8282 New York Reviews from The Last Year
8282's modern Korean cuisine met all my expectations!
8282's modern Korean cuisine met all my expectations! Although there were some hiccups with ordering, the food tasted just as good as it looked! Started off with the Grilled Octopus, which was super super tender but also charred very nicely on the outside. It was already well seasoned but the pepper puree and ricotta gave some extra sauce and spice. The tuna tartare featured a fragrant sesame oil dressing with a very crispy seaweed chip. The amount of tuna was great, although it had more onion/raw flavors that I had liked. The KFC had all the right flavors but the soy-garlic sauce was a little too much and quickly made the pieces soggy after the first bite. The perilla oil pasta was definitely a highlight for me! The angel hair pasta was cooked nicely and smothered in a soy/dashi-based sauce, topped with generous amounts of fresh crab meat and uni, as well as seaweed flakes. Loved the subtle sweetness of the sauce with the seafood flavors. The jjajang bori-bap had solid scallops on a bed of barley with black bean sauce, which was a novel combo for me in addition to the mushroom sauces. We initially wanted the pork galbi, but they brought us the dakgalbi kimchi-bap instead. It turned out to be quite yummy with a great balance between the gochujang, chicken, cheese, and kimchi rice. For drinks, the Pandan Paradise had prominent pandan flavors without being too sweet or artificial. The Aloe, It's Me had way more lemon flavors than aloe, but still refreshing overall. The restaurant mostly has tables for parties of 2 and 4 so might be more tight/difficult for larger groups. Some outdoor seating available as well. Staff were very nice and attentive.
All of the flavors were so balanced and so so good.
I think the perilla pasta and scallop jjajjangbap really stuff out for me because the flavors were so punchy but cooked perfectly. The fried chicken was also amazing but I think some of the pieces were a little unevenly sauced. With the sauce though, it was very yummy. The tteokbokki was just a touch too spicy but the cheese really cut through the spice nicely. The beet salad was also a really interesting and innovative take. I only wish there were a couple of other veggie options, but I would definitely want to come back!

The service was amazing-- Kat! The drinks were so good and food was even better. Honestly not a lot of Korean fusion places are that good so we didn't have any expectations, but everything we got was so good.

The food was amazing! I loved everything we got! A similar version to Thursday Kitchen but better IMO. The tuna tartare might be my favorite! The steak was good and it was a good portion as well. Will come back! Only downside is, we got sat in the corner and it was way too tight! Could barely move or get out! We did not have any personal space with the table next to us unfortunately
We had a wonderful celebratory dinner at 8282.
The food is delicious (the tuna tartare was particularly good, as was the steak). The cocktail list is also delightful. The staff was so kind to us and treated us to multiple surprises for my husband's birthday. Would highly recommend!
Clams were delicious!! Highly recommend.
I asked for extra white rice and mixed the leftover sauce from the clams in and loved it!

It's a small restaurant but everything was so good! We got the golden beets & kimchi salad, grilled octopus, boneless kfc, cheesy tteokbokki, littleneck soojebi, perilla oil pasta and dakgalbi kimchi bap. They're small dishes so it's nice to try a variety of dishes. Don't forget to order a side of bap to mix with whatever leftover sauce or soup you have. The servers were very friendly and explained a lot of the dishes we ordered. The cocktails were good too.
Food is amazing.
Everything is cooked very well and seasoned very well. The only complaint that I have is that the Rosso cocktail was unpleasant, it tasted almost like plain apple cider vinegar - unsure if it was meant to be that way, but I would say unpleasant for most people. It's recommended to get 6-8 dishes for 4 people and so you get to try a lot of things on the menu, almost like tapas! The service was great. The staff are very knowledgeable. The ambiance is quite nice. It is good date night spot or a place for foodie friends to check out!
Good Korean tapas place.
Friendly staff. Limited seating. not good for big groups. Recommend: octopus, tuna tartare, angel hair perilla

