The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe Truckee Reviews from The Last Year

Find a new place to stay!!!! 60 bucks to park, no option to self park at all... For breakfast they only serve 50 dollar breakfast buffet. IF you dont want that, too bad, we need to MAX our profits....on you!&*@#. If you want just an omelet, you cannot order it in the restaurant, only from room service, which includes 11 dollar service charge, 22.5 % staff charge + 3.5 % service fee . RIDICULOUS ..... The restaurant is waaaayyyy over priced and the food is average at best, it has been this way for years now. Finally just done...... We booked our stay, no mention of the pool being under construction or the main sitting area of the hotel, the bar all out of service. So the pool was packed and not enough area to sit...you cannot check in until 5pm as well. The location takes you away from everything, nice , until you realize how it cost for anything at the hotel. 1 coffee, i cappuccino and cinnamon bun 30 bucks and...it was a stale bun!!! It just never stops with disappointments.

We had such a wonderful experience at the Ritz for our anniversary! Gavin at the front desk, thank you for your kindness x
Delighted to get out of the place.
First I would say the hotel staff were excellent and very accommodating. They moved us from our first room to a much quieter part of the hotel without any issue. The rooms were clean and the bed very comfortable. The thing that really upset us was the mandatory valet parking, it seemed to be run by another company and ended up costing us an extra $80-100 a day between charges and tips. I heard one valet asking another how much tip he got off me ; "$10 ...not a lot, but I suppose it is something".....This made me feel terrible , and that was the second evening of out 4 day stay. I was delighted when we left, Im sure it is very nice in winter, but would not go back in summer. I

I stayed here in May with three friends The criticism on trip advisor is spot on This place is not worth it. The service is inconsistent sometimes you get chocolate on your pillows other times you don't you might think this is a trite point it's not about the chocolate lol it's about bad management in a 5 star resort - and this extends into things like as I run a bath for myself I see there's little hairs in it pubic hairs near the toilet etc This hotel is 2-3 stars max The pool was closed in the morning They make you pay to use a locker and spa ???? Shame you when you've paid $1000 just ask for more and more money it's ridiculous They messed up my reservation I stayed 3 nights and I was supposed to have two beds I was staying with a friend from work so no we don't want to sleep in a bed together and we had booked a room with 2 beds So they gave me the world's worst sofa bed on springs...and told me I'd have to pay extra if I wanted to do a rollaway This is how a 2 star hotel would do it and I would be annoyed but accept it because it would be like a $100 hotel But a $1000 a night hotel???????? My bed was a SOFA. They treat the white guests here better I'm sorry but it's true. It's true. That's my experience and my observation! they did not treat me well. Now maybe if you're skiing immediately here then sure maybe it's worth it... expect a 3 star hotel though. I thought the ritz was a luxury brand but it's basically holiday inn, I'd rather stay there Whoever manages this place should be retrained or let go immediately A guy at the reception whose name starts with U (I won't embarsss him) is the one who did my horrible reservation ! Also my friend said it's not worth eating here the food was over priced and basically you get like a tiny taco for $80. I heard the salmon was good though. The on site gondala is very cool too. The pool was dirty is what my friend said once they did open it later in the day!
Amazing
Thank you to entire Ritz staff for making our 50th Wedding Anniversary stay one to remember. Champagne at check in then upgraded to one bedroom suite with mountain views. We enjoyed the property so much wee only left once in three days for dinner in Truckee on the recommendation of the Ritz staff. We enjoyed breakfast at Cafe Blue with Gus in the mornings. The pool staff was also very nice with drinks and snacks. Manzanita dining for anniversary was special with Kristen taking care of us. A special thanks to Frank and Barbara for the afternoon at The Lake Club. This is a very special place and I recommend if possible include this in your plans. Thank you again for a wonderful experience never to be forgotten...Tom and Leecia
incredible property and nice staff but many amenities
incredible property and nice staff but many amenities closed off - pool, kids play area, entire lobby - so unless you like to day drink not much to do during summer

Just got to the hotel about five hours ago and may check out early. 80% of the hotel is under construction. No gym. One restaurant that I can eat at. No sundries or market. Almost $600 for a massage at the spa. This is not what you should be getting for these prices. I've stayed at Ritz Carlton's before and this is by far the worst experience. The 2 saving graces if you will...the grounds/views and the superb staff!
