The impossible pasta (vegetarian impossible burger) was perfectly done. Tasted really great. The pistachio cheese cake was also very good. Do not over order here. The plate of paste I got could have fed a family of four easily.

Trattoria Fortunata is a standout Italian spot where the gnocchi with pesto scores a perfect 10/10. The food is delicious with big portions and the prices won't break the bank. Our server was super busy running the whole place but still managed to be super friendly. Yes, we waited a bit for our food, but it was absolutely worth it. Can't wait to go back!

We loved our dinner here! Very friendly folks and wonderful food. Also great soundtrack. Recommend the Brussels sprouts, and the Pinot noir!
Be the first to ReplyWe had a very nice meal.
Service was good. However, when the check came the price was less than after they rang up my credit card. They charged a 4% credit card fee and there was no mention of it on the website, menu or from the staff, I think this op is very sneaky.
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointed.
We were a group of four. Service was very slow - only a single server for more than 8 tables. Caesar salad was good, eggplant appetizer was okay but served long after other appetizers. Two members of our party ordered the pasta with shrimp in a lobster cream sauce. No lobster. No cream. Just very salty red sauce. When delivered we questioned server and we're told that we were mistaken. We checked online menu and we were correct. We were comped 50% of our inedible meal. Luckily Ben and Jerry's was open.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is a disaster.
I was in downtown Saratoga recently and stopped in for dinner. There was a waitress on her first day who was a mess: I waited for 20 minutes before I realized that she didn't it the order in. I get the sense they are not eager for business. This is a small place with about 8 tables. There were 2 tables empty and they kept telling people they were booked. The tables sat empty for the whole time I was there. I asked for some bread and butter. They gave me 2 tiny slices. When I asked for more, my server said it would be a charge. I had a refill on my iced tea; they charged me for it. I have a problem with restaurants trying to make money on non alcoholic beverage refills. The chicken piccata I ordered came with spinach. I originally said that I wanted to substitute it. They said I could have a pasta. My bill included an $8 charge for the pasta. When I disputed it, it became an argument about what I was originally told, And then when they were changing my bill, it's like they didn't know what to do. They voided the charge and then recharged me, but then decided to have me pay the original charge and refund me with cash. Place is a disaster. Stay away

Perfect little dinner spot right off Broadway in Saratoga Springs. We ordered two pasta dishes and the risotto, along with arancini and roasted broccolini - everything was perfectly cooked and so so delicious!! Easily 5 stars and some of the best pasta I've had in awhile

Way too much food. Meatballs were amazing!

My fiancé, parents, and I were looking forward to a nice meal out, but instead wasted our Saturday night in this establishment. It was colder inside than outside. Practically every table ate their meals with their coats on. It took 30 minutes to get drinks, and over an hour for entrees. After a decade of restaurant experience myself, I think it's safe to say that you can't run a restaurant with only one waitress and one chef on staff. I wish all family-run restaurants the best of luck, but Trattoria Fortunata does not deserve anyone's business until they learn how to run an actual restaurant.

Located at 21 Phila Street Saratoga Springs, NY has a quaint & cozy ambiance. Andrea my server was fabulous & very attentive. The crab Gnocchi, Roasted tomato in pink sauce with pancetta was fresh & delicious. The breaded eggplant, pomodoro, fresh mozzarella, basil, with parmigiano was light & tasty. I completed my dinner with pistachio cheesecake was amazing I definitely will be returning soon.

I love this place as the food is incredible and the staff is super nice. It's a small place, but have always had a pleasant experience. I go with my girlfriend and we sit at the window seat.

Chose trattoria fortunata for a group of 8 that were in town celebrating a friend's birthday. When I called toMake reservations the waiter,Colin, asked me to hold while he confirmed with the chef that an 8 top would be ok.After confirming that our groupCould be accommodated we made a reservation for 730. We arrived at 720 and were greeted and quickly seated by Colin. We ordered drinks and a few appetizers then a few minutes later our entrees. One of our apps arrived a short time later. We enjoyed cocktails whileWaiting for the rest of our food to arrive. Again Colin was very attentive toOur group. After waiting till 900 pmFor the rest of our apps and entrees to arrive I chose to cancel our food order and pay the bill for the items and service that we had received. I honestly cannot rate any of the dishes because we never had an opportunity to try any of them. The chef/owner was argumentative about the extended amount of time that we had waited, ironically he was able to find time to come out and visit with another table despite our extending wait time. I wouldn't recommend waisting your time at this restaurant. There are plenty of others eager to treat their customers in a timely and tasty manner.
Be the first to ReplyService was slow and ineffective.
Took over an hour after being seated to be served. Restaurant was cold, we dined with our jackets on and server was unable to turn off ceiling fan. Other patrons had the jackets on as well. Food was fine but expected better for the price.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was really good.
The waitstaff guy was excellent. You could not order a side of pasta , which I thought was very odd at an Italian restaurant. Also odd was no printed menus. None posted anywhere. I watched several couples walk in, ask to see a menu & were pointed to the QR code and they walked out. Also, no Angel hair pasta offered. It's a quirky place, but, I'm going back to try the chicken piccata.

