One of the best coursed out meals!
My first experience dining here. When I walked in, I was quickly greeted and guided to the bar while I waited for the table. The drinks were great! I highly recommend the Pagoda-London gin paired with Yuzu made it refreshing on this hot summer day. The meal is a fixed $88 dollars 12 course meal. This was by far the most intense cuts of meat I've ever had. Top quality as it progresses through the meal. I would taste the second course thinking nothing could top this but it just got better each time- until it felt like I was in food heaven! I highly recommend this place for beef lovers. Brace yourself for an amazing 2 he experience! It's highly worth it
Be the first to ReplyBest A5 Wagyu beef in Southern California.
Yakiya is a unique BBQ restaurant in Hacienda Heights, CA. They serve a prix-fixe menu with a variety of beef dishes. The food quality, service, and ambient are all good. As a Chinese owned restaurant, its good quality is unusual. The thinly sliced A5 Wagyu was my favorite. Some improvement opportunities: The Beef Cheek had good flavor but the meat was dry. The sorbet had a combination of sour, sweet, bitter and spicy. It was too complex for me. It was about 48 degree Fahrenheit outside. They opened a door which was connected to the patio seating area. The patio cold air made the dining room a bit too cold. My friends felt uncomfortable. I told the manager and she was insensitive.
Be the first to ReplyA very delightful experience
An hour and a half that was gone before we knew it. The food was excellent as was the staff. The A5 wagyu was melt in your mouth tender (not an exaggeration). It didn't come cheap but it was our 50th Anniversary so we splurged. If you can manage to scrape up the financial courage, this is the place to spend it.

- beef tongue w its own scallion green sauce
- photoworthy all the way
- a meat lovers paradise
- p bougie interior design + seating that makes you feel like a royalty
- next generation bathroom
ono points
- have to eat raw (substitute available but not worth - I got a piece of small steak :/)
- one small slice of meat per course for 100$+ - was still hungry after
- which means this is a fine fine experience (it's up there but it's not the best in LA)
Overall, you'll love it if you are a meat lover who exist in the restaurant world to splurge on quality meats. Good for small stomach + celebrations. Come if you want a unique jbbq adventure.
"Experience Dining" at its finest!
Yakiya serves a multi-course (over a dozen) omakase meal focused on beef. It's prix-fixe ($98/person in Feb. 2020), except for drink (the drink menu focuses on Japanese whiskey and sake, and is excellent).
In a lovely space with mid-mod furnishings and beautiful decor, you're seated at a table with a grill in the center. Course after course of outstanding food is brought to you by the highly attentive and accommodating staff. The meat is of incredibly high quality, the preparations and flavors are creative and delicious, and the presentation is dramatic and beautiful.
This was an outstanding dining experience, and highly recommended if you want to share a special experience with someone.
My No 1 Restaurant in California
All dishes (plates, forks, chopsticks, tongs, etc.) are gold. Too classy and great.
The food is also very fantastic. A special day is a must go place with someone special.
All courses are perfect
Excellent - on all levels
Various meats, cooked in front of you, accompanied by a variety of sides and finishes. Simply amazing. Servers explained each of the cuts, meat was cooked to your liking and there was an extensive cocktail list to keep you entertained. The bone marrow over rice and final imported Wagu beef were the highlights for me - although absolutely nothing disappointed. Would recommend and definitely return.

Customer service :5/5+
Quality of food:5/5+
Price: $88/ per + tip
I and my husband had Yakiyan first time on Friday night. We had reservations and got there 5:30 so there were not much ppl yet but I recommend to make reservations and if you wanna eat with quiet then make reservations early as possible because when we finish eating around 7pm it was packed.
Customer service was AMAZING. All the servers knows where the beef came from, how we should eat and best way for cook.
Quality of food was very very good. It was about 13 dishes. Each meat were only 2-3 pieces but so flavorful and I end up got sooo full.
Price for $88/ per person is very fair price for this quality of service and food. Also restaurant is very clean and I loved their bathroom so much!!!
Premium beef galore
This restaurant is owned by Panda Corporation of the Panda Express game. You get a coursed beef meal made with various parts of the beef plus other small dishes in between. Corkage for bringing your own wine is $20 per bottle. The best cut and highlight of the night is A5 Miyazaki beef from Kyushu Japan, it is thinly sliced and flashed cooked on grill and served in soft boiled egg as dipping sauce.
Be the first to ReplyHow did Rowland get a restaurant like this?
Been staying in the area for years and I’m so happy that there are finally a few fantastic higher end non-Chinese/Korean food selections in the hood. Love this place and the quality of the food has been surprisingly remarkable. Service is impeccable (at least the servers/table-side grillers that have served us the last few times). Omakase-style is perfect for the multitude of types of beef they serve and you can obviously order more of the stuff you like. It’s pricey but it’s a gem and don’t be turned off just because it’s not in a fancy neighborhood. Hope more restauranteurs will come to the area and open up restaurants like this one. Kudos.

Had a great, memorable experience in Yakiyan Japanese restaurant. A fixed price menu. 15 courses meal. Certified Wagou beef was excellent. Melt in the mouth. Must dinner event.
