Fabulous lunch!
We had Sunday lunch at Woodcut for my birthday. Not only did it have a fantastic view to dine by, the food and wines were excellent, the menu had everything I wanted and more. Delicious and well presented dishes, the food and the staff were amazing, and made my birthday very special, thoroughly recommend it.

Top restaurant with brilliant food and amazing service. Atmosphere is very nice for a special occasion but highlight is the excellent food
Be the first to ReplyChristmas Eve dinner GREAT EXPERIENCE
A christmas eve dinner Delicious, we ordered meats, wine, sides and my daughter a dish from the kids menu which was world class. The service was first class. It is an expensive restaurant but worth the experience, we chose the terrace which has a beautiful water view. We will be back. Special thanks to Victor (I hope that's is spelled) Very friendly and professional. Five starts
Be the first to ReplyDelicious but expensive
Invariably when I visit any of the โBigโ cities located around our fabulous world I like to take myself out for a โspecialโ dinner and so when visiting Sydney recently I did a little research and settled on The WoodCut at the new and somewhat controversial Barangaroo Crown Hotel and Casino. Finding a venue to dine solo in these days is neither as haphazard or difficult as it used to be, although given that my chosen dining date was the Friday before Christmas meant that some of the restaurants that I was hoping to dine out were completely booked out. WoodCut also had no availability via their online booking facility however a quick call later I secured a seat at the Chefโs table which I always enjoy .. both for the entertainment value of watching the โkitchen balletโ but also for the often convivial nature of this dining area and the chance to chat to other like minded solo diners and travellers. I chose to have a cocktail upstairs at Cinq on the 26th floor however in hindsight I think I would have preferred to have had a pre-dinner drink at the bar at WoodCut which looked quite nice. Cinq was posey and fairly ordinary .. but the less said about that the better. On arriving I was pleasantly greeted, escorted to my seat and given the option of a few different areas around the kitchen bar area dependant on my bent for viewing. I opted for a seat close to the corner which allowed for a view of the action without the fear of it being too smokey or noisy. I was quickly offered a menu and asked if I would like sparkling water. I was then given time to peruse the drink and food menu before the lovely wait person came to take my order. On ordering the sirloin I was politely informed that due to the cut of beef with bone in it would possibly take 40 minutes, which seemed a little excessive given that the restaurant was really not very busy and I was having my steak rare, but none the less it was good to be informed. My wine arrived promptly and as there was in fact one other solo diner at the table we chatted amicably until each of our meals arrived. I could not fault the steak, it was cooked perfectly and the sides of spinach and potato were delicious and very generous in size. Suggestive feedback on the meal would be that the sides could be offered in smaller solo portions as I would imagine that they are designed to be shared by the table and as it was of course just me .,. there was no way I could consume all of them however the price of each side significantly increased the final bill. Just as I finished my glass of wine the waitperson magically arrived to ask if I would like another glass and as I was still working my way through the very large sirloin and massive sides I of course replied โwhy notโ. So the verdict โฆ. Delicious but.very much on the expensive side and smaller meal portion options would be appreciated .. oh and the fact that I was charged $6 for the glass of sparkling water was .. well just a little offensive .. at these prices and the fact that the sparkling is from a communal bottle made on premise with their soda-stream system .. seriously Crown .. this could be complimentary. All in All though a delicious entertaining meal and I would definitely recommend and return.

