Faultless
My daughter and I went there for lunch today. The atmosphere did feel a little 'cold' but this could perhaps be changed as easily as painting the walls a darker colour. Apart from that the food was absolutely delicious. We both ordered the amazing Roast Rib of Scotch Beef with roasted veg and roast potatoes made in heaven! I had the rhubarb and custard dessert - rhubarb four ways and yummy custard panna cotta whilst my daughter had the generous cheese board. Impressive wine list and as soon as I have finished writing this review, I plan to book for next Saturday when they offer meats cooked in their wood burning oven. Young front of house staff provided a service just as good as the food. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you on Saturday. :-)

Pleasant modern interior. Professional, if a little cold & unfriendly for the reception and waiter service. The front of house staff are young, inexperienced and need training plus a senior experienced figure. The wine we ordered was by the glass, as all were driving, but the selection was very good. The restaurant is a bit soul-less, no music, no vibe and chatter! The food was very good in general, cod filet was superb but the pork roast was not. Very fatty & tough, warmed from the day before we guessed, which is not acceptable at this level. A bit of extra thought with the cooking and a better reception would improve the perception of this place immensely. It was good food but the ambience was lacking. Overall we rated it 7.5/10, and at £160 it was okay value for money. Worth visiting but needs improvements.

Dropped in last night Great staff Great food Only a bit slow clearing plates etc between courses We shall return

Encouraged to book an early sitting, arrived on time, restaurant empty. Two young staff, one on her first day, little knowledge of the menu. Poor sized portions, steaks without any veg, chips and onion rings classed as side orders @ £4.50 per portion adding £9.00 to each persons dish. Not recommended as value for money.

Returned to The Roost after visits several years ago. Great food and friendly service. Good menu choices and attractively presented food.

Be the first to ReplyCheck the wine you ordered!
We were dining on the Saturday evening before Easter and were hoping for a repeat of our previous experience. Sadly this wasn't to be the case and I urge all future customers to check the wine you order is what you get. We ordered a bottle (from the Reserve wines section) of 2015 Amarone from Castelforte, Valpollicella, Italy. A sumptuous and expensive red at £58.... an Easter treat.....Or not as the bottle brought to the table was not what we had ordered. As the bottle was being uncorked I asked whether it was definitely the Amarone and was assured it was. I was puzzled that the label showed that the wine was from the Casalforte estate but it wasn't an Amarone. To add to the confusion it was a 2018 and not 2015 as stated on the wine list. Anyway after an initial sniff and swallow and a bit of a debate with the waitress we agreed to return the wine as it palpably wasn't what was ordered. I can advise that we would have been charged £58.00 for a bottle that has a retail value of £12.50 - the actual Amarone we hoped to have has a retail value of closer to £30.00 I re-visited the wine list and ordered, from the Reserve list (should have known better....) a 2019 Bichot Veilles Vignes Pinot Noir at a £40.00 price tag.... The bottle duly arrived and this time it was what was ordered except it was the 2021 vintage. I didn't think I'd compound the awkwardness by asking why the vintage advertised didn't match the label. Starters were poor but mains and puds were excellent. 2 stars?

Attended last Sunday for a family meal, and were the last sitting at lunchtime. Three of us ordered the roast lamb. I have seen thicker cuts of meat in a packet of wafer thin ham. To each get 1 and half slices of almost-see-through meat was disappointing. However, potatos and vegetables were tasty, starters and desserts were good, and staff were friendly. We had heard such great reviews of this restaurant, it is a shame we felt like they had run low of meat and had to ration it out. Not terrible, just disappointing. Wouldn’t rush back.

My wife and I had a fantastic lunch at the roost restaurant. The food was sublime, we had the feather blade beef for our main. The ambiance and service were equally outstanding. Will definitely visit again.

We had a night out planned in Perth and I checked out "the best restaurants in the Perth area" online. One of the top rated restaurants was The Roost and I was lucky enough to manage to get a reservation for the night required. The restaurant is back out from Perth at the Bridge of Earn, however, the 15-20 minute drive was more than worth it. The staff, restaurant and food were excellent and it is definitely somewhere O would highly recommend if you are in Perth or the surrounding areas. Fantastic food, service and ambiance.

Encountered this after trying to find somewhere decent for lunch in the area during a day trip up north with my wife to pick up some books. This seemed to fit the bill and it was superb, a really good meal in attractive surroundings yet only about 5 minutes from the M90.
Everything about it was excellent, I would recommend it highly. It is easy to find, it is signposted as soon as you come off the M90 at Junction 9 heading for Bridge of Earn.
Exceptional food, kind and friendly establishment
We’ve just come home from a wonderful family meal at this lovely restaurant, delicious food and excellent service with all four of us (two adults and a 7- and 9-yr-old) catered for with care, patience and understanding.
The food was outstanding, but what made this so enjoyable was the care and kindness shown by the staff and accommodating us so kindly. The little roosters kids menu was brilliant too.
Thank you!
Excellent lunch venue
Enjoyed an excellent good value lunch today with two friends. We all enjoyed our selections and the table service was excellent. Would strongly recommend the pork belly, beetroot and smoked trout starters, the lamb and tuna mains and the tarts Tarim.
We will return to sample the steak and venison BBQ offerings !
What a find!
My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at this beautiful restaurant just out of town.
I had the beetroot starter which was sublime and then the seared tuna - also exceptional (as was the broccoli and almond side)
My husband had the king prawn starter and the cod with celeriac and this was also excellent!
The service was great - I would highly recommend a visit!
Wonderful restaurant
Warm professional welcome lovely dinning room and delicious food all beautifully presented, the flavours were exceptional and we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 courses.

We had an amazing experience at the restaurant last weekend, the choice of wines was very good, the food was out of this world, and the staff were very pleasant and helpful with choice of food & wines.
All I can say is that we will definitely be back again soon, and I would recommend to anyone looking for good meal out to visit The Roost Restaurant.
Birthday celebration
Friendly staff and amazing food. This is becoming our fav! Dishes so tasty and cakes are delicious too!
We couldn’t have spent a better evening tonight.
Fantastic food and service
Visited to celebrate my graduation with family and the food and service was outstanding. I’d wanted to visit forever: was not disappointed. Both me and my dad ordered the sirloin steak and my mum ordered the halibut. All cooked to perfection. The truffle chips were undoubtably the best fries I’ve ever eaten in my life. The pork belly starter was easily the star of the show though, absolutely melted in the mouth. The server was fantastic and responded to our every need. Expect another visit from us very soon!