Happiness in the snow
Well !! Hard to know where to start. Every time there is a snow storm we head here - preferably right before it hits. Truly a winter wonderland. The outdoor pool is very warm - steam coming off the pool while you swim in your beanie - drinks available at outside bar , not sure of hours. :) Manzinita is a great restaurant - pizza or rack lamb - great service also. Options - get the gondola right outside of Ritz to go down to Northstar and the ice rink/ shop area. OR stay by the 3 fireplaces at the ritz for wild boar nachos. BTW ski in out and snowshoeing. Something for everyone . Also - just sit by the large windows watch the snow fall and read :) Thank you Ritz Tahoe for many years of great vacations. Btw ... we request over patio/ ski view room. We are in room often with doors open - if you are an avid skier I don't think room type is as important . Have fun !!
Call ahead for construction and amenity status and exact room.
Sub-par experience due to undisclosed construction and amenity status prior to cancellation date. They called to discuss “experience” after cancellation date without penalty. Typical bait and switch. Lobby bar closed, fitness room closed/moved, much of hotel seems closed. Reserved large King w view and view is of pipes, dirt mound and roof of outdoor structure. Arrival and Room service excellent.
The bathtub is great.
I am in a regular room... not a suite or anything extra fancy... just a regular room and the bathtub is absolutely PERFECT. I am both tall and fat and this tub fit me perfectly. I could stretch out and be totally comfortable. The tub fixture is also really nice. The tub filled up really quickly. Even in fancy hotels, you don't see tub plumbing fixtures that fill the deep tubs up this quickly. Also, the bed is great. The mattress is one of those foam ones that is firm and holds you in place. I was just staying at another hotel last night that's in the same price range and it was so soft, I had a horrible night's sleep. I haven't even had a chance to do anything but take a bath and lay down and I am in HEAVEN. Also, the customer service is first class! 8/5 stars!
Beautiful
Beautiful secluded hotel but pricey. $60 per day for parking plus another $60 per day for resort fee. Excellent service. Helpful staff. Clean room. Comfortable bed. It is about 8 miles away from the nearest spot on Lake Tahoe, along winding path.
Don’t bring any valuables
Not only does the staff (whoever has key access) steal items left out, upper management holds no accountability and will do nothing about it. If anything does happen make sure to file a police report immediately for documentation. I found it strange that they have a sign in the closet stating they are not liable for anything over $1k. I’m assuming they have had this issue before.
Excellent service. Lounge is unbeatable. Love Ritz champagne.
Excellent modern, cozy & luxury getaway. The ski in & out option is a big cherry on this cake. The hotel is great. Rooms are great. The food is great. Kids activities are a great way to have some family fun. But these 2 things keep taking us back: 1) The service - You will be treated like family the moment you step in until you step out. 2) The lounge, if you end up getting access to it, especially the Ritz brand champagne, which is only served in the lounge. Right at the intersection of these points: the service in the lounge. Frank Frank, who is in charge of the lounge is simply superb. He also works by the front desk and certainly a charm to the hotel. The lounge staff is great. We came across excellent ladies and gentlemen like Angela, Aiden & Udit, who strive hard to ensure your stay is super comfortable. The lounge is closed until summer and we can't wait for it to reopen. We have been visiting this hotel for a few years. Our experience had some ups and downs in the past, but it looks like they are making significant efforts to improve the service and we clearly experienced it throughout all our stays this past winter season. The down-side of staying at this location though is that you will get used to it :-)
Fantastic stay at this property during March snowstorm!
