A great end to a fantastic week in the Hamptons
The best breakfast before leaving the Hamptons! It was our last stop before getting the train but the breakfast and service were amazing!
Be the first to ReplyGreat location in the heart of the Village...but.. overpriced and not clean
The Golden Pear locations throughout the Hamptons ,you can always count on them for fresh coffee and excellent breakfast and lunch. We h ave been to this location a dozen times over the years, and IMO, it has slowly deteriorated to the point I'm not sure we will go. This location in the heart of Southampton's Village is in a great spot right on the corner and close to everything, but it is just that ok... sure, the coffee is always good and the selection of pastries and hot items usually is pretty solid. In 2023 we have been a few times on a Saturday morning, to find ants all over the tables by the windows. After dropping $50 + for coffee, a few hot items and juice for my wife and I, it was pretty disgusting. So, a good location, if you are in a pinch and need something quickly it can be an option especially with young kids as they've got lots of grab and go options. However, I would not recommend making it a priority to visit.
Be the first to ReplyNice homely coffe shop
Nice friendly cafe serving all the usual and lunch. It’s a little more expensive than other comparable places but this is the “Hamptons”. Good choice of coffees and cakes and quick friendly service and easy parking outside.
Be the first to ReplyOverrated and not nice place
Expensive for what you get . They serve everything on paper dishes and give you plastic cutlery. It’s not a restaurant, it’s just a take away place . The place is not nice to sit in. Tables so small and crowded . Food is blend and overpriced
Be the first to ReplyDecent food, long wait time
Had lunch at this place and it was a bad experience. The place is wildly disorganized with no clear location to put in your order. Had to wait 30 plus minutes for sandwiches. The prices are outrageous: $20+ per sandwich. Once served, the food was solid, but not worth the wait. I suggest calling in your order and then picking it up.
Be the first to ReplyStupid expensive
Food is good, not great but I challenge you to find a place that charges more for pretty basic stuff.
Be the first to ReplyGood, strong coffee...pricey everything else!
It was delightful to have a strong cup of coffee while sitting outside, people watching and enjoying the day. The coffee was fresh, the service was kind, and the place was very clean and bright. I was thankful that I was not hungry. I peeked at the food options, though they looked delicious and fresh, they were way overpriced. The starting price for sandwiches was $18.00. Perhaps this is the norm in Southampton, but it's not the norm for me. I'd go again for a coffee without hesitation!
Be the first to ReplyPricey and overrated
Visited the cafe for breakfast. Large choice of sandwiches and viennoiseries... but poor quality, tasteless wrap.
And ridiculous price for pressed orange juice !!!
Great Hazelnut Coffee
Great coffee, always fresh and hot, and especially the hazelnut! Always a favor of the day as well
Fresh
During the entire day ..
food is fine, but a bit pricey..
Bakery goods are fine
Good for a casual stop
Breakfast Meeting
Stopped in for a quick breakfast with local friends. Overall a good experience, but a bit pricey for breakfast sandwiches.
Be the first to ReplyBest of the Best, Fresh of the Freshest
The coffee, (Main Beach) oh....yum! The food, muffins, salads, wraps, you name it, it's fresh and oh so good. Worth every penny!
Be the first to ReplyQuick and easy - and good!
Golden Pear has branches in every one of the Hamptons. You can always count on them for fresh coffee and excellent breakfast and lunch. They are open from morning till night. I always do take out as their dining space is limited. very ecology/environment friendly.
Be the first to ReplyPart of a chain. Decent but nothing special
The Golden Pear Cafe is part of a chain with outlets in the Hamptons. It is well established, quite reasonable but don't expect anything special.
Be the first to ReplyTrendy, Cramped and Yummy
Have taken many very delicious meals from Golden Pear, especially fond of their turkey chili. The indoor seating is always cramped and often no seating available due to too many who seek to relax and take their time reading and chatting. Excellent staff and fair prices. Rather large selection of appetizing offerings including vegan options. The best seats are those outdoors, but right next to the outdoor tables may be found unattractive overflowing village garbage cans, which really should be emptied regularly by Golden Pair staff and not just left to the village cleanup crews, given the huge contribution of refuse generated by Golden Pear patrons into these trash bins. A real positive of Golden Pear is that pets are welcome at the outdoor tables!
Be the first to ReplyBest spot on the east end for lunch - coffee - et al
I forget how good this place is for lunch or just a quick cup of coffee. Well this part weekend they raised the bar by now offering Wandering Bear Cold Brew on Tap. What a great addition to their superior selection of beverages (best coffee in he Hampton).
So I wrote a note to the owner in praise of his addition but held him to task about plastic used in his establishment. Guess what, they are so far ahead of the curve in that respect it bears mentioning:
The “Plastic Cups” are NOT plastic…. They’re made from corn and 100% biodegradable, and so are the straws… very kind to the environment.. been using them for many years.. plates are sugar and bamboo based and cutlery is all corn and sugar based
How about that! Great food & positive environmental concern all in one place.
So, Start in Sag, drive down to East Hampton, come back through Bridgehampton & you will have hit them all by the time you get back to Golden Pear in SH. Enjoy!
Belgium Waffles to die for
