A bit disappointed unfortunately - on a Saturday night, the restaurant was half empty so the vibe was a bit off. Service was OK, they were attentive but slow and we didn't get to have our dessert before having to leave for the next scheduled event of the night (which we had told them that we had to go and asked if they could bring the dessert out but there must have been a miscommunication because they ended up just taking it off our bill). Food was good but not inspired, probably wouldn't go back.

Wild Honey was one of the restaurants with a Michelin star that we chose to eat at on our vacation. We specifically chose it due to its proximity to the West End, and the fact that they had a pre-show dinner menu. That didn't work.- It was freezing outside. London was experiencing a very cold December. When we arrived and told the individual at the desk that we had a reservation, she sat us at a table quite near the door. I'd like to point out that the restaurant kind of has two layers to it. An area near the door, and an "upper" area that seemed much more cozy and away from the door. We were literally the only people sitting in this area near the door letting in the freezing cold air, right next to the welcome desk.- Despite being right next to the front door and the hostess, we were effectively forgotten. It took them ages to take our order, and it took them ages to bring out each course. Eventually a man walked by and saw us sitting at our table with no drinks and no food and said, "I'm sorry. Have you all been helped? And are you in a hurry?" We said we were very much in a hurry and we were this-close to bailing on our dinner. He was pretty horrified and got us our food as soon as. I am thankful for this man. The hostess came and offered a weird, patronizing apology, like she was speaking to a child in kindergarten.- Even with all that? The food wasn't good. I am amazed they have a Michelin star. My experience with Michelin star restaurants is that if you have a pretty dining room, charge a lot of money, and present your food well - you'll receive a Michelin star. Wild Honey's food just wasn't very good. I had a stew which tasted like something I could easily make. I also had a pate dish that was inundated with anise. After all this, Wild Honey had the audacity to charge us for our experience. I paid the bill and got the hell out of there. We had to anyway because we were running late for our show.Caveat emptor.

I was so excited to make their early/pre-theater dinner part of our West End day. But I shouldn't have been. I didn't find the food to be particularly outstanding. It was fine, but nothing I would write home about. I'm only writing about it here because, well, that's what Yelp is for. The plating was so odd- my fish was served lukewarm on a hot, hot plate and in a way that made it impossible to put all components into the same bite. My partner's pork belly came in the saute pan with a plate on the side. I don't even really remember dessert unfortunately. My biggest comment is on the service. We arrived before 5:30, and barely made our 7:30 show. We waited nearly 45 minutes between the first 2 courses which is rather absurd. The only reason we were able to be on time was because someone noticed us checking our watches and getting anxious. He was the 1 person on the wait staff who was friendly; the rest were just downright rude. I'm sorry I did not get his name but he saved our night. We admittedly chased Michelin stars when making our dining plan, and the experience at Wild Honey showed us the error in doing so.

Service was great! The food was great as well, the chicken was ok, the pasta was superb. And the dessert- wow! The honey ice cream was such a unique flavor and the madeleines were so warm n fresh with a lemon filling inside
Be the first to ReplyWe came here for lunch after visiting Buckingham Palace.
I saw a ton of great reviews, so I expected a great experience. We ordered sangria and a honey based drink-- both drinks were ok, but not great. Our waitress was really bad though, she messed up our drinks and our orders. The food was just ok, nothing great. We had the quail -- which they gave us a butter knife to cut up--- not ideal. The plates were stoneware pottery so the too dull butter knives screeched every time you tried to use them and the whole restaurant turned to look. LOL it was a disaster. I would not go back there again.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic! Wonderful food and service.
The tasting menu was outstanding with well-chosen wine pairings. I thought the halibut course was sublime. A great experience that was worth every pence.I highly recommend Wild Honey.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for a work dinner and they had great ambiance.
We ordered a couple of snacks to share - cheese croquette and a couple of salami. I honestly loved all of them! The eel starter was not my favorite, but the veal main was amazing. Tender, perfectly cooked, and paired well with the jus and sides. Oh, and dont skip on the dessert! The wild honey ice cream served with fresh honeycomb is Definitely a solid choice for dinner. I saw they had a pre theater menu as well which looked really good!

