Art's Corner Cafe Ventura Reviews from The Last Year
We loved this place.
When we arrived, it was very crowded and no dining room seating. There were two seats at the breakfast bar so we sat there and I'm glad we did. This place has some of best breakfast around, and don't forget the cinnamon roll, and house-made preserves. Parking is not very convenient as it is a very small parking lot and a very small restaurant. You may have to wait a little But I guarantee you it is worth it.
My favorite breakfast joint ! Raul and the rest of the
My favorite breakfast joint ! Raul and the rest of the staff are amazing ! Yes , it does get busy but totally worth it . A must try is their cinnamon roll.
This place is such a good fine.
My husband and I love breakfast so any time we find a new spot to try, we are always open for it. Parking is very limited. A few cars can park in their parking lot area, but other than that it's all street parking. Since there are homes, it can be limited. We went shortly after they had opened. Most tables were already full. We were still able to get seated right away. So I will start off by saying, food was really good. The French toast was a little too sweet for my liking, but that was my husband's dish which he enjoys sugar. There was also a waitress who noticed my son and was playing peek - a - boo with him. I always enjoy those who are aware of their surroundings and help parents. It's not their job but it's very sweet. The following are things we noticed that we are now mindful about when we go again. The restaurant is small with low ceilings. When we went, there were two big parties, and they were a bit loud. Because of that I was feeling a bit claustrophobic, it was really loud. There was certain times those parties got loud to the point that my son would cover his ears. Someone took our drink order right away after being seated. After that, no one came to address us. To order food we did have to flag down a waiter, who then called ours. Overall, we did enjoy the place. The food was great. Next time we will go right when they open and see if that is helpful for us.
Excellent food.
Great energy. Lots of food and drinks options including full bar. Music choice good and youthful. Every traveler going that way should eat and drink there. Pleasant surprise for us for sure.
Spectacular ambiance - love the art - great food and over
Spectacular ambiance - love the art - great food and over the top service. Everything is homemade. Fluffiest pancakes ever. I'm in love! This feels like being in a movie or dying and going to heaven. Early bird breakfast $11 7-8:30 am.

Arts has been my and my wife's spot since it was recommended by the ladies at Lovewell. The food is great. The workers are fast and friendly. The remodel looks really good. We've been getting something different everytine and still never disappointed.
Food was great.
Drinks were great. Our waitress Stephanie was nice and on top of everything. 10/10 would recommend.

Cute place with good diner-type vibes and better than diner food. Large portions. Service was great.
Good food, good people.
Breakfast is excellent but lunch also has many really good options. The chicken sandos are great and can't go wrong with the burgers. Hand pressed paddies 100%

Food was very delicious! It gets pretty busy even during the week, but even with it being so busy, we got our food quick. The waitress was very tentative and sweet as well. Very nice place to stop for a bite in Ventura
In my breakfast era and trying all the Ventura spots.
Art's is at the top. Went on a busy Saturday. We sat the bar to get a quick seat and indulged in maybe the best breakfast ever. Everything was on point. Ordered the California egg white omelette, three breaky + pancake! Hash browns were crisp, good biscuit, and sourdough, but leave room for the German pancake! The pancake is legit. Thin, flavorful and what dreams are made of. Service is the best. Since we were at the bar we saw lots of action but were frequently checked on as well as coffee refills. Food was 4.5 and service a total 5. Order the pancake and enjoy!
The spicy Mexican eggs Benedict was so delicious.
Not spicy at all but had a good kick to it. I asked for mild salsa on the side and paired really well. I will definitely be coming back for brunch again!
Ate at Arts today for the first time since new ownership.
Ordered the country breakfast, which is biscuit, gravy over sausage patties and scrambled eggs and o'brian potatoes. I could not even cut the biscuit it was so hard, was like it was left in the microwave too long and got hard. The sausage also tasted old and re warmed up. I did let the waitress and I think one of the owners know. Just poor quality control, hope its not always like that, it was pretty crowded.
Delicious food.
It's a crowed place but that's the charm. It's packed and a little loud but well worth the cinnamon roll and the scrambles!!
A real diner feel.
Great food and wonderful service. Ordering the Cinnamon Roll is a must
We finally went to Art's Corner Cafe for the first time
We finally went to Art's Corner Cafe for the first time since it was sold and fixed up inside. The inside was set up a little different than before, but it was still basically the same. It's small inside so there's not a lot to work with. We went on a weekday morning on purpose to avoid the crowds. It was still pretty busy. I got the Denver omelette plus a corner cake and my wife ordered the bacon avocado omelette. We both enjoyed our omelettes, but I was pretty disappointed with the corner cake. It looked like the old corner cake, nice and thin, but the edge was not crispy as they used to be. I was really looking forward to the corner cake because I used to love them. I don't know maybe I just got a bad one. I'm willing to give Art's another chance because I really want to enjoy great corner cakes like I remember. Overall, the breakfast was very good and the service was excellent and everyone was very attentive to our needs and this is why I'm giving Art's 4 stars. I will return and order the corner cakes again hoping they will satisfy my memory.
Disappointed
I hate to leave bad reviews, but this was my friend and my least favorite restaurant so far. We had heard that it was so good. We shared everything. So we had 2 of the pancakes which said they were crispy. They were so tough and soggy that I couldn’t eat them. Next we had the veggie omelet with crispy bacon. So, more veggies than eggs and the bacon was limp and under cooked. The cinnamon roll had so much icing that it weighted down the soft cinnamon roll. But, the worst of all was the biscuit. It was SO dry and tough that we couldn’t eat it. There wasn’t enough butter and preserves to rescue it. The best item that we both liked was the 3-berry preserves. They were delicious. They were strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. Very nicely done. However, it wasn’t enough for us to ever go back again. We will stick to our usual breakfast place that is a winner every time. The service was excellent. Very expensive for less than satisfactory food.
