Growing up in SF I've been here many times and always considered it to be one of the best. However the last 2 times I've been here the service has been really bad. Some of the carts never made it to our table. Ordered off the menu even though the server discouraged me from doing so and only half the order came out. I think I said no thanks to those chicken feet 10 times. Began to feel like I was being panhandled. Food was just OK. Left feeling sad.

It was amazing! The food was brought in carts and as soon as we sat they brought food to our table. My personal favorite dish was the XiaoLongbao(soup dumplings)but almost all the food we ordered was amazing! The service was also amazing, the waiters were really flexible and patient. The restaurant was decorated nicely and the plates and cups were very clean and even my mother approved the cleanliness (she's even a clean freak). In conclusion, the food, service and the cleanliness were amazing and my family loved it so I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Was so excited to find a dim sum place in the city outside the bustle of Chinatown! Came on a weekend and was seated quickly - the place is spacious and has plenty of tables. I'm partial to cart dim sum because I love seeing and choosing all the offerings, and I gotta say I was pretty impressed by the food here! Standout dishes: stuffed lotus leaf with sticky rice (plenty of meat!), shrimp rice noodle rolls (my fave of the places I've tried in SF) Would definitely come back again!

My family of four loved this meal! We are visiting and wanted to go on our way in and are glad we made reservations and went on our way out as it was an hour wait for a family of 4 with no reservations at 1 pm. We lived choosing items from the cart and getting to see what we ordered. Food was all delicious and we ordered seconds of potstickers, buns, and shrimp dumplings. Staff were very courteous and helpful and we enjoyed our time so much!
Be the first to ReplyMy friend really wanted cart service dim sum.
I was game so we came here even though this place looked like no dim sum place I've ever been to. The food was more refined. Was it more delicious? That's debatable. I am no dim sum expert but thought this place was more razz than matazz. We had the usual har gow, shui mai, sticky rice etc etc. the sticky rice was actually really good even if you only get one. The sui mai was not as flavorful or juicy as I've had it. The Chinese broccoli was cold a and lackluster. The two desserts were excellent, sesame balls and mango pudding. We spent close to $200 for 2 adults and 3 kids, and I don't know if I can say it was worth it. This one I will skip next time but it was a lovely experience. If you want cart experience, come here but know it is at a premium.

0/5.0 Service 3.0/5.0 Value 3.0/5.0 Decor 2.5/5.0 Overall 3.5/5.0 Decent dim sum, not that spectacular. The Rincon Center is like a barren wasteland right now so docking some on decor. This is otherwise a pretty standard older school banquet style Chinese restaurant.

We stopped here for lunch on the way home from SFO about a week ago. Unfortunately, due to a flight delay we were later than planned, but they were happy to accommodate us, though the full menu wasn't available. The food and service were both wonderful and it was the perfect respite after a day o planes and airports. I look forward to coming back with a group and I'd definitely recommend it.

I am from southern california and wanted to compare the dimsum in famous San Francisco with family and friends! Service was excellent and the variety was varied. I always go for the hom sui gok and hai gow. I plan to come here again!
Be the first to ReplyI prefer this location than the other one.
This one is bigger. I would definitely make a reservation. Parking can be tricky but you gotta know where to go to find good parking. The food is solid, they still walk around with the cart which I prefer because the food is fresh. I love the green scallion pancakes. The pan seared chicken bun are good too, I like the crispiness of it. The scallop siu mye is great too, only 3 pieces tho. The sesame balls are the best thing ever. It's my favorite thing on the menu.

We had a group of 9 and it was perfect! The service was fast and efficient. We fought over the delicious hum bao, and ordered several more because we couldn't get enough. The potstickers too! Heavenly.

My boyfriend and I came on a Wednesday morning! We were surprised to see so many people there. The food tasted very authentic, but the portions are a bit smaller and the prices are higher than what we were used to in NY (but SF tends to be pricer altogether). We were surprised by the variety of options and were pleasantly surprised by the taste of everything! The staff members are super friendly and all are bilingual, a huge plus to non-Chinese speakers. I recommend here! Parking is slightly difficult, but there are two parking lots right across the street.
Be the first to ReplyMinus the wait logistics, great restaurant and food.
Egg tar was incredibly well done, with crispy outside but inside was following custard. Other steamed and fried dishes were brought along on carts for an authentic experience.

Yank Sing used to be great, but in recent years it's just mediocre at best. Food is inconsistent and the hostess at the Stevenson location is not very pleasant.

