A hidden gem
We stumbled across this place after leaving The Grove - wow! Fresh and cooked on order with the friendliest staff. Great portion size - perfect Thai food! Fantastic!
Be the first to ReplyGreat Food But Rude Server
As much as Thai cuisine is my favorite and I have been going to this restaurant since it opened up in my neighborhood, I will not be returning anymore. The food is delicious, and I have ordered over $1000 worth of it so it saddens me but after my last pick up experience it has literally left a bad taste in my mouth. It is important for me to support local businesses especially those owned by women of color. The owner has always been hands on and seems like a lovely person. My reasoning for this review is due to one of the main servers, I believe her name is Milly, she had box braids at one point and now wears her hair straight with blonde highlights. My experience with her as a server has been off-putting. Yesterday my partner went in to pick up our dinner and when he asked her for an eta she responded and said "you only ordered 10 minutes ago", he then walked away. We were told on post-mates that our pickup would take 10 to 15 minutes. The time before that when I picked up and handed her my card to close my tab and tip, noticed I was blocking the previous customer's car so had to turn a couple of feet to notify them that I was parked incorrectly and would be out in a couple of moments to which they agreed to. When I returned, I realized she had handed over my card to another employee. I don't have an issue with someone else closing me out than who I initially communicated with, it's the attitude at which I saw her from the corner of my eye toss it over and the lack of acknowledgment about what was occurring. It is not about what she says, it is the manner in which she does. As a customer you want to feel appreciated, not like the server is doing you a favor by even being there.
Yesterday while at the parking lot I spoke to the owner to tell her about my concerns. I don't feel satisfied so have decided that my money would be better spent somewhere else. After 2020, it is important to me to utilize the value of my dollar as a Black woman and this environment did not support this due to this 1 server over a course of a few incidents. Every other employee there has been professional to me. I hope no other customer experiences this berating and that this business can continue to thrive. Food, ambiance and ownership can be A+ but if a main server who works often does not represent the brand, it falls short and will keep consistent clientele away.
Everything I ordered was delicious!
Luckily I live practically across the street and can walk there. I love their curries and often got that to go. Finally a girlfriend and I actually ate in the restaurant. She thought the food was really good. I also like their pad Thai and the fried crispy creamy lime chicken is addictive. Plus the prices are quite reasonable and often a small serving of curry can be made into two meals. The staff is always very welcoming and friendly. I have always had a good experience there. The one bad review I see has me wondering whether it was the reviewer who was the problem.

Stay far away .... Go to Toi Instead .... Anywhere but here. Horrible customer service. Took them 4 times to get my order right, assuming they cannot really understand English that well. Donโt waste your time. Trust me
Be the first to ReplyExcellent thai restaurant, great food, friendly staff
Good value for money, their food is really tasty and you can taste all the ingredients. They both have takeaway and eat in.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious Thai. Quick take out or cool decor for dine in.
The Thai Thing is walkable from The Grove. The Pad Prik was awesome and perfectly spicy. The Pad Thai was traditional and comparable to others we have eaten. The egg rolls were phenomenal. Everything was really fresh.

I got my noodles to go and this was so delicious I think one order is huge and two people can eat from it! The taste is just amazing.

Amazing place for a delicious authentic Thai meal, highly recommend from a fussy eater. Great atmosphere & decor with an extensive menu.

I was so excited to see this place open. It's near my office - right next to The Grove and is hands down the best Thai in LA. My friend's wife is Thai and she agrees. The atmosphere is clean and welcoming, the staff are so friendly and the food is just amazing!

A small restaurant a short walk east of The Grove. It has the feel of a neighborhood place, but deserves more attention because of the authentic quality of the food.
But authentic means also that it is spiced like the real thing, If you order Thai spicy be prepared for something truly hot.
While I can make small notes about every dish we ate, nothing detracts from the fact that the taste is as close to what you will find in Thailand as any restaurant in the US.
If you are longing for what you had in Thailand, but have yet to find in the US, make your way to The Thai Thing and return to the City of Angels.
