Commander's Palace New Orleans Reviews from The Last Year
Mid at best
I went there after almost a decade. Compared to fine dining restaurants - food was mediocre at best and service was almost comically a hit and miss. Basic concepts like keeping a water glass full and serving food hot (as opposed to keep it waiting on the side for 6 - 10 minutes) left me wondering what was wrong with the operating model. Just disappointing.
Wow. Have not been there in about a decade. Mediocre food,
Wow. Have not been there in about a decade. Mediocre food, service - had to ask repeatedly for even water glass to be filled. Desert sat unattended for about 10 minutes while servers walked by. Unbelievable.....
i do not recommend going to this restaurant.
waste of time tbh and overhyped for no reason !!! the restaurant was super big, and there were several different dining areas, none of which felt too cramped/ crowded, regardless of it being a packed saturday night. the waiters were all very friendly! there is someone managing drinks, someone managing food, and a third person whose job i forget (sorry). as for the food itself, one word: middddd. i would not say anything was necessarily bad and totally inedible, but more so was just so mediocre. our group ordered two appetizers i believe, but neither were memorable at all for me to even remember. the pecan crusted fish was okay. just like fish with stuff on it. not bursting with flavor or anything. the quail was also okay. there was barely any meat to actually eat, so def keep that in mind. the bread pudding soufflé was odd.... i was excited for this, but it also just had a really odd flavor ? idk the taste was not enjoyable nor was the texture. there was some white foam inside the soufflé which somehow managed to taste like nothing. and then the bread part tasted like raw dough or something. hard to say. honestly, i have literally no idea why this restaurant is famous. we heard that this was a "must try" when visiting new orleans for the first time, and let me say this is more of a must avoid. try other local restaurants !!! any of them are probably better than whatever this institution was serving. save your money guys.
Jazz Brunch fun and delicious
Truly a festive atmosphere. Beautiful room, friendly and professional staff, incredible food, and not too expensive. Put on your nice clothes, have a Bloody Mary, enjoy a superb jazz trio (it was a delight to see Mr Jamil Sharif, as we had heard him at Snug Harbor the previous night). It was all good, but the cured salmon latke and the turtle soup were life-changing, and the blueberry pork cheeks were tasty. It’s hard to beat the famous bread pudding soufflé, but the limoncello cake gave it a run!
A southern hospitality experience
The food was good, but the service/experience was top notch. I had the most tender filet ever. The shrimp appetizer was delicious.
Exquisite dining experience
I believe this is one of the top fine dining spots in New orleans. Definitely has some history to it so that is great the service is impeccable. The food requires the right palette I am sure, some of it I enjoyed some of that I could do without but it was a great dining experience
An Iconic New Orleans establishment.
Possibly one of the best meals in the nation. Am I over reaching? I don't think so. There is a dress code, so keep that in mind. My family, a party of 3, went on a Friday night in July at 8pm. The place was packed and very noisy. We had reservations and only waited briefly. This place is large, old, and beautiful. We sat upstairs by the picture windows with the old living Oak tree. It was beautiful. The only detractor, is that it was very loud. Everything is loud in New Orleans but it was annoying for a meal of this caliber. We could barely hold a conversation. On to the food, for starters I had Commander's Creole Gumbo. As a rule in New Orleans, I eat as much gumbo as I can. This was a wonderful flavorful gumbo. It may have been the best during my trip, but I had a lot of great gumbo. They present your food perfectly. Servers come out and stand next to each guest to be able to plate the dish at exactly the same moment. My daughter had the Crisp Romaine Salad. She said it was the best salad she ever had. I tasted it; it was superb. My wife had a squash soup which was excellent as well. All three of us ordered the Pecan Encrusted Gulf Fish as a main. Prosecco poached jumbo lump crab over spiced New Roads pecan crusted fish with roasted corn, asparagus, grilled kale, melted leeks and whiskey spiked crushed corn cream. I know, how boring of us. We should have ordered something different, but that's what called to us. Superb again. The layer of delicate flavors and textures were a treat to enjoy. For dessert we had Creole Bread Pudding Souffle. A classic. I loved my meal here. I'm so happy we got to share this experience as a family. My wife and I ate here on our honeymoon and it was great to make a return visit with our daughter. As a bonus, we took the street car over from the French Quarter just to take in the full New Orleans experience. Go here. Enjoy. Plan your return.
