Great place for a fishy meal !!
Great place for a fishy meal !! The dishes were well prepared and served quite quickly. This is one of the places that serve beer too. Bit small and crowded so a bit noisy but worth the visit.
Be the first to ReplyBest Seafood Restaurant in Asia
Trishna is easily the best seafood restaurant in Mumbai. In fact, it’s the best seafood restaurant in all of Asia. We dined there five times during our recent two-week stay in Mumbai (2024). The crab is outstanding. The prawns and fish tikka are outstanding. We dined at Trishna during our prior visits to Mumbai and the quality is consistently good. Prem and Sivan are excellent at providing good service and taking care of diners. Ask for them for a really great dining experience!!

Recommended by a local who dined with us. She said this is her favourite restaurant in Mumbai so left the ordering to her. We ended up with a great selection of prawns in a spicy batter, white salmon in a light pepper coating, chilli masala squid and a huge crab cooked in butter and mountains of garlic. All absolutely delicious. It was pretty busy the evening of our visit so probably a good idea to make a reservation,
Be the first to ReplyFood good but ambience not the best
We were recommended here by a few folks - we were hesitant as some of the reviews weren’t great. There seems to be a lot of waiting staff for a relatively small space - and to be honest we felt a little uncomfortable at times as it seemed we were just being watched the whole time . The food was good however and the waiter did recommend a slightly different dish which turned out to be very good. The restaurant became extremely busy with one large table of brits who were really noisy and because it’s pretty small the acoustics were a bit unbearable- we didn’t linger once they’d arrived - also there were folks waiting to sit down so we did feel as though we were being chivvied out. All in all - a bit too touristy for what we normally look for - prices also a bit higher that we anticipated but food was good - just go with these things in mind
Be the first to ReplyFantastic spring roll
Had the most amazing meal here on our last night in Mumbai. Patrap was amazing and gave us a lot of insight. Fresh crab, prawn cooked in garlic butter (and I mean a lot, just how it should be) also shared a spring roll which I would highly recommend. Would 100% eat here again and I think compared to UK prices, where it’s not often fresh. This was cheap and well worth a visit.
Be the first to ReplyAtmosphere not a selling point
The chilli Jumbo crab and tandoori prawn with rice was very good. Fresh sweet crab and fresh firm prawn, There were about 12 staff for 8 diners in a place that looks like a cross between an old railway carriage and the last scene in the Sopranos. The wine was terrible.

Everything was delicious, perfect seafood in Mumbai. You just have to try this restaurant. Staff very friendly and give you the good choise. Try lobster and altar🙏
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing
Good food but now has become very touristy and overpriced. The black pepper fish was very disappointing- dry and flavorless. The other dishes were okay.

Great restaurant but less special than I expected based on the reviews, the interior is also average, nice neighborhood
Be the first to ReplyFresh Seafood and Great Service
Trishna was a restaurant that everyone recommended to me so of course I was going to go. It is a very well known and busy restaurant and in the days prior to Christmas it was super busy. I walked past it accidentally one day so ventured in to check availability but they were full but happily gave me some times to return and they would seat me.. True to their word, when I returned the following day they sat me at a large table (for 4 or 6 I guess) although I was a single. That didn't seem to phase them. I thought they had put me in Siberia but within 15 minutes the rest of the room was full with families, singles, couples. It is probably a little overrated but the seafood is fresh and delicious and the service is excellent if not a bit too "in your face". It's not glamorous, just functional & the food is great. I really enjoyed the experience and think everyone would. It seems very family friendly regardless of how young the children are.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious seafood experience!
Our waiter was very helpful in making suggestions. We had King prawns with garlic and black pepper and (a first for us!) pomfret in crab sauce, with very good spring rolls and an Indian Viognier. The only thing that surprised us was that they do not serve tea or coffee. Trishna lived up to its reputation as an excellent seafood restaurant.
Be the first to Replymaybe overrated?
Reviews raved about this famous fish restaurant in Mumbai. We ate here on the last night of our 2 week long trip. I had waited to eat fish in India until we came to this place that specializes in it. It was good. The atmosphere is surprisingly plain- clean but a bit drab. The service was good. The food was just not as good as the rest of the superb food we had had throughout our trip. Maybe I just don't love fish in India but this place did not make me want to try more.

