Tom, the manager, is extremely disrespectful and should not be in the hospitality business!!!
I have not written a bad review for anything, ever. However, I also have never been treated so disrespectfully. I went to The Crows Nest with 3 friends (we are all in our late 50โs) for some wine and appetizers. We were promptly seated and gave our waitress our drink order. While we were enjoying the $150.00 wine that we were just served, we also ordered an appetizer. A few minutes after ordering, Tom, the manager, came over to our table and informed us that if we werenโt going to order dinner we would have to vacate the table. We asked if we could just have a few minutes to finish our wine, he said no! If we wanted to drink the rest of our wine we were welcome to go to the picnic tables (down the hill, and to the side of the restaurant). They quickly gave us the bill, which was approx $180 (including tax and tip for the waitress) and then told us they needed the table. We abided, but we had to leave the ridiculously expensive/overpriced wine because we did not feel comfortable going down to the picnic tables. To be honest, I may have actually understood the need for the table, had there not been 2 empty tables right next to us. We are all educated, successful and respectful women, we just had other plans for dinner that night. Had we known, via the website, that dinner was mandatory we obviously would not have gone to that restaurant for drinks and appetizers that particular night. If we were told upon entering, or if it was stated on the menu (or anywhere else in the restaurant) that dinner was mandatory, we would have understood. The way Tom the manager handled this situation was abhorrent, to say the least. The restaurant in and of itself is absolutely beautiful, but Tom the manager should not be in the hospitality business!!!

As a visitor, we had a wonderful meal at Crowโs Nest. If you get there and thereโs a waitlist, head down to the little bar by the water. You walk all the way down a hill to the water and itโs super cute with all of the boats on the lake. (You canโt see the beach bar from the restaurant but just walk down the hill and youโll find it.) We ate scallops and drank wine and it was all so delicious.
Be the first to ReplyHorrible!!!!!!
First off, just want to say that the rooms are very nice and the location is incredible. However, that being said, this is one of the WORST places I have ever stayed. We had to check in online which was great and convenient however, once you check in you are entirely by yourself! We tried to call the front desk....no answer. We called over three times, then we emailed three times....no response. All we were trying to tell them was that our TV wasn't workin and the AC kept stopping. Then we just tried to get some extra towels, it was literally IMPOSSIBLE! They finally emailed us back (NO PHONE CALL) eight hours later!!!!! The email explained that they would get someone right away to help us-NEVER SHOWED UP! They didn't even call or email to see if it was fixed. There is no hotel security, no front desk, or room service. I would say in my opinion this is a glorified Airbnb and that is actually giving this place a compliment because I've stayed at nicer Airbnbs with better amenities. I'm sorry but or someone who lives in the Hamptons and works in hospitality-DO NOT SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY AND STAY HERE! They are taking advantage e of being in Montauk and charging guests an outrageous amount of money-for a bed. I kindly, emailed the front desk yesterday and asking for a Manager to call me back and still no response! I am actually shocked how people are still booking this hotel-be aware!

Perfect place to stay in Montauk when you visit. Best sunsets and best restaurant out east! Rooms are bohemian chic and have great views as well! I've been staying here these last three years in a row and I keep coming back!
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful location but average experience
I saw several rooms and one of the chalets being here for an event. The rooms are average in size but no luggage racks were provided so we had to use the small chairs for our suitcases. The bed was very comfortable but the bathroom was really small in our room and without any exhaust so it got supper hot and steamy when you took a shower. Our room had a broken AC but they did manage to get it fixed. One thing we thought very strange was the no facial tissue. If you need to blow your nose, you will need to use toilet paper. We understand fully support the concept of not wanting to be wasteful with paper products and environmentally friendly, but if you are going to eliminate Kleenex you may want to reconsider all the plastic containers used for the bath products. The breakfast that came with the overnight stay (continental) was a bit lackluster consisting of berries, banana, croissants, granola and yogurt. If you want eggs they cannot accommodate even if you are willing to pay extra. You can order an espresso but no cappuccino. There were bikes but many lacked air in the tires. Our room had a front door and access from the back porch which was great. The table and chairs on the porch allow you to sit and enjoy the lake view and a nice breeze. Overall, it is a nice property but needs a bit of attention to in some areas to make it great to warrant the nightly rates ($350-$400/ngt).
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful view, but terrible food.
We went there with our family and loved the surroundings and view, but the food was terrible. The chicken finger and squash pasta was so bad, the kids didnโt eat it. So sad. A beautiful restaurant but inedible food.

We stayed in this gorgeous rustic boho retreat and enjoyed every minute. The restaurant is absolutely amazing and I would thoroughly recommend. The hotel has a really nice chilled out vibe to it which is perfect for families. We will definitely he returning very soon.
Be the first to Replycool spot but overpriced for mediocre food
the restaurant is okay, the food is decent but extremely overpriced even for the hamptons, and I've been going out there every summer for like 15 years. The little bar down by the water is cool, and pretty for sunset, $18 cocktails, even for a tequila soda, but charming. If you're going to pay that much I suggest going to surf lodge, gurneys or moby's instead.

Wonderful reviews. Missed experiencing the tantalizing taste experience others reviewed by 4 days. Season ends 3rd week of sept. Posted the menus of summer 2018. Staff were very polite and presented a number of healthy options to support our clean eating needs.
Be the first to Replybest dinner ever
i LIVE here and was a skeptic. who wants to pay $40+ for some bass and $30+ for summer pasta? I DO! This is my go to for any friend's birthday. the chef is so creative, the view is painterly, the bar tenders are creative and thewait staff is professional and damned good looking.
Be the first to ReplyGreat wedding venue
Celebrated a friend's wedding. Very nice, great service, delicious food in a romantic setting. The rooms are well appointed, with a boutique hotel feel. Went for a swim a couple of times in the shallow bay behind the inn, which was great and warm!
Be the first to ReplyLooking for the best beach getaway?- Found it!
What a fabulous experience my family had at Crow's Nest! From the loveliest Inn to the delicious restaurant and everything in between- we had a perfect beach getaway. Since our rooms were adjacent and the porches are so generous, we could all easily sit together outside of our rooms enjoying the amazing ambience. A few steps down from the porch, we were in what felt like our own glorious backyard. Another few steps took us to the beach. Crow's Nest provides paddle boards, beach towels, super comfy lounge chairs- everything you need for a day and evening at the beach. And the restaurant! The included continental style breakfast had the best quality fruit and pastry. Dinner was outstanding. We shared a few appetizers and all ordered different entrees. This chef is so very talented. Each menu item was scrumptious - thoughtfully created and beautifully presented . The wait staff is quite professional, but also very friendly. Every employee that we interacted with seemed to be delighted to be working at Crow's Nest.
