Mille Fleurs Rancho Santa Fe Reviews from The Last Year
This place is absolutely incredible.
The service was unprecedented and the food was amazing. I loved the escargot and the Duck. A must for a special occasion. This was my wife and my wedding anniversary.
Went to dinner here last night- fantastic food and service.
I ate the sea bass and my partner the 1855 filet. While this seems odd, these were some of the best potatoes I have ever had! The staff were so welcoming and the cute old feel of the restaurant was really nice. Felt like a fabulous dinner in someone's amazing Racho Home. The restaurant has been there for almost 40 years and is the perfect place to celebrate! Lastly, parking is super easy and free on the street so that's a huge plus! Highly recommend!
Set in an interior that resembles a quintessential French
Set in an interior that resembles a quintessential French home, the ambiance at Mille Fleur is uniquely charming. The food is both delicious and pricey, but you're there for the entire experience, aren't you? The bread with the garlic butter is great as is the escargot, steak frites (a little salty), and french onion soup. We also got a burrata salad that was flavorful and beautifully presented. Unfortunately, on the night we visited--a favorite spot of my parents--the service was unusually slow and inattentive, which was disappointing given how much I enjoyed the food and the price point. Lastly, make sure to visit the bar on your way out; it presents a stark contrast to the dining room's atmosphere, serving as a lively gathering place for an older, more boisterous crowd seeking companionship. It was quite a surprise.
Excellent anniversary dinner here.
Fantastic food, service, and location. Highly recommend
Gosh everything is pretty solid here.
Food service and ambiance are on point each time we go. It's pricey but you know that going in so it's fair.
Went here for a random date night and had a nice experience.
Was impressed by the level of service. Interior is cute. The food was really good, particularly the main courses - we had the duck and the sea bass. My partners dessert, the strawberry charlotte, was great but I was a little underwhelmed with the chocolate marquis. The kumquat sauce that came with it was good but really overpowered the chocolate. Would come back.

Great experience for an upscale dinner! Staff is very friendly, and knowledgeable about food, and wine. Even the chef came to the table and engaged into friendly ! conversation , actively looking for feedback to learn and to improve!

The traditional wienerschnitzel veal loin with lemon caper sauce and gratin dauphinois was fantastic!
Very decent.
Food and service are both good! Dessert is average. Overall a good experience.

Started with the bone marrow, lobster salad and salmon with uni. I can't remember what the fish was called that I had but it was really good. It was a thin white fish (not dover sole) with butter and lemon. My parents shared the Dover Sole for two and were still a little hungry after, but it was very good. The lobster bisque was also delicious. (May 2023)
California prices
Menu is nice. I don’t understand a $3.50/person charge for bread. So, $14 just for bread for 4 in a fine dining establishment. I had soup for $20. Very pricey. Tasty but rich. I found the prices for the food to be quite shocking overall. I felt like everywhere we went added on extra charges for kitchen or credit card use or bread or….we spend lots of money on food and travel but like to feel like we aren’t being overcharged just because. Staff was very nice.
Elegant Dining
Mille Fleurs is a fine dining restaurant in a beautiful setting in Ranch Santa Fe, California. The food is wonderful, as is the service and attention to detail. It is a special occasion type of place for most of us since it is very expensive.
Poor service, food average noting to talk about
The service was poor and slow, they need to improve in their timing, it took us weel over two and a half ours to dine. Food was average for the type of restaurant, they did not have some of their typical plates
Surprised by how good lunch was
We happened upon this restaurant and we’re pleased we did. The courtyard is beautiful in the sun. Devilled eggs, a fresh salad and a nice glass of rose. The waiter ( very pleasant man) charged us for Italian water we didn’t have. A small forgivable mistake. We had a very pleasant lunch.
Elegance in Rancho Santa Fe, California
This is an elegant restaurant that is a special occasion kind of place. The food is excellent, the service superb, and the atmosphere on the outdoor patio is hard to beat. It is definitely my favorite restaurant in San Diego and I always look forward to going there. Marko, the maître d', is very welcoming, always remembers the names of his guests, and sets the tone that is continued throughout the evening.
Could be better (Personable, attentive service, but the food should shine. And it didn't)
I've wanted to try Mille Fleurs for many years. Recenty, we went to celebrate our anniversary. Service was excellent. Exactly what you would want in a fine restaurant. The outdoor courtyard was a beautiful setting for dinner. The cocktails were delicious. But we likely will not be returning. Unfortunately, our meals were the least impressive aspect of our visit. Nothing was bad, but there was sadly nothing at all that was memorable or impressive. Each course we felt that we could easily surpass if we made it at home. My wife's salad was oversalted (even arrived with added salt flakes on it). She likes salt, so we didn't send it back, but I likely would have. My corn soup was fine, but served mildly warm and lacked anything but basic flavor and seasoning. Fresh ingredients, but not memorable in any way. The veal schnitzel has apparently been on their menu for many years. It was described as a regular's favorite. And it was fine, but the breading was bland and the sauce (lemon caper), which added the acid needed for the dish, was in short supply. The entree came with a potato dish (gratin dauphinois) that wasn't served hot (kinda warm, not hot). And, truth be told, seemed like a really good find at Costco. It was good, truly, but by no means great. Normally there is at least a hint of garlic, but almost none that I could appreciate. For a restaurant of this caliber, I would expect more then what seemed like warmed layers of potato and cheese. We split a serving of the profiteroles, advertised as having a warm chocolate sauce. It wasn't warm at all, unless room temperature is considered warm compared to refrigerated? And the pastry seemed to have been made a day or two ago. Again, the impression was of a tasty find in a Costco packaged option, but for a restaurant of this reputation, this did not approach the high caliber dessert we had hoped for.
Beautiful grounds & service
We went for a quick espresso and we’re blown away by the service for our Mother-Daughter outing. Would certainly return !
