Always a nice meal.
Good ambience of a brasserie. Drinks are well made and decent wine list.
Be the first to ReplyThis was my second time I went to this ivy restaurant.
Last time my friend took me there all I remember was they were busy and you must reserve a reservation to get a table. I didn't make a reservation but I was able to get in at the counter for the second time. The restaurant was super busy. I see everybody who works there was very efficient and work hard. I also realized that the restaurants logo name is on a lot of things. This restaurant is into perfection. The restaurant name Ivy is on every prints. It was very nice. There were so many people inside of the restaurant, however I was getting served fast and great food. I ordered two course meals. They were priced very reasonable. First course I had cream of mushroom soup. Then I had Parmesan truffle fries with steak for the 2nd course. Omg!! Delicious!!! I understood why this restaurant is super busy. It is because this restaurant has a great atmosphere, great service and great food. I love watching people work there. They were working so hard to make all these customers happy. I also loved being in London this restaurant was spotless clean. This restaurant has the best homemade fries. I mean in London. A lot of people think London has bland food. It is absolutely false information. They have great restaurants. I ate all my fries , soup, and steaks. I had a great time at the Ivy restaurant.
Be the first to ReplySuggested only one of options for good food in London.
Old school with traditional gift on the table. Ordered mushroom cream linguini which was very tasty but presentation was B. Would not go wrong.
Be the first to ReplyGreat service and good food.
Pretty close tables but still comfortable. Small selection of well prepared courses. Very nice decor and atmosphere. We're coming back.
Be the first to ReplyThey put up with me.
Met a colleague, ordered drinks because we were looking for a quiet little place. His was not a quiet little place it was abuzz with patrons enjoying their day. The guy made me order food because I was drinking, so I got fries. They were good. The waiter was nice. The decor was 1928 if it was a day. I kind of loved it.
Be the first to ReplyI wanted to love this place but from the first moment it
I wanted to love this place but from the first moment it went further downhill . First it took 10 mins to get the waiter to come over to our table when we we're seated. The food was not that good, steak was chewy, the arinchini was just ok and the waiters and staff were a little un-attentive. They did give me a birthday dessert so they get points for that but overall not what I thought
Be the first to Reply4 star food, 2 star service, 3 star overall.
The food was a great price. We ordered from the set menu, which was a starter and a main for 19 pounds. This is an excellent deal for this part of town and I was so excited when I saw it online! I ordered a fresh prosciutto with toast that was excellent for my starter, and then Norwegian salmos for the main. I also had a Gin and Tonic with a Japanese gin which was excellent and effective. However, service was incredibly slow. My friend and I were both drunk from the gin and tonics mentioned above, so we didn't really care. But it took 45 minutes for my starter, just toast and fancy lunch meat! We think our waiter was a host do to his different uniform, and he forgot to put our order in. Waiting an hour is unacceptable, but the booze was strong, so still a decent night!
Be the first to ReplyThis was our best meal in London! Really tasty.
I had the caprese and chicken milanese. The service was eh since we had to keep flagging down people to get us anything. My personal problem was how fricking hot it was, but I know that's a me being a fat American problem and not the restaurant but God did it distract me. The chicken was so tender and tasty it was so welcome after a week of pretty icky meals.
Be the first to ReplyIt was our last morning in London and we wanted to end our
It was our last morning in London and we wanted to end our trip with a full English breakfast. We did what most people would do and went to look up our local option online. We found the Ivy Kensington Brasserie as a suggestion for just this kind of meal. We arrived and at first glance it appeared we made a wonderful choice. The interior of this restaurant is just beautiful and the staff was professional. That is where the positive ends and the food service begins. My son and I got the Full English that was supposedly touted as a fine example of that particular dish and my wife got an omelet. Neither of these items were inexpensive so again our expectations were high from the beauty of the restaurant, the reviews online, expense of the items, and service... Those expectations would soon be crushed when we received the food. The full English was a collection of what looked to be frozen \ packaged breakfast items. The first hint something was off was the bacon. Instead of the English bacon there was America bacon that was basically of the quality you would get on sale at Walmart. I mean it was bacon so it was not terrible but it was not worthy of such a pretty and expensive place. The potatoes were an odd tater tot kind of thing that must have come from a bag. The beans were fresh out of the can and the sausage was something you would get at a Denny's anywhere in the US. Mind you we had good English sausage and bacon on our trip so we knew what to expect and this was not it. The eggs were OK but even then the yolks were overdone. In short you would be better any day of the week with a grand slam at Denny's over the full English at the Ivy Kensington Brasserie. I really do mean that sincerely, Denny's has better breakfast. My wife's omelet was overcooked, poorly prepared, and poorly presented. The wait staff was French so I suppose they know what an omelet should look and task like so perhaps more Frenchmen or women should be hired to work the line in the back. Our bill came out to around 60 pounds including the two coffees we got with our meal. I only gave two stars instead of one because the place was spotless, pretty and the service was competent.

