Wow, wow, wow !!! What a lovely place.
This is by far the best Italian restaurant in the village. Nothing beats the bread with the salted butter or those crispy potato's. It is so charming with its decor and ambience, if I had a date, this is where I would want him to wine and dine me!
Be the first to ReplyFood is great.
Just a bit disappointed how long it took for our food to come to us. I was showing my close friends the restaurant for the first time. They were disappointed in the wait time. Not all our food came out the same time. Making it difficult to share. Usual the ambiance is amazing the decorations always nice.

We had a reservation for 7:15, but we were seated inside in a very crowded location. The seating arrangement indoors was so hectic and almost absurd. it was loud and there was no privacy as the parties adjacent were within less than an arms length away. we asked to be seated outside, and 10 minutes later it started raining, but all the waitresses were super kind and helpful in moving us to a better location. since the seating is very limited, we had to wait for a party to leave. we were able to sit down and order at 8:15. in spite of this situation, the food was absolutely delicious. If it weren't for the seating hassle this would definitely be a 5 star rating. The rich flavors of the pesto had so many layers, and the steak was perfectly and evenly cooked and seasoned. After we received our dishes our experience was beyond excellent. this place is definitely a top recommendation if you are looking for an authentic italian restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyCame here on a whim for dinner with my husband and daughter.
We had the Manila clams, steak, bolognese, and rock cod. Everything we had was absolutely delicious. The waitress was so kind and the chef was so sweet to our 19 month old daughter, sending out oranges and bread for her. What a gem of a spot we found. Definitely a new favorite spot.

I had been here on one other occasion and remembered it was good. So we decided to go again for my husband's birthday...and it was awful. We're locals, and for starters, they literally sat us in a parking lot which was so poorly paved you could barely walk on it. The waiter was great and had a good energy but the woman who was the food runner was condescending and rude. The food was poorly seasoned, the portions were ridiculously small, and the steak was dry. When we asked if the chef could whip up a sauce for the steak the food runner informed us, "We don't have A1." It was condescending and meant to be so. I will never go back and will instead take my business to Arruffo's where the staff is friendly. What a huge disappointment.
Be the first to Replythe food was really good but wait was 1 hour and 1/2 .
that is ridicules . the price was little high for how small portions where . will not come back due to such a long wait and price for such small portions . only giving stars because food did taste good ,
Be the first to ReplyLOVED so much about this place.
Very unassuming at first, but you're immersed inside the space. Food was simple and intensely flavorful. Just the right about of chatter to feel homey in a smaller dining area. The staff were so helpful and nice. A new favorite spot for us!
Be the first to ReplyNice ambiance, good drinks, good food and awesome
Nice ambiance, good drinks, good food and awesome butterscotch budino! Small restaurant, not that many tables... but it was a great dinner!
Be the first to ReplyFood is good , but be ready to wait .
.. took them about 90 minutes to bring us our order .... It's a bit small ... but it has a vintage sort of look.

A must-visit gem! The food was amazing, with perfect portions, and I love that they grow their own produce. It's a charming, cozy spot tucked away in Claremont. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

The Building: The vibe in there is warm, it's almost as if you can feel it use to be someone's home. I loved looking around in there as we conversed and ate with my lady sitting at the edge of a small 8 person table shared with a separate party of 4. The lighting was relaxing and it was cool to hear someone upstairs in a tiny bar mixing drinks. The Service: I'm not going to sugar coat this, we arrived, we're seated, and we're served water that surprisingly didn't taste of pool water. Lol our waitress offered help after us telling her it was our first time visiting. She said she recommended ordering the 4 courses they offer and sharing. We ordered fettunta, a pasta that tasted alittle like a broccoli cheese soup, and for the main dish the Bistecca (steak) and opted out of the dessert. My girl stuck to water but I ordered a beer that was honestly the highlight of the night. A small family of 3 sat on a table beside us and while we waited significantly over 30min, I wanted to think it was because they were putting extra love into their craft but had my doubts since that family of three were already on their main course by the time we got our second. We were never served or offered a second cup of water, and while I was hoping to ask for another beer....my cup was removed before I knew it. The Food: Fettunta was good, The second course pasta didn't really change my life,At least you could taste the real pasta in it. And the bistecca came with 5 potato cubes, and like six pieces of vertically sliced tiny carrots, and like maybe 8 pieces of some good meat that maybe could've used just a little more pepper in my opinion.Bottom line, I was blessed with two wonderful parents who have cooked wonderfully with a lot of love all of my life. So maybe that's why my taste buds weren't too impressed with the food here. For two people to eat at this place with just food you'd be looking at about a $180 (also not including the tip for all that water and beer refills you weren't offered lol) But what do I know,
Be the first to ReplyI am really really disappointed.
As a Latina women, i have never felt more belittled in my life. It truly saddened me to be treated the way I was treated. We were never offered a refill on our drinks nor asked if we would like to add to our order. Everyone around us was recieved their meals quickly despite us being there first and was offered refills except for us. I could not help but feel discriminated against. I am torn. As we were expecting a delicious meal, the portions were tiny and lacked creatively in flavor, considering the price that was paid. Three days after my visit I am still in disbelief of such a negative and hurtful experience.
Be the first to ReplyAlways great good and cocktails.
One of my favorites in Claremont. The polenta and butterscotch pudding are the best.

