Special, delicious
Food was delicious and the service amazing. Told the waiters I was pescatarian and they said they could accommodate the tasting menu straight away. I went with a starter main and pudding and each was 10/10.

We came for the £38 set price lunch menu, but augmented it with a first course. How could you not love smoked eel? The amuse bouche were a treat: pretty and delicious. Homemade bread is waaay too good to resist.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Lunch
This was my first visit to The Silver Birch and was a most enjoyable experience. The welcome was warm and the service impeccable. I chose the set lunch which was preceded by delicious amuses bouches. The confit trout was accompanied by earthy baby beets with a horseradish foam. My guinea hen main course was melt in the mouth tender. The rhubarb based dessert provided a refreshing finish to the meal. I will return!

Exceptional food, excellent service, sensibly priced wine list. We live quite nearby but had never heard of Silver Birch until the Sunday Times piece. Booked an early dinner table for a Tuesday, more in hope than expectation, given that the ST writer wasn’t Giles Coren. But we were bowled over by the quality and the “interestingness” of everything. Expect (unless you are drinking water) to spend over 100 a head for three courses. But it’s very well worth it.

Really nice food, fantastic service and a chilled atmosphere. We came for lunch and will certainly be back for the tasting menu!
Be the first to ReplyVery good weekend lunch
We feel fortunate to have this very good restaurant on our doorstep. An excellent Saturday lunch - a quiet time to go, well worth it if you have struggled to get a dinner reservation. This is top quality dining for a neighbourhood restaurant; great attention to detail and well paired flavours. The canapes and breads which arrive first are absolutely superb, well in excess of what you might expect from such a restaurant and they certainly leave you excited for your meal. Portions here for a Saturday lunch are quite dainty but that is just perfect after all the canapes and breads, could not be better. My smoked eel starter was a joy, looked beautiful too. Even the lovage butter which came with the bread was artfully pretty, it is all gorgeous. With my pidgeon main course the much anticipated Stornoway black pudding was in a mousse father than a slice - which I would have preferred - but that is just my preference. Someone else has compared this restaurant favourably to La Trompette nearby, both for the lightness of touch and for the price; I agree.
Be the first to ReplyAwkward service ruined the wonderful food
This is my second time coming to The Silver Birch. The food was very good as usual, but the service left me feeling awkward and uncomfortable. My partner and I dined here at lunchtime on a Saturday. Apart from us and one other couple, the restaurant was deserted, and the food was coming out rather quickly - almost too quickly for us to really savor it. I had the same experience the first time I had visited last year, but had put it down to the restaurant being busy on a Friday night. One specific incident I wanted to highlight is that between the starter and the main course, I got up to use the ladies room. The waitress was distressed to see me get up, and I told her I was only going to use the restroom. She told me “but we were about to serve your food”. I didn’t know how to respond to this. She then went and reported this to the American server / maitre d / bartender, who came and told me “but we were just about to bring out your food”. He genuinely wanted me to return to my seat! I felt quite irritated at being reprimanded twice like this, and I told him I would only be a moment. I also peeked into the kitchen, and my food wasn’t yet on the serving window, so they couldn’t have even finished plating yet. And even if they had, surely they could have kept my food warm for a few minutes, or just left it at my table if they were that overwhelmed? This felt truly surreal; I felt as though I was at school and needed not only the teacher’s but also the headmaster’s permission to use the washroom. I tried my best to enjoy the meal after this incident, but I just felt awkward and couldn’t wait to leave. I felt that the staff thought that I was beneath them and I had committed some sort of faux pas by daring to get up during the meal just for a few minutes. I shouldn’t need to defend myself, but I’d like to point out that I’m no stranger to fine dining, and don’t think I broke any unwritten rules during our meal that could warrant such treatment from the staff. At the end of the meal we couldn’t wait to pay our bill and escape. Despite the incredible food, I just feel too awkward to come back and face the staff, so I won’t be returning or recommending the restaurant to friends, but I hope that management takes this feedback positively and tries to create a more comfortable and welcoming atmosphere at The Silver Birch!

We dined here for my birthday and found the food and the service fantastic. A hidden gem. Would wholeheartedly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyGreat little gem in West London
Great place for dinner, nice calm atmosphere. The sampling menu is fantastic, especially with the wine pairing!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent restaurant! It’s a 10!
What a wonderful restaurant! We had the Christmas lunch set menu and it was outstanding! Menu said it was three courses, but with the bread and “snacks” they provided, it was more like five courses. All were excellent. The snacks were shallots and pork. Bread had perfectly salted crust. Starters of trout and ravioli were very, very good. The main menu selections of cod and hen were perfectly cooked. The desert of Christmas pudding was delicious. Combined with the impeccable service, this restaurant should have a Michelin star. All at a very reasonable price. This restaurant is a 10!