Where's the Jazz?
I picked this brunch option because of Commander's Palace's renowned reputation for its jazz brunch. During our 2 hour brunch, we heard five songs during the band's single pass through for our area. Jazz aside, the rest of the experience was great. We loved the three course menu...pick your starter, entree, and dessert. Cocktails and service were also great.

Commander's Palace is an iconic restaurant located in the Garden District of New Orleans. I had this restaurant on my bucket list for the past two years ago, and finally went last month during their famous jazz brunch. The service from beginning to end is top-notch, and the waitstaff and manager were very attentive and sweet. Jazz musicians serenaded the guests, and made the ambiance lively and enjoyable. The food is best described as New South, traditional Southern dishes elevated with new twists. I had the gazpacho as my starter ( good); Eggs Sardou as the main course ( okay) and the bread pudding soufflé ( okay). I am beginning to realize that I much prefer Creole/ traditional seafood to Southern fare; and there is nothing wrong with that. It was a beautiful and enchanting place, just not my cup of tea.
Best experience of the trip
This was not our first time dining at Commander's Palace, but this was our first time in NOLA with our children so we did what we do when in NOLA and we visit the Palace. The service was impeccable, Justin and Jalen attended to our needs, and anticipated the ones we didn't voice. They shared what they normally prepare for kids but also offered the option for us to order off the menu and have the meal shared between the two of them. They had 0 Proof drinks for the kids that were garnished with rubber ducky's. My husband, an Old Fashioned connoisseur said his was expertly prepared. I had a French 75 , the pork chop and creme brulee for dessert. My husband had the quail and bread pudding souffle, both of my daughters had the filet, fries and a side of cabbage with ice cream for dessert. To cap off our evening, Justin patiently took several photos of our family in the courtyard and kitchen. A great and memorable family experience!
Just Average!
The Commander's Palace was disappointing. We expected better. The service was ok, at best. Celebrating our 50th. Anniversary in NOLA, we ordered Champagne. The Champagne came but without an ice bucket. It took a while before the Champagne was put on ice. The food is good. The bread pudding souffle was a standout.
Great food and experience!
It’s an experience! From the greeters to the festive environment to the wonderful servers who love their jobs to the impeccably prepared food- this place is a must if visiting New Orleans. Ah yes and the ‘discounted’ cocktails. Super friendly people and outstanding food. Would definitely come back and try new dishes!
What can I say, it's Commanders Palace, everything is five
What can I say, it's Commanders Palace, everything is five star here, hands-down. Although I'm trying, I can't find anything wrong so time to move on to booking the next reservation.
Celebrated my wife's BD at Commander's Palace and loved it.
We were seated upstairs and the ambiance made me smile upon entering the room. Our server took over from there to assist with perfect selections for our meal - everything was excellent. This was our first dining experience here and our expectations were easily surpassed. Dress up a bit and enjoy a throwback to a classy establishment in a beautiful area of the city.
One of the best dining experiences you will have.
Anything ordered will be better than your expectations. Brought my wife and 5 year old daughter this past visit. Rolled out the red carpet for my daughter and made her first experience something she still talks about. Thank y'all so much
Delicious! Gorgeous tree filled view in the special
Delicious! Gorgeous tree filled view in the special upstairs glass room...service great, food even better...best traditional NoLa dining!
Commander's Palace doesn't need a tourist to tout its
Commander's Palace doesn't need a tourist to tout its superb food and exemplary service. If you know, you know. That being said, not only is the price worth every penny, but I'd go so far as to say the airfare was worth it just to eat here. The meal from the Shrimp and Tasso, to the pecan crusted Hake, to the banana bread soufflé was Devine. To top that was the service provided by Hopper, Ta'khia, and the rest of the staff. It doesn't take much to make one table feel important but to make an entire dining room feel that way is commendable. Thank you to everyone at Commander's Palace. I now have another restaurant I need to travel from NY so I can enjoy your food and hospitality.
