The Waldorf Hilton, London Reviews from The Last Year
Very well located.
Nice breakfast selection and buffet. A little slow on the service. Checking in may be a wait since they only had 2 people working the reception...
Never again
Never again - so disappointed staying at this establishment. On arrival the door man was lovely and there ends the hospitality. The check in staff were rude and not helpful at all. We experienced an issue with our booking as weekend away was booked from overseas by my husband and this caused credit card drama on arrival plus our room wasn't ready until 4pm and apparently we were upgraded !- the upgraded room was tiny, 2 x cups and a kettle on a tray type of thing. Not wishing to upset my mum, I let it go. I think the check in credit card drama could have been dealt with so much more professionally, perhaps by offering us a tea / coffee and relax while they sorted it with my husband overseas in Ireland. (I'm sure we're not the only mother daughter duo that travel to see a show in London as a gift idea). I was extremely disappointed as the weekend away was a treat for my mother to go to some shows and see the sights of London. This hotel although convenient to attend the shows just put a dampener on our weekend away. Most staff members looked miserable apart from the female maître d at breakfast and door man both of who had beautiful polish accents I think. Having only stayed at the beautiful Marriott on WestMinster bridge the week before, moving forward I will choose to stay at the Marriott instead.
A Very Good Stay.
The hotel is in a great location, especially if you’re theatre goers. Our king executive room was of ample size and comfortably furnished with a sofa and armchair. The bathroom was large with a shower over the bath. As a Hilton Honors Diamond member, I received full buffet breakfast in the restaurant and Executive lounge access. The Executive lounge provided a nice afternoon tea. In the evening, rather than the usual buffet, canapes which were good and varied, were delivered by servers. There was a good choice of beer, wine and spirits. All members of staff, from front of house to waitstaff in the lounge and restaurant were friendly and professional. My pre-stay email was answered promptly and most requests granted.
Spotless & Spacious!
Fabulous and spotless room. The lady at the front desk of check in was really great and actually upgraded my room for a very very small fee to an executive room. Amazing location in the centre of London right next to covent garden and many shows.
You Will Love It Here
We were very pleased with the warm hospitality, comfortable beds, delicious breakfasts, and accommodations to special requests prior to our stay. I always enjoy the Hilton properties, but this one has an additional benefit, the wonderful neighborhood of Covent Gardens. From the welcoming staff at the door to the sales director, this is a great group of fun, positive staff.
Outstanding
Absolutely outstanding assistance from all staff. Everyone from the doorman, front desk staff, luggage staff, housekeeping and executive lounge staff were so kind and very helpful. Our room was perfect and very clean. Will definitely stay here again in the future.

Upon our drop off from our ride, we were greeted by the friendliest doorman, Reddick (sp?). He efficiently got us squared away with our bags and assisted with getting us to the check in desk. Bella checked us in with a very kind demeanor and upgraded us due to our Diamond Status. From there were personally escorted to the Executive Lounge where were offered free drinks and snacks while we waited for our room. Their breakfast buffet is excellent. The bar, Good Godfrey, makes an excellent Old Fashion. They also offer High Tea, which was an excellent experience. The staff treated us like royalty. We felt very pampered. The hotel is nicely decorated and clean.
Your proof of booking with points doesn’t matter to this hotel!
Beware of booking with points with this particular hotel. I booked with 100% points almost a year in advance and upon the checkout was charged over $1,300 for two nights, on top of all the points they kept! The front desk folks were very rude about this obvious mistake and refused to look into the matter – this is why I am leaving such a poor review. The issue is still being resolved by Hilton International Guest Relations. If it weren’t for this, I would have still given the hotel only 2 stars at the maximum – great location, but tired rooms and rude front desk staff (one particular older male who checked me out), breakfast only from 7am (so no food for you if you are flying out early). Their concierge service could get 5 stars as Matthew, who helped us out with some bookings did an excellent job finding us tickets to some plays at the last minute.
Terribly disappointed
Homage restaurant was awful! The service was diabolical! The food was mediocre. The staff here were not welcoming at all, considering it was birthday. Extremely disappointing evening. I would not recommend. It was a set menu, upon ordering a drink, the waiter came with the card machine to pay. We had only had a starters!
Thank you
We had an excellent stay at the Waldorf Hotel in London! The location of the hotel was just perfect, walking distance from many attractions, restaurants and shops ! We stayed at this hotel to celebrate our son’s 4th birthday! A special shout out to Irina, Guest Relations Manager who took special care of our stay! She organized a special surprise for our son Adam on his birthday! Thank you Irina for everything you did for Adam. A special shout out to Douglas Reid. A very nice doorman ! I won’t forget his recommendations and all the help he gave us. We will definitely come back! Antony
Great stay
We truly enjoyed our stay with our extended family. The hotel has an amazing atmosphere thanks to its more than a 100-year history, yet offering all the facilities of our modern era. We were very happy with service and friendliness of staff, especially Mr. Douglas, always welcoming us with a smile at the entrance of the hotel and the bar supervisor, who gave us priceless advice on great food and drinks in the whole neighborhood.