This is our 5th stay at this hotel. We'd booked a 3-night stay that unfortunately fell on a weekend when the main highway to Tahoe from SF was closed due to a snow storm. We contacted Marriott and there was nothing they could do to help us but upon contacting the hotel directly, they were extremely understanding and were kind enough to move our reservation out by a day or two so that we could reach the hotel safely and have a wonderful stay skiing on soft powder snow! Our room was lovely and had a mountain view. They've refurbished the rooms since our last visit a few years ago. Our dinner at manzanita was a birthday celebration and every detail was perfection. Every single member of the staff from the check-in, concierge, restaurant, bell desk, and reception were all wonderful. During our last night our son became ill with a cough and could not sleep. When I called the front desk at midnight to inquire if there was any medicine available for purchase on the property, they sent someone up to our room with cough medicine which helped my son sleep and truly saved the day. Amazing service and every detail perfect. Impeccable, warm and kind service from everyone on the Ritz Carlton team - we'll definitely be back!
I've stayed at ritz Carlton's all throughout California and
I've stayed at ritz Carlton's all throughout California and the service here is by far the worst. Devin who works in the front desk was completely rude and not helpful at all. We ended up cancelling our reservation after we checked in because the service was so horrible. Will never be back again.
The furniture is not kept even at the level of motel 8.
When asked staff about it , they blame it on weather and other excuses. So if it is like this, no one has cared to check or change for months. Is this the Ritz class nowadays?
All I can say is WOW!
My wife and I stayed at this resort in '22 and decided to bring our 8 and 10 year boys for the first time. We were recognized for our Bonvoy Status (Titanium Elite) upon check in with bubbly and an incredible amenity in the room. They had pictures of our family on the coffee table and macaroons with my children's names on them! Bell Service was right on point, with my ski's being un-packed and sent directly to the Mountain Concierge. This service, as part of your resort fee, is unparalleled. You pick up your heated boots in the morning, while you are putting them on, they radio out to the ski guys who then lay out your equipment right on the snow to head down the hill! No carrying anything! Our children loved playing the pool, the hot tubs were hot and ready to go and the Smore's kits are a nice touch! They have added two brand new Top Golf Suites-we rented one for 1.5 hours and it was a blast. Great activity for the family without having to leave the resort. All of the food beverage outlets were on point-Cafe Blue, Manzanita, The Living Room, and Backyard Barbecue. We tried them all. The weekend breakfast buffet was a highlight. Our room was serviced twice a day by a great housekeeping staff. We also treated ourselves to a couples massage in the Highlands Spa. The room was amazing, staff was great and the amenities in the locker room are world class. What a great way to relax after a day of skiing. Lastly-this resort has definitely invested in using technology to make your stay better. By using the Bonvoy app chat feature, all of our needs were addressed immediately. You can also make amenity, spa, and dining reservations all through the app. I'll also address cost(because I see this in a lot of the reviews)-this is a mountain top resort that offers un-matched beauty, the best ski in/out location I have ever seen, a world class Spa, great food and exceptional service. Delivering all of that at 7,000 ft with one road in/out is not easy and is expensive. I felt that the cost absolutely was fair and equal to value provided. In summary-come on couple weekend or bring the family. This place has it all and you will not be disappointed!
Fabulous Stay at the Ritz Lake Tahoe
We went to stay on property for a family birthday celebration and our annual ski trip. From the moment we arrived we were met with nothing short of professionalism and warm, personal greetings. Daniel Terrazas (front of house manager) went above and beyond to meet all our needs and make our stay a memorable one. Because of his personal attention to detail and commitment to customer service, we will most certainly be back! The restaurant choices were tasty, ski valet was most convenient and the property, lovely. We thank you Daniel, staff and the Ritz Carlton for a fantastic stay.
Everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel
We came up just after they opened up the roads post winter storm. Everything was great from the bubbles at reception, the bellmen and valet. They accommodated our request for a double queen (originally a king with poolside view). We had spectacular view of the snowy trees. Service was impeccable, food was amazing, ski concierge was wonderful, hot tubs were hot and accessible despite the huge snowstorm they had just had (which had trapped most of their staff coming from Reno, so they had been short staffed, yet still managed to get things ready for their guests.). Turn down service with chocolates on the bed and zen music, and aromas therapy. They also keep their garage at temperature adequate for not needing to have diesel trucks sit and idle warm before being driven. Truly everything is well thought of and taken care of. Good job Ritz!! Can't wait to return. Did not get to try out their spa, but my friend who is a local and met up with us comes here often for the locals discount pass, and says they are wonderful! Looking forward to checking it out.
The rooms were nice.
Small. The view we had was that of a roof where they control the gandola. Stepped on a nail sticking out of the carpet near the bed. Guy who checked us in was not very nice. For the money you pay mediocre service in the hotel. I would say the ski valet were very friendly and helpful.
STEER CLEAR!
Front desk check in was terrific but over our 4 day stay I called the front desk 4 times and no answer. Housekeeping did a great job but I called them 3 times and got an answer once. The restaurant service was almost nonexistent. In The Living room, most empty tables were uncleared off and the 4 times we went we had to sit down at dirty table and find someone to clean it. Took forever to get a server and then to get the bill. At the main dining restaurant, we have a family breakfast and 2 meals came out after 25 minutes. Those two people were done eating before blueberry bagels came out barely toasted, cold, with only 2 visible blueberries on each. Weekend breakfast buffet was $52 which is absurd. Room service tax/service charges were ridiculous. A hamburger and chicken fingers came to $90!!!!! The resort only had one place to pick up a snack/coffee, etc., and it closes at 5 pm. You have no other options except a restaurant or room service. I would never ever stay here again. What a waste of money for subpar service and amenities.
Meh Value for the money
The staff are very friendly, cordial, and well trained. The prices vs value leaves much to be desired. Don’t be fooled by the name. Marriott owns this and it is just another big box chain hotel room. We stay in a lot of five star, Forbes rated hotels worldwide to compare to. For over $850/night we would typically have a bidet, high end plumbing fixtures, automated shades, and TV that will at least “mirror” or have PPV movie options. Food and beverage options are criminally expensive. Eight dollars for a cup of coffee. $23 for a bowl of chicken noodle soup. Valet parking is the only option and it is $60 a day plus the valet expect to be tipped on top of that. More often than not, when I call down to valet or the front desk they do not answer the phone for at least 20 rings. Wealthy people do not become wealthy by throwing money down the drain. This just feels like getting gouged rather than a five star luxury experience. I have no problem paying for such experience when I get it but you will not receive that here. This is definitely a one and done for my wife and I. Lift tickets at Northstar are also criminally expensive. $250 per per day but you can get 20% off if you purchase online a day ahead of time. We ski cheaper in Switzerland. Inexplicably, there is an air purifier in the room. Keep in mind we are in the mountains surrounded by gorgeous pine trees. You will find no purer air anywhere. A humidifier would be incredibly helpful as the humidity levels here are very low and your nasal passages get very very dry. The duvet on the bed could be much thicker/heavier as it gets pretty cold in the winter. There is one extra thin blanket. If they have other pillow options, it is not obvious. They do offer s’mores daily and have contingency plans to do them indoors when the weather is in hospitable. Like I said, the staff is great, and are the best reason to come here. The ski valet is very helpful with your equipment and generally we had a good experience And glad we came on this vacation. Just do not expect five star Uber luxury as this is not what it is.
One and Done - Didn't Even Get the Basics Right
Two stars for the on mountain location and stellar mountain concierge staff who were friendly and attentive. The resort itself is lovely but the experience fell far short of the expectations set by the Ritz brand (not to mention the outrageous prices they charge). Our room wasn't serviced a single time during our 3 night stay which is frankly unacceptable for even a mid-range hotel let alone from a "luxury" hotel. Aside from the basics they also failed to deliver or provide the "special touches" for Platinum members and "welcome gift" arranged by our agent. If you are incapable of delivering these why even bother offering it?
