We did the 4 course meal service with wine pairing.
There are options to pick within each course (about 4 or 5 to choose from) and the whole table is not obligated to do the same. Everything was fantastic! The wine pairing was spot on and really enhanced each dish. Especially loved the gnocchi and almond mini tortellini but everything was perfect and if i was going back today I would get the same! Chris our server was attentive and educational! The whole team worked together to make it a memorable anniversary experience. The dining room is small with only 7 tables but there is enough space between tables to give you privacy. When we come back to Philly, we will definitely come back here.

Obviously very pricy so it will be subjective if you think it is "worth it". Definitely was to me!

5: We came to Vetri Cucina as a group after a work event, and we all opted to go for the seasonal Forchetta menu, as it had the option of adding a white truffle supplement (which, we did). The menu included: +Sweet onion crepe with truffle & Parm fonduta - reminded us of a French onion soup, but in crepe form +Veal Tartare with brown butter, sweetbreads, and hazelnuts +Beef shank cappelletti with parsnip custard stuffed bone marrow +Salt baked branzino with charred brussels sprouts - this was overly salty +Squab en croute with cippolini and stone-milled polenta with chestnut crema and cured egg yolk - didn't try this, as I'm not a fan of squab +Blond chocolate budino The white truffle shavings were generous and ample. Service was a bit underwhelming; we felt that it was a snail-like pace and were eager to finish and leave. Lot available adjacent to the restaurant. +underwhelming menu items +slow service +lot adjacent to restaurant

Came here for our joint birthday dinner, and everything was just perfect. The ambiance was cozy and welcoming, and we had the best time celebrating. It's definitely pricy but totally worth it.

We loved every plate and pairing. The pastrami foie Gras was a top tier bite!
Be the first to ReplyWhat unbelievable service at this restaurant.
We came in on a Sunday night, our anniversary night, and were treated with amazing service. We were recommended several dishes based on our dietary restrictions, and tried the following: Apps: Hiramasa Crudo Sweet Onion crepe - this was the clear winner for our appetizer portion of the meal - this dish is out of this world, and something so different than what I have had anywhere else Pasta: Garganelli with duck ragu - the duck was thankfully not very chewy, and the pasta was of course well cooked Fettuccine with mushrooms - great dish, so simple yet elegant We couldn't decide between the fettucine and the classic split, so our waiter brought us both dishes without charging us which was awesome. The classic split was to die for - the gnocchi was on another world in terms of how soft they were. Definitely try this dish Secondi: Monkfish - reasonably cooked, but honestly nothing I would need to eat again Quince terrine - good but not great Dessert: Just get the molten pistachio cake, it was next level, and the highlight of this meal.

Looking forward to celebrating my birthday and I was not disappointed. The four course selection was excellent especially the onion crepe and venison. The wine pairing was outstanding. They gave an extra pasta entree - gnocchi and tortellini- that was excellent. Service was perfect - always there to help. This is a big ticket restaurant but well worth it.

We rented the private space upstairs for a large group dinner, and little did I know that it would be a truly memorable dining experience. We started off in the kitchen with the chefs and a glass of prosecco! On the table were platters of delicious apps and charcuterie. It was such a cool experience to be able to start the meal off there. And that foie gras pastrami bite was heavenly. We progressed through the rest of the menu. My favs: the sweet onion crepe, spinach gnocchi and maitake fettuccine...but really, everything was superb. The service throughout the evening was very good. The staff was very attentive and accommodating.

