Travelle at The Langham, Chicago Reviews
Superb restaurant at The Langham, where I stayed this week.
Last night, our group enjoyed a cocktail hour private event - with a charcuterie board that was so amazingly laid out that I didn't want to disturb it! Eventually, I gave in and took an assortment of cheese and meat and sashimi that was fresh and flavorful. Also had breakfast this morning - a superb classic eggs Benedict with fruit on the side, accompanied by a perfect Matcha latte. Ambience and service was consistently top notch, and the view of the Chicago river and downtown through the floor to ceiling windows was to-die-for! I even saw former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley sitting a few chairs away and enjoying the view! Will be back.

Sunday evening with plenty of available tables, yet the wait for drinks and food was a long one. The view compensated that and we were not in a rush. The food was very, fish was flaky and steak medium rare. Since we stayed at the hotel and didn't want to leave the building, they do have good variety just be aware of the wait. PS Parmesan fries YES, burnt marshmallow dessert nope (too much burnt flavor)

Had Sunday breakfast here before leaving for the airport: everything from the hostess stand, to wait service, food, ambiance, and views - everything - was impeccable. Would return to dine here if coming back for a stay at The Langham Chicago.
I went in for Lunch.
The waiter was clueless as to the menu. The food was worse! Don't bother and go to a Chicago Beef stand instead where you won't be disappointed.
Horrible service at Travelle.
I was so disappointed because that Langham usually is outstanding in all aspects of what they do. Waited forever for coffee and service at breakfast. 20 + minutes...
Beautiful hotel and this restaurant sits on the second
Beautiful hotel and this restaurant sits on the second floor with amazing views! In fact one of the best people watching places! Would highly recommend coming for cocktails and conversation, not so much for the food. The calamari was ok, the beets were fair to marginal and even had a weird banana pepper flavor to them. No issues with the service, they were on point, but next time we will be drinks and views only. Follow up - we lost a pair of sunglasses here and they not only kept them safe, but also remembered us when we returned. Fantastic!
If a fancy Smashburger and a regular Big Mac got together
If a fancy Smashburger and a regular Big Mac got together this is what it would taste like. Solid burger -- in fact, dare I say a top 5 in the city.
Great bar on the river
What a wonderful bar, view and place. Situated right down town in one of the premier hotels you will find this must stop place. Views are awesome. Drinks are better. But the best is the staff, specifically the bar staff! Must go! Enjoy!
Great view of the city and the river.
I loved my drink and the service. I'd come back to try the food.
The best Benedict ever.
Yes, it's pricey but you get what you pay for. Go for it, travelle Benedict. It's got lobster! So delicious and a large plate so come hungry.
EXCELLENT food and service with the Christmas Day Brunch
EXCELLENT food and service with the Christmas Day Brunch 12-25-2024!!! I treated my favorite aunt to this sumptuous, kingly feast (it was her first time here, too)--we both had a great time and were here for almost 3 1/2 hours! Especially LOVED the HUGE king crab legs, Uyghur Lamb with rice pilaf, cumin carrots and Sichuan peppers, pork loin and ribeye steak! The raspberry pastry and fresh fruit were great too! Plus they all paired nicely with Moët champagne! Both venues that served the huge buffet (Travelle and Pavilion) were beautifully and festively decorated to the tens and full of happy diners from various countries (it was like the UN in there)! My aunt and I would definitely come back!
The Epitome Of Elegance
We had a wonderful breakfast at Travelle in the Langham Hotel, located on the second floor of a high-rise. The service was elegant, the space sublime, and the food delicious. While Travelle isn't cheap, you get what you pay for. It is the epitome of a five-star experience.
Won’t be back
Rude , weren’t accommodating. Told us there was a 30 min wait after letting us know they were going to sit us, didn’t make any sense. We’re staying at the hotel & couldn’t eat breakfast here which is uncalled for, shouldn’t be that way but whatever we won’t be back here
Not a great spot for brunch
We waited 2 hours to be seated and eat all together. Also it was a rainy day and not that busy. The waiter checked on us twice and they burnt our gluten free toast. For the price and service it is not worth it.