I took a gf here to celebrate her birthday right when they open at 5:30pm. I was early and the first one there, but with just a few minutes later became a full house. It's a pretty small place so it got packed quickly. There's a bar immediately on the right side tended by a beautiful bartender who was making aesthetically pleasing, and delicious cocktails. Service was impeccable. Our waitress explained the menu and checked in on us a few times to ensure that we were satisfied and in need of nothing. The food was great, but not roll your eyes back slap the table great. We ordered the tuna tartare, Grilled octopus, perilla oil pasta, and scallops with barley and truffle. Price was decent. Expected for the type of cuisine. 9/10 I do recommend.
I have had this restaurant on my Michelin bib gourmand
I have had this restaurant on my Michelin bib gourmand bucket list, and it did not disappoint. The restaurant was pretty small and packed on a Friday night. There was a cancellation, and the restaurant called me to inform me that there was an opening and I took full advantage of it. Although service was rushed, our server gave us the heads up about the deceivingly small dishes that were filling enough to share with 4 people. 1) Grilled Octopus - perfectly grilled octopus - a great start to the meal. 2) Chilean Sea Bass - the seabass was perfectly cooked, and my friend devoured this dish. 3) Dakgalbi Kimchi-bap - this dish was a fun yet beautifully presented. The server wanted to make this dish interactive where they would mix all the contents on the cast iron pan. This dish was so comforting and worth ordering. 4) Jjajang Bori-bap - Another delicious and comforting dish made for pescatarians. All the contents together was the perfect scoop. This is worth ordering. 5) L.A. Iberico Pork Galbi - I can see why this dish put this restaurant on the map. The pork is very tender and almost melted in my mouth. I'd probably put this dish on the top of my list for one of the best pork dishes I've had this year. 6) Ooyoo Pie - this pie is yummy, especially eaten fresh, this would probably be my least favorite dish of the bunch because the texture gets too gummy and difficult to cut when it gets cold. 7) Yuzu Matcha Magic, Blackberry Honcho Kiss, Jeju Old Fashioned and Aloe, It's Me - these cocktails were ordering, everyone loved them. Top 2: Yuzu Matcha Magic and Blackberry Honcho Kiss, unfortunately, no pictures of the cocktails I'd personally return to try the mocktails, Boneless KFC, Menbosha, Perilla Oil Pasta, and Injeolmi ice cream.

I live in the Lower East Side, and this has been on my "to check out list" for way too long. My girlfriend and I finally had the chance to have a nice evening dinner here. Everything was amazing. The ambience, service, cocktails, and the overall uniqueness of the restaurant was extremely memorable. I have eaten at many different Korean restaurants in NYC, and 8282 was unique and distinct. We sat at the bar, and had a great personal conversation with Erica, who was kind enough to share with us the story of 8282, and make menu and drink suggestions, all of which were on point. We will be back!

8282 served brilliantly curated Korean-fusion dishes in a causal, fine-dining atmosphere. My friends and I had visited for a birthday celebration and the service was incredible. Our waitress, Jess, was nonstop checking in on us, giving us recommendations on what dishes were popular, what drinks to try, and helped us take photos + celebrate. The owners were also incredibly nice as they would stop by a couple of times to introduce a dish or to help explain the plates. We were also graciously given the boneless Korean fried chicken on the house as well as a cake at the end of our meal for our friend's birthday! Aside from the service and the lovely setting, the food was amazing. While each dish was good, the tuna tartare stood out to us the most with the crispy seaweed and the hint of truffle in the tuna. The perilla oil pasta was also incredible, the noodles were light and thin while the sauce gave it so much depth and flavor. The scallops were also great, but I found that the mushrooms and the black bean sauce were the real star of the show. The cocktails were also great with all of our favorite being the "blackberry hongcho kiss" as it was sweet and not too strong. The "yuzu matcha magic" is definitely for anyone who loves matcha as the yuzu flavor is kept pretty light. As for the "aloe, it's me", the aloe flavor was lacking, but was still a very refreshing drink! I am definitely on planning coming back and I can't wait to try out the other dishes!
Fun intimate vibes for the restaurant.
It is pretty dim in the restaurant. We tried the scallops with barley and the perilla oil pasta which were there best sellers. We also got the octopus (tender and flavorful) and for the dishes here they're meant for light bites and tapa style. I really liked the scallops with barley ($27) . Service was great and the servers explained the menu and drinks to us.
Most of the food was excellent.
The iberico galbi was heavenly, and it's a must order. The clams soojebi was interesting, but not my cup of tea. The staff was friendly and attentive, the space is nice.

The service was very friendly and the Asian waitress and bartender were both very social, they were chatting with customers at the bar and even drinking shots with them, which was fun to witness. The sitting area is a bit cramped, and a few times I touched the hot bowl that the kimchi fried rice comes in, as well as got accidentally kicked by the customer seated next to me haha, so if possible, definitely call in advance and reserve a table seat for we were simply walk-ins. The clams were delightful and came in a tangy savory broth that my wife loved. The potato soojebi provided a nice mochi-like texture which helped balance the dish perfectly, so highly recommended! The LA Iberico pork galbi was good, but the texture was a bit tough for perhaps it was overcooked unfortunately. It definitely didn't melt in my mouth the way other diners had claimed, so perhaps that was a miss this time. I did appreciate our waitress offering to remake the dish for us and even though I opted to finish it as it, I still nonetheless appreciated the offer! The kimchi fried rice (dakgalbi kimchi-bap) was flavorful, but the chicken was dry despite it being dark meat, which also suggests that it was overcooked, which was another bummer. Nonetheless, I'm sure 8282 has a lot of potential for being amazing and although it was a partial miss for us this time around, I'm sure they'll continue to improve and do better next time! Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:
Absolutely stellar find.
We were recommended here by friends of ours who are regulars. They said it was a "must try" and they were absolutely right. We had one of the best all around meals I have had anywhere. The place is very small inside and they are understandably busy, so reservations are highly recommended. We went right at opening time and sat at the bar. The service was excellent and the ambience was lovely. We had the octopus, the boneless K.F.C the Perilla Oil Pasta and the Jjajang Bori Bap (clams) as well as the Menbosha (shrimp toast). Every single thing was outstanding. They have a great cocktail menu but I stuck to my usual white wine! I highly recommend the place.
An amazing Korean tapas joint that we couldn't stop talking
An amazing Korean tapas joint that we couldn't stop talking about! We came on a super rainy weekday night and were just glad to be indoors. We were treated to a really unique interior design that feels both modern and timeless. The menu, service, and overall ambiance were on point the moment we walked in. The tapas places are on the pricier side but not out of reason given the portion sizes. We had the tuna tartar w/ uni, grilled octopus, and iberico pork galbi; we were not disappointed by any of them! My favorite was the pork galbi that fell apart as we dug into it. The tuna tartar came in creamy bites as it was mixed together and topped with outstanding uni. Absolutely would come here again. The only missed opportunity on our side was not trying any of the drinks!