great vibe, actually makes u feel like it's a special occasion kind of restaurant. everyone starts w/ a free spritz (alcoholic) in the beginning and then you choose ur plates from each of the 4 courses. they were very nice and actually gave us a small plate of another pasta to try (free) when we couldn't make the decision between which type of pasta to get. if the corn pasta is available, GET IT. overall it is very delicious, pasta is way better than the meat courses and ofc the price is up to u to decide if it is worth ur money. $230 pp after tax and tip, just the tasting menu + 1 extra pasta supplement. 1 thing tho in general they should serve their pasta hotter it was reaching room temp by the time it hit the table for some reason.
Be the first to ReplyLast weekend, my husband and I enjoyed a lovely date night
Last weekend, my husband and I enjoyed a lovely date night at Vetri. The last time we ate at Vetri was 3 years ago, right before the pandemic. There have been some changes and new additions to the tasting menu. We definitely had more variety and more food before. Even though we got less food from the tasting menu this time around, the cuisine was more elevated. The complimentary pre-dinner bites from 3 years ago were these local raw vegetables. There's nothing wrong with local raw vegetables, but it just didn't make any sense as part of Vetri's tasting menu. Last weekend's complimentary pre-dinner bites were raw oysters with salmon roe and a celery root soup, which made more sense and was definitely an upgrade from before. I did notice service was slow to start and reminded me of the slow service from 3 years ago. Since we were both starving, we ordered the foie gras pastrami with toasted Brioche as an add-on and thought that would arrive quicker than the rest of our food. Eventually, the foie gras pastrami with toasted Brioche arrived, and it was so good. After that, the service picked up. The house bread with house made 'nduja was delicious. Our server didn't mind that my husband asked for another serving of 'nduja. For our appetizers, my husband had the torched Hiramasa Crudo, and I had the Potato Burik with broccolini and caviar. Nothing out of the ordinary, but we both enjoyed our dishes. Then came the pasta course. The spinach gnocchi and almond tortellini classic split and the chestnut agnolotti were spot on. You can always count on Marc Vetri's pastas. After the pasta courses came our meat dishes. I had the seared venison, and my husband had the smoked baby goat. I loved my seared venison. It was perfectly prepared and I could have totally eaten another one. Desserts were a molten pistachio cake and rice cake. The Molten pistachio cake was delicious. My husband wished he didn't get the rice cake. I definitely prefer the new and improved version of Vetri. Even though I didn't walk out with a stuffed belly like last time, I enjoyed every single bite.

This was a dining experience!!! From the greeting when my party arrived thru the night the service was top tier. The restaurant has a nice and cozy ambiance which made us feel comfortable. Diana walked us through each course. The food was absolutely incredible! The pairings were so surprising and the flavors in each dish made me feel like the chef knew exactly what my taste buds needed! They change their menu seasonally I believe and I cannot wait to see what next season has in store!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent experience we talked about for weeks after.
Service was the best around. Great for special occasions and will look into one of their classes for sure.
Be the first to ReplyThis five-star review goes to the service.
I must start this review talking about the service because the service was everything. Every person, every dish, every drink was orchestrated by the master conductor and boy, did it make for an amazing experience. There were a number of times that the time between courses seemed to be too long, but we were regularly checked on. Bill was absolutely exceptional - kind, thoughtful, and knowledgeable without being overbearing and pretentious. That's not to say the food wasn't great. It was...but there is other incredible food in Philadelphia. This one comes with the name and the $$$$ price tag. This was the March 2023 menu and the highlights were:Foie gras pastrami - amazing flavor and texture. Campanelle with chorizo and octopus - delicious and large portion. Didn't notice tons of octopus but tasty nonetheless. Roasted suckling pig - very few restaurants do this so naturally had to order. Molten pistachio cake - greatest creation you never knew you needed. So odd in the best ways it was exceptional. Baked Alaska- not quite the standard but as to be expected with the blood orange flavor. The cake inside was a little too thin making it overall unbalanced. Was it a memorable meal? Absolutely. Was the staff incredible? Yes. Will I be back? Perhaps not, but will cherish the experience I had.

We made reservation couple weeks in advance for 5:30pm on a Monday evening. We were the first to be seated but by 6:30 or 7, it was pretty much full. There is a parking lot right next door and you can use spothero to reserve the parking. The atmosphere in the restaurant is pretty nice, mostly small tables but enough spaces to enjoy the meal. There is only the 4 course meal option but there are several choices for each ANTIPASTI, PASTA, SECONDI and DOLCI. Each course tastes good and has good presentation. The portions are just right. All the servers are attentive and friendly.Overall, great place for special occasions.
Be the first to ReplyThere was so much food.
.. I couldn't even finish all the courses. I had gone for the set menu, without ordering an extra pasta or appetizers. The food at Vetri was delicious, but what I appreciated more was the service and ambience. The service was top notch, and very considerate (I'm a commoner). I can tell the waiter mirrored my table's mood, kind of quiet and serious. While being more outgoing with the other table. You know how sometimes you're deep in conversation over dinner and the waiter awkwardly works their way in for an order? That won't happen here. Everything was pretty smooth. I guess, to be nit picky, the crumbs could have been swept from the table between plate exchanges. The meal took about two hours, and I felt present every minute of it. I won't go over the dishes since I think there's plenty of reviews that go over that. In terms of value, that's really up to the individual. As of now, it's 165$ per person. With that price, it seems like I'm guaranteed great food, a type of ambience I prefer and sophisticated service. Personally the experience is worth it to me. But then again, I'm a yuppie.