Its taken me a while to get to Wild Honey, which has been on my to-eat list in London!Entering, the decor is simply stunning - high ceilings, comfy sofas all the way around, sleek wooden tables, jaw dropping lighting. Definitely a place to bring someone to impress - whether a date or for a business meal.Service was good - but a little hit and miss. We had to refill water cups a few times. Food service was disappointing. When the entrees came, all but one arrived, which came a few minutes later. Definitely not a polished service process. We had the pre-theatre menu. One expects a quick service, because by the name, one has an appointment to make. However, our 3 course meal easily took 2 hours, as there was such a long wait between entrees and mains.Food was also hit and miss, but generally of a high standard. Rabbit ragu and rigatoni was a little too salty. The slow cooked lamb main was good and a generous size. Their famous wild honey ice cream was novel and interesting - I won't give it away - but worth ordering, albeit the a la carte price at £11 is a little steep! Choux bun was perfectly made too. Dessert was definitely the best course out of the three. This is a place you can spend the whole night - there's a really sexy, low-light cocktail bar at the back, and the dining room is perfect for long and private conversations.I will be back - but probably only for the pre-theatre menu again, as mains between £25 and £35 are a tad on the high side given the quality of the food and the hit-and-miss service.

I was looking for a non-typical pre-theater dinner & stumbled upon Wild Honey via map & reviews. The setting is elegant & relaxing, with teal velvet banquettes & tall windows that caught the setting sun. The menu is French-European & very interesting. I started with a cognac-based cocktail garnished with fresh honeycomb that was a lovely balance of smokey sweet. The rough bread seemed to have a touch of honey as well. Before my entree arrived, I was served a complimentary starter of a soup rather like a minestrone with fresh al dente vegetables & white beans atop chunks of the same bread & garnished with parmesan. It could have been a meal unto itself, & a perfect one for an autumn evening.I ordered the rabbit entree, which was prepared two ways, as a roulade and as a cottage pie. Absolutely divine, not gamey in a bad way, but rich & flavorful. Had a light touch of a wine sauce that mostly went with the vegetables as the meat itself didn't 'need' sauce. Paired well with a glass of sangiovese. The wait staff was as excellent as the food. Everyone was attentive & unobtrusive. Water glass filled, plates & drinks brought in a timely fashion. As I had theater plans, I couldn't linger for dessert, but the staff sent me off with a complimentary packet of a pastry that I later discovered was a scrumptious chocolate tart. Highly recommended, & I'll be back!
Be the first to ReplyWe were a party of four and had a wonderful meal all around.
Service is friendly and attentive.Cacio e Pepe is great, as is lamb.Fish and soup also.I wish Wild Honey could attain the five star reputation they deserve.
Be the first to ReplyThe very best type of restaurant: cozy, but elegant.
Great food and even better service. Selective drinks menu / wine list. My companion and I did the tasting menu and everything was delicious. Will come back on every trip to London!

Cozy restaurant with impeccable service and delicate food, cooked to perfection, with subtle flavors. Fresh warm bread, melt in your mouth venison and chocolate soup desert all leaving you wish you could eat more! Our family decided to make it a must on every London stop.

This restaurant came highly recommended by the manager of our hotel. It did not disappoint. You can tell that they take great care and attention to detail in every facet of the business. The staff couldn't have done a better job. I highly recommend the beef tenderloin or the slow cooked Denbighshire lamb. Both were absolutely magical dishes.
Be the first to ReplyWe went there for our wedding anniversary.
Perfect place for a romantic dinner. The food is absolutely perfect. Beautiful dishes.the service is fantastic! Love it
Be the first to ReplyGreat lunch spot! They had exotic dishes.
. the special was hare. I wasn't going to order a poor lil bunny rabbit but the server highly recommended it. It was so good. My partner also enjoyed his beef dish that was slow cooked all day long.

This is my first time for visiting London and I decided to try some good restaurants in the big city. I reserved a table before I went. The food is OK --not outstanding and not even at the quality of one star Michelin. The service was Terrible!! Terrible!!The waitress even did not know how to introduce the menu and even not stop by asking if I need water or not. Just let me wait for there 10 minutes. In the end, I told the waitress that I finished and ready to pay bills. Another 15 minutes to wait!! It's not a busy time!! 2:00 pm ish. How come this can be one star Micheline restaurant!!???@@ after this experience, I did not fully trust evaluations from Micheline. There are a bunch of good restaurants around London. Do not recommend my friends to go to this one.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious.
Special. It used to be a gentlemans club I think, so the interior still retains some features which makes it interesting! The food is creative and hits the spot.
