Heffe Tacos Philadelphia Reviews from The Last Year
It's god awful.
.. just look at the pictures of the food. I don't I show this place stays open.

When walked up to the window to look order, the cashier was stocking sodas. He ignored us, finished his job, walked away to get rid of the box without a word, and finally came back and asked us what we wanted. We should have left then. The Willie Made It burritos were disgusting mushy. There was no difference between the spicy beef and the waffle fries. It was just one burrito of mush. The guacamole was okay but not worth $16. Won't be back.
Terrible.
Probably the worst place in Fishtown for tacos, save your money and head anywhere else.
$$$ the boss was uninviting and the food was overpriced.
I got 4 tacos for almost $40. the food was uninspired (it didn't taste good, especially for the price)

Ehh,, don't really know how to feel about my choices , had the merman taco it had pineapple salsa , avocado Mayo and pickled cabbage , more cabbage than fish , that taco is awful and the fat man burrito is just ok needs more flavor , empanadas with Granny Smith apples , the apples were mush nothing was sweet about it , I'm so disappointed in this place , I really had high hopes . This is straight drunk people food , that will be the only ones who could possibly enjoy this slop. The presentation was good but the food is nasty . They said "tacos that don't suck" I'm here to beg the differ , they do suck & majorly ,I've had food truck tacos that are better , I'm sorry can't see it staying in business too long
I love this place! Unbelievably flavorful food.
A hidden gem in a city full of great restaurants & places to eat. Sophisticated twist on Mexican street fare. Limited options but each item has been crafted to perfection. I'm a really big fan of the Guido's Nachos, it's so decadent & rich. Nachos topped with a nice amount of pork, broccoli rabe, a mouthwatering cheese sauce & beans, that work so well together already but is perfectly balanced with the pairing of banana peppers & chimichurri. Probably my favorite nachos in the city. The tacos are really good, the kraken, almost pastor, the merman, beanie seagull, swim shady & double dragon are all really flavorful. The 2 burritos I've had are amazing. My favorite is the Fat Man(fried chicken, bacon, black bean, pickled jalapeños, cabbage, rice & cheese), but the Willie Makeit(ribeye, lido de gallo, cucumber slaw & feta cheese) is really good too. & the empanadas are definitely worth trying; I haven't been disappointed yet! I just wish they delivered. Uber Eats no longer delivers from this location to my house. I used to order food from here faithfully via Uber Eats every Friday & Sunday night.

On their billboard they advertise themselves at "Taco's that don't suck". This incredibly low bar was still too high for them to pass. As a new resident to Philadelphia I think this might quantify as my first mugging. The "crispy" chicken was bland cheap thigh meat, it was neither crispy nor tasty. The "slaw" was equally bland and despite the quantity and variety of items smushed inside of the taco each and every one was as unremarkable and bland as the last. We also had the misfortune of trying the "kimchi" tacos which had the only non-bland topping of the evening, the (surely store bought) slightly flavorful kimchi. But the other flavors were simultaneously unpleasant and unremarkable with a strange sweetness clashing with the kimchi flavor. Unfortunately we ordered the 16$ guacamole as well. This was astonishing in it's blandness. Everything from the cold and overcooked flour tortilla chips to the unseasoned and staggeringly absent in flavor guacamole. I don't think this restaurant had even a basic understanding of the roll of salt in seasoning. In my 37 years of life I have never once struggled to down an endless series of tacos no matter the quality but this evening I met my match. Each bite was more laborious than the last. On the sole positive note the 5 dollar LaCroix were actually cold and shockingly they hadn't found a way to screw them up as well. Somehow this unpleasant experience totaled 60 dollars, but perhaps that is the price you pay to get "heffe'ed" and learn how to avoid tourist traps like these.

the first time I ordered from here it was honestly amazing and delicious. but lately it's been so nasty and dry and not flavorful. I don't know if they change the cooks but please do better
I had the "Steak it Easy" special this Friday 8/4/23.
the meat was very tough and had a lot of grizzle. 2 small tacos for $15 I expect better quality ingredients than that. El Lemon is much better!
I have this place for lunch every few weeks.
The tacos and nachos are always solid with a good portion size. Only downside is that it is cash only (they do have an ATM just outside).
