We had a HORRIBLE experience at The Ninth - unapologetic server and management after a mistake was made. In fact they rolled their eyes and laughed when they made mistake. Didn't apologize once, we waited at the table to see if the manager came over...nothing. My husband approached him. Still nothing - he laughed and rolled his eyes again. SHOCKED this place has a Michelin star. Does not deserve it in our opinion. The server did not speak much to us, no "are you done?", "how is it?", NOTHING! She would just grab the dishes and walk away. Never came back to table to check-in. Pros: food was good, ambience was approachable, crispy potatoes and pain Perdue were outstanding Cons: unapologetic server and management after a mistake was made; truly unacceptable at a Michelin star restaurant, lukewarm entrees Would never go back or recommend to anyone. Horrible service.

This little gem provides the perfect dinner experience in London. The plates are meant to be shared but you'll wish you didn't have to share. We tried a wide variety of items and each was beautifully prepared and delicious--with unique combos of flavor. Try the Coccoli--they are amazing, as is the Rabbit Agnolotti. Leave room for dessert--you'll thank me later. Note: they have indoor and outdoor seating, but make reservations. This restaurant has received a Michelin star. Our service was also fantastic even though they were packed
Be the first to ReplyAffordable one Michelin star experience.
The signature pain perdu was delicious, with an extremely soft and milky inside with a well caramelized sugar coating. The vanilla ice cream with crumbles was nothing special, good to pair with the hot toast though. The lamb chop was well charred and super juicy & tender. However, the sweet mint & anchovy dressing on the lamb chop was not a very good pairing with the lamb, amplifying the smell, would suggest pairing it with the broccolinis. Environment was okay with mostly open air but not air conditioning. They took quite a while to cook the lamb so I finished the dessert first.

The service was excellent and the wait staff was very helpful with selecting the right wine for our meal. The food was amazing and the small plates made for a perfect date night. To top it all off, the pain perdu was one of the best desserts I've ever had. My wife and I will certainly be coming back the next time we're in London.

French cuisine with a Mediterranean twist that earned a Michelin star. They were closed for almost a year due to a fire but reopened earlier this month. Everything was incredible. The salted beef cheek & tongue and pain perdu (dessert) were the highlight. The spaghetti was also amazing as well. Also don't sleep on the cocktails.

A relatively new (5 years) restaurant in Fitzrovia that seems to be doing very well, post-Covid. A bit small, with only two dozen seats and maybe another half-dozen at the tiny bar, but this allows the competent staff easy control of the simply decorated room.I decided on a seafood meal, selecting smoked eel and panisse (chickpea cake), flamed mackerel with kohlrabi and lemon, roast cod with artichoke and more parnisse in a "fish-and-chips" display, and finishing with cheesecake with poached rhubarb. I only think that the sommelier could had been a bit more helpful with my wine selection, instead of allowing me to select just a single bottle. I really enjoy the open kitchen concept, but the building's footprint here is far too small, all the food appears via dumbwaiter behind the bar.The enthusiastic servers, the flavors of each dish, the simple, effective plating means I'll have to return. And soon.2022 04 01. M1.

We had such an awesome time and the food was so amazing. The service was on point, they made you feel as the only one on the restaurant and everyone had a smile all the time. The combination of flavours and the attention to detail on the dishes was from another planet. They 100% deserve their Michelin star.Don't miss it!

Service was okay and the food was average for a starred restaurant. Highlights were the risotto and oxtail ravioli.

This is 3 Stars only cause I really don't think this should be a Michelin star restaurant. I think this is a good, fairly normal restaurant. Some of this may be the service was very poor. He couldn't even walk us through the menu with any intelligence or offerings on how to best order for 2 from the menu. We ended up getting the pork bites snack - meh nothing special at all, any bar can serve these. The highlight for us was actually not the truffle egg yolk pasta but the rabbit risotto but even that the rabbit was overcooked. I am not saying don't go, I just don't think it lives up to others reviews or what we were expecting.
Be the first to ReplyThe food at The Ninth was tremendous in quality.
The sea bass was very flavorful and filling. The mussels on this dish were even better! The wine selection is good and service is helpful as well. Overall- I would definitely recommend a visit when in London.
Be the first to ReplyGreat place for tasty, solidly presented food.
Gets a little loud but upstairs with A/C is well worth it.Beef cheek, roast duck, turbot, all standouts.Desserts are also excellent, from the sorbet to the pain perdu. Also a few misses, the sashimi-ish dish we had had very little flavor, and the roast potatoes were completely ordinary. They looked right but had nothing that made them delicious on the palate compared to the rest of the meal. And in the interest of full disclosure, the pain perdu was about 4/5ths amazing and 1/5th both a little burned (yuck) and just too much food (not a bad problem to have!).

The Ninth was a wonderful experience for food lovers! The staff was very knowledgeable about food and the kitchen has earned it's star! We shared Babajuans, oxtail croquettes, lovely bread and butter, a beautiful Panzanella salad, ossobuco tortellini and rabbit sweet corn and truffle risotto. I had the pain Perdu for dessert- no way was I sharing that! My husband had the white peaches and almond ice ream. Each combination was brilliant, but the texture of the sourdough and pain Perdu and the flavorful Panzanella and Babajuans were unforgettable,
Be the first to ReplyThis is one of several outstanding restaurants in London.
I started with the burrata, followed by the orecchiette with black truffle &egg yolks. For my main course I had the seabream fish - which was cooked and seasoned to perfection. However, the highlight for me was the desert. You must try the Pain Perdu and vanilla ice cream. It is carmelized on the outside and sponge cake-like on the inside. Truly unique and delicious! I was with some vegans and they had a delicious meal as well.
Be the first to ReplyThe Ninth is a great date spot in London.
It has definitely earned its 1 Michelin Star. The bread & butter and orecchiette are absolutely amazing!

We had a lovely dinner, sitting at the bar with a last-minute reservation made online.I went for a medley of small plates, which each packed a beautiful composition of flavors: The beetroot tart was scrumptious, the foie gras pasta was a nice mix of surf and turf & the oyster with horse radish was very refreshing. The Pan Perdu is like soft custard on the inside, and a crispy gooey shell on the outside, a to-die-for dessert experience, glad we listened to the staff recommendation!A perfect meal for a perfect date! We can see why this place has earned a Michelin star.
