating anything. That call reawakens your excitement. The day of, you think about what to wear and when to leave so you don't run late. And if you hit traffic, that's when anxiety sets in. But if you make it within their 15 minute grace period, you're set for the evening's feast. If you valet, keep your ticket out until you're at the hostess station; they might ask for the ticket number so that your car is ready & waiting when you leave after dinner. Once seated in the beautiful, adult grotto, you finally relax, ready for an adult beverage. This night, we asked for one of their signature cocktails prepared tableside. Your drink is made before you, with a beautiful storytelling of each ingredient going into the glass. For me, I felt mesmerised...like a child, eyes-wide, watching a puppet show. It added to the specialness of the evening. They also started a non-alcoholic beverage pairing some months ago. I don't often drink (alcohol) when I go out these days, so when I heard about the mocktail pairing, I was keen. The drinks were DELICIOUS. About half were house-made cocktails with house-made or house-grown herbs; the other half were commercial beverages. Either way, they were all really good, with my preference leaning to the house-made. I strongly recommend this pairing; it's a must try. If they keep this, it's something I'll order each and every time. As always, the multiple amuse bouche, the courses, the supplements (salt roasted spot prawns and the cheese course) were scrumptiously phenomenal. I was elated to see salmon back on the menu; our last visit, it was not. The dishes were dialed-in like never before; it was the best meal & experience, more than any previous year. It was perfectly beautiful and delicious. For me, dinner here is the Gen-X equivalent of an e-ticket ride. It was fun. It felt good. It felt life-affirming to get dressed up and enjoy and celebrate a night with someone you love. On the whole, it an was exquisite, amazing and phenomenal evening of food, service (thank you Mr Peoples!) and atmosphere. You leave satiated, content and walking on Cloud 9. Amidst the daily stressors of balancing work-home-life, Providence is one of life's joys.
Providence restaurant delivers an extraordinary dining
Providence restaurant delivers an extraordinary dining experience, particularly with its sushi tasting menu. This was one of the most phenomenal culinary adventures I've ever had. Each dish was a masterpiece, decorated like art, showcasing a perfect blend of flavors and impeccable presentation. The ambiance at Providence is simply beautiful. The elegant and serene environment provides a perfect backdrop for an unforgettable meal. It's a place where you can truly relax and immerse yourself in the dining experience. The service at Providence is top-notch. The staff is extremely attentive, knowledgeable, and passionate about the food they serve. They ensure that every detail is taken care of, making you feel pampered and well cared for throughout your meal. Overall, Providence offers a dining experience that is second to none. Definitely worth the price you're paying. Highly recommended for anyone looking to indulge in exceptional sushi and enjoy a night of culinary artistry. Also, make sure to add the Wagyu steak to your meal. It's definitely worth the splurge.

