Spectacular food and service with unparalleled views. The 25 years anniversary menu was sublime and the wine pairing was spot on. Service is very professional, yet friendly. Highly recommend!
A gastronomic experience
I was invited by a close friend to visit De Mondion Restaurant in the old City of Mdina, situated on the top floor of the iconic Xara Palace Hotel. This is truly wonderful location, the building is full of antiques and beautiful paintings. In summer months the restaurant is open on the roof terrace, very nice setting and ambience with wonderful views all over Malta, watching the fireworks in the distance. Service is impeccable with a very delicate touch, we were afforded a very nice table, although full to capacity it did not have a large number of guests, which made it more special. The menu is very special indeed, a gastronomic experience, the portions are quite small but everything cooked and served to perfection. Excellent quality wines and a nice glass of vintage port with cheese and biscuits to finish. A lovely evening and such excellent quality foods.
Best dinner in Malta- 5 stars!!!
We spent 9 nights in Malta and this was our favorite meal. Impeccable service, Beautful views- incredible tasting menu- every course was a delight and highly recommend.
An excellent meal in a lovely setting with great service
We had an excellent meal here with local friends at their suggestion. The terrace has a lovely view over to Valetta. We had the tasting menu and the flight of maltese wines. The food was beautifully cooked and presented. The wines an interesting new experience for us. The atmosphere was both professional and friendly- excellent staff and knowledgeable sommelier. The portions were suitably delicate and the charming service well paced - we were there for about three hours. If I had to pick one tiny hole I would say that substituting snails for the advertised menu octopus (as they did the night we were there) might not suit all guests as snails can be not to the taste of all . Having said that although we don't like them, our guests do ! I would not hesitate to come again if in Malta and heartily commend the restaurant. Thanks again
Exquisite Dining
De Mondion deserves its Michelin star. The food is delicious, a real treat, and the presentation exquisite. The view from the top floor is wonderful. The staff is friendly, professional, and attentive. I can't give this restaurant enough raves. Don't miss this restaurant when you are in Malta.
An amazing culinary experience
Went to de Mondion for my fiance's birthday in May 2024. This was honestly one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. The food was incredible we both had the tasting menu paired with the local wines and everything was superb. Highlights had to be the suckling pig which was cooked to perfection and the most tender local octopus I've ever had. The service was also top notch; very friendly and knowledgeable. Every dish and its paired glass of wine came with a small introduction into the journey our taste buds were about to go on. It's not a cheap dinner by any means but the value is there not just in the superbly prepared food that comes with a small tale; but also the finely tuned machine that runs the service and the nice views and ambience that you'll find yourself in.

I had requested a table with a beautiful view for my wife's birthday. In addition to a beautiful table with a view, we received courteous service from a young, extremely friendly service team. The team was aware that it was my wife's birthday. Thanks for this. This gets lost in many other restaurants and we forget. Now about the food. It was the finest with lots of different flavors. I was skeptical but we were thrilled with the food as well as the ambience with great service. We can highly recommend the restaurant. A successful evening. Thank you very much.
A Wonderful experience at De Mondion
We went to celebrate our anniversary yesterday and it was such a professional and great experience. The food was exquisite, the staff had excellent customer experience and honestly i was blown away at how everything was so perfect! The surprise was super sweet and unexpected! De mondion definately exceeded my expectations. Well done to clint, jaelle, matthieu and all the staff just to name a few!
Maltese old world meets global cuisine
A fantastic dining experience. The food was second to none. We liked the locally sourced produce which helped add to the Maltese vibe with each of the dishes. The skills of the chefs made it a truly global standard dining experience and we’d highly recommend adding this restaurant to your list of favourites. The Michelin star is well deserved and the location in the ancient city of Mdina gave an atmosphere that helped increase the feeling of experiencing something truly special. Add to that a great and knowledgeable staff and you have a winning combination.

Excellent restaurant! We usually experience snobby staff in Michelin Star restaurants. Not this one, period; they are super friendly. I chose a wrong date while booking through online, and I didn't realize it until the booking date/time had passed. I called them to reschedule the booking, and they took care of it within a few minutes. You will be paying either full or nearly full price if you make this type of mistake in the US. None here. Kudos to the owner and staff for above and beyond customer service. The food was amazing, with locally sourced items. We believe the portion was more than perfect. The owner as well as the chef, stopped by each table and chatted with his customers. What a service! This restaurant deserved one or two more stars from Michelin. It is highly recommended and a must-go place if you are in Malta.

Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!

I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.

It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