I used to come here for work usually once or twice a year and enjoyed it, but have not since the pandemic. When I went twice this week it has fallen so downhill it's terrible. Sat down at 8 and nobody helped us until 9pm. Our server was incredibly rude and she took our drinks and food order and left. A red flag was that we ordered burgers but they didn't ask for the cooking temperature. The food arrived very quickly and was awful - burger was overdone, old, and dry. Tasted like it has been made days ago and just reheated. Our drinks literally never came. We kept trying to flag someone but they ignored us. Finally managed to get someone who rudely brought over a check. Left at 11. Avoid at all costs
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful space, really gorgeous design.
Warm, friendly staff. Food was amazing and reasonably priced. Loved it here!
Be the first to ReplyWe had an amazing dinner.
Started with the Stilton & walnut soufflรฉ and salted sourdough. I had the roasted chicken & he had fish & chips. We really enjoyed everything - including the signature cocktails.
Be the first to ReplyThis place has beautiful atmosphere with roaring 20's
This place has beautiful atmosphere with roaring 20's accents. The ambiance is exceptional but the service was not so much. I was seated with a table of 3 and we proceeded to sit down at our table. The hostess was rude first attempt about the reservation status so make sure you plan accordingly before approaching this restraunt. Our cocktails and water took precisely 13 min to come out and we did not recieve any of our food in the 25 min window that we ordered. We got the 8 oz sirloin (medium rare) ,the sole, crispy duck salad, and the linguine with mushroom and truffle cream sauce. The sirloin was over cooked and took approximately 23 min to come out. The sole was heavy on the bones ( dangerously thick bones); which we were not warned about prior to ordering. The linguine was oil heavy and contained no cream whatsoever. I am a chef at hotel bel air and I have a deep love for food and the overall experience brought me to tears. I am deeply discouraged by the overall quality of this restraunt and the waiter proceeded to argue with me about the sole. If you have a pallet for good quality fine dining food this is definitely not the establishment.
Be the first to ReplyThe beef tartare was yummy.
This place was packed when I came but I got a table for one right away. The service was fast and the waiter was nice.
Be the first to ReplyWhat a cute restaurant on Kensington's High Street.
I came in about 7:30 on Friday night and was able to get a seat at the bar right away.I started with the Rhubarb & Raspberry G&T which was refreshing and the only negative was the soggy paper straw. I know they're good for the environment but they still drive me nuts. For dinner I had the Mushroom and Truffle Linguine. It was creamy but not heavy. There are a few items on the menu I'd definitely go back to check out!I finished dinner with the Salted Caramel Espresso Martini which was delicious. I expected it to be overly sweet but the caramel didn't overpower the espresso at all.If you're with a group or want a table I would recommend a reservation!
Be the first to ReplyUnfortunately, we had underwhelming service and food.
Heard a lot about this restaurant from referrals and couldn't wait to go. They require a credit card deposit to hold your spot it is that popular (all locations). So I was disappointed that there was a 30 min gap before anyone talked to us after we sat down. The asparagus salad was recommended by the waiter and it was too spicy to actually eat, with warm olives and couscous. I wanted to like it so bad but I couldn't finish it, it's a miss for me. My counterparts had soup and had ordered a side that never came. The soup was underwhelming and since the side never turned up can't speak to much more. The vibe is cool but felt like we could've walked into any random pub and found better food and service. The waiters seemed upset when we didn't order cocktails. I hate to rip on places but also think it would've been good to know it's a mixed bag on experience so I'm writing this bc it's a pricey place for such poor service. My guess is they are short staffed but the attitudes were not apologetic it was entitled. Weird. We still tipped but I personally would not go again.