We initially checked OpenTable for reservations but nothing
We initially checked OpenTable for reservations but nothing was available and added ourselves to the wait list! We weren't sure if we'd be able to get one so made separate reservations at a different restaurant. 1 day prior to the said date we wanted to- Providence reached out and we were so excited they did. While I had previously dined at Providence before, my husband had not and really wanted to go for our anniversary. Fast forward to dinner. We arrived 10 minutes early and valet promptly took care of us as did the host as soon as we entered. Service was phenomenal as expected. Food was delicious as expected. What was not expected but delighted us the most was Carlos. CARLOS IS A GEM. Never lose him! It was almost like we had always been Carlos' friend and he dropped by to say hi. He took care of us in a way that most restaurants do not. My husband was obsessed with the bread and Carlos so generously brought him an entire loaf in a bag to take home! (He ate said bread to r next day). Thank you Providence and Carlos. We can't wait to see you again!
Super-stars
I had the most delightful evening at a charming restaurant recently. The atmosphere was perfect, the service impeccable, and the dinner was absolutely delicious. If you're looking to enhance your dining experiences, I highly recommend checking out GPT for restaurants on utempla.com. It's like having a culinary companion that helps you discover new dishes, find hidden gems, and make your dining outings even more enjoyable without even realizing it. Give it a try and elevate your dining adventures to new heights!
They don't serve normal food or drinks, they only serve
They don't serve normal food or drinks, they only serve heaven on plates and in glasses. I have no idea what the name of my drink was but I never had anything like it. UH-MAZING. That was before I ate a bite. Doesn't matter what you get, because my party got half the menu and we tasted. Everything was fit for an emperor. UH-MAZING. Most of us didn't even realize food could taste this way. Never had anything like it but I very much hope to again. Didn't know service could be that kind of good. Absurdly expensive, yes, but worth twice the price. If you can afford it, you most definitely should eat here or drink here or just walk in the front door for a smell. UH-MAZING.
My birthday dinner at Providence in Los Angeles was an
My birthday dinner at Providence in Los Angeles was an absolute delight, and a big part owing to the fantastic service which was incredibly courteous and thoughtful, making us feel truly special. The ambiance was romantic and indulgent, setting the perfect tone for a memorable birthday treat. While the food was delicious, I did find it to be on the salty side. Although considering Providence's seafood specialty, maybe I'm just not used to the brininess that surprised me with some of the dishes. I liked the Asian influence in a lot of the dishes. The wagyu was an absolute standout, melting in my mouth with every bite. I've never had such a thick cut of wagyu and it was such a treat. I'm glad our server talked me into the upgrade! The drinks were delicious and thoughtfully made too, adding to the overall enjoyment of the meal. One aspect that truly impressed me was the use of in-house grown or made ingredients, adding a unique and thoughtful touch to each dish. And let's not forget about the granola they send you home with - absolutely delicious! Parking is either valet or there's a lot of street parking. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Providence. It was the perfect way to celebrate my birthday, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience in LA.
Perfection is an understatement.
Expectations are left at the door because Providence exceeds any idea of an expectation you even think you could have. Excellence is achieved in every single aspect you knew, and every single way you did not even remotely imagine could be possible. I had a solo dinner on Friday and as soon as I entered, the host was incredibly kind and asked my name directly, confirming it was for my reservation. I sat at the bar which, at first, I was a bit hesitant but upon finishing this experience, the bar is an absolutely amazing place to enjoy a Providence dinner. My bartender Kim was a fantastic human and an incredible bartender. Of course the menu is set but I added a few supplemental items like the Uni Egg, Truffle Riosotto, and A5 Wagyu. I also ordered a couple drinks. I'll start with the drinks. The first, Japanese Penicillin, was incredible. Smooth, bold, sharp, refreshing, tart, sour, it was one of the best cocktails I've ever had. One of the other best cocktails I've ever had was my second drink, the Suavecito. An off-menu special for the night, I was confused when it was first served, as, pictured, it's clear. When one of the waitresses first explained that it used coconut milk, guava, etc, I expected it to be sweet and "colorful". But this clear glass of liquid heaven was INSANE. It was so light and smooth while still packing a punch with flavor and the booze. Now for that service. I think I encountered 20 people, between hosts, wait staff, bussers, bartenders, and of course, Chef Michael Ciramusti himself! Chef was waiting for me at the front before leaving and I had the chance to not only thank him endlessly, but chat a bit about some dishes and just the overall experience. He couldn't be more humble, gracious, and talented. Every single member of staff was so genuinely kind. Not the "I'm gunna be nice for a bigger tip" but the "I love working here, I enjoy