The views were amazing! Service horrible and they add a service charge to your bill !! The food was fast food expensive for what you got. Then they charged me in euros with > 10 euro exchange fee I was not asked if i wanted to pay pounds! Horrible place rip off! Just get the view and leave!

It's very badly organized. Had to wait 30 minutes and then we left because nobody took our order at the table. They just told us "5 minutes".
Be the first to ReplyHorrible place
It's dark, dingy, the dรฉcor is ugly, the staff are moody, it ruins the magnificent Rock experience (this used to be a lovely Cafรฉ)
Be the first to ReplyAppalling service
Manageress was rude and more concerned at barking to her staff than those customers waiting to be served! Prices on the menu were wrong.
Be the first to ReplyOverall poor
Poor food and poor staff (who did not know what they were doing). Amazing views! But seeing as itโs the only place at the top and you cannot take food up there due to the monkeys/apes, you are trapped and they can get away with being poor. Would recommend eating before you go up! Was reasonably priced, at least they didnโt rip you off.
Be the first to ReplyBelow average service + warm milkshakes. Solid views.
The location is lovely. But the service is really not good. Service is also very slow. They also make milkshakes with no ice - so they are warm (not ideal after hiking up the rock!). The mezze platter was okay. Itโs also annoying that they bring the bread basket at the same time as the food.
Be the first to ReplyNon existent service at the top of the rock
Went into the cafe and we sat down. I spotted a waitress and asked her if we needed to go and order and she said "the waitress will come to you for your order". We waited and no one appeared, then the waitress we spoke to came over and started to put drinks on our table. To which I informed her they were not for us (she had gone to the wrong table). So we still waited to be served and in the end we got up and walked out. Had seen the previous bad reviews, but we only wanted a cold drink, so we thought we would give it a try. But never again, such a waste of what could be such a prime spot due to crappy, non existent service.

Overprized, dirty dishes, bad and slow service, toilets without water (dirty), only nice view, never more, donโt recommend.
Be the first to ReplyWhat a great spot for a coffee!
Called in for about 40 minutes for coffee and cake not long after getting of the cable car. Food and drink very tasty and good value for money. Served by a very polite waitress. The views were spectacular and there was direct access to the viewing platform. Would not hesitate to return.

Almost as interesting as watching the apes through the windows, was watching the ten or more disinterested "waiters" trying to avoid serving anyone. It'd not that they were rude or unpleasant, just useless. 4 cans of warm cider were eventually brought to the table, with a glass containing a solitary ice cube. Asking for a further glass full of ice, and we were brought two more cubes and told if we wanted more he "might" be able to get some. Requesting what was in the solitary advertised special cocktail was met with a "I don't know". He did go and find out bless him, and on the way there and back did stop to chat with his fellow waiters and waitresses, who were milling around in packs, trying to avoid the customers. A lot like the apes outside then, badly behaved and untrainable.

Firstly let me make it clear; visiting the Rock of Gibraltar has been a dream of mine for some time. The zoologist in me has craved Barbary Macaques since forever. The photographer wanted sunny seas and straits. The seaman in me fell for the multitude of cruise ships and tankers. But this cafe, when we scrambled in desperate for a cold drink and a snack... well, it disappoints. In actuality my Diet Coke was the only thing they got right. The waiters / waitresses were seemingly disinterested, taking no pleasure in serving you. Sorry if we inconvenienced you... but is being courteous too much to ask. My chicken baguette was hard and lacked attention. The saving grace of course, was the opportunistic little cheeky chap that sat on the rail outside and eyed up our food - sparse as it was - with keen interest. It's not just the staff; some of the tourists showed no care for others, happy to barge past to secure seats and skip queues. Overall it was a slight on the sheen of the experience. Next time, I'll spend more time with the monkeys. They'd probably provide better customer service.
Be the first to ReplyBadly run but good food and views
We had to wait for 10 minutes to be seated despite there being tables free. We were then seated without menus and after another 10 minutes had to ask for them. The waitresses were unfriendly and not easy to talk to and we saw several other customers in a similar situation - two people asked for the bill waited a while and then had to come to the counter themselves in order to actually pay. However, when the food arrived it was very nice and the view is lovely.
Be the first to ReplyWould have got better service from the apes.
Miserable resentful staff, poor service. Waited 20 minutes for 2 cans of drink then had to re-order then practically had them thrown at us. And its not even busy! Avoid!
Be the first to ReplyGreat viewโs
Great views all round and a reasonably priced menu but the service was appalling one waiter kept saying one minute and wouldnโt look at anyone and the waitresses were friendly enough even if they were a little forgetful! The lady behind the bar however was top notch and helped out front a few times and clearly had experience of a busy lunch time period. Took them an age to take our drinks order by which time we were ready to order our food.

Lunch at Top of The Rock Gibraltar. We split a chicken avocado and bacon baguette for 5.50 Euros. Service at the counter where you ordered your food was a 2. Service where you paid for your food was a 2-3. The sandwich was a 4. Nothing fancy for sure, but the service was poor to say the least.
Be the first to ReplyTasty food, reasonable prices and absolutely stunning views!
We stopped in to this little cafe at the top of the Rock of Gibraltar in St. Michael's cave, frankly expecting typical tourist spot food and prices. We were pleasantly surprised to find both good food and reasonable prices in a nicer little sit down cafe with good service and amazing views! The menu had various tapas, fish and chips, and other assorted dishes. We had the mixed tapas with cheese, meats, hummus, olives and bread, an order of fish and chips. Both were good, and the wine and beers were reasonably priced.