Loved the small romantic location! Small indoor seating and small patio! Better off making a reservation. I didn't make one but I got lucky someone cancelled. Drinks and food were great! I had the lasagna verde and the pollo arosttro. Great flavor and tasty. Great service and everything was explained well. Will return.

Just discovered this amazing restaurant! If I was on death row and requesting my last meal it would come from here. Every dish is elevated and fantastic. You go to this restaurant and find out what they're offering that night. Every dish is made with fresh ingredients and personal passion. Not rushed and not ordinary in any way. The restaurant is a very pleasant atmosphere in a building over a 100 years old. Cozy and very limited seating. Don't expect to just show up here and be seated without a reservation. We LOVED this!
Be the first to ReplyAMAZING food and good service.
Will be back soonThe pasta is my favorite (I forget the name). The bread and butter is a close second. Favorite restaurant is socal no doubt.

Some of the best homemade farm to table food I've ever eaten! The inside is cozy and you instantly get hit with fresh aroma of the food. We tried 3 antipasti plates that were each phenomenal. I had the mushroom lasagna for my main and it was excellent. The service was responsive. Definitely recommend coming here!
Be the first to ReplySO good.
Food, ambience, service--everything was completely perfect. We went for my birthday & they brought the dessert out with a candle (not comped, but definitely worth the price). Forgot to get a picture of the entree!
Be the first to ReplyWonderful place for a special occasion.
All the food and drinks are tasty and the servers are nice. The restaurant is really small so keep that in mind and make a reservation!
Be the first to ReplyMe and my wife had an amazing experience at Uno Tre Otto
Me and my wife had an amazing experience at Uno Tre Otto the other night. The restaurant is housed in a quaint historic building in Claremont and can compare to any Italian restaurant we have eaten at in LA and honestly anywhere else as well. The food is inventive, cooked with quality ingredients and has complex flavors. The pasta was perfectly al dente and made in house. We ordered the carrot salad, spicy polenta with bread, beef rigatoni, casarecce, cod, and finished it off with a butterscotch pudding. I can say that some of the dishes were not what I expected (in a good way), but all were delicious. We will certainly be returning frequently as it's only 30 mins from where we live in the Inland Empire. It's hard to find good Italian food this closeby.

The second we walked into the restaurant, the restaurant is beautiful and historical. The food is farm to table so there is no guarantee that you will get the same food the next time. We are already making reservations to go again. My family and I went so we did a family style type of meal by ordering multiple items. We ordered the Fettunta, Roasted Castillo Pumpkin, Rigattoni Alla Garcia, Bucatini, Pesce En Brodo, Braciola De Maiale, and Bistecca. I would recommend the Bistecca, it melted in our mouths.
Be the first to ReplyUno Tre Otto offers amazing food options, if only they were
Uno Tre Otto offers amazing food options, if only they were slightly easier to find, had more space for dining and work on service improvements. ANTIPASTI:Clams - although a little small in size, the dish is amazing and creative - they include baby broccoli rabe and little bits of pancetta, all swimming in the creamy, buttery broth.Service tip: one of the clams didn't open - picky little thing, but the server needs to acknowledge it (she just said we shouldn't eat it... well, then thanks for serving it, I guess?)Grilled octopus saladThis was probably the only regular dish - the dark red sauce is an intersting spicy/bbq sauce but I thought the octopus didn't have a proper grilled texture - too soft and meaty in my opinion. It all rests on a bed of tart arugula with sprinkled pine nuts so the dish seems more like an octopus dish resting on a bed of garnished lettuce, rather than an actual salad. The several fried potato wedges are excellent. MAIN ENTREES:MalfadineClammy aroma, perfect pasta, with fresh mouth-watering peppery marinara sauce and hidden in the malfadine are fresh unbreaded calamari strips/tentacles.BisteccaPrime, 8oz flat iron steak, with black truffle salt. Amazing! The filet-quality texture, flavor, presentation are outstanding. Comes with well paired small chunks of red beets, a smattering of baby carrots.Poached Icelandic CodJust had a bite, but it's a fishy, buttery, soft, and tender cod, with mustard colored tapenade which is actually a cauliflower and tumeric puree. Service tip: Dishes were served separately, not at the same time. Wine list is very descriptive, creative, but short. They should have more single-glass options. In sum, the food is undisputably five-star quality, but their service has room for improvement to compliment that level of food/price.That's all..

I've been a patron of Uno Tre Otto now many times and I have yet to be disappointed! The food here is always impeccably prepared and exquisitely tasteful! I live in a neighboring city, but I prefer to travel all the way to LA whenever I'm craving gourmet or and/or unique food. However, if I want gourmet locally then Uno Tre Otto is the place to go! We have been ordering a few items from their menu repeatedly because they're each exceptional! These items are the fettunta, the bistecca and the salted caramel budino. Particularly, their bistecca is consistently cooked to perfection! It truly has the perfect amount of flavoring and is so tender. Their pasta dishes are awesome, too. A wonderful feature I'd like to point out is the ambience here. It was formerly an auto body shop, I was told, but they transformed this place into something that feels romantically intimate. Another interesting aspect is how they've situated the bar. It's located in a hidden loft and when drink orders are ready they're passed down through a dumb waiter. Adorable! This place is a hidden gem in the midst of suburbia!

Called in at 7pm to see how long the wait is for dinner and apparently they weren't taking anyone, kinda disappointing! Guessing you need a reservation, maybe that should be stated reservation only. Oh and this was on a Tuesday! Probably won't try and come here again!