If you like to spend a lot of money on mediocre food, sure,
If you like to spend a lot of money on mediocre food, sure, eat here. We are world travelers and foodies so naturally we wanted to try this legendary experience. That being said I can comfortably say this is the only underwhelming food I've ever eaten at any pricy restaurant, and also in New Orleans. We had the turtle soup, this place is famous for it and it's just not that great. The meat was tasty but the dish as a whole was unforgettable. It would say it was similar to a thickened vegetable soup base with spicy seasoning. We didn't even finish it. Same with the second dish, burnt ends and shrimp. I have no clue how you mess up burnt ends. Actually the ends meat that came in that dish were the only thing good about it. The rest and veg were swimming in this sauce that again, somehow spicy and yet underwhelming. The suggested wine was really fantastic and the banana cream pie was good, nothing memorable though. The hospitality was world class, the staff was absolutely stellar from the moment we arrived. I would say this is the only redeeming quality about this place. We were seated on the second floor in an extremely loud back room. So loud we had to yell to talk. They had carpet on the floors, ewe. The decor looked like it needs a serious upgrade. But the worst part was that we were seated on the second floor and it literally smelled like a dirty dumpster on a hot day. I wish I were exaggerating. We were horrified! You know, the stinky sweet sour smell when an overly dirty dish cloth that's used to wipe a counter, that smell? I don't know how this could fly anywhere. I've never had bad food anywhere in NOLA. I didn't expect it to come from here. I'm so disappointed. Dirty, loud, over rated, underwhelming, and expensive? No thanks.
Trying this restaurant out
Ordered grilled center cut Creekstone Farms Filet 8 oz. Filet Black angus beef over New potatoes with smoked Acadian honey butter glazed baby carrots, finished with smoked Acadian honey butter glazes baby carrots. We ordered two of those dishes and for the dessert ordered old fashioned banana cream pie.
Great experience!!
The service was excellent, the food was unbelievably good and the atmosphere was top notch!! This was our first visit to Commander’s Palace which was booked by a friend who had been there multiple times. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone going to New Orleans! You will not be disappointed! It was the highlight of our weekend getaway!!
Really not sure why this place gets so much hype
Cool spot in the garden district, but I feel its relying on its historic aspects. Food was average, had four different dinners to taste, nothing stood out. The place is enormous but well put together, staff is everywhere which is nice. But with so many choices in this town this would certainly not be on my short or long list. Ate there 10 years ago and it was much better. Prices are very high, it seems like it’s there for folks on special occasions because of its history, i wont be going back.
Like a raucous gator hunter in a tux
A local institution, Commander's Palace is ground zero for old school N'awlins fine dining. The titular estate in which the restaurant resides is homey and gorgeous; the interior sprawls up several staircases and into many chandelier'd rooms. It has more than a hint of the haunted house vibe--the dress code is there to protect your embarrassment. Jeans would seem profoundly out of place. Service is swift, jovial, and accommodating. Everyone on the staff seems genuinely invested in your good time. Outside of the building the restaurant's name is spelled out in bulbs on a haint blue board. This kitschy signage is a fitting advertisement for the food, which is loud and friendly first, functional and gustatory second. Prudhomme and Lagasse are long gone, but Commander's Palace is dedicated to delivering their classics with panache. The menu is like a Greatest Hits compilation with a few new tracks thrown in for good measure--some of which, as with THE BEST OF STING, are much better than the average of the previously recorded material. (I happen to like "When We Dance" very much.) Turtle soup is a totally unnecessary dish, and it isn't exactly life-changingly delicious either, but it exists here as an exotic token of a bygone era. The prevalence of such tokens at CP is what qualifies it as a tourist experience more than a restaurant. This is not a knock, and this is not to suggest that the food isn't excellent. (My jerk-seasoned pork chop was an exquisite umami garden, particularly when washed down with my glass of top shelf Vacqueyras.) But the atmosphere and the majority of the dishes have a strange ersatz quality--I felt more like a child pretending to eat in a fancy restaurant than an adult actually dining in one. (Then again, maybe this was because the staff tied balloons to my table in observance of my birthday?) 'Tis, in the immortal words of Graham Chapman, a silly place. But there are times when we could all use a little more silliness.