We visited their Fort branch and had a fabulous dinner. Coastal food was to die for. Rawas tandoori fish was perfectly done and an excellent starter. Prawns chettinad had an excellent taste. Service is prompt and people are helpful. Overall a very satisfying experience.

Very good seafood in Mumbai. Try the jumbo crab with butter and lemon and the pomfret kochi curry was very good. The service was also very quick and friendly
Be the first to Replyoutstanding both food and service
our experience has been utterly amazing. First of all the ambience is an authentic experience of the beautiful quarter of Colaba, there's no better place to while away time people watching and dine out in such restaurants like Leopold and Trishna for example. Then food. You cannot have a better experience to eat fish. The list is full of choices and propose a very diversified style of regional and asiatic options. We have selected Cochin curry prawns and Rawas Hyderabadi Tikka Aquafina. Absolutely outstanding. We are so happy that we have reserved a table again for today. Finally a big credit for the service to the staff. Extraordinary example of care that makes the experience an excellent one
Be the first to ReplyDelicious Seafood, Traditional Service
An old-fashioned seafood restaurant with a very diverse menu. We had some fish and squid dishes, and finished with regional desserts. Everything was fresh, flavorful and plentiful. A wonderful place for a special Sunday lunch. Great and very attentive service. Try some Indian wines: they may surprise you with quality!
Be the first to ReplyGood restaurant, well situated.
We enjoyed our meal at this restaurant. The food was good and copious. The menu is extensive and covers Indian and Chinese food. The service was polite, and not intrusive. Seating layout is rows of tables with back to back benches, and although this does not provide much ambiance, we did not feel crowded. Prices are mid range. This would be a very good restaurant for westerners who are keen to try Indian food, but are a bit nervous of approaching it. It is also well situated in the Fort district.

Fantastic butter garlic prawns, rawas tikkas and bombay duck fry. Don't forget to ask for a glass of sol-kadi to end the meal
Be the first to ReplyExcellent seafood restaurant visited by locals
The menu is impressively long. Especially fish and seafood are excellent. We particularly loved the crab with garlic and pepper
Be the first to ReplyDivine and consistent food
I have been visiting regularly Trishna since the past 12 years. Not once have I left the place without a big grin and a food coma.
The place serves food that ensures you overeat, by choice.
Tastiest seafood in Mumbai
I have been visiting this place for over 15 years now and one thing I can absolutely guarantee is the quality of food they have consistently maintained over all these years. The place is a tiny rat hole with absolutely no consideration for ergonomics or customer privacy but one doesn’t come to a place like this for chit chat. One can see people wearing a bib and relishing a huge butter garlic crab in a shell; however, Chettinad Boneless Crab, Prawn Curry with Apam and fried fish are perhaps the only three dishes I’ve had at this place in all these 15 years. Strangely, I have had friends sing praises about their vegetarian food too.
Be the first to ReplyHearty weekend Lunch
What does a hearty weekend meal entail . Visit to a much celebrated sea food joint . Functional decor , great service and absolutely delicious food . Started off by polishing Fish Koliwada , along with prawns cooked in delicious black pepper sauce . Finished this with a chettinad crab masala and appams . Chiller Heineken was the icing so as to say . Burp !! Still recovering from the overload .

We have been going to Trishna for more than 20 years. We live in Pune but drove to Mumbai from Pune just to have lunch there and drive back.
Due to the pandemic we could not visit Trishna for quite some time. We visited almost after 2 years on 12th September and it felt like home coming. We were greeted as usual with familiar sincerity.
We ate Hyderabadi pomfret with extra pepper, Koliwada (squid) , crab butter garlic and apam- for drinks beer and sol Kadi. Food was just heavenly and service absolutely sincere and attentive.
Trishna is the best place to have seafood in India…….
Had dinner at this iconic
Had dinner at this iconic restaurant and absolutely loved the food and their top class personalised service. I would like to mention the names of Manager Tapas, Senior Captain Michael and waiter Pratap for making our visit so memorable . . . . Top class restaurant with top class service.
Be the first to ReplyRelaxed, tasty but quick
We were told this was one of Mumbai’s most famous seafood restaurants and assumed it was going to be posh. IT WAS NOT. Lovely food in simple surroundings. We took our waiters recommendation and had the fish, the prawns and the crab. A lot of food and really tasty. Not necessarily a place to linger, service was excellent but maybe a tad too fast for us personally.