So the location is amazing if you want to be near shows and Covent garden. It's not as swanky as things you will find in Mayfair but I prefer Covent gardens bc of the array of shopping and food choices. Theater is close by and this location is really hard to beat. The staff is absolutely top notch and 5 star and very helpful. Always friendly and super helpful. The rooms..well they are an old hotel and it's hard to do much with it. Rooms are clean and serviceable. My bed was actually very comfortable and housekeeping was prompt. I would recommend getting a room with lounge access as they have snacks and happy hour everyday and that's well very cozy Overall a great stay and we had some things go wrong in the room but they were prompt in fixing. We did like booking with Hilton bc they do allow you to book connecting rooms which if you are traveling with kids it's imperative
Can hardly even be effusive enough about our recent stay!
Can hardly even be effusive enough about our recent stay! What a delight from start to finish. Every team member is so kind and helpful, from the front desk to the concierge and porters to the breakfast and tea room. Lovely rooms, comfy beds, beautiful trappings, and some wonderful history. Delicious and bountiful daily breakfast, and the unique Beauty and the Beast tea was a whimsical, magical treat! Excellent service, atmosphere, and offerings in the executive lounge. Location can't be beat. Will ABSOLUTELY return!
Stayed here for two nights and located in a good location
Stayed here for two nights and located in a good location and near two Tube Stations which is extremely convenient. Room was relatively large for being in the UK. Our room was unfortunately right in front of the elevator so we could hear it opening and closing. But the room and bed was super comfortable. Bathroom was large but I have two things to say. They place the flush button above the toilet but the toilet seat cover covers it so when you flush you have to push the seat cover slightly to flush which is not efficient. The bathtub is this half glass that swings so things can get wet when showering.
I spent eleven glorious nights here recently.
The hotel underwent a renovation around 2014. Arguably, it's time again but it's still quite comfortable and much nicer than last time. I began in an adorable apartment style queen room on the fourth floor. I liked that it had a foyer. I was moved as an upgrade to the second floor E rooms with a king. It did not have the foyer but the size for central London? Wowza! It's light on bathroom and room amenities here, but still wonderful. It's a fave of Hilton Diamond guests. The lounge is comfortable but crowded. So, consider that you don't want to expect to rely on the club everyday. The location cannot be beat. It was an easy walk to Convent Garden and Trafalgar Square. It's in the heart of the theatre district, so it's absolutely perfect for seeing shows. It's an easy walk to Bloomsbury too. But, the bus stop is right outside the door. It was so easy going as far as Highgate and Shoreditch, in the pouring rain! The Monkey Bar is soothing. It stops serving food at 11, closes at midnight. It's swanky without the fuss. The servers are so nice and they hustle! The door men were simply our favorite. While we need no help in London (lived there), they still offered ideas and always checked to make sure we had plans, an umbrella and a strategy for dinner. Worth every dollar spent. Perfect for the seasoned UK traveller or couple. Not for families, mainly business travelers and couples. Little for kids or teens here. See website for all the details.
I should preface this by saying that I'm a Marriott
I should preface this by saying that I'm a Marriott loyalist. I had originally booked the W London, but I couldn't get over how expensive it was going to be and after searching for more affordable options at a similar star rating, the Waldorf came up. Staying at the Waldorf for 4 nights was over $1000 cheaper than any of the nearby Marriotts so I had to suck it up and put loyalty aside. Our stay was so excellent that could I dare be converted? Location: I loved that the hotel was located within walking distance of Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus (and all the rest of the major tourist hotspots), BUT it wasn't right smack dab in the center of it. Because of that, it wasn't loud and you weren't fighting to get through people to enter into the hotel. Just being a few streets away gave it a calm and less busy feeling even though it was so close to the action. Service: The service was excellent. From the wonderfully friendly and pleasant doormen who greeted us daily to the awesome housekeeping staff, everyone was great. The housekeeping team was especially phenomenal. Our room was cleaned so thoroughly and organized beautifully. I felt like they did an exceptional job with more attention to detail than I've experienced in other places. Room: I was worried the room would be tiny, but it was actually more spacious than expected, especially since we had chosen the lowest cost and size option. We were able to spread out all of our things across the room. I appreciated that the room had a variety of plugs (UK, EU and US plugs). This was helpful! What an absolute great stay! I would 100% stay here again. Pro tip: use the Holborn tube station going to and from the airport. The covent garden one may be closer but it's an absolute mess and it's much easier to navigate the Holborn one.