This is my first time at commanders palace in the past two
This is my first time at commanders palace in the past two years. Typically when I go, I really have a good time, the waiters are amazing, and my friends and I leave very happy after our 25 cent martinis. Unfortunately, this time I cannot say the same. When we arrived and didn't have menus on our table, I then asked the waiter if we could get some menus, and he proceeded to say that we were rushing his service, and that he would get them to us and hurry along since we are in such a rush , he then proceeded to roll his eyes, and then go get the menus. Throughout the remainder of the service, he proceeded to be curt and rude. It made us feel that he did not really want to answer any more questions about some of the menu items. It was very unfortunate that this was the service that we got today, since this would probably be our last time at commanders for a while as we are all planning to move in the next few months. Maybe this waiter had a bad day. I'm not sure, but hopefully nobody else had a similar experience to us that day like. I will probably be back as this is a New Orleans staple restaurant but very disappointed with the service that I received today.
I typically enjoy commander's palace.
I went with a group of friends today for lunch to celebrate matching last week for medical school and we enjoyed the lunch special, steak, and of course the 25 cent martinis. However today the service was less than desired. When asking our waiter for a menu and straws for our drinks, he rolled his eyes at us and asked "are y'all in a rush or something?"very rudely. Then throughout lunch we were sometimes apprehensive to even ask him questions or for assistance because almost each time he would make a face at us and was very curt and rude. I've never experienced something like this before, especially at such a nice restaurant.
This restaurant has been on my bucket list for decades!
This restaurant has been on my bucket list for decades! Finally made it to NOLA & got to experience it. Didn't disappoint! First, definitely make a reservation early! Nice to see a fine dining restaurant still enforcing a dress code. Main dining room is large, well done with a Classic atmosphere. Staff is eager to please, & knowledgeable. Very Extensive Wine List! Food was Fantastic! On point throughout! The Shrimp and Grits although it goes by a fancier name was The Best shrimp and grits I've ever had!!! And for such an iconic, popular, Great restaurant the prices were actually fairly reasonable compared to others in this category! I was impressed, & Very Satisfied!
The food was outstanding, service even better at this
The food was outstanding, service even better at this timeless establishment! A once in a lifetime experience despite the bread which came from Subway.
Amazing service and the food had great flavor! My husband
Amazing service and the food had great flavor! My husband got the pork chop and I got the filet. The desserts were to die for. You must try the whiskey bread pudding soufflé and the crème brûlée.
