Where to begin.
The food is amazing but the service is on another level. Visiting on a busy Tuesday night (taco Tuesday) I was very impressed with the speed of the service, cleanness and how welcoming this location. A quick shout out to Danny, Carina and Irene for the amazing service to make sure our order was perfect. I would highly suggest coming here after a long day to chow on the tacos and drinks. I think I found a new home to come. 10/10 on all levels
Be the first to ReplyThe passion fruit margarita is a MUST! So delicious.
The chips and guacamole are great too, with pomegranate bits. Service was quick & staff was friendly. I have yet to try their food, so I'll be back! Update: I went back the following day for lunch! I grabbed 2 of the birria tacos. The black tortillas and the plating was were aesthetically pleasing for me. Let's talk about the flavor though! Wow, I was not expecting it to be so savory. The birria here taste pretty authentic! My favorite part had to be the pickled onions, I am a sucker for those and they put the perfect amount. I was definitely wanting more, but was full I could not order more (if that makes sense lol!) I'm excited to go back again and try the birria plate since the tacos were so bomb. I want to also give a special shout out to Jose, who happened to be there most of the times I stopped by. He was very nice and attentive. Thank you Jose!

Love this location! I always go with the taco combo since it comes with two tacos, side and a drink but this time decided to try the taco tester since I wanted to try 3 different options. I highly recommend their tinga and Baja tacos! Service is always great as well.
Be the first to ReplyFood is still good but the place is absolutely disgusting.
Everything is dirty. The seat cushions, floors, tables, walls, seat handles, even the number card that was placed on our table was black with dirt. No more and no thanks
Be the first to ReplyDelicious tacos.
Variety and quality is amazing. Outdoor seating Is nice. Would definitely come again!

I'm very disappointed to write this review as I have raved about Tocaya in the past. We came to this location on the way to LAX and made the decision because we had a reward for BOGO tacos, burritos, and salads. When presenting the reward, the cashiers both said they wouldn't honor the coupon if it was tacos but would accept burritos and salads. They simply stated that their system wouldn't take the reward but did not give any further information or ask a manager, which was frustrating because I would have hoped they would ask for help. I would hope that the cashiers and workers would try their best to help out a customer in any and every way and we did not feel like that today.
Be the first to ReplyYes, it's a chain.
But it's still remarkably good! My only caveat is is you're expecting a normal sized portion, you won't get one here. However, quality of the ingredients is outstanding. Try all the variations of soft tacos that they offer.. they are noteworthy. Enjoy!

Tocaya Century City is beautiful! For our lunch, we got a simple three taco sampler, which is great for one person to try all the tacos or for two to share as a snack. We also checked in on Yelp and got a free chips and salsa, which was delicious! Service was great as the server shared more info on the taco sampler and our food came out pretty quickly. Ambiance has always been nice at this location as it is part of Westfield Century City, so it's a nice place to stop and get some food while shopping!

Fast spot in the mall for a quick eat- this is also a chain- the deals and prices are pretty reasonable. Decorated nicely and presented well just that the food lacks flavor
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful location in the Westfield century city mall.
There's indoor and outdoor seating that's glassed in for wind buffer. Order at the register and then find seating. The service was sweet, but our orders were not correctly made initially . The issues were quickly resolved though. The salmon bowl was tasty though dry, and the plantain chips were well done. Don't forget to check in for some chips and salsa!!
Be the first to ReplyUsed to enjoy Tocaya, but not this time.
Very wilted and past best kale salad and a tasteless half filled del Rey bowl wasn't acceptable. Plenty of other choices for lunch at this mall. Keep walking past this place.

Let's start with beautiful atmosphere and great quality fresh food. I enjoy Tocaya Century City so much that my plan is to host a large gathering on their terrace. In planning this event, I spoke with (many times) Irene Rojas. Talk about beyond fabulous customer service and exceptionally communicative. Irene is amazing as she doesn't just talk the talk but walks the walk! She has been in touch constantly either by phone or email. She left no details out and always makes certain to get back to me expeditiously. Who Does That???!! Irene Rojas does! She is such an amazing ambassadress for Tocaya Century City. Plus she was so incredibly kind, considerate and eager to please. Looking forward to my Tocaya Century City event, more casual dining outings and interactions with Irene. Thank you so much, Irene!!

The 3 taco sampler is an awesome lunch or an awesome snack with a great margarita. Best value in town.