I stayed for business for 4 days in October 2023, and I would love to return on a future trip. My room was tiny--but a jewel box! Everything I like and love for travel was in place: Adjustable lighting for tasks and ambiance; a pretty little desk big enough for laptop work; comfortable bath; and a kettle + tea setup with china and biscuits. Extra bonus: a big and useful gym. And oh yes, when I arrived jet lagged and starving, the doorman directed me to a nearby coffee shop for the perfect big greasy breakfast.
Firstly, the good.
.. I was given a room upon early arrival (King Executive) and staying 3 nights. The breakfast in the Executive lounge is lovely. The bad... 1. No in-house pressing/laundry service (unexpected for a purportedly 5-star property) 2. Room is musty smelling 3. Dirty stained towels 4. After stating clearly I did not want delivery of a package to my room until my son's arrival because I was planning to sleep after an overnight flight from New York, WITH THE DO NOT DISTURB LIGHT AND TAG ON THE DOOR, much to my surprise when I was awakened when an employee entered my bedroom with his key to deliver the package. 5. After complaining to management about the unauthorized entry, a gentleman knocked on the door twice (privacy light still was on with tag on the door) to deliver laundry. It was someone else's laundry - not mine. 5. Housekeeping did not replenish coffee/biscuits or water. We had to phone to get this. 6. There was a drip from the ceiling. Engineering came - saw the drip on the rug and the spot on the ceiling beam - and recommended a room change that never was realized. 7. Came back from Executive lounge where room key worked to enter but upon return our keys were deactivated. For 1,000 GBP per night I expect WAY BETTER!!!! Do not stay at the Waldorf London - it's no longer a gem in London.
Do r let them put you on the 8th floor if you have luggage.
Elevator only goes to 7th floor and there is no one to be found to help with luggage upon check out. Called Receptionist; concierge and guest services. Each wrong over 20 times with no answer at 10:40 am on a Friday. Beautiful property poorly staffed.
Magical Stay
I think that the Waldorf is one of my favourites hotel in London. The staff and the entire team are just fantastic. I went to London from Manchester to go to Beyoncé’s concert. I always love to stay there, beautiful and charming hotel. I was checked in by Rose, she was so efficient, polite and kind. We got an upgrade and it made our stay even more special. Our room was big and beautiful, lovely for a good relaxing night. I’ve also had afternoon tea at the Homage restaurant and it was just incredible, they are doing a “ Beauty and the Beast “ themed afternoon tea and we loved it. Every single details from the table decoration to the food with all the most delicious ingredients to the harp sounds at the background. Ryan and Sophie looked after us for our afternoon tea and they’re just fantastic. So kind and polite both of them. They made sure to explain about all the sandwiches and sweets and the process of making. I was checked out by Olga at the front desk and she was adorable. This team go extra mile to make sure that you are comfortable and happy. Thank you so much to the entire team, you guys are doing a brilliant job, in special Thank you so much to Ana and Olga from the front desk Ryan and Sophie from the homage restaurant. Thank you. Warm regards, Etienne Junior. 😉

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!

I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.

LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
