It was really cold when we went so we ate inside but we got a seat right by the window so we got a great view. My sister got the fried squash and it was amazing, words can't explain how good they were. I got the lobster roll, it was good but $42, not sure I would pay that again. One thing to note is the menu was extremely limited. Our waitress was so nice, and when she found out we were visiting she gave us some fun suggestions.

This has to be, by far, one of my favorite brunch spots ever! A fun, upscale experience with a beautiful view and a live jazz band on a Sunday morning. We were asked to wait until our reservation time, but were seated right on time, and service was quick. I ordered the lobster hash, which had plenty of large pieces of lobster, with perfectly toasted bread to go with the poached egg and hollandaise sauce. The favorite of our party definitely was the french toast bread pudding - so sweet and absolutely yummy. We would absolutely come back! Note that parking is by valet only.

This is a great spot to go if you enjoy coastal Rhode Island. I always bring my friends here, when they visit from out of town. This is a place you can go in all seasons. In the summer, getting a drink at the outside bar and sitting in the Adirondack chairs by the water, spending time with your friends, is unmatched. However, in the winter, the bar on the porch is a great place to go to have some delicious food and drinks. The staff are always so knowledgeable and friendly. I've never had a bad experience here.
Be the first to ReplyService was very slow.
Food was very small and was not worth the price. The view was beautiful but other than that it was just awful here

The best lobster roll in Newport, albeit probably the most expensive. Really worth it.

Didn't do the lawn or dinner but had the a la carte menu from select items at the small bar area - we did come in very late thinking we would just have a drink at the bar but decided to also have a bite to eat - the service was fine and the meal was pretty good - I think I need to come in earlier and have a proper meal whether at dinner or on the lawn - the orange wine was sensational though and I would come back earlier and with a reservation-
Be the first to ReplyFood was great, view on the lawn even better.
Great place to relax with friends and have a cocktail.

I love the dinner service at Castle Hill Inn but I love the lunch service even more for the incredible value it provides. And during restaurant week that value is unbeatable. Great views, great service, great food, great desserts(free!) and afterward you can go out to the light house to take some photos that are postcard worthy. Went for lunch service on a picture-perfect day. Remember to bring some cash as its valet only. We were seated smack dab in the middle of the main dining room. Best seats in the house with panoramic views of the Narragansett Bay. Kathryn took our order, and she was very friendly and efficient. Ordered a draft beer, fish tacos, grilled cheese sandwich and got two complimentary desserts. Fish tacos were excellent. Very crispy fish and the two grilled corn on the cob was a nice touch. Grilled cheese was cooked to perfection. And my kid who normally doesn't really like cheese or sandwiches for that matter ate it and loved the clam chowder that came with it. The desserts are all homemade. The smores was excellent albeit a bit too sweet for me but what should I expect from dessert. Afterward we took a little stroll out to the lighthouse. It was an awesome lunch! We will be back! (Literally. Like Tomorrow.)
Be the first to ReplyExcellent service.
The location is beautiful. Food is delicious, generous portions, and a good selection. The price is reasonable. I will definitely go back.
Be the first to ReplyI called ahead to make sure my dog could sit at the bar
I called ahead to make sure my dog could sit at the bar with my partner and friends. I was told there is a don't ask don't tell policy and because I have a small 10lb ESA dog, it was fine. I even offered to bring paperwork. 25 minutes later we arrived from our hotel and I was immediately stopped inside by a rude hostess. She asked what my dog was trained to perform. I told her legally she's not allowed to ask me that, and she continued to ask me anyway. I explained that I called ahead to make sure it was ok and that I spoke to someone at the restaurant. She told me no ESA dogs and that if my dog wasn't a service dog trained to do something for me, I had to leave. I drove 25 minutes back to my hotel to drop my dog off and another 25 minutes back to meet my friends who ended up sitting and waiting for me at the bar. I explained to a manager when I returned that it was really inconvenient that the staff provided me the wrong information on the phone which left me driving 25 minutes (3 times) just to have a few drinks and lunch with my friends. All I got was a "I'm so sorry". Not even a comped drink off our check.
Be the first to ReplyHad a lovely lunch with friends on a day trip to Newport.
The ambiance at the inn was exactly what we wanted, the views from the restaurant were gorgeous, and the service was fantastic, our waitress was kind and patient. The food itself was very tasty, we all had some form of the lunch special, which was a generous amount of food!

We always stop here for brunch once we check out and it's amazing in good weather. The view is phenomenal. They can feed me hot dogs I would be thrilled. Food is good too. Drinks great

The Lawn at Castle Hill is a MUST during the summer in Newport. This is our go-to spot for drink before heading to dinner. Their marg is a 10/10 and the views are "okay" I guess....If you're up for an little walk, you can also check out the Castle Hill Lighthouse which is just a short walk from the lawn. Great spot for some insta photos and views of the sunset.