Commander's Review
We went to celebrate a joyous lifetime achievement of on of my sons. We searched for a venue. My wife, who is from NOLA, suggested this would be the place. To give a bit of background, last time we dined at Commanders, the service was so poor, they insisted on comping the meal at my next reservation. While I appreciate the gesture, that is not what I do. I never feel good about it. It is far more important to have a good experience and hopefully the dining establishment will use that voiced experience to rectify the issue. Unfortunately, I did not leave a review for that experience. During the previous experience, the service was beyond poor. While I appreciate changing flatware between courses, if insufficient staff is available for the execution, they should not attempt the gesture (which I would expect an establishment desiring a solid reputation). Short version, no flatware came out prior to the meal. The food was then cold. And then, I still had to remove myself from the table, find a waiter, and kindly ask them to bring it out for the cold food. It was then brought out with a stare and a bad attitude. It was not even worth requesting warm food as a huge damper was put on the meal. Additionally, the cocktails were brought out after the appetizers arrived. Not a lot of time to socialize with my family (except when the food was cooling down). For this next go around I was going to have positive energy and a good attitude. However, it was even worse (can you believe). Initially I thought it was just me but that was not the case when by the end of the meal, all 7 of us were brought down and feeling a bit glum. When the waiter came to me first for my drink order, I directed him to the 3 ladies at the table as that is how I have been brought up. I got rolling eyes and a sarcastic look. He then proceeded to tell me that he was here to take care of us all and still expected I ordered first. Commanders, please educate your staff on etiquette. My first drink order was not correct. More eye rolling. As our waiter was not to be seen for a while, we did order a drink from another waiter (which never came) and were not so nicely explained for the martini lunch special, we can only order from our waiter. More eye rolling. While not all bartenders are created equally, a martini is an elegant drink with a special presentation. Each martini that came out was the spirit, ingredients, and ice cubes in a martini glass. Kind of like what we had at my fraternity parties in college. If the staff is not available to create a proper martini lunch, then it should not be offered. More bread requested and another eye roll. One of the most ridiculous moments came when we requested a picture of our table to celebrate this life achievement. It seemed like a massive request. A single shot with an iPhone...and another eye roll. Please explain the concept of affability to your staff. The poor affability was contagious and unfortunately by mid meal we were all brought down while trying to celebrate. It was so significant, we chose not to make any further requests and end the meal as soon as reasonably possible. Later that evening we went to Desi Vegas for a late dinner. Our waiter was Kevin. Apparently he has been there for 10 years. His service was impeccable and he relayed a very positive vibe. There was never any eye rolling. It seemed he was there to assure we had a great experience every step of the way. Brennens, you may want to see if you can hire him to educate your staff on etiquette, affability, and customer service. Kind of a finishing school for your employees. The positives of the meal were the genuinely celebratory ambiance and the consistency of the food. Hopefully as a family we will have many more great events to celebrate. We just need to figure out where.
Wonderful experience of a classic New Orleans institution.
Jazz brunch has a great menu to choose from and the Cochon De Lait Eggs Benedict was delicious (if a little heavy on the pork). The gumbo was perfect, but the soup of the day - sweet potato something - was a bit thick/heavy. It was our first experience with Eggs Sardou, so nothing to compare it to, but it was pretty good. I've since seen it on the menu at several restaurants and would love to see it with the artichoke heart not fried...I think it's unnecessary. Bread pudding and cheesecake desserts were fantastic! Service is over the top and I found our waiter to be a bit snooty, but the other staff were warm and lovely. So glad for this lovely experience!
We visited CP today for lunch.
Besides the appeal of the menu, the 25 cent martinis also caught our eye. Our party of four absolutely loved our food choices along with the outstanding desserts. But, what really stood out was the exceptional service. A well deserved shout out to Keke and Macy who were the real stars of the day. They provided friendly and welcoming service. Thanks CP for a very memorable birthday lunch. Thanks again to Keke and Macy for making our lunch even more special.

One of the grandest restaurants and training ground for many famous chefs.
My parents and I were looking for a nice dinner reservation
My parents and I were looking for a nice dinner reservation in the city and were luckily able to grab a Sunday night reservation while driving to New Orleans Saturday afternoon (I had checked the week before and was unable to find an opening so I would encourage people to keep checking closer to when you are coming in!) I knew that this was a pretty classic New Orleans restaurant but had seen a few reviews about the food not being great or the service not performing in the way you expect. I'm writing this review to share that we had a wonderful time with great service. We were taken upstairs (no elevator available) and sat in a beautiful dining room overlooking some magnolia trees. For appetizers, we ordered the cauliflower and the fried oysters. Both of which were delicious but admittedly pretty small servings for what you pay for them. For entrees, my family then ordered the steak, pork chop, and Pecan Crusted Fish all of which were prepared well and were delicious! We were told when we sat down that to order two of the special dessert options you would have to let your waiter know when you ordered your meal because they took some time to prepare. We greatly enjoyed the Bread Pudding Soufflé and the Strawberry Shortcake and appreciated the unique way both of these were prepared. Our waiter and the other waitstaff assisting him were very attentive and helpful and created a wonderful environment for a great evening. All of this to say, the couple of negative reviews about this place almost kept me from coming but I am glad that they didn't. It was a great experience and I would definitely come back!