One of the best restaurants I've ever been to (and i usually don't love Italian food!). The service was 10/10, the food was fantastic, the atmosphere was intimate without being stuffy... just really a great meal. My one tiny complaint would be that there was a fairly long break between plates -- but the whole meal was 2 hours total, so it wasn't egregiously long (just a tiny bit longer than i like). Still, a perfect dining experience besides that small detail.
Be the first to ReplyTop tier & worth it for a special occasion.
Wine pairings were great. The onion crepe was delicious (as was everything else)
Be the first to ReplyI've been here twice with my family.
I can say with absolute confidence that this is one of the best restaurants in the city! If you're unsure about any of your 4 courses, you can *and should* leave it up to the chef. The first time I was here, my dad and I both left our menus entirely up to the chef, and we ended up with completely different meals. It was awesome because we shared bites of everything with each other, so we got to try 8 different dishes! The pasta classic split with spinach gnocchi (the best gnocchi I've ever tasted) and almond tortellini is a must-try, as well as their molten pistachio cake (no wonder it's remained constant on the menu since the beginning!). You will leave feeling full after 4 courses, but if you come with a party of 3-4 I definitely recommend adding the foie gras pastrami stuzzichini. If you even remotely like wine, get the wine pairing! It will make your experience so much better!
Be the first to ReplyA second visit 12 years later, post-pandemic.
Without going into the pompous and verbose lines of past-me, I was basically disappointed. There are very good and understandable reasons for a decline in quality and service at this time, so I am sure it's just a temporary matter. The service was very sweet and sincere. I was gifted a free glass of wine to go with a truffle pasta dish, but the wine had a piece of cork floating in it. The server changing the utensils chose to do so from the farthest point across the table, causing him to have to reach and not-quite-make-it each time. Each dish was either under-salted (the onion crepe) or over-salted (the goat, under which the polenta was not completely cooked, with raw crunchy corn bits in it). And as far as I can tell with pictures I took, the goat is a totally different dish now, and tasted exactly like boiled ham hocks. I can go on at some length about each course, but in short, I feel they are currently imbalanced and not able to showcase the probably excellent ingredients. It's hard to know what to compare a restaurant to right now - not very fair to compare a $360 meal now with what you might have gotten (anywhere) pre-pandemic. I am about to investigate NYC, and if I find similar then maybe I should give it a second thought.

The food is just as good, if not better, than our visit in 2016. The soufflé and crepe were our favorites. The pastas were delicious as ever, although some of them seemed to be between room temperature and warm, rather than piping hot. The goat was great, but be forewarned it's a bit smoker in flavor than advertised. The service remains impeccable. The pacing could be a tiny bit faster, but that's our subjective view.We got to speak with Marc Vetri. Seems like a really nice guy. Ask yourself though, have you ever seen Marc Vetri at the same time and spot as Stanley Tucci? I'm just asking the questions that need to be asked.Overall, great experience. The main reason this is not five stars was the pasta temperature at this price point.

A 20-minute drive from the Philadelphia airport into a beautiful historic neighborhood, less than a mile from Independence Hall, this is a perfect introduction to the city. It was Halloween night, and the Phillies were in the world series, so I lucked out with the only reservation left for the evening. There's no valet, but there's a parking lot right next to the restaurant. This is a memorable, price fixe menu with the four courses offering enough on its own. I benefited from the hospitality of the associates here who delivered several bonus items to the table throughout the evening- aperitif, amuse-bouche, an extra pasta dish, a large pour at the end of a wine bottle, palate cleanser between courses and finally, petit fours and cappuccino after dessert. Every taste became my new favorite. As I walked the surrounding area after dinner, I was still thinking about the experience. Just lovely.

While I'm usually pretty articulate, but the only words I can muster for this restaurant are "wow", "amazing", and "fantastic". I know that makes me pretty basic, but it just that incredible where I've lost words to express the majestic experience we had here. This experience was not even clouded by the face that they made us an additional 30 minutes after our reservation time to get to our table. It is worth every penny and your time.

After years of talking about going to Vetri Cucina, my fiancé and I finally went! When we arrived, our table wasn't quite ready but we didn't wait too long. Once we were seated we were greeted by our server Diana. She was SO friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. In addition to the tasting menu, we decided to do the wine pairing. HIGHLY recommend! Not only was the food and wine pairing delicious but we were told every detail about the history of the wine and what makes it different. My favorites were the spinach gnocchi and the onion crepe. At the end of the meal, Diana gave us a copy of the menu and wine parings. My fiancé was thrilled because there was no way he would remember the names of all of the wine we tasted throughout the night. Of course everything was amazing but what we appreciated the most was how friendly and knowledgeable all of the servers were who made for such a great experience. If you need a restaurant to check out for a special occasion, definitely make reservations for Vetri Cucina!
