We came into the restaurant for a lunch to celebrate my mum and dad's birthday. We were served by Laxinia who was so lovely and helpful throughout the whole lunch. She provided lovely insight into the drinks and food which would suit and to our surprise when we ordered our teas/coffee she brought out some lovely cakes with candles for a Happy Birthday song! It really was very special, the ambiance of the restaurant was truly beautiful and a great experience from start to finish...definately visit again!!
Be the first to ReplyI had breakfast at Ivy chelsea.
Ambience is a state of art and breaths taking if you are looking for a classical style with a strong garden flavor. Staff are well dressed and professional. I had pancake and scrambled egg with salmon. Both dishes are extraordinary. Coffee was superb!!

Loved the ambiance and atmosphere in here but everything else was lacking . The service wasn't great and it took awhile to put in our order. Along with this, the food was decent but definitely overpriced
Be the first to ReplyObviously this has to get a five star review.
The Ivy is one of the most sought after high end restaurant chain in the British Isles. For starters, SALTED SOURDOUGH. This has to be the best sourdough I have ever consumed in my 15 years of sour dough loving life. I enjoyed the loaf so much I tried to get the recipe for my self but you just can't replicate it! Or maybe that's my baking skills at play.

Came in for a solo lunch when I was walking around the neighborhood. I didn't have a reservation, but they were able to get me seated right away even though it was really busy inside. The decor is gorgeous inside and the cute little table I was seated at had a view of everything. My server was quick and efficient bringing water, taking my order and dropping my food. The fish and chips was excellent! The batter had so much flavor and the fish was cooked perfectly. My drink came with a cotton candy cloud on top and little jelly balls in it and was really good even with it being on the sweeter side. Overall it was a really pleasant lunch experience! Excited to try some of the other locations next trip.

Love the beautiful ambience, food, and service here! Online reservations is super helpful. Will definitely be back on my next trip! Enjoyed the tea service and English breakfast. Their bathrooms are also BEAUTIFUL!

If you happen to be in Chelsea on a sunny afternoon, I recommend you drop in for high tea. Excellent service and fascinating creations make for a special occasion. Specialties include a chocolate mousse cake that looks like a potted plant and a mango smoothie. The house afternoon tea blend was fabulous. The outdoor garden provides a beautiful and quiet setting to enjoy your tea, crumpets, and finger sandwiches.

The ambiance is wonderful and the wait service was spectacular. TheCream Tea is a fabulous deal if you just want a quick tea. You get tea and scones only. Perfect if you have been eating too much during your travels. I made a reservation for one in the garden and I was told they were not seating the garden due to the weather, however they sat numerous groups in the garden immediately after I was sat, that was very disappointing since I had a reservation. I believe it was because I was by myself, who knows. I just know it felt rude.
Be the first to ReplyThis was a very nice place for brunch/breakfast.
The decor is just fantastic, and you feel like you're stepping back in time. The food is just okay. It's solidly good - nothing too exciting. Service was friendly and prompt. So we enjoyed ourselves, but we weren't blown away and for the prices....well....you kind of want to be blown away.

The order was late for 1:15 hour Food quality was good but the service is bad. No one toke the chance to correct their mistake and lateness.

Sorry but this has to be another 5*Fresh from Mother Goose (see review Duke of York theatre), we were in a buoyant mood. Once I had found the tickets several weeks earlier, we had looked at where to eat on New Year's Eve...we are old hands at the Ivy Collection...this seemed perfect - not too far from the hotel (The Hoxton, Shepherd's Bush - see review), music and band, a good price for the set menu...ok let's do it...and amazingly they had roomWe arrived at 9 as planned, coats taken and apologies that our table was still occupied...please have a free glass of champagne at the bar - no need to say that twice! At 9:20, they returned to say, we are clearing up the table now, please have another free glass of champagne at the bar. Within minutes we were being led to the table, glass in hand..and......for openers, you get...a free glass of champagne...well that was a good start! The 3 course meal was excellent - easy choices at £75 a throw, our 2 waiters super but not invasive, noise level acceptable, the music discreet and the 3 piece walking band fun...we added a Malbec (yummy) and double espressos...oh and, forgotten why, but we ended up with another glass of champagne - oh yes midnight!Including the set tip, that was £222We poured ourselves out into the cold at1:20 to get the tube. What a great evening! If we are in the UK this year end, this could well be a place to return to (failing which, it will be the River Cafe boat in Paris again...but that is 50%+ and more, but it is a 7 course meal, your own waiter, and a DJ with dancing; leave at 3; difficult decision)So far so good, back to the hotel...there's a taxi - brilliant...it was freezing(Pictures when sorted - to follow)