I could have literally traveled to Mexico by foot, learned how to make authentic tacos from an elderly woman, come back to LA, open a Taco restaurant, and eat unlimited tacos before the time it takes to get one taco from here. The food is good but how long does it really take to scoop meat into a tortilla?
Be the first to ReplyI am a regular and I like the food.
What I hate is the credit card processing system. I just spent 1/2 hour trying to order lunch, gave up an ordered somewhere else. I think the problem may be that I tried to order from Westwood - maybe that is a catering kitchen and not for public ordering? Then take it off the website. It kept crashing my order. I changed location and tried from Century City and still had problems. Don't make me log in through email just to order lunch and then crash. I also have trouble with your rewards system - it says it will apply as long as I use the same card, but it does not. It's the little things that are annoying to regular customers. Waste my time and I go elsewhere.

This location is in my neighborhood mall so my family and I eat here a few times here and there. With every time a different employee giving poor customer service. Food is good and on the healthier side. I'm not big on Mexican food but I dig this spot. Cool look and decent size. We'll be back here and there though their not anyplace special. And I'll recommend them for a decade meal.

My husband and son ate here last night and got REALLY bad food poisoning. We will never go here again and I would recommend others not to as well. It's been a horrible experience for them, which means something was majorly wrong with the food and preparation. I even called them to tell them and they asked a few questions and that was it - didn't seem like an urgent matter to them. They had a burrito with chicken tinga and the queso.
Be the first to ReplyThe food is decently priced.
The service is always great. The ambiance feels warm and inviting.

I've tried Tocaya a few times in different locales (Venice, Playa Vista) and this one is solid too. You order at the register and I've always gotten the Fajita Del Rey bowl with either shrimp or chicken and it's so satisfying. Their strawberry beverage is so good. The service is pretty quick. One of my favorites fast casual restaurants.

Overall: after reading some reviews I will preface that most of the service related comments are partially true. Keep in mind that this is not a traditional sit down restaurant with waiters and the like. You order and find your own seat as they bring out the food to your number. Food wise - solid Tex-mex esq flavors that lean more Americanized than traditional Mexican flavors. Food: the flavors are a bit on the mild side as expected. The chicken tinga (supposedly spicy) was slow cooked shredded chicken with typical tenderness and juiciness flavor as if it was drenched in paprika while cooking (very flavorful). When mixed with the rest of the bowl (protein bowl for me) you get a mish mash of mixed rice with a hint of Mexican flavor. The tomatillo salsa is also mild in flavor as you can tell there are peppers (and seeds) but you don't necessarily taste nor feel them. The salsa arbol (much spicier but also $2) that I had asked for was much more flavorful, but tasted very similar to bottled Tabasco/Tapatio which is NOT worth $2. However, the food portions were very filling and definitely worth the price considering it's in the Century City Mall. Ambience/Decor/Service: my only gripe (no fault of the restaurant) is that there were multiple solo eaters sitting at tables of 4 thereby causing our party of 3 to have to make do with a table for 2. Not ideal but not the fault of the restaurant. Very nice decor and normal shopping mall ambience and crowd.

It's sad to see another great restaurant start to decline under the weight of expansion. Was excited to eat there yesterday after taking a break during the pandemic. But my partner and I were really disappointed with how bland and uninteresting the food was. The place used to be so delicious with great flavors and meals that made you wish you ordered extras. Can't put my finger on what changed - but for $40 for two - I think we are out on Tocaya. May it rest in peace with umami burger and sweetfin.

If you want something filling, healthy and flavorful then Tocaya is yours spot. I have visited multiple locations and they all have the same good vibe and service. My go to is the burrito Mexicano, be sure to get extra sauce. Their juices are really good too. It's good for meeting with the girls, dates nights or family's.

A delicious Mexicali treat! Got the spicy chicken tacos and they were freaking delicious. Century city is a hell hole though
Be the first to ReplyGot the vegan carnitas taco.
It fell apart!! All of it dripped out and all over me. Also shrimp taco was way too spicy. The fish taco did not taste good eitherZ it tasted like the fryer oil was old. Do not go here.

Finally made it to a Taco Tuesday! The girls wanted ramen (which I don't touch) so they headed to the food court while leaving me left to my own devices across the way here at Tocaya. I wasn't sure if I was going to go 'bananas' since I was alone, or be civil and just eat a few that I knew I could take down...I did the latter and kept all three the same (barrio style, achiote chicken, queso fresco, no onions) and they were doing a special on the guacamole, so I had to go with that along with tortilla chips. I happily took a # and found a seat. Food was delivered within minutes, and it was what I expected. Since I eat this same thing on a regular day, I knew it was going to be good. Water refills near the front, and I was as satisfied as can be, knowing I was eating better than my friends over at the new ramen place. I had to stay on the premises for this since you can only dine-in for Taco Tuesday which makes sense, but I was able to get my remaining chips and guacamole to go, so I went to share this over at the court. I could tell they were envious as they picked at their bowls, so I knew I made the right decision. Tocaya is good ANY day of the week, so don't limit yourself on Tuesdays...