Tourist trap, overrated had better food at cheaper restaurants, the Peking duck dumpling is a joke.
Be the first to ReplyThis is my wife's favorite Dim Sum spot.
It's kinda pricey so I bring her on special occasions. The food is good though. We went on Valentines before we went to see MJ. We had the shrimp dumplings, spring roll, steamed BBQ pork bun, soup dumplings, honey walnut prawns and sesame balls for dessert. (Forgot picture of prawns and sesame balls) We also ordered a cup of steamed rice on the side. There was plenty of food left to take home afterwards. The tea was great as usual. The shrimp dumplings were on point and the soup dumplings were great on their own. However they give you a side of vinegar and ginger to add to it. The prawns were special order so they were piping hot and good when they came out. We got there right when they opened and everything was fresh on the carts. Overall good experience and wifey was happy so no issues from me. Will be back.

On a weekend, if you're sitting in the periphery of the building atrium such as the tables right behind the check-in desk, forget about getting carts to come by! Inadequate and unfriendly service. Food is still quite good but at this price level, the lack of service in unacceptable!
Be the first to ReplyFun for the hangover crowd or any time.
The service is fast, but the dishes are not hot. Huge space with too much air. Could have more intense signature flavors. I like smaller venues and this is the courtyard of a hotel. Still, we enjoyed the experience!
Be the first to ReplyI really love this place.
Always a line but worth the wait. I live in LA but I would drive up to SF for yank sing (along with swan oyster depot). Their xo sauce is crazy good (but pricey). The food is voluminous and very tasty in a fun noisy atmosphere. Steam carts in abundance with all of the things you expect from a great dim sum experience. Shui mai, Peking duck, soup dumplings, bbq pork bao. Getting hungry just thinking about it.

I have been going to this place with almost all of my family since last year, and I've always had a 5 star experience here. The wait was a bit, however, it was definitely worth it! First of all, the whole vibe of the restaurant is gorgeous and cozy, it's not too casual but not fancy, more like in-between. Second, the service was great, they gave us some good food which is definitely 10/10, and they were nice to us (they deserve more appreciate for real)! The service was about the speed of an average restaurant, but it is still worth the wait time! Anyways, now let me explain what we and my family ate here. I got the mushroom dumplings (incredibly awesome) and I also got the Chow Mein noodles which are definitely 10/10 hands off best noodles I've ever had! The food looked like it was from a TV commercial and it tasted delicious. After our main course, we got dessert, which was sesame balls and oranges but the inside is filled with jello (I forgot the name of them, but they tasted so good) and you should definitely try it! I am definitely coming back again soon!
Be the first to ReplyI love the carts.
Just going to start with that and think that it really adds to the experience that a bunch of spots are missing. Food was good, but nothing to write home about. I think there are better dim sum places out there that I've had, but I would return to this location for a few reasons. 1. Validated parking is great 2. We were able to make a reservation and had no wait. I am so used to waiting for ten million years to eat dim sum that this made it so much better. It is definitely a little pricier than I'm used to, but it was still good and satisfied that dim sum craving.
Be the first to ReplyNot good.
Should have read the review. Soup sucked. Dumpling bad. I would not eat here again unless it was free
Be the first to ReplyWith a higher price tag than the average Chinatown joint,
With a higher price tag than the average Chinatown joint, Yank Sing is arguably the place in town for dim sum. The upscale setting boasts reasonable prices, but the zigzagging carts can get hectic. While peak hours entail a wait, one can be assured of quality and abundant variety from these carts rolling out of the kitchen. The signature Peking duck with its crispy lacquered skin and fluffy buns makes for a memorable treat, not unlike the deliciously sweet and salty char siu bao. Of course, dumplings here are the true highlight, and range from fragrant pork xiao long bao to paper-thin har gow concealing chunks of shrimp. Don't see favorites like the flaky egg custard tarts? Just ask the cheerful staff, who'll radio the kitchen for help via headsets.

We found Yang Sing on our first anniversary many many years ago. It's a must when we come to San Francisco. I love the dim sum carts coming by to pick your food. Great food and service everyone worked so well together, great team work. Sara was very nice and efficient, Leona finalized my bill and she was very nice and helpful. Great lunch overall, I had lunch by myself because husband was at a conference, couldn't eat more . Until next time
Be the first to ReplyHey you guys.
.. When you receive orders upwards of $100 w/ requests for spicy oil, soy sauce, mustard etc. and you routinely can't handle that it's on you. WTF? You're one of the best dim sum places on the planet but you routinely disregard orders which include dipping sauces which should be included ABSOLUTELY. I do not understand how you continue to degrade your brand. I have spent over $400 and w/ this last order you've shown how much you care about your customers. I'm done.
Be the first to ReplyHaven't been here in about 2 years.
We came in with a reservation and was seated right away by the hostess. The carts started coming by as soon as we sat down. Nice to see the carts again as during Covid there were no carts . Everything we ordered was fresh and tasted so good. We ordered more than I thought we would because it is so hard to resist the appetizing food passing by.. the service was amazing too. My husband's soda glass was never empty. Everyone we encountered was extremely pleasant. We ordered steamed pork buns, fried shrimp, har gow, Shu mye, string beans, steamed spareribs, sesame puffs, rice and tea. I loved every bite. We will definitely be back more often.