This was my last dinner in NY, I found it on a whim while browsing yelp in the hotel and came across 8282. We got here at 8:30 on a Saturday night and they were packed! To share, we got the Tuna Tartare, Littleneck Soojebi, Perilla Oil Pasta. The Tuna Tartare was so good, it was a refreshing and crunchy bite. The Litteneck was good but it did have a strange odor to it, my partner couldn't eat the rest because of that so I had to finish the rest. We finished with the Perilla Oil Pasta which I was really looking forward to but thought that it fell short in both flavor and texture. It wasn't bad per se but the flavors and textures didn't feel complete.. I still enjoyed my time and would like to return to try the rest of the menu items.

8282 was a surprising delight! I've had food at multiple Korean restaurants, including ones that are a twist on Korean pocha food. Still, this one genuinely surprised me. Nothing we ordered tasted bad, and the service was super friendly! We went on a Thursday, and it was moderately quiet around 6pm, with more folks coming in later on. My husband and I already talked about either coming for another date night or with a small group of friends. Drinks: I ordered the Banana Milk while my husband got the Gochujang Margarita. Both suited our individual tastes, and although I'm not usually a big cocktail drinker and often prefer wines instead, the Banana Milk was a perfect light drink that wasn't too sweet or too plain. Speaking of wine, shout-out to Kat for recommending a great white wine that paired perfectly with our starters! Kat also made a negroni with a twist at the request of my husband, and she exceeded his expectations. Erica additionally gave us two free shots and both were slightly sweet and easy to down. I'd come back just to hang out with Kat and Erica alone! Food: Sweet shrimp tartare: 4.5/5 Shrimp was so fresh, and the taste was great. The only thing that'd make this dish a bit better would be to have a little more shrimp. The lower ranking is because compared to the other dishes, this one didn't exactly stand out as much (although it was yummy!). I wanted the tuna tartare but my husband wanted to try something new, so given that I didn't want this dish originally, it surprised me in a good way. Cheesy tteokboki: 5/5. sooo good. I've had many variations of this and there's only so many ways to make cheesy tteokboki good, but for some reason, this one excelled! The sauce wasn't super thick and had a slight rose taste to it but also wasn't rose. Delightful. Would get again. Littleneck soojebi: 5/5. Perfect especially for a gray day. We liked this dish so much we drank the broth and didn't want to give it up. We considered even taking the broth home. L.A. Iberico Pork Galbi: 5/5 - melts in mouth. Was super tender and although the flavor wasn't new to us, it was delicious! Jjajang boribap: 5/5. My husband's favorite dish of all the other dishes. The umami flavor was chef's kiss, and the scallops were perfectly cooked. Definitely would recommend!
Once again, this place never fails to disappoint me.
The cocktails are still so yummy, all the dishes are still so good and reasonably priced esp with their good portion size, and the service is good! I love the korean music they play here. The seating is a LITTLE tight with the other tables but it's fine! It's hard to resist not ordering so many dishes and trying to fit them all in one table.. heh

Pretty yummy food with nice ambiance! For four people, we got 5 dishes: tuna tartare, noodles, cheesy rice cake, pork, and scallops. My favorite was the tuna tartare. All the flavors blended super well and it was delicious. The pork was also super tender and juicy. Cheesy rice cake was yummy but nothing too special. Scallop was super soft and yummy. Noodle was good and the sauce was flavorful. The dessert was the most mediocre thing though. I didn't like the Parmesan in ice cream.

Made a reservation for 4 people and had an awesome dinner here. I tried: + Banana milk cocktail + Jeju old fashioned + Cheesy tteok-bokki + Tuna tartare + Dakgalbi kimchi bap + Grilled octopus + Gomtang dumpling soup + Jjajang Bori-bao + Ooyoo pie Both cocktails were great. Standout dishes were the cheesy tteok-bokki and the dessert (which was better than milk bar's crack pie!), followed by the tuna tartare. Also really enjoyed the grilled octopus and dumpling soup. Finally, they sent us a complimentary kimchi beet dish, which was really good! That was a nice touch.