Kimberly at The Living Room was fantastic and friendly.
She made my 30th birthday experience memorable. Thank you Kimberly :)
Thanks House Manager Daniel Terrazas
Amazing experience thanks to their Front of the House Manager : Mr. Daniel Terrazas. It was truly a challenged experience… ending what the LA Times called it “ Monster blizzard, life threatening conditions “… Mr. Terrazas advised and helped making our trip back to New York easy. All the services at the hotel, monitored by Mr. Terrazas were in good check for safety and wellbeing of the hotel guests.

Beautiful hotel, staff is very polite! The food was delicious . What I like the most is that the hotel is very convenient. It has all the amenities you need to skiing and also it is connected to a beautiful village with many things yo do for the kids and great restaurants for family. Also, Daniel Terrazas was helping us since the beginning with the reservation. We will come back next year.
Great place to stay.
When you need to be more elegant and place to relax in the woods.
Wonderful!
We stayed here for two nights for a wedding. It was wonderful. Every single member of staff we engaged with made a point of being friendly and went beyond expectations. They really wanted us to enjoy ourselves. The food was delicious, our room was perfect, the setting is amazing. The wedding was just magical. I don’t understand why anyone would write anything negative about this fantastic place.
Poor manager and service
I've been bringing my family to this hotel once or twice every year for skiing since it is pretty close to Los Angeles. We appreciate the ski in and out set up. We noticed this year that some updates to the hotel were made. Ski valet and ski boots service areas have been improved with more efficient and friendly service. We also saw 2 new fire pit areas where you can reserve for private use. In general, hotel staff is very nice and accommodating. The service here has been pretty consistent for many years. Now, I don't expect anything really special. I know the level of hotel I'm staying in. I'm not at Aman resort or anywhere of that caliber. So my expectation is limited to a mid level hotel service. However, I do expect basic service and honoring of reservations made. One day, house keeping didn't service both of our rooms. I called about it. House keeping staff came over to ask if she can clean the rooms. It was after 6pm, and we had just come back from early dinner. I said it was ok and just clean them tomorrow. She apologized nicely and said that the reason she couldn't clean our rooms was that she had too many rooms to clean and didn't have time to get to ours. I didn't know what to say that. I told her not to worry, and she can do it tomorrow. This was a minor oversight. Not a big deal. One thing I'm really upset about was that I reserved one of the fire pit for our last day of the stay. I reserved it for a full day use, 9AM to 5PM, even though I was only going to use it for our lunch break. When we returned from skiing little before 2PM, our reserved fire pit was taken by someone else. I spoke to the staff including the manager about this. The manager informed me that the staff couldn't get hold of us so she assumed that we weren't going to use it and gave it away. He goes, "Don't worry about. We aren't charging you so all good." What!? He then goes, "Here's my card. Please contact me when you come back next time. I'll set you up." I was so confused. I argued with him about what the policy is when reserving a fire pit. On the website, it clearly states that there will be cancellation penalty and fees being charged if no show in regards to reserving the fire pit. Like when you reserve a pool cabana at a resort, you get charged no matter what. You use it for 5 min or the whole reserved time period. It doesn't matter. You are charged. At the same time, the hotel doesn't give that cabana away during the reserved time period. Not at this hotel. The reservation isn't honored. And throughout my conversation with the manager, he is talking to me about not being charged or giving me free reservation next visit, etc. Like money is going to solve the error the hotel staff made. I gave his business card back and said no thanks. I already spent few thousand dollars in cash just tipping your staff during our stay. I don't care about few hundred dollars you're offering to make up for the mistake. You need to do a better job and train the staff properly. I made my reservation through my Amex Centurion card concierge service. Money isn't my priority when on a vacation with my family. As much as I try not to be a demanding guest or tailoring my expectation to the environment, this type of poor service is quite disappointing. I hope improvements will be made.
