This place is great.
It is my go to when in town and want to take clients out but not be fancy or stuffy. They have a great patio out back that is so relaxing just want to hang out there all night. The food no matter what I have tried from the sizzling steak on a rock to guacamole had been so good. My clients rave about this place as well.

It is supposed to be high end but the food tasted that of something on 8th.
Absolutely five star restaurant atmosphere inside was great.
We ate at an outside table overlooking the pond. Service was really good and the food was outstanding. If you are a foodie, this is the place to go.
It's a fun environment but that's about it.
Overpriced food. I ordered an old fashioned and it was straight whiskey with just an orange slice . My husband ordered a steak and mashed potatoes and is now dealing with food poisoning. The valley has much better places to go without being so overpriced with much better quality food.
My wife picked this place for her birthday dinner.
We got there just in time to take full advantage of the happy hour deal, buy one drink, get one free. She ordered the special they had that day, the California Sea Bass, and I picked the Scallops they came as four large ones. The scallops were great. The Sea Bass was quite good. Now the service there is first class. With sitting outside, viewing the lake, and enjoying a good meal, it was a good evening. Although my wife was not a fan of the bday cotton candy she got. She would have enjoyed something different.

Eat outside for a quiet dining experience
As SE Boise residents we love eating at Barbacoa. It is expensive, but if you want a special meal with a beautiful outdoor setting, this is a good choice. Two of us in our dining party are light eaters and we ordered from the Taco Bar menu. The other two ordered the Seafood Cioppino and the Seafood Pasta. We also ordered the tableside guacamole and the shrimp cocktail appetizers. Thankfully our table was outside. If you want a quiet, intimate dinner, an inside table is not for you. The acoustics in the restaurant are very loud and it doesn’t have an environment conducive to a date night, or quiet family dinner. Service was very attentive and not rushed.

We attended in a party of 20. The service was excellent. The mini tacos were very good. My steak was fine and the next time I would order it a bit more cooked. Our water glasses never were empty and the drinks were spot on. The men’s room was impossible to locate as there was no visible sign on the door. You just had to figure it out.

Amazing food! Overall a great experience. Husband and I were there for a special occasion. We decided to experience the steak on a stone and it did not disappoint! Thank you. Service was great

We come to Boise often, this was our first trip to Barbacoa. What a find! Atmosphere, service, selection, quality of food all 5 stars. We will be back for sure and we will be highly recommending this place to friends.

Excellent atmosphere, service and food. Our entire group got the filet mignon and each of us loved it. Will go back next time for sure.
Not so great
This restaurant is very inconsistent. A hit or a miss on any given night. Tonight it was very slow service, cold potatoes, steaks cooked incorrectly for two of us at the table. What used to be a nice restaurant experience has pretty much turned into a loud happy hour scene.

Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!

I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