serving these people, and I am proud to represent this two Michelin star establishment". The food was, simply put, to die for. Every single dish was perfect. The Amuse Bouche alone kicked me off to such a great start that I would've been happy ending it right then and there. But wait - THERE WAS MORE! Uni Egg. Unequivocally Excellent. Uni with mushrooms. Fantastic. One Potato, Two Potato - a classic redefined and revolutionized. Tai Sashimi. Profound. Sourdough Loaf from Tehachapi. Cozy home warmth. Truffle Risotto. Sublime. Wagyu. Bold. Salmon. Heaven sent. Scallop. Simply put? The best scallop I've ever had. Striped Bass. Traditions. All the chocolate was like what you want every Valentine's chocolate to actually be. Those 3-4 plates of chocolate brought Belgium, France, Switzerland, Italy, Hawai'i, right to your mouth. The chocolate tea was MIND BLOWING. You smell hot chocolate. You drink literally "chocolate tea". WHAT. And that citrus fruit dessert was like waking up and dying on an orange grove. Seriously. Anyone who says otherwise about Providence needs a psychiatric evaluation. I'm ready to come back and I'm ready to experience this all over again.
Came here for a birthday.
I made a reservation two months in advance. The tasting menu was phenomenal. Everything was so good and cooked so well. For the main, I opted for the salmon and my boyfriend got the wagyu. The salmon was cooked perfectly and I definitely recommend it. The service was amazing and very attentive. They gave us our menu which said "Happy Birthday" and granola to take home with us.
Highest quality meal I have ever had.
Something I wouldn't even want to indulge in often because it was so special. Of course we had to get the uni egg and salt roasted Santa Barbara spot prawns outside of the prefixed menu. Everything was divine. Our server Ivar was above and beyond knowledgeable, kind, and witty. The restaurant had an atmosphere that felt extremely high end but not gaudy or pretentious. I savored the entire experience and can't find a single reason they don't have 3 stars at this point. But when they do, I'll be back!
I thoroughly enjoyed eating at @providencela .
Providence is a 2 Michelin star restaurant located on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. The staff and food were amazing and so was the decor!!! My most favorite bites were the Salt Prawn and the Uni Egg. If you have a chance to try this restaurant, you should definitely go!!! Here is everything I enjoyed. 1. Bee's Sneeze Cocktail 2. Amuse - Bouche 3. One Potato, two potato 4. Shima Aji 5. Salt Prawn 6. Sunset Boulevardier 7. Uni egg with Caviar 8. Hokkaido scallop 9. Bread 10. Halibut 11. Vermilion Rockfish 12. A5 Wagyu 13. Peach, almond, shiso 14. House-made Hawaiian dark chocolate
Once in a life experience! Their food, ambiance and service
Once in a life experience! Their food, ambiance and service was superb! Each piece was a work of art. Initially you see the food and think so little?!? Why can't they serve couple pieces of each but by the time you get your first dessert dish you're absolutely full! But there are two more dessert dishes! So make sure you come with an empty hungry stomach! Their cocktail was really good too. Also because it's a course meal you should expect to spend at least 3 hours to eat the full course. I'd suggest the earliest time when the restaurant opens.
What an absolutely gorgeous experience! The food and wine
What an absolutely gorgeous experience! The food and wine easily deserve another star...on par, or better, than any 3 Michelin we've had. Every bite was a masterclass in elegance, balance, and beauty. The somm was charming and provided perfect pairings throughout the evening. If I'm being hyper-critical to the point of silliness, there were the tiniest of minute hiccups in the service that didn't impact our experience in the slightest but could explain why they haven't gotten their third star. Nonetheless, we felt it was a perfect evening and are so thankful to have a destination-worthy restaurant of this caliber in Los Angeles. Bravo Providence!
Great dining experience! Never disappointing.
The atmosphere is typical for a Michelin-star restaurant. Love that some of the produce is freshly grown on the rooftop 'farm'.

My husband and I went for dinner on a Thursday night for our anniversary. It was amazing. The food was delicious! We ordered all the extras as well as the chefs tasting menu offered because it all sounded so good and I'm so glad we did! The service was impeccable- all the staff were very attentive and considerate. We sat at the bar in the front and enjoyed the bar - drinks were perfect. I loved the quiet - that I could talk to my husband and actually hear him. Overall it was well worth it and I would love to go back.
Very overpriced, over rated
Due to last-minute reservations at the bar next to another individual from New Orleans area. We both thought the restaurant was overrated and overpriced (food good, not outstanding at these prices) certainly compared to even Paris or New York City. But was particularly annoying to me is I thought they missed giving me 1 of the courses and rather than replacing it up as each of the courses were very tiny, they said no, you're given a course. Obviously they do not believe that the customers always right.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.

I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here

perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??
Tune into NBC News - Top Story Tonight 7:40p ET
Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil

Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