Be the first to ReplyGreat Addition to Chiswick High Road
Good layout and menu is ok, service very good. Great to have this in the High Road, a change from the chains.
Be the first to ReplyA Birthday treat
Service was excellent! We chose to miss the starter and went straight for the mains which were delicious and we would highly recommend. Overall, a lovely experience and great birthday treat.
Be the first to ReplyIncredible dining experience
Absolutely wonderful dining experience; attentive staff helped us navigate the menu with our slightly awkward dietary requirements. The food was perfect (the poached duck to start was particularly excellent) and the accompanying cocktails were also well mixed.
Be the first to ReplyHidden little Chiswick gem!
Hidden little gem in Chiswick! Highly recommend. The food is great and full of surprising textures and flavours and the staff are simply so courteous. I come back all the time and always have a great experience.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing fine dining restaurant
We visited with my parents back in January and I just wanted to say what a fantastic place this is and a great addition to the Chiswick dining scene. The food was absolutely exceptional, cocktails amazing and the staff were super friendly. Definitely a great place for a special occasion.

Eaten here twice now and both times we’ve been very impressed. A great new addition to the W4 food scene. Food is excellent (creative but not weirdly so) and service - especially the Maitre D’ - is faultless. Friendly, attentive but not intrusive. Will definitely be back.

Since we discovered this place 4-5 months ago, we have been enjoying our weekend breakfast/brunches. Unique menu, where description does not do the justice for what you get. We tried smoked salmon on toast, Beef tartar, Buttered mushroom with egg yolk and soy, Devon crab salad, Flourless chocolate cake. Everything was very tasty, however my favourite was buttered mushrooms on toast.
Manager seem to be flying around, delivering quickly and always still have time to make a conversation. Great place, highly recommended!
Great place
A very welcome addition to Chiswick!
High quality food served by attentive, friendly staff in a relaxed, but still elegant setting.
Staff are well trained and clearly keen to please. Can feel there are too many at times (seven front of house in a very small place).
Delicate, pretty food but you won’t go home feeling hungry. Shortish menu with good options for vegetarians. Not sure about grilled lettuce starter but duck was delicious, as was monk fish.
Our new favourite in Chiswick
Just amazing
A breath of fresh air in Chiswick. Unique menu and a very welcome change from the standard offering.
We started things off with cosmopolitans followed by starters of beef tartare and onion bloom ( you must try this)
Unique flavours and good portion size.
Then chicken and skate wing with sides of seasonal greens and garlic potatoes. Very nice. Finished with rhubarb and a knickerbocker glory. Wonderful! Will be back
Tasty food, nice decor, polite stuff
This is an excellent restaurant which is very underrated. Almost all dishes ordered were very tasty, stuff very polite and the vibe of the restaurant was very cosy.
Would recommend.
Creative and interesting approach to food, with a stylish and beautiful but understated approach to decor
We were absolutely bowled over by how great our food was. We loved how the menu was simple and not overwhelming in terms of its choices, but allowed the fantastic creativity of the chefs, and the wonderful flavours of the food to shine. The ingredients tasted very high quality and fresh, and we were all very pleased with our dishes.
The service was attentive and speedy throughout, and the staff asked for feedback, as well as giving us the space to talk. What more can you ask for, in a restaurant?
A special word for the decor: it was beautiful and well thought-through without being flashy and attention seeking. The ambience was great. and really contributed to having a fantastic time. In a way, this encapsulates the establishment as a whole.
We're happy to recommend this wonderful restaurant, and feel lucky to have such a great place in Chiswick. We will be back!
Exceptional Food and Service
Fabulous service and exceptional food. And the restaurant was decorated with very good taste. We thought the menu was inventive with great taste and flare.

We walked by this restaurant the other day and loved to try it , the atmosphere inside looked simple yet very elegant and welcoming so I checked the menu on display and agreed to try it soon .
We made our reservation for a Saturday brunch , its wasn't that busy , the service was excellent and welcoming with cheerful staff working in harmony serving us all when needed .
we loved our orders and would come back soon again to try another menu , such as lunch .
Nearly excellent
Restaurant busy and welcoming: with an attractive long modern room and good atmosphere. The food is original and aims high
Starters are excellent - freshly cooked/prepared original ideas in ample portions. Try the roasted onion
We both had skate wing as our main. Not quite good enough as, although the leek sauce was delicate and well suited to the fish, the fish itself was over cooked, A pity. Vegetables great - crisp snd delicious
Service really good - attentive and responsive without being overbearing
Prices on high side for what it is - but hope to go again