This would not be a place at the top of my list to recommend to people in London. It was overly crowded inside, and at one point a person in my party was served a warm beer. When he explained that the beer was warm to our waiter, we basically lost the right to good service for the rest of the evening. The food was OK but not something I will dream of.

Beautiful place, some of the best gin and tonics I've ever had and the chicken rostisserie was delicious.
Be the first to ReplyI love this restaurant.
I go here every year for my birthday because the people are lovely, service is excellent, the food is delicious, drinks are tasty, and we always have a wonderful time.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is everything! Gorgeous inside and out.
The beautiful people watching. We sat for hours enjoying the back patio and sipping champagne, watching people come and go... The food is delicious. Tomato soup was perfect! We had the endive chicken salad and the blackened cod with foam. You must make a Rez, or it's a no go....The music inside felt incredible, a bit like a club scene, but not as loud. We can not wait to return to this ... Xanadu of a place~
Be the first to ReplyGreat place for afternoon tea or lunch.
They're busy at anytime during the day so you'd better off making a reservation specifically if you want to sit in their lovely garden. We tried the afternoon tea combination and the scones were phenomenal
Be the first to ReplyGorgeous restaurant and outdoor dining area.
Fun cocktails such as Gins & Roses and French Garden 75. Our waiter did not pay attention to detailed requests on two orders. Delicious food such as Shepard Pie and the halibut but portions are small. Nice wine list but the waiter knew very little about the wines. This is the perfect place for drinks or dinner after Chelsea Flower Show. When booking reservations be clear when booking for The Ivy or The Ivy Asia which is next door.
Be the first to ReplyThe place was nice with a good atmosphere.
Went here with some friends and everyone enjoyed their food.

