Georgia Brown's Washington Reviews from The Last Year
Service was excellent.
Food presentation and taste was great! Ambiance was warm and cozy. drinks were amazing!
I am a fan!!! First of all, Lance was the bartender we met
I am a fan!!! First of all, Lance was the bartender we met who took care of our drinks. He made such good old fashions! Delicious and perfectly balanced. Second, great vibes in the spot, good decor, a good diverse crowd which I always love. We went on a Friday at 730p. The service was great. Forgive me for not remembering our lovely server's name. She was lovely! Everyone really liked their food! We got the tomato appetizer, and catfish appetizer, oh and deviled eggs (actually deviled eggs was the only thing that didn't impress me and wouldn't get again). As far as entrees, we got the pasta, salmon, a rice and shrimp dish, Devil Shrimp, steak salad, and gumbo! There were 7 of us btw lol. Everyone really enjoyed their food. Good portions. Almost everyone wiped their plates except for my Mom's gumbo, which she ended up taking home. Apparently live jazz on Wednesdays and happy hour 4-7 Monday through Friday. I'd definitely going again, likely for happy hour with Lance next time! Those old fashioned drinks were impressive! We ordered them with Old Creek bourbon and ordered at least three rounds they were so good! Thank you to everyone on the team for a great time!!!
Great food, great drinks, and nice ambiance.
The only notable improvement is the need for more responsive service.
My sister and I took our mom to DC for the day.
This was the perfect place to end our day. The service was absolutely lovely. Our server was very pleasant and super helpful when we asked for input. We were there in the late after on a Saturday just before their dinner rush. So the ambiance was just right. Now let's talk about the food. It was yummy! Of course there was sweet cornbread style for the table. We snacked on it while waiting for our entire. I am pescatarian so I went with the "Devil" Shrimp: butter sauce crab stuffed, sautéed spinach, mac & cheese, smoked pepper. It was mouth watering good. My mom and sister both went with buttermilk fried chicken and they loved it. We couldn't decide on dessert so we had three (don't judge lol). We had the peach cobbler, banana pudding and the banana bread. If I had to pick one it would be banana bread. It was just perfect. If I'm ever in the DC area again I would for sure revisit.
This place was SO delicious! I ordered the baked chicken
This place was SO delicious! I ordered the baked chicken and my date got the seafood pasta. There was so much flavor in the chicken and it was juicy just yummy. The potatoes on the side were sooo good, I've been trying to recreate it at home lol. The seafood pasta was great as well! Service was amazing and so was the vibe of the restaurant. I will definitely come back.
Georgia Brown's definitely charmed me with its ambiance.
The decor was inviting and stylish, and it created a truly welcoming feel. The service was another highlight - friendly and attentive throughout the meal. As for the food itself, it was good, but didn't quite live up to the price point. While the flavors were there, the presentation felt a bit underwhelming. Also, I also had some stomach issues after my meal. Overall, it was a pleasant experience thanks to the wonderful atmosphere and service. With some tweaks to the plating and a focus on post-meal comfort, Georgia Brown's could easily be a 5-star spot.
NOT LIKE IT WAS
When this place first opened it was one of my favorites. Last night will be my LAST TIME to visit this place. The food was not the best I had been during their lunch menu and for the first time I noticed that I was overcharged for a drink and also charged for the items used to make the drink. It seems they feel they need to INFLAT there prices to make up for Covid???? That was two Years ago and NO ONE likes having the tip added to the bill I always give a tip but IT'S MY CHOICE OF THE AMOUNT.
Low country Southern cooking is great!
Three of us for dinner. We started with catfish fingers and fried green tomatoes. Then Shrimp and grits, Carolina Gumbo and Seafood Penne. The appetizers were great---hot from the fryer and very tasty. The gumbo was filling and very good, as were the shrimp and grits. The penne sauce was rich and the seafood was plentiful. Very filling. And don't miss the peach martini---I had one here 20 years ago and they're still fabulous! For desserts we shared the bread pudding and peach cobbler. Both were excellent.
Delicious!
What a great dinner. Lovely ambience, great cocktails and the food was excellent. We enjoyed the caesar salad, the fried chicken and the country fried steak. All delicious. Couldn’t resist the bread pudding and peach cobbler. We will return.
The vibe up in this place is like being wrapped in velvet.
This place and food seriously feeds the soul. I could have stopped with the fried green tomatoes and while not fool I would have been sated. Not one bite of anything dissatisfied. You must eat here.