Disheartening Experience: Former Patron Mistreated During Return Visit
Having previously enjoyed luxurious stays at the Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe and having invested considerable funds there, I was deeply disheartened by my recent visit as a non-staying guest. Despite my past patronage, my experience at the valet and later at the backyard BBQ left much to be desired. Upon arrival at the valet, I was met with a dismissive attitude and made to feel like an inconvenience. Despite explaining my previous stays and intentions to dine at the backyard BBQ while my family enjoyed skiing, I was met with coldness and a lack of hospitality. The experience was disappointing, to say the least, especially considering the reputation of the Ritz Carlton for exceptional service. Later, during my visit to the backyard BBQ, I encountered similar treatment. Despite being willing to spend on lunch and cocktails, I was made to feel unwelcome and out of place. The staff seemed more focused on catering to hotel guests, neglecting the fact that visitors like myself contribute to the hotel's revenue and should be treated with the same level of respect and courtesy. Overall, my return visit to the Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe was marred by poor treatment and a lack of recognition for my past patronage. It's disheartening to see a renowned establishment fail to uphold its standards of hospitality and inclusivity. I hope that the management takes note of these issues and implements measures to ensure that all guests, regardless of their accommodation status, are treated with the respect and warmth they deserve.
Incredible luxury experience
This property is absolutely amazing. We've been staying here for years and feel that this year they have taken their game to a whole new level. They've always had the amazing ski in/ski out location, fantastic staff, and pockets of excellence. But this year they're operating on all cylinders and our most recent stay was perfect in every way. The staff are out of this world amazing with countless examples of them going out of their way to make sure our stays have been perfect. A few to call out: -Frank went above and beyond in checking in to make sure our stay was perfect. He unexpectedly had a welcome gift delivered to our room for our daughter which she absolutely adored. -Julia at the front desk is exactly who you want greeted your guests -Gus at the Living Room lives to make sure guests have a great experience. He clearly takes above and beyond experiences to a new level. -Robbie, Brian, and the rest of the bell team are on their game (the bell and valet teams have been amazing during each of our stays over the years) -The ski valet team has really taken it up a level this year. Absolutely incredible group of folks. And the tone clearly starts with the Colin the GM who I've had the chance to chat with on each of our recent stays. I typically use this as a winter getaway but given this winter's experience I'll likely start visiting in the summer as well. Highly, highly, highly recommend the Ritz Lake Tahoe.
We like this hotel, but…
We have stayed here 10 time or more over the years and so we clearly appreciate everything the hotel and location has to offer. Good things this year: - Interior was updated in 2023, looks nice - Staff very friendly. New people every season but always glad to see some friendly familiar faces (Brigid has been at Manzanita for 15 years!) - Received welcome beverage at check in, upgraded room with a view and late check out offer - Food was good at Manzanita and room service Not so good things: - Big ice patch on pool deck. Our son slipped and hurt his knee. Hotel response was underwhelming (they were mainly focused on whether he need assistance - he did not but hurting you knee due to icy deck is still not fun) - One outdoor hot tub was cold on day 2, the other had greenish water with an odd odor - Access to the steam room/sauna now $75, closes at 5:30 pm. Goodby to after ski sauna. Never seen a fee to use steam room at any other RC globally. - Blackberries at breakfast buffet big time moldy, got taken care off quickly by staff - Ski season room prices are off the chart ($1500+ per night), making above issue extra noteworthy So, are we going to be back? Yes, we love the overall experience and remain hopeful that other glitches won’t add up again next time.