Since we're here for work work, my colleague wanted to meet up for dinner. Asked me if I had any prospective spots to eat at. So I ran the handy dandy Yelp app and saw this restaurant. Someone has mentioned the spot to me before, said they had a great experience there. So here we are, let's get to it shall we.Fried Zucchini: It's pretty good. Lightly battered and perfectly crispy. Such a delight in my mouth.Steak Tartare: Although a little under seasoned, I still enjoyed it. Eat it with the toast because that's how it's done.Shepherds Pie: I chose this comfort dish as my main event because I do make this myself. Every chef/cook makes this differently. The one served here is pretty good. The use of fresh rosemary is delish. The atmosphere is really quite nice. The service was also pretty good. From start to finish was a great experience. I would definitely eat here again if given the chance.ยกMuchos gracias y hasta pronto!Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this helps with your decision making experience. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day!!

Be the first to ReplyWe visited the Ivy Kensington for an impromptu dinner after
We visited the Ivy Kensington for an impromptu dinner after a day at Wimbledon. We had the Ivy restaurants on our London lists from their picturesque decor and settings, and impressive food and drink menus. While our food was tasty enough, I found the Ivy to be my least favorite meal of the trip due to poor service. We were immediately seated and after a bit of a wait, had our drink orders taken. Due to the heatwave, we were particularly parched, and unfortunately had to ask for water multiple times before it was finally brought to our table. Our food on the other hand was brought out quickly. We started with the sourdough which was warm and delicious with salted butter. For our entrees, we had the cod and sole, which was tasty but nothing unexpected. The highlight of our meal was the Centre Court special dessert, which included white chocolate, shortbread, strawberries, meringue, cool ice cream and a warm strawberry drizzle! Overall, it was a fine meal but the inattentive service left more to be desired.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing! Go for breakfast so practical, healthy and tasty.
We enjoyed tea, eggs Benedict and , parfait
Be the first to ReplyGood food but not so good service.
Came on a Sunday morning at 9 am for breakfast and although the place was only half full it took them more than 30 mins to serve us our drinks and take our orders. This continued during our entire visit, we had to ask them twice for another drink and it took them ages to come with our check. This is really unfortunate as it is a good location, right near the tube exit at Kensington High Street. In addition the ambiance is quite nice and most importantly, the food is good. I had the eggs royale and my friend had the full English, both were tasty.Maybe they had a bad day, if I am around I might give them another go but if the service is the same I would say it is a no-go for me.

Spectacular service, wonderful ambiance and stellar food! I had the sea bass and got so into it I neglected a photo. It was worth going just on its own - perfectly cooked, on a bed of spinach and other veggies, a light oil... insanely good

Be the first to ReplyThe Ivy is a neighborhood brasserie located in Kensington
The Ivy is a neighborhood brasserie located in Kensington that is both sophisticated yet relaxing. The restaurant offers an all-day menu including breakfast and afternoon tea. I have been by this restaurant hundreds of times and I regret not stopping in sooner. The entry is always beautifully decorated. It was the perfect spot for lunch on a cold, dreary London summer day and in the evening after Wimbledon. The food was fresh, delicious, and nourishing. The service was very friendly and kind. I loved the decor. It is a perfect spot for lunch or tea with gal pals, business lunch, a date, or a special occasion. However, watch your wallets, purses, and cell phones. The hostess and managers allow people to roam the restaurant. My friend's cell phone was stolen off the table by a well-dressed female who placed a Sudoko puzzle on top of her phone and created a disturbance. When my friend yelled, "Get the woman away from the table" the woman grabbed the piece of paper and phone. No employees where interested in assisting us (there where six of us at the table!) ย We called the police and waited for them to arrive without the restaurant's assistance. The London police already had the CCV link of the incident. Sadly, I don't think anyone in my group will most likely never go back to the Ivy. theivykensingtonbrasseriโฆ
Be the first to ReplyDropped in unintentionally and tried the garden section.
The experience was impressive as we got a warm welcome amidst the cold and windy weather. Though I ordered a 2 course lunch, the food quality was fantastic. My wife ordered a normal fish and chips and turned out to be on of the best she has ever tasted. Awesome..... We'll be back for something else later.