Best hidden gem dining in Chicago!
Travelle Restaurant at the Langham is a true diamond of a hidden gem! It’s inside the AMA (American Medical Association) building on the Langham Hotel side. It’s never busy and I still can’t figure that one out because the food, ambience and service is always 10 stars! It’s beautifully decorated inside and one of the best top drawer lesser known dining places in Chicago. Service is impeccable, pristinely clean and menu choices are an epicureans’ delight! We had the Gem Salad with carved roasted chicken. Meals here never disappoints us! The tantalizing champagne dressing creation was actually a jelly in the salad that when served, slowly dissolves into the salad which gives a unique and wonderful flavor without the greens wilting! Delicious fresh blackberries coupled with candied walnuts gave a nice tart and sweet balance to the salad. A beautiful creation. I truly enjoy coming here for a quiet meal time away from the noise whenever I get in the city. The menu changes periodically and always has unique and delicious creations.
Very Nice Restaurant
I had dinner and breakfast. The food was quite good and the setting is a beautiful MidCentury Modern room. Service for breakfast was excellent, while my waiter at dinner was pleasant, though slow and inattentive. All in all, though, this is a fine dining choice.
Gluten and Diary Free: Amazing Dining Experience
Amazing food, experience, and ambiance! The best gluten free and diary free burger in Chicago and that I have ever had in my lifetime. They have beef and veggie burgers options; both are divine. The gluten free bread is exceptional! I have life threatening allergies and feel completely safe eating at Travelle. They take allergies very seriously and go above and beyond to make sure you are happy and enjoy the experience. One time they made me a mango, honey, vanilla bean, almond milk smoothie… it was so delicious they should put it on the menu! I can’t duplicate it. It would be a nice sweet treat for the gluten and diary clients. Travelle is located at the Langham hotel. I recommend a spa day there at Chuan spa then going to the restaurant. It creates a perfect day. As a gluten and diary free person; it’s very hard to go to a restaurant and feel satisfied. It’s so special to me that Travelle cares about allergies and being inclusive for all types of people. Thank you Travelle team and Mr. Zamora for all you do!
Quite European, universally worth it
The first thing you have to know is that Travelle is in the Langham Hotel, which is part of a chain more familiar in Asia and Europe. The reason you need to know that is that me and my wife were the only diners from opening at 5 till about 7, when a few parties wandered in, but prime time for dining was more in the range of 8 or 9 pm. Not that this detracted from our experience, but if you like the energy and validation of a crowd, you need to eat late or go elsewhere. As to price, Travelle is very expensive, but if you can restrain yourself from wine and cocktails more than we did, two can eat well for $150. Our tab was $265, but drinks amounted to $140. Our meals justified the prices. Raw oysters on the half shell were the only ordinary part of our meal. My gazpacho was surprisingly green, not red, but subtly delicious with accents of veggies and nuts. My wife had snapper that she called “perfect.” For me, in carb-load mode for the Chicago Marathon, noodles with mushrooms, in the most delicious creamy broth I’ve ever had, couldn’t have been better. Dessert was banana bread sorbet—original and delicious. We also benefitted from a superb server, Steven, also a runner, who proved to be both knowledgeable and delightful. In sum, Travelle is well worth your time and money.
Very tasty brunch in a super cheerful atmosphere
Hubby and I had brunch here this past Saturday and the food and service were amazing! He had the multi-grain waffles with a side of avocado and apple sausage, while I had the Brioche toast with a side of the most delectable bacon every! I also had a glass of the fresh squeezed OJ. Our meals came with pure maple syrup and berries and cream. Our server was attentive and courteous. The food was presented well and very warm. The place is tastefully decorated, bright and cheerful. Highly recommend this place for brunch.
Citrus Cloud to Die For!
We had a Wagyu burger which was quite well flavorful! But.....Citrus Cloud Dessert was amazing with a variety of flavors! The only caution is that it would not be for someone who wants sticky sweet or heavy desserts. It has wonderfully contrasting flavors. This dessert was soooooo good, we'd 100% re-re-return just for dessert if we lived in Chicago!