Your staff has been so wonderful to us that I owe you all
Your staff has been so wonderful to us that I owe you all another review. My wife and I are continually blown away by the level of attentiveness and accommodation to our every preference whenever we stay here. Not only do they allow dogs, but they make our two boys feel as special as we do. Being able to finish a day on the slops by just unclipping from your bindings and letting the staff take it from there is true luxury. As is returning to your room to find the turn-down service complete so you can relax after a great day of skiing and snowboarding at Northstar. This is truly a perfect resort on a nearly perfect ski resort: Northstar. Special kudos and thank you goes to the following people: Ken: you are a gifted professional and deserve the success you have clearly earned. You turned a potential 2 start experience into a 5+ after that brief hiccup. Eric at Manzanita: Even though we prefer not to drink alcohol, we had a wonderful time eating dinner at the bar and chatting with you and Alexa. We are difficult customers to please and you succeeded on every front. Katie at the gym: You're awesome and the Ritz made a great decision hiring you. My dogs loved meeting you. Ned has always been a good judge of character, so he gave his paw stamp of approval. The staff at Cafe Blue: (I'm going to unintentionally screw up your names) Gonzalo, Sashi?, Iwoman? (sorry!) You went above and beyond in helping me find that one thing. I can't believe you found it and even found a way to get it to us at the last minute! Unbelievable. Most trips leave me eager to return home towards the end. But in this case, I am already eager to return back to the Tahoe Highlands Ritz. See you all again next year I hope, Nick.
Lexie!!!!!!! Thank you so much for everything! This is the
Lexie!!!!!!! Thank you so much for everything! This is the least I can do and leave a yelp review for you! Thank you so much for being our server and being so amazing! She was so accommodating and super hospitable. Definitely lived up to the Ritz Carlton experience! #Lexie Fan! Also I wanna give a shout out to my girl Putu & Chandler Rice!!!!! Right from inception they were super amazing and professional. This staff is trained beautifully! Thank you Ritz Lake Tahoe!!!!!!!!!!
If I could five this 0 stars I would.
The customer service at this place is quite possibly the worst I have ever received at any business. I spoke with Jamie Jensen about doing a room block for my wedding. Some of my guests had already booked rooms at the Ritz at this time and she assured me that they would have 6 weeks to cancel and book a new room under the rom block. She emailed with rates and I emailed back that day saying we would like to sign a contract with them for the room block. She then proceeded to ghost me for a whole month and did not respond to 3 separate emails asking or any phone calls. I finally called the Ritz to find someone that could get the room block ready for me and it took me on hold for 45 minutes and demanding that I speak with someone that day for anyone to get on the phone with me because "no one was around that could help me." Finally the Reservations Supervisor David Lenosky got on the phone with me and assured me that they would take care of the issue. David then told me that Jamie provided me with the wrong information and my guests only had 7 DAYS TO CANCEL, NOT 6 WEEKS. He said they would allow my guests to cancel based on Jamie's representations. David emailed me immediately and I sent him the email chain with Jamie Jensen. The next day Jamie Jensen emails me some excuse why my emails didn't reach her inbox and then provides me the contract for the room block with the wrong dates-- twice after I sent her exactly what to put. Finally she sent me a correct contact and I told her I would like to sign it. She then proceeded to not respond to any emails again, despite multiple emails asking her to send the contract and CCing David. No one responds to emails at this place at all!!! I then called the Ritz only to get put on hold for 20 minutes and then the first operator transferred me to Marriott Bonvoy who could do nothing for me. I then sat on hold for another 15 minutes for another operator to tell me that there was no one at the Ritz that could help me with my issue and that I would have to call back during business hours the next day. When I explained to them that I could not call back during business hours doing my job, I was placed on hold for another 20 minutes for them to find someone that they said would call me tomorrow after business hours. This place is a joke for any hotel-- especially a luxury one. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BOOK THE HYATT INCLINE VILLAGE INSTEAD. They responded to my emails within the hour, got me my room block and my contract all together in less than a week and somehow came up with rooms for my guests even when a corporation did a complete buyout of the hotel for my wedding weekend. I have had my save-the-dates printed and addressed for over a month now and have not been able to send out because I did not want to send them out until my room block information with the Ritz was available to be on my website. THIS PLACE IS A MESS!!
Meh... at best- not what I expect at all at the Ritz- years
Meh... at best- not what I expect at all at the Ritz- years of coming and service was poor...... drinks weren't great...... not good time.