Absolutely a must do when visiting Newport! It doesn't get much better than sitting in a big Adirondack chair and day drinking ;)
Be the first to ReplyAmbiance is Five Star.
We wanted to just hang out and watch the boats all day. Lunch was simply delicious. Ordered the clam chowder and it was incredibly delicious. The menu was set for fall and I ordered the risotto cacio de Pepe with butternut squash. The risotto was perfectly cooked and prepared. The squash was a great addition to the dish. Most of the lunch diners ordered the lobster roll which is what they are known for. Can't wait to dine here again real soon.

What an amazing place! This was my second time coming here and it was just as good as the first time. They do have seasonal menus so I highly recommend coming back often to try their other items. We sat outside and although it was super windy this time of year, the views were excellent. We had a great server and the food was delicious. We will be back again!
Be the first to ReplyIt was really just okay.
Obviously a beautiful location, but next time we will just come for drinks on the lawn outside. For a $500 lunch it was very average. Fish tacos were good but nothing special, probably the least exciting ones of the trip. The clam chowder was the highlight of the meal for sure - definitely order that. Service was a little slow but fine as we were in no hurry and enjoying family time. The valet men stood our more than our server. The most amusing part was watching everyone freak out about the bees! We were slightly bothered as well but set up bee traps but placing our used drink glasses on the bordering wall next to us. May come back for a drink but probably not ever for a meal.
Be the first to ReplyAlways great coming back here.
This time had the lobster roll and a Paloma and both were great!
Be the first to ReplyDine here often.
The food is pretty decent even as the business continues to struggle with staffing. Really like the tandoori chicken entrée and everyone I know enjoys the fish tacos. Very generous portion. Had the steak last night. Don't bother. It was over priced at $60 for a relatively thin cut of strip steak, overcooked, served with cold french fries and a handful of undressed arugula. Totally uninspiring. Castle Hill can do better than this entrée. At $60, people have a reasonable expectation of a good meal. This just wasn't.
Be the first to ReplyAn absolute must if you find yourself in Newport.
Even if you aren't planning on sitting for a meal, enjoying the drink on the expansive lawn is well worth the visit alone. The views are divine as as are the cocktails. We sat for dinner and I'm so glad we did. The food was incredible and all portions were huge. We started off with a few small plates - corn dip, crab fritters and tomato focaccia bread. The corn dip came with the most enormous bowl of sweet cheesy corn dip. I could've made a meal out of this alone. The crab fritters were less crab heavy and were mostly filled with breading and corn. Still delicious, but it was more like a corn fritter - I would've preferred more crab. The focaccia bread came with the most delicious garlic aioli for dipping. For mains I tried the lobster roll which came with soo much buttery lobster. The roll was topped with crispy onion straws - so good. I also tried the pasta which was perfectly al dente, topped with summer veggies like squash and eggplant and had a nice amount of creamy ricotta. Service was a bit slow, but with an ambiance this nice it doesn't need to be fast. I could've sat for hours and waited, especially with a cocktail in hand. And speaking of - the blueberry lemonade was incredible!Come at sunset and make a reservation if you are planning to eat. This is an iconic Newport experience for good reason.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful restaurant in a perfect seaside location.
We enjoyed the best seat inside with a centered view of the water and lawn. The whipped feta appetizer with honey was our absolute favorite thing we ordered. The food menu was a little limited and pricey for lunch ($40 salad for lobster) but they had plenty of drinks on the menu, and the food was quality. We enjoyed another drink in an Adirondack chair on the lawn before we left for the day, would highly recommend this and byob if it's a nice enough day to stay longer and just take in the view
Be the first to ReplyWe did not get to eat at the Lawn because it closes at 3pm.
We were able to grab drinks at the Terrace Bar and sit on the Lawn on the Adirondack chairs. It was such a beautiful scene! It was breathtaking and peaceful. Loved their Blueberry Lemonade and Blood Orange Bellini...You are missing out if you don't come here for drinks!
Be the first to ReplyOur meal was excellent beginning to end.
Drinks were great. Appetizer of patatas bravas was HUGE and could feed 4! Caesar salad was excellent and huge. Grilled cheese with pesto and yellow tomato soupanother big win. Husband's lobster roll was generous in portion and quality. I wish we could have fit desert but not a chance. Our server was so sweet and attentive and honest. She (honestly) told us we were over-ordering and should split one salad and not get too, and boy was she right! The scenery was to die for and we got to spend an hour outside relaxing on the water. Great experience and I strongly recommend going there.

Thought we were going to see a lighthouse but ended up getting drinks and hors d'oeuvres. This place has fabulous views of the bay and unique foodie options. They offer valet parking and make you feel special from the moment you drive up.
