I have given Dukes so many chances to impress me and each time I leave unimpressed. There is always something wrong with one or two dishes that we order. The complimentary bread comes with a rock hard block of butter. The fish tends to be under cooked or rubbery. One time the coating came completely off of my fish! I had a special that was a Thai cod that was so intense that it tasted bitter. The chowder is NOT award winning!! The music overhead was something from the 80's and extremely depressing. To the point I wanted to leave. I felt like I stepped back in time to a restaurant that may have been a go to but is now trying to stay relevant without the pizazz. The prices on the food do not reflect the quality. Extremely overpriced!! The servers have always been the best part of the visit. They are professional and punctual. I do not recommend this restaurant. The prices are too expensive and the food is mediocre. There are many other places that feel more enjoyable and have better tasting meals. I literally left Dukes depressed from the music and disappointed from the terrible tasting meals with a very large check!!!

We dined here for the first time on another return trip to Tacoma from So Cal. The food was outstanding. The Salmon was cooked perfectly not over cooked like many restaurants. The waitress Jocelyn was very attentive and had the answers to all of our questions such as the different sauces. The Carrot Cake was delicious! They even have a separate Glutten free menu. We will return on another trip
This is our go to for special occasions.
We love the crab cakes, the chowder, crab stuffed halibut and just about everything. They are on the pricy side but we think it is worth it. BTW we always ask to sit in the main room facing across the bay rather than the side room. We just like it a bit better. Nice bar area, too. And very helpful and friendly staff. They help me with my dairyfree requests.

We took my wife's sister here for her birthday , and her husband. We had never been before and had made a reservation asking for a water view table. Happily we were given a table on the water, in a quiet corner. We were surprised at how quickly the food came, and everyone found it all to be delicious, and the best clam chowder! The warm bread was also great, and the French fries are more like Jobos, really nice. Most memorable was the friendly, attentive service, checking on us without being annoying. At the end, the "birthday woman" was given a piece of pie with ice cream! Though it's over an hour away, we'll be going back!

My partner and I dined at Duke's to celebrate, and we had one of the most wonderful dining experiences we've ever had! Not only was the food and ambience delightful, but our evening was made truly unforgettable by our server, Wade. His recommendations were incredible, his knowledge of the menu expansive, and his dad-jokes perfectly sprinkled throughout dinner. He made us feel so welcome and we will definitely be returning again! Thank you, Wade!
When the deck isn't open, limited waterview seating.
Excellent service, very attentive, water glasses kept full. Little loud due to music. The lobster chowder had lovely flavor, but heavily salted. The sweet potato fries arrived cold and were heavily salted (note to management: let the cold fries that were on my plate stay on my plate, and bring hot fries-- don't ask me to turn them in in exchange for hot fries; it was a bit awkward). The replacement fries were piping hot and crispy for sweet potato fries, but again, overly salted. The crab cakes are flavorful, as was the crab cake sandwich, but in the sandwich the crab is overwhelmed by the other ingredients, so I if you want to really taste the crab cakes, don't get the sandwich. Same for the spinach and crab dip-- one barely tastes the crab. Excellent sourdough bread! Very sour with a lovely, not-too-crunchy crust! The tartar sauce is delicious-- creamy and herbed (tarragon?) and far superior to standard tartar sauce.
Great
The food was the absolute best! The service was amazing and the prices were great. The clam chowder and the bread Yum!!!
Great food in a convenient location
The food was great. The staff was so nice and the patio area was really great. Went for a small late dinner sort of thing, but really glad we stopped by.
Great Service
Stopped in last night for something on the lighter side as we had eaten out for lunch already. The place has some nice decor but at 8pm the place was winding down and clients were finishing up. Could be the attached mall. We ordered the crab cake sandwich and classic clam chowder. The crab sandwich was good with large thick cut fries. The clam chowder came hot and was a decent size bowl. Lots of meaty bits but a definite strong smokey bacon overtone. All in all pleased with our choices but fell short of excellent. Service was great- thank you Pedro.
Chain Food Vibe and Chain Food Food
This restaurant came highly recommended by the hotel staff. I am normally leery of a mall restaurant but they were adamant it was great. The place looks great and the service was fantastic but the food was just ok. The menu has no real, fresh seafood options. Everything is serviced with some type of cover sauce. Let the seafood speak for itself. Don’t get me wrong. This isn’t a bad meal, it’s just not Seattle Seafood.
