Tasty meal.
We visited the Duck and Rice with our two small dogs. The restaurant welcome dogs downstairs. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and the atmosphere great. We really enjoyed our meal. We will definitely come back with the family.
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced, much better chinese places available in the area
we vooked a place for an a birthday celebration. Luckily we were seated in a booth, as other chairs didn't have backs. But even in the booth, the seating was high, and very uncomfortable. Not a great start. When we saw the prices my eyes watered, after all it's a chinese, not a 2 micheline star restaurant. The G&T and the coctailes were nice. But not more than that. I was expecting great food. It was ok. Some of it, some was really poor. The chicken gyoza was lovely, and the aubergine dish was flavoursome. But the chinese broccoli was absolutely tasteless, and the mock chicken had a terrible after taste. The roast duck rolls were so dry, we could not swallow it. The sauces tatsted as if they came from the nearest supermarket. The only positive comment I can make was the staff - they were very friendly and accommodating. That's the only reason I gave it a rating of 2, otherwise it would have been a 1. Neber to return.

Went with a group of friends and ordered a wide range of dishes to cater for vegetarians and meat eaters. The food came out promptly and was absolutely delicious . Would recommend the crab meat clay pot which was outstanding. Bill was very reasonable . Would highly recommend if a Chinese is what you are after
Be the first to ReplyFantastic meal and buzzing atmosphere
What can I say but fantastic food great atmosphere and friendly staff. I canโt fault the Duck and Rice. If you want something different other than a Chinese restaurant this is the place for you, itโs buzzing. The food was so tasty the flavours burst in your mouth, the best Chinese Iโve had.
Be the first to ReplyLow quality takeout would be an improvement over another meal here!
Service was extremely poor; the main server was dismissive and rude and forgot to put in half our dishes, which in retrospect we wish we hadnโt corrected him as the food was almost all very disappointing (the roast duck being the one exception and the fried noodles being serviceable) and rushed. I agree with the other reviews that say the chili prawns are bad; bad is an understatement. Bland rubbery little prawns in a tasteless pool of low-quality hot and sour soup. Overall a real disappointment.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, great taste and Czech beer
We were so lucky to get a table there. It was 8 of us and we get table just for 1 hour. It was great as our food was prioritized . We had duck, chicken, seafood and many other great ad tasteful food. I especially can suggest Cantonese duck . Staff very helpful as the system for order was kind of new to us.
Be the first to ReplyVERY POOR
Great expectation, very poor delivery. Rushed from start to finish. In and out in 1 hourโฆโฆReally ??? Starters ok, but barely warm. Chilli King Prawns as a main course were on par with a bad Takeawayโฆโฆ Love to get feedback from the management ?
Be the first to ReplyTasty food, nice buzz
Quick service despite a buzzing, full restaurant, tasty food and a nice wine list. Definitely worth a visit
Be the first to ReplyCelebration meal to remember
Great food and reasonably priced drinks, though service was a little slow to start, and they were a full house, the staff were warm and friendly. Highlights included the prawn toast, the venison puffs and the duck, which we had half of. For 3, night have been excessive.! The tenderloin beef was also excellent. Having noted it was friends big birthday, staff brought out a candled birthday dessert. Ordered an excellent Picpoul too. Highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyGood quality food and busy
I can't fault it other than the loos being a long way down the stairs from the restaurant! Not great if you struggle with stairs. However, the food was excellent and the service was adequate given how busy it was.
Be the first to ReplySave your money, go to China Town or the local take away!
Atrocious service, average food. Save your money and go to China Town.. We visited this restaurant for dinner on a Thursday evening. Food came out in dribs and drabs, starting with the rice... I am a vegetarian and my main never came. So after over 90 min in the restaurant waiting we got the bill and I had just enjoyed some very over priced rice. We also ordered drinks that never came.
The food the rest of the table had was on but nothing special. Very disappointed as I've been trying to book a table here for ages and had had tonights booking made for over 3 weeks.
The only positive I have is that they are very dog friendly! So thanks!
Great experience for vegetarians
We are vegetarian and brought our two children (10 and 6). One of the children has a sesame allergy. They were able to cater for the allergy easily and we all loved the food. We had the black pepper vegetarian chicken, sweet and sour mock duck, yasai yaki soba and spring rolls. They were also willing to change recipes to vegetarian versions (e.g. special fried rice). Overall a great experience for the whole family.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing food!
Visited this restaurant before the theatre, we did a few small plates to share and a big Katsu curry.
The food here was incredible every dish bar one was a 10/10 and even that one was really nice. I would definitely recommend the gyozas and the Katsu was delicious!
We ordered cocktails too the bee colada and the melon gem and both were really nice!
The only thing I would say is the check in/seating process was a little bit chaotic but that was soon forgotten when the food started rolling out!
Really conveniently situated to Royal theatre we would definitely consider coming back really beautifully decorated and staff were attentive.
Lovely building
Beer is amazing and the fresh tastes amazing. Lovely to see the mini micro brewery.
The food not so, deep fried chicken wings were so tiny and nothing in it. Special friend rice hardly anthing in it.
Lovely building and beautiful decor will go again as the beer is very nice
Highly recommend!
The atmosphere is very nice, but was a little dark in places!
We had a range of different dishes, however the calamari and duck and rice was unreal. The star of the show was actually the spring onions in the calamari, salty spring onions bang and I could have ate a bowl of them alone!
Will be returning even though its a bit pricey!
Went twice in a week
Good choice of vegetarian food. I went with friends and as a family (with kids). Staff were very accommodating and went out of their way to make sure we were looked after. I look forward to visiting soon again
Be the first to ReplyBring your phone torch
This is a great alternative to the standard Chinese fare in Soho. A buzzy vibe and lots of great food to choose from. Beware the ignitingโฆgreat for the mood and general ambience, but if like me you need to be able to read the menu with glasses at close range,be sure to have your phone torch to hand! Food is all great and sharing is probably a must to experience the flavours on offer. Not entirely sure whether everything is quite as seamless behind the scenes as it should be but letโs put that down to post lockdown experiences generally. Will be back.
Be the first to ReplyV good
He dinner here for my birthday and loved it. The place is buzzing, the staff are friendly and the food is delicious. Duck spring rolls unbelievably good.
Be the first to ReplyHave to try it to believe!
Booked The duck + rice as a "safe bet" for a group of somewhat fussy dinners, after all who doesn't like Chinese food? I am glad to say that our experience was out of this world, from the moment we arrived everyone was welcoming and genuinely seemed to not be able to do enough for us. The food was phenomenal, seriously I've rarely eaten food so full of flavour, passion and love. We were even lucky enough to be visited by a majestic dragon!