Beautiful property and some good amenities.
The staff was wonderful, overall. Our room was clean and had a great view. We were lucky to get some snow mid week, and that really made our time in Tahoe special. We loved that the Ritz did s'mores every night -- the kids (and adults) had the best time with those. The decor was festive and the grounds nicely maintained. The kids were so impressed by the gondola. The slopes were steps away, and so convenient. I appreciated the way folks treated the kids and went out of their way to make them feel welcome -- one day we decorated gingerbread houses and my 3 year old LOVED it. We were given special plates and cups and lots of colors for the kids most times we went out for anything. I've removed two stars because we didn't love the food at the Ritz Carlton. Service was oddly slow at all restaurants even though there weren't many guests, and the hotel was vastly overstaffed with many of them simply standing around. The quality of food in the Living Room, room service, and Cafe Blue was all quite low. The price of the meals was staggering based on the level of enjoyment we experienced. The only restaurant in the Ritz worth eating was at Manzanita -- which wasn't sustainable to do for 5 days on the same menu or for the price. I am a cheese lover but every meal was so globbed in cheese that it made my stomach hurt. One afternoon we had lunch in the Living Room and our waiter, Max, took 15 mins to bring a high chair for the baby, and while he was helping 2-3 other guests, he told us "if you need something, wave me down, otherwise I will try to do my best to come check on you." He brought my husband a 3/4 full beer (which we sent back) and my daughter an ice cold cheeseburger (which we didn't send back but left untouched). Our bill for this meal was about $150. This was our only negative interaction with the staff; everyone else was more than accommodating. But Max really inspired us to drive 20 mins (one way) into town to eat elsewhere from then on. No convenience is worth a $12 cup of stale coffee. We ventured down the hill to Northstar several times on the gondola, but being early season, there wasn't much open. We were given a list of restaurants at Northstar Village upon checkin at the Ritz, but the list was out of date and many of the dining options were permanently or seasonally closed. There was mostly pizza and burgers everywhere we looked (including Manzanita). The salads had a ton of bread and cheese on them, and the lettuce was wilted. We ended up going into Truckee to grab healthier, fresher, tastier options, and that was fine. Unrelated to food, we had to deal with some loud construction on our floor, as they started to build the club room. The men working seemed put out when we walked to and from our room. No one mentioned this at check in, which would've been appreciated. We also requested our free room upgrade if available (and believe me, it was available -- there were times when I wondered if we were the only guests there), and were denied. We'd also called ahead to have a crib in our room ready to go and it wasn't there upon arrival. It took a couple of hours to get it delivered. Lastly, one day the gondola was closed due to wind conditions, and we had ski school in Northstar Village. Three staff told me there was a shuttle to take us down, but none ever came (I waited in the cold with the kids for 35 mins). I mentioned this to the front desk staff as I picked up my car to drive down and park for $25, and he just blinked at me...for a $60 per night valet fee, please get the shuttle running. It wasn't a typical 5 star hotel experience and the room itself was just...fine. Otherwise, we had a wonderful trip. 7/10 would stay again for convenience to slopes and cleanliness (but would definitely eat elsewhere).
Outstanding Guest Relations and Services! My husband and I
Outstanding Guest Relations and Services! My husband and I visited the hotel to celebrate our anniversary. Upon entering our room, we were very happily surprised by the beautiful decoration (with red rose petals), a sweets bowl, and a warm note from Shruti from Guest Relations. This is the best and most unforgettable anniversary surprise I have ever received! My trip was fantastic and my experience at the Ritz Carlton is outstanding, sweet and perfect! I definitely look forward to visiting the hotel again in the future. Thank Shruti again for making my anniversary celebration so beautiful and unforgettable! I've told my friends about this experience and they were all very impressed.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!

So glad I came across this app :)
Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res

Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??
Tune into NBC News - Top Story Tonight 7:40p ET
Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
