Aahar New York Reviews from The Last Year

Side note: Prices are based on current menu on their website and it was likely cheaper when we ordered back in late July. I went to this restaurant with a bunch of others sharing a whole bunch of dishes. That night, we mostly had lamb and the food overall here was pretty good though with many inconsistencies. The service was friendly and the inside is a bit dated but I presume they've been here for a while. I had a lassi to drink; specifically a mango one as it was the same price as the other lassis ($5.95) so why not and it was fine. Not super sweet which is good though it could be a little bit thicker. The menu in general is pretty standard Indian food though with a particularly nice selection of some Southern Indian meat dishes from areas such as Goa, Chettinad, and Kerala with a whole lot of coconut dishes with those dishes in general being better. For vegetarian dishes, I liked the Amchoori Bhindi ($17.95) with fresh okra, mango powder, turmeric and garam masala. I'm generally not a huge fan of okra outside of usually the Indian variations where I usually have it fried (aka kurkuri bhindi) and this was excellent. It lacked the slimy texture having been cooked down nicely and the mix of spices was nice with a hint of sourness. For smaller vegetarian plates, the Onion Bhajia ($8.95) with onion fritters, tamarind and mint chutney was OK. The portion size was decent but there was a bit too much batter for my liking. The rest of the food that was all lamb outside of the Garlic Naan. The Tandoori Lamb Chops ($29.95) with Australian lamb rib chops, Greek yogurt, garam masala, cayenne pepper and paprika were tender and tasty. A little bit the less thick part was burnt on the tandoor but I honestly didn't mind. It's not the best lamb chops I've had from Indian spots but it was still solid. The Lamb Pepper Fry ($19.95,) a Kerala style -lamb cooked with black peppercorn, curry leaf and whole dry paprika was better. Much more tender lamb and a tasty rather uncommon curry. Larger was the Nalli Xacuti ($25.95) with Australian Lamb shank slow cooked in spiced curry with tomato, onion, and home ground Xacuti spices. The gravy was excellent with coconut and some good heat but the lamb was unfortunately chewy with way too much fat. The Lamb Saag/Palak ($19.95) with fine spinach puree, onion, tomato, ginger, garlic and spices was just OK. The lamb was a bit chewy in it again and the saag wasn't as well spiced as some other spots. Similarly just alright was the Lamb Biryani ($20.95) with aromatic Basmati Rice cooked with spices and served with cucumber raita. The biryani wasn't as well spiced as other places but the lamb was more tender than some of the prior listed dishes. For sides, the Garlic Naan was fresh but wasn't strong enough. They also gave us some free Gulab Jamun which was a friendly gesture. It's hard to rate this spot. Some dishes were excellent and other dishes were just okay. We ordered many lamb dishes and some of them were tender and other ones were very chewy with one dish in particular having somewhat inedible lamb. If the place was more consistent, I'd probably give them a low 4 but it's hard for me to justify a 4 rating at a spot with this many faults. 3.3
another great restaurant closes its doors.
we loved loved their food. And used to have it almost every week. they have moved to ghost kitchens (delivery only) and we ordered last night and the food is just not the same. not as fresh and clean, it was almost felt like eating home made. sadly, we will not be ordering any more.

Get the butter chicken! Super flavorful, and you can adjust the spice. I got it medium, but I may have been able to get it a little hotter. Will definitely be going back to try it again!
Great place to go with a family, a date, or a large group.
The staff was very accommodating, even though our rag-tag group kept getting larger through the night. The waiters we quick and had a great sense of humor. I guess they are used to a lot of non-Indian customers because they always ask about the spice level or warn if they think it might be too much for your New Yawk accent. There are plenty of vegetarian / vegan options so it's a good place to go with a mix of meat eaters and naan meat eaters. Chicken, lamb and fish. There wasn't anything less than a great meal in any of it. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars, is that EAT CLUB (our group) reserves that only for "special services." Eat here! You'll love it!

This place is walking distance from Brooklyn Bridge 6-7 mins walk. The Fulton st subway is close by Me and my parents went here for lunch during our trip to NYC and we loved the food here The masala chaas was very good We had the lunch special . You need to mention the spice level and they cook it to Indian spice palette We ordered the palak matar paneer , aloo gobi and paneer masala . All the three were good Appetizers samosa and paneer tikka The paneer tikka was perfectly grilled giving a little Smokey taste and was perfectly paired with the mint chutney The service was quick. Wait time around 10 mins The ambience is decent .can go solo as well as with family

That's what AT sponsorships are for - and you are only paying 25% in the first year and then less in year two and three.
I beliebe @EternalAnt36 was sponsored by @PerceptiveWash44 and is now doing $25k/mo.
You can write on the top sellers profiles (type 'Top 10' in the searchbar) and then tap request sponsorship button after you found the guy or gal like to work with!