After trying them all, this is in my opinion the best Italian food in Saratoga and on par with the best Italian in the city. The spot is easy to walk past, but well worth stopping in. The sausage and broccoli rabe is a must try.
Be the first to ReplyI was looking for Italian and happened upon Trattoria
I was looking for Italian and happened upon Trattoria Fortunate. It's a bit of a whole-in-the-wall, nicely but simply furnished. The food is amazing, having more of a home cooked flavor - bright and appealing - than what I find elsewhere. And it's 'just-out-of-the-pan hot', not the 'under the warming lamp' heat one becomes used to these days. I had the eggplant parmigiana and crab gnocchi. The eggplant was lightly breaded, finished to a pleasant crispness then covered lightly with a fresh sauce and just enough cheese to complement that finish, not bury it. The gnocchi were light and fluffy, sauced with what seemed like the same sauce which readily accepted the addition of the crab, roasted tomato, and pancetta to produce a very flavorful dish.Service is attentive. Just keep in mind it's a small, chef-run operation so the speed of food preparation will likely be impacted how packed the place is. Any wait, though, is definitely work it!
Be the first to ReplyOrdered takeout this week.
This place looks like a cute restaurant to eat at. Ordered just a few things since the family wasn't that hungry. I liked the rice balls. Salad tasted like any other salad. Broccoli rabe was on the spicy side and the pasta was more Al dente. Sauce was rich and not so much liked typical vodka sauce. Overall food was good, but I had a bit higher hopes based on the yelp reviews.
Be the first to ReplyYes! Go here.
Easy to walk by but don't. Go in and have a meal you won't forget. Everything was terrific. It's rare I go to a meal where EVERYONE is raving about everything. From service to food quality, Trattoria Fortunata has it all. We got the recommendation from a friend and loved every minute of our meal. The ambiance is more like a mid century diner with candles and tablecloths, however it's cozy, quaint, and charming. Who would have thought, artful creative dishes on a side street in Saratoga Springs, worth the drive from Manhattan or further.

This place is amazing! Such a nice family feel and very welcoming. Everything we ate was amazing and I highly recommend!! We had the Burrata to start, and two great pasta dish and finished with the tiramisu. The service was lovely and we will definitely be back.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food.
Large servings. I recommend the gnocchi bolognese. Great service despite it being understaffed. The server obviously works mainly in the kitchen but he gave it his all and was very helpful and enthusiastic. We will be back.

This was a great find on Phila! The food was delicious and the service was excellent! Thank you and we look forward to dining with you again!
Be the first to ReplyAll the food was incredibly oversalted and nearly inedible.
We ordered three dishes: Rigatoni alla vodka, chicken picatta, and impossible bolognese. My mom had the chicken that she forced herself to eat due to the cost. She complained that it was both too lemony and salty. The bolognese was my dish, to which I added plain tomato sauce and heaps of kale to desalinate it. I almost chucked it, but didn't want to waste money. And my usual go to at Italian restaurants, the rigatoni was also heavily salted. I have a tip for the restaurant, taste your food!
Be the first to ReplyThis unsuspecting gem will serve you some of the best
This unsuspecting gem will serve you some of the best Italian food in the capital region. A family dynamic with the head chef having culinary experience with the likes of 15 Church, they have taken classic Italian dishes and taken them a step above. We went here for my father's birthday with a big party and we're served dish after dish that hit on all levels including the bolognese, gnocchi, calamari, and more. The waitress was incredibly nice and accommodating and the chef even came out on a couple occasions to check in with how we liked each dish crafted for us. The attention to details and clear passion and experience that goes into these old world recipes is tremendous. Anyone in Saratoga would never regret spending their dinner at the Trattoria and mosey on over to downtown Saratoga right around the corner if you so wish. Cheers

Such an adorable spot with incredible food! Service was some of the best I have ever had in Saratoga. Our waitress was personable and attentive. She really made our dining experience so lovely! But the food is really the star of this establishment. The orecchiette was so delicious and fresh. Will be coming back to this spot for sure!
Be the first to ReplySo I came here on the recommendation of a friend.
Looking through the menu I chose the one pasta option that did not have any type of cheese in it because 1 I'm lactose intolerant 2 I just don't like cheese. first it took quite a while to bring out the bread for the table. then another 25 mins or so for our main dishes (all pastas). the waitress brings out all the dishes and there is mine - shrimp on top of the pasta all covered in grated cheese. i told the waitress there's no mention of cheese on the menu for this dish that's why i ordered it. she apologized and offered to make another. Really?? it took 25 minutes to get this one out I wasn't in the mood to wait for another 25 minutes to eat- I politely declined I scraped the cheese off the shrimp as best i could and left all the pasta. there was no offer of recompense, free coffee, free dessert, anything off the bill..... nothing. no so happy about any of this.