Ate at Woodcut tonight (3 Nov) in Crown Towers Sydney for the 1st time. They use wood to cook. Steak was good. Saw a lot of diners ordering octopus which i did not. Never mind, next time. Total damage A$258. I ordered the following: a) Grilled Black Tasmsnian Garlic Bread - A$12 b) Wagyu beef skewer -A$22 c) Stone Axe Sirloin Steak and Green Peppercorn Sauce - A$185 d) Skin on Chips - A$13.00 e) Cheesecake cocktail - A$26.00 Total -A$258
Be the first to ReplyExceptional experience.
We had an exceptional night with superb service and staff who were very attentive and professional, food quality and experience was phenomenal and couldnโt fault. Advanced and fantastic quality wine list. Enjoyed a fantastic birthday dinner and look forward to visiting again. Would highly recommend Woodcut to anyone looking for a fantastic dinning experience. There was nothing to fault from the time we arrived to the time we left.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious and great service
My husband and I ate here for lunch on Saturday. We've been here a few times and this time didn't disappoint. The service from our wait person was great and the food still is amazing. Thanks everyone, we'll be back
Be the first to ReplyGreat lunch for families
Amazing steaks, good varied menu and a big well priced wine list. Dessert was as thick and dense as my daughter, who enjoyed the colouring in provided.
Be the first to ReplyBeyond expectations
Exceeding expectations. Weโre recommended by a friend and it lived up to its reputation. Excellent food and staff service and demeanor the best. The steak was beautifully done and all accompanied small/side dishes of high standard
Be the first to ReplyFood Amazing, Services Far from impressed
The food was amazing, I'm quite happy to wait for 45 minutes for a great steak. Not happy to wait 40 minutes for a glass of wine and 1 hour for a cockail. Plus the wine was room temperature and not chilled. Plus paid the Sunday Night additional Service fee of 136 dollars that was added to the bill. I'm sorry if you are going to charge these prices lift your services.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious Albeit Expensive Lunch With A Great View
Lunch at Woodcut was fabulous. The food is delicious, with a few standouts including the Tasmanian black garlic bread, zucchini blossoms and sirloin. Service was excellent, and it was entertaining watching the ferry and yacht traffic passing by the restaurant. The restaurant is beautifully appointed with very comfortable chairs. I have a few suggestions, though: diners should check the menu online before dining there to avoid sticker shock. This is a very expensive restaurant. Also, a lighter touch from service staff would go a long way toward making diners feel comfortable and relaxed. The menu is a bit pretentious, and we had to ask for descriptions of several menu items. But all in all, I recommend Woodcut highly for a special lunch,
Be the first to ReplyThe steak is next level
The black bread was a surprise - something different, tasty The steak is next level, a cut above the rest, we've been to other restaurants since and have not found a steak to match Intend to return
Be the first to ReplySpectacular in every way
The service, the view, the food, the wine were all exquisite and top top top shelf. We were seated in the most spectacular location, our sommelier matched our selections with perfect vino to complement. Thank you for making us feel very welcome.
Be the first to ReplyWorse service
The worse lamb chops you could ever had for a price of 75$ The service is appalling, the side dish arrived after the steak the chips you have to wait 10min youโve eaten your meat. Very bad service. Never again with this restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic
I love this place, the caviar, crayfish, garlic prawns, steak, everything is so delicious. Had the John Duval Eligo Shiraz which wrapped it off perfectly. Expensive but worth it.
Be the first to ReplyUnderwhelming and overpriced
I was disappointed with this restaurant. Went for a business lunch and initially I was impressed with the pleasant atmosphere and nice view outside. The menu though was quite limited for what I thought was a steak restaurant. We ended up ordering among other things the 800g eye fillet which was no word of a lie, circa 400g, and not particularly nice. Oh did I mention it was $290!!! If you want steak then go to Rockpool (I'm not even a Rockpool fan but it walks all over this place). If you want a view go to Otto - much nicer. The fish was extremely buttery and I found it to be inedible. Service was a bit average too. Won't be going back.
Be the first to ReplyWoodcut Restaurant
The service was incredibly slow...we weren't asked if we wanted sauce with our $170 wagyu steaks...when the steaks came out, I asked the server what was available so we ordered a couple of different ones as the server said they would come out very quickly...we waited so long our steaks started to get cold and by the time they came out 3 of 4 of us had finished the steak. We constantly ran out of drinks and it was very hard to get the servers attention. The steaks were ordered medium rare and all of them were at least medium not medium rare which was very disappointing considered the cost of the 9+ wagyu steaks. Not sure we would come back to be honest.
Be the first to ReplyReally really good food
The service around the food ordering was simply amazing. We had over ordered and the waiter kindly explained to us options for the number of people we had. Wine service was a bit slowโฆ Food was amazing and we will definitely be back.
Be the first to ReplyReasonable food but overpriced
The Steak and lamb were excellent. Apart from the meat, the plate is very bare. The octopus was over done and a bit tough. Burrata was lovely but no side except an extra order of 2 slices of giant thick bread. Chips ok. wine list is very expensive and the whole experience is overpriced. There are many restaurants nearby that are as good or better at less than 1/2 the price. If you want to spend your wins in the casino, its a great place to do it.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect Food and Service
I went there as a family of 3 and the food was absolutely delicious and the beverages were outstanding. We were treated amazingly. That mightโve been because we knew the head chef but I donโt know. We would definitely go back there. Even the waiters were friendly and they had a nice chat when pouring beverages and serving food. 10/10!!!!!!
Be the first to ReplyGreat food - but cold as hell near the door!!
Good good, service ok. But seated in range of the southern doors. Every time they opened, we froze - every 3 min! We asked to be seated somewhere else but got the cheesy smile and no other empty tables response. All tables in our area suffered the same feat. My 14 year old twins were frozen through by the time the meal was done!! Never againโฆ.

Make sure you have your Sunday best's on when visiting Woodcut. The the front desk staff will profile you before entry. In our case we traveled from Melbourne and thought we would try it for lunch. When we arrived were were looked up and down by a young lady and when we asked for a table there wasn't anything available, even though it was less than half full. We took it on the chin and went and had a seat to make alternative plans. We noticed several other people just walking in so we jumped on their website and low and behold there were bookings available in ten minutes time. We Booked. We Waited. Then we approached the front desk and told them we had a booking and in we went...... Young lady was not there at that stage. Service from then was excellent the food was hit and miss and the drinks were great. All this was overshadowed however by the front desk staff. This should not happen in 2022. That was $400.00 you would not have received had we just walked away.

Had a exquisite meal here with a superb selection of entrees and steaks. Really enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere. Only downside would be the service being very mixed.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Food, Excellent Ambience, Excellent Service
I chose this venue for my birthday dinner after recommendations from friends. It did not disappoint!!! I put it up there with some of the best restaurants I have ever been to. We sat out on the terrace with a beautiful outlook over the water and had exceptional service and beautiful food. The wine was excellent too on the advice of the sommelier. Don't hesitate, just book and go.
Be the first to ReplyIncredible. Impeccable. Fantastic.
Consistently fabulous. The atmosphere, lighting, menu offering, drinks list, service and open kitchen all work wonderfully. Run don't walk.