The atmosphere and decor of the Ivy was warm, but the service and food were just okay. We came without a reservation at 5:30 pm and were seated outdoors in the back of the restaurant. It was full of plants and well decorated like a garden, with blankets for customers to wrap themselves in in case the heaters weren't enough. We ordered the truffle arancini and scallops as starters and fish and chips and shepherds pie as mains. Everything tasted fine, until I took my first bite of my fish and chips and encountered four bones. I casually hinted to the server that there had been bones in my fish, to which he shrugged off. I wish he would've at least acknowledged and apologized for the error! I didn't end up finishing the fish and chips and this experience has tainted my view of the restaurant and chain :(
Be the first to ReplyPersonally, I prefer The Ivy Asia next door, simply because
Personally, I prefer The Ivy Asia next door, simply because it's way more extravagant than this old classic. That's not for this place's lack of panache, though. It is very fancy here, and you are encouraged to wear something nice to fit the local environment. Trainers and jeans are okay, of course. The ample dining rooms definitely live up to the name of the restaurant- everything is practically covered in plants, flowers, and fountains... well, one fountain. It looks like the tamest jungle you've ever seen. The service is top-notch and, though the inside is a bit on the louder side, it still provides all the comfort you need for your fancy real. If you can, reserve a seat in their patio; it's quieter and adds a bit more zen to your experience.Whilst The Ivy Asia next door specializes in the Eastern side of the foodie world, this place is more focused on the Western side of the globe; particularly Mediterranean cuisine with some Latin classics thrown in for good measure. If you love seafood, this is your place. The booze also abounds here, and you will not be wanting for cocktails and wine. They have a full roster of classics like Espresso Martinis, Negronis, and Kir Royales with a modern twist, including more versions of G&T's than you could drink in a week. The food menu is very well organized, and tends to be difficult to choose from, given its plethora of unique twists on old favorites. So, either bring friends who let you eat off their plate, or bring your big boy/ girl appetite. I settled for the Peruvian Chicken with Peruvian spices, avocado salad, and a not-too-spicy jalapeño sauce, for just under £17. I would say that, while good, it was not quite worth the price, neither in quantity nor flavor. For dessert, I chose the Rum Baba, which is essentially a moderately-sized puff pastry stuffed with chantilly, (whipped cream), a side of strong rum, and topped with fresh raspberries. Not the best dessert I've had, but for the price and the ambiance, it would just have to do. Overall, if you want a slightly quieter and more toned-down version of the extravagance next door, this place might have what you're looking for, and it's definitely a place worth checking out once. When it comes to fancy experiences, though, I do like to go all out. And in terms of flavor, pizazz, and ambiance, I definitely prefer a little more than this place has to offer. Given how packed it was, though, I may be the only one who feels that way.
Be the first to ReplyI have been to the Ivy Chelsea Garden twice and I must say
I have been to the Ivy Chelsea Garden twice and I must say the last timeI was there (Nov 29th) I was underwhelmed by the service and that is why the 2 stars. The food was OK, not brilliant.Firstly, we made a reservation for 12:15 and were not seated until 12:45 for no apparent reason as there were plenty of empty seats. The hostess was quite rude when we asked her why are we waiting. She said, "just wait" with no explanation or apology. Had to get the bartender to go back to speak to her to finally get seated. When we were finally seated, they seated us in this back room with absolutely no ambience (felt like this is where they seated the "naughty" children). We then asked to be seated in the main dining room where there was more of a buzz and our request was obliged. Secondly, when we were finally seated there was no waiter in sight to take our order and had to wait an additional 20 minutes. The food was fine but nothing to write home about. The Ivy is wildly popular but will not remain so if they do not get their service game up.
Be the first to ReplySuch a cute place! The service was great.
Their menu had such a great variety of options. I ended up getting the special which was a grilled lobster and fries. Their fries are thick cut and delicious and the lobster was grilled to perfection and had an amazing garlic butter on the side. This was a great end to a vacation.
Be the first to ReplyIvy is making a presence in key London neighborhoods.
On a recent visit, I got to dine at a few by chance. Did not know of this location and came across while visiting my son in his dorm and looking for a special place close by to dine at. He brought up The Ivy as a spot to try, didn't want to tell him I had been at two already this week. We were seated promptly and decided on our food selection. Started with duck pate which was just delicious, a must try if you can share as it is too large for one person. I opted for the afternoon tea and my son had the bread pork chop. The afternoon tea was presented with creativity and great options. Savory and sweet items were all prepared nicely and super tasty. The pork entree was amazing and the mashed potatoes were soft and melting in the mouth. The restaurant was full even at lunchtime and the staff was very attentive to all clientele. I have not had a bad experience at any of The Ivy locations. Will try them all at some point...

Beautiful restaurant! We went for lunch, a great meal after an 8 hr flight. We shared a few dishes and had very delicious cocktails (espresso martini for jetlag). The meal itself was not too heavy and the portions were perfect. Our waiter had great recommendations and overall good service.
Be the first to ReplyI really wanted to like this spot but it fell flat in
I really wanted to like this spot but it fell flat in multiple ways. I don't think our server smiled once through the entire course of our meal and it was definitely noticed by our party. The food was really just ok. If avocados came in cans, it would like like the ones they serve here - lifeless, a weird green color and 100% mush to the touch. I ordered an avocado and pomegranate cocktail but it really should be named red pepper and lettuce cocktail because there was so little of the avocado and pomegranate. The name makes no sense. They also dish out plastic straws like it's nobody's business - come on, we're over that now, change to paper or at least ask if the guest actually needs a straw. Portions for the main course were generous I'll give them that and the decor is lovely. Not enough to get me to come back however.
