Rooftop not to be missed
Always a guarantee to eat meat. We had dinner during a business trip, an excellent location both for dining with a view of the city (and sunset if the weather is good) and for enjoying a cocktail.
Positive Aspects
It is located not far away from the metro station. The food is delicious and fresh. The WiFi connection is stable. Th ambience is clean and serene.
Overhyped and afraid of salt
Totally overhyped place. Ordered a linguine with tiger prawns and tuna tartar for starter. Tasted good enough as such, but you come for the meat. For the main course, we shared a world tour menu with almost no salt on it. I'd be inclined to say it wasn't salty at all = doesn't taste like much. Secondly, the meat was cold/lukewarm when it arrived which we commented to the waiter who turned it over with his manager. Some dessert or something was promised. Eq. which we then ordered. The creme brulee was good though. Mega lot of noise, and a really bad location as we were sitting right next to the washing up station where a lot of noise was also coming from. It also didn't help that those sitting next to us were so far up their own asses that they could look out of their own mouths. Good wine menu, but you don't gain that much in my opinion when the rest was so lousy. Will not come again.
Disappointing and expensive
Visited the Bredgade location and the food was tasteless. Although the meat was cooked properly, medium rare as ordered, it had no flavour and was severely underseasoned. The pepper sauce was bland, tasted like a watery stock and there was hardly any (parts of) pepper corns to be found in it. Fries were ok but creamy spinach was drowning in cream and cheese. Cocktail quantity was very little despite theatrics with squared ice cube with restaurant logo. There was no (free) appetiser/bread on the table and if you request regular water they bring you mineral water and charge you. Door/cloakroom and waiting staff were friendly and service ok. This place however does not match up with steak restaurants in London like the Hawksmoor or Gauchos and the prices are exhorbitant for the below average / average quality that you receive.
This evening we decided to have dinner in the restaurant on the 12th floor of the hotel and do not regret the choice for a second.
What a wonderfully delicious food and dessert, because not the drink we chose to have in the bar afterwards. An experience you just have to have with you
Great service and food
Visited with work colleagues on a trip to Copenhagen, it did not disappoint. Great service, great wine and great food! MASH is a fantastic and consistent restaurant.
Best steak in town
Outstanding steaks and cocktails, sauces and side plates - I was expecting better desserts. The price is definitely too high, even for Copenhagen
We were invisible.
We booked a table for 8:15, arrived at 8:10 and no receptionist, no interaction with the bar staff (next point of contact) eventually a person came to help us and we were told our table would be 10 minutes and would we like a drink at the bar? No thanks, there are tables everywhere, we then left. Appalling customer service, appalling customer management, I am a regular visitor to Copenhagen and will not be coming back. We walked across the road and down to another restaurant and that was much better - excellent actually, see separate review.
Good steaks, service all the way down
Was at the Mash Penthouse with my son. A present for his 16th birthday. He had a dream of getting a Wagyu A5 striploin and decided to pay half himself sf his own hard earned money. DKK 1,450 for a 200 g steak adds up to something special. He had been looking forward to something extraordinary. With a menu that is at the heavy end with the world's best steak in the collection, you think that service must match the standard and pride in what is served is paramount. However, at no time did we feel like we were in a particularly fine restaurant and the experience of being pampered remained with the steak. The food tasted fantastic but a disappointing experience to be a guest. In my view, being valued as a guest is part of eating out. Have been to many delicious restaurants in the world and actually think this was close to the bottom of what I have experienced. No thanks were said for tonight, no one asked if everything was as it should be. We barely had time to sit down, then we were attacked several times if we had protected ourselves, after which she gave up and a new one took over who didn't seem super interested either, we had to wait for drinks, the meat was not explained even though we speak the two most expensive steaks on the map, and you had to scout for a long time to find one who could come over.
Totally disgusting.
Totally disgusting!. Service was absolutely awful.. From the beginning the waiters were cold and rude. But giving the restaurant the benefit of the doubt - we proceeded with our meal. We finished our dinner, and remained at our table ordering more drinks. Later in the evening , we were informed - again very rudely. - that the restaurant was “now closed and the we could take our drinks and move to the bar!” We were counting down to midnight to celebrate the start of my husband’s birthday, so we did just that. We sat down in the bar area, and waited, And waited. NO SERVICE, My husband went to the bar - stood there for more than FIVE minutes - while the two bartenders pretended to be totally engrossed in a very important conversation with another customer. . Both then left the bar , walked past my husband standing at the bar , completely ignoring him, and walked away. Still willing again to give them the benefit of the doubt that I was not experiencing what I thought i was experiencing, my husband continued to stand at the bar waiting to be served. The manager of the bar then appears and informs us that he had called a last call and no more drinks were being served!!! One of the patrons, whom we had just informed we were waiting till midnight to wish my husband a Happy Birthday - then informed them of why we were there. Only at that point, and again with extreme arrogance the manager informed us that were entitled to a drink! Of course by this time we were totally disgusted with the entire experience and decoded we no longer wanted anything. The entire episode and experience unprofessional, and might I add, smacked of an underlying, subtle level of racism, which was totally disgusting. An absolutely appalling experience! Shameful!