Sticking with my original review.
Management never followed up with me. Truly disappointed
The A Team Doesn't Work on Monday Nights
Commander's Palace is my favorite restaurant in New Orleans. However, my most recent visit proved that they are not immune to an off night. First we had a very long wait for the bottle of wine we ordered. After ordering our meal, our first course came fairly quickly and then we became invisible to the two waiters working our table. We had an extremely long wait for our main course and it only arrived after the waiter finally came by our table and was surprised we did not have our dinner yet. She quickly returned with our entrees and you could immediately tell they were very cold and had been sitting someplace unserved for quite a while. We told the waitress they would have to try again and to her credit she immediately told the floor manager of the issue. The manager was quickly at our table, apologized and said we would not be charged for the entrees. New freshly made entrees were at our table very quickly (probably pulled from other orders in the kitchen). The food was as good as it always is at Commander's but it just wasn't their finest hour. The manager did a great job in rectifying the issues with the Kitchen and waitstaff.

How about the most special evening you can imagine? Don't come for quick service or In-N-Out an hour make this an evening with the family that you remember forever with special dinner options that change monthly service that will be at every corner and attentive care with every order that you make. The old home field gives an historic element that is irreplaceable, and every corner has some special history of the home that reminds you that you're just one of many millions have eaten at the historic restaurant. I would definitely advise the people at your table to order different items to ensure that you get to have a treat of the many special entrées appetizers and desserts that one can imagine. Make sure to order the long lead desserts early on in the meal even when you first see them to have a couple options for the end Come here for a special event birthday anniversary
Terrible…. Don’t waste your money.
Worst restaurant experience in New Orleans.. Our table was cheap plastic covered in white cloth. The leaf in front of where I was sitting was not even level and my food would slide towards me the entire meal. Our waiter David was pompous from the start and seemed put off by having to wait on a table with three children. The turtle soup tasted like it was out of a can. The bread which we were told would be out with the drinks didn’t make it to the table until we were almost finished eating and I reminded David we still had not received it. Then it was tossed on the table wrapped in a napkin. This was suppose to be a nice dining experience. If I wasn’t spending so much money I would have thought I was at Dick’s last resort. There are plenty of good places to eat in New Orleans. Don’t waste any money going to this one.
Delicious!
This lunch was the best overall meal we had when in New Orleans! The food was amazing and we loved the band walking around to each table to perform.
Fantastic Dining Experience
Truly a special restaurant where the service and food are spectacular. We had been here before the pandemic, and now with the pandemic a bit more behind us, we went again, and had an extremely enjoyable meal. I ordered the corn fritters with shrimp for an appetizer, and ordered a second one for my main entree. My husband had fish, and both of us had the bread pudding. The food was delicious as were the special martinis for $5.00 and the reasonably priced wine. We enjoyed the ambiance even though the restaurant was crowded on a weekday.
TLDR: Great service, food is hit or miss.
Pricey, but fun experience for special occasions. Book reservation month + in advance. We dined here for my birthday while visiting New Orleans. I made a reservation one month in advance, and on a Sunday night, the only reservation available was 9pm. The restaurant has Old South charm. There is a specific dress code (posted on the reservation section of the web site), so make sure you read up on that before you arrive. Despite the need for fancy attire, this place isn't stuffy. There is a light-hearted, jovial atmosphere inside the restaurant, with a lot of older folks getting loud and a little rowdy. We were warmly greeted when we arrived, and although we were 15 minutes early, our table on the 2nd floor was ready and we were sat. As we walked to our table, every server along the way greeted us. Once we were sat, there were balloons at the table for my birthday. All the servers on the 2nd floor wished me a happy birthday. My only issue with the service was our server told us that when we placed our order, we would have to order everything-appetizers, entrees, and desserts-at once. Later on, another server, at the table next to us, allowed her table to order by course as they ate. This would have worked much better for me because I was stuffed after the appetizers. Ok, so let's get to the important stuff-the food and drinks. Cocktails were great. The Hokkaido Scallop Crudo appetizer was fantastic. The flavors were really interesting. The hickory smoked cauliflower and gulf shrimp & white bean soup were incredibly salty. The dressing on the Ponchatoula Strawberry Salad didn't taste good to me at all (brandy buttermilk punch) and seemed too heavy for a fresh salad. The Grilled Center Cut Creekstone Farms Filet was delicious. We ordered medium rare, and it came out more on the rare side, which my bf loves. A guest that doesn't like rare steak would have been unhappy with the cook. The Ponchatoula Strawberry Shortcake was amazing, but by the time it came, I was too full to really enjoy it.