Everything was delicious, and both entrées were highly spiced and perfectly paid with the sides.
Bustling restaurant with sounds of live jazz buzzing
Bustling restaurant with sounds of live jazz buzzing through the building. Recommend securing a reservation before visiting but worth the planning. The food came out hot and delicious. We enjoyed the catfish fingers to start along with house made cornbread. Then the seafood penne and country fried steak as main courses, both delicious and flavorful! Can't wait to try brunch at Georgia Browns!
Went here on Easter for my friend's birthday brunch and
Went here on Easter for my friend's birthday brunch and loved it. There was live music playing and the decorum was very classy. Our waiter was friendly and made sure to keep the bottomless mimosas coming. The brunch includes an appetizer, entree, omelet, and dessert platter. I got the fried green tomatoes for my appetizer and it was definitely my favorite part of the meal. I know it's simple but it was made to perfection. For my entree I chose the fried catfish and grits. It was okay but I wish the fish had more seasoning. They have an omelette station where you go up and get your omelette but I decided I didn't want one. A couple of my friends got one and it looked delicious. The dessert platter was mid; nothing amazing but it wasn't bad. It consisted of things like pecan pie and cheesecake. I really think the ambiance won me over but I'm not mad at the chef. Also, the saxophone player came to our table playing, "Happy Birthday" to my friend and it was lovely!
If you love good food and especially jazz, Wednesday evenings are the best at Georgia Browns!
The atmosphere, food service and especially the Jazz Band on Wednesday evenings were all awesome! We had a wonderful evening.
Delightful Southern Experience at Georgia Browns (Georgia, Georgia.... - Ray Charles voice)
During my visit to DC, I had the pleasure of dining at Georgia Brown's and it was nothing short of remarkable. The restaurant exudes Southern charm, right from its location at 950 15th St NW to the live music that fills the air with warmth and energy. As a first-time guest, I was greeted with excellent service; the staff was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring a memorable experience. I savored their Buttermilk Fried Chicken, accompanied by smoked turkey collards and mac & cheese, which was comfort food at its finest. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and had a delightful crunch, while the sides were rich and satisfying. Their Happy Hour offerings and the convenience of their location, easily accessible via McPherson Square and Farragut North metro stops, make it an ideal spot for both casual after-work gatherings and special occasions. I was also impressed with their commitment to service workers, adding a 20% service charge to every tab, with 18% going directly to the staff. This transparent approach to tipping is commendable and speaks volumes about their ethos. Georgia Brown's is a treasure in Washington, DC, for anyone looking to indulge in authentic Southern cuisine with a side of excellent hospitality. I look forward to returning to enjoy more of their delectable menu and warm atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Pricey but delish
Came here for Sunday brunch. Great atmosphere with live jazz and friendly servers. Kind of pricey at $55 pp and 20% tip added in. But food was very good and plentiful. I had shrimp bisque to start which was excellent. Friends had fried green tomatoes which they enjoyed. Next came biscuit and gravy with a poached egg on top. Egg was done to perfection. Desert was a trio of banana pudding, bread pudding and carrot cake. We were all so full could hardly eat but banana was the best. I will definitely be back.
Will visit again
Made a reservation through open table for day of. Nice restaurant not far from our hotel embassy suites. Lively upbeat music, fabulous service and delicious food
Terrible
The food was terribile, wi fi didn't work, the Bill was too High. 80$ for each is really too High for food that you can not eat because of bad quality and horrible taste.
Meh - but maybe better next time
Rather disappointing experience but maybe we'll give it another try next time we're in town ... Average tasting food where the appetizer was the highlight (Fried Green Tomatoes): bland pork chop, ok tasting Buttermilk Fried Chicken, good Carolina Gumbo. Brandy and whiskey served in chilled (and one dirty!) glasses and band was on the loud side are minor issues but important for the prices posted.
Happy hour meal
I booked a table for happy hour as we wanted an early dinner due to jet lag but didn't realised it was in the bar. However, the meal we chose was more then we had expected. We have the ceviche, calamari and I had the jerk chicken burger. All 3 dishes were spot on. Very tasty, crispy and filling. Our bar tender was run off his feet but managed to accommodate us as well as being very friendly. Worth going.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!

Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.

Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