DON’T GO! Very disappointed!!
DON’T GO!!! I had high expectations and got low results. The service was terrible. The food was average. I guess it’s turned into a tourist trap. The glory days are over!!!! What a shame. The whole family was disappointed.
Always a special occasion!
When i mentioned that i dont eat bell peppers the server made a special trip to ask the chef what was pepper free. Very professional and well run. One of the owners came to the table and welcomed us. Formal and elegant
Amazing bite worth the price
The service was amazing and each bite of food that we had great. The drinks were strong and the team did a great job to make us feel welcome. The Bread Pudding soufflé with the whiskey cream was the show stopper that you must have.
Demoted! Ensign's Palace is closer to the mark for us, unfortunately.
Whenever my wife and I take a trip to New Orleans we always make the time to eat here. My wife has always loved the attention to detail, the over the top service, the delicious food...most all of which was missing from the last time we dined there. One of the fun parts about eating here was the number of people they have to attend to your needs during the meal. There was always someone ready and willing to help take care of you at any time and they all worked like a well oiled machine. While the number of staff hasn't appeared to diminish, the quality of attentiveness and service most certainly has. We were seated in a what I would call a high traffic area where our table had people walking by on two of the four sides. We were just across from the wall which had at least 3 service people by it ready to go at any time, and yet when my wife excused herself to the rest room and left her napkin on her chair no one did anything about it. In the past they would come over, pick it up, fold it and place it back on the table for her return while they pushed in her chair. I counted 5 servers with free hands pass by before a middle-aged man in an all blue suit came waking by and he himself make the proper move to fix the napkin. Now I know what you are saying, this seems a petty item to take issue with. Well yes, it is. And I fully stand by my criticism. Commander's Palace is meant to stand out as a glorious homage to all that was good in the history of New Orleans, and all it's finest ornamentation. When the service starts to go and become just like any other restaurant I feel like it starts to loose it's luster. There were a couple of other issues with how the servers interacted with each other during our meal but I think I've made my point. The other disappointing part was the entree of my wife's meal. Overall I would say the meal was very good from my point of view. We started with Turtle Soup and Shrimp & Tasso Henican. Both were delicious. When the sherry hits the soup broth it's an amazing smell and if you were staying away from the Shrimp & Tasso Henican because it has okra, do not be afraid. It's a delicious plate of food that you will truly enjoy. My main was the Marseilles to Morocco and I loved it but my wife got the Bronzed Redfish and left over half undone. Either the dish was sitting too long or they over cooked it to begin with but the "mirror pond of caramelized Breaux Bridge crawfish fond" had congealed to a dull reddish brown and the entire dish was over salted. We went on to a cheese course and tried all three of the offerings. We enjoyed them all but were disappointed at the serving of them. We received more rind then cheese on some of them. The desserts were good. the souffle was delicious but the cheesecake was meh. Will we go back the next time we come, sadly I think probably not. New Orleans has too many talented chefs running amazing restaurants to give up a meal on a place you're not sure of anymore.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!
Worked flawlessly!
Worked so well! I was a bit nervous, but everything went very smoothly. purchased the reservation, and got into the restaurant seamlessly.
Love this app!
So glad I came across this app :)
Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res
instead of waiting weeks I got my 4 charles reservation instantly
Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
