Nice and clean.
Superb breakfast. Affordable prices. A hidden gem in this beautiful town.

I have eaten there several times and the food is delicious. I love the waffles and homemade jams/jellies. Victoria you have always been helpful and efficient with your service, and it's always done w a smile. The establishment is clean and orderly and kept comfortable. Thank you. I recommend.
Be the first to ReplyThe Borland House Inn is one of those rare, special places
The Borland House Inn is one of those rare, special places you will love and visit over and over again. The Inn itself is historical and very beautiful, and Anna, the chef, will blow your mind with her farm to table cuisine! The Frumes family are very hospitable and cater to all your needs during your stay.My husband surprised me with a visit here for my belated birthday in May, and it couldn't have been more perfect. Now, let's dig into the food! Her brunch food, what they serve to the public, is so good (go for the prix fixe - yes, dessert for breakfast!) I had this incredible baked eggs dish with tarragon. Wish I had pics!If you're staying at the Inn, you MUST do the Chef's Table dinner. No ifs, ands, or buts! You will be treated to one of the best meals of your life: Greens, a Pasta, a Fish, a Meat and dessert! All local and farm to table delights that are equal parts fresh and indulgent. We're going back on Sunday for a second time and cannot wait! Note: I never really write Yelp reviews, but this place deserves it. Keep it on the DL so the secret doesn't get out TOO much!! :) (from 2016 but didn't post for some reason!)
Be the first to ReplyThis place is awesome.
Very early American with a hint of contemporary. Very clean and comfortable feel. Anna and her fathers (the owners), are pleasant people with an excellent idea of what customer service should be.

Such a warm and welcoming environment!A beautiful establishment in a beautiful village.I rented the Hummingbird suite. I loved being on the top floor and its privacy.Breakfast was hand/homemade by two of the most wonderful women ome could meet.My Lady and I really enjoyed our stay and intend to return, sooner than later.ps - 4 out of 5 stars because there wasn't a microwave or a way to warm up leftovers.HOWEVER, when staff was available, they would take your food and warm it up in their kitchen, for you.Not as convenient, but worth it, based on everything else.

Beautiful house no doubt but I was disappointed that it was not decorated for the holidays it would have been great if they turned into a winter wonderland. I first arrived with no email info but they corrected the mistake. The owner Anna was nice and made sure i had all that I requested, I changed my room because the first selection was why to small. My new room was spacious but for $180 for a night the room should be updated. The decor was confusing a lot of African art that did not go with anything. The free breakfast was Anna making me a delish Frittata. I will come back in the spring or summer as I here that's when it's really beautiful. Oh there coffee was sooo good.
Be the first to ReplyI used to work in the area, and during 2016-2019 I ate here
I used to work in the area, and during 2016-2019 I ate here frequently and fell in love with the food here. I would talk it up so much to friends that they would often drive out and meet me for lunch here during the week. But it seems time has changed things - the brunch I had here this morning no longer matches my memories of the delicious meals had here in the past. Brunch started out really well with buttermilk ricotta donuts as a starter and those were divine - just like I remember from the old times. Next we had the poached egg with leeks, and while it was decent, it wasn't the GREAT it used to be. But where I was really disappointed was in the frittata we ordered - it was likely 3 eggs short and what I got was an over cooked 1/2 inch of melted cheese, spinach, and mushrooms - I actually had to pull it apart to look and see if there was any egg inside. Not at all what a frittata is, and that's not because of creative license. It was just wrong. I could only eat half of it and left the rest. The final frustration was that there was no actual table service. After we placed our order a child brought our food to us and while he did a fine job of that, he was not a waiter - I had to call him over for each thing we needed. Could we have cream and sugar with our coffee? Could we have a sugar bowl that has actual sugar and not just splenda? The boy did his best, but I wouldn't consider it charming and folksy on a $70 bill. To top it off, we were charged a mandatory 20% gratuity on our check for this child to essentially bus our table rather than offer actual waiter service.Sad that all those memories of great meals there are now just that ... memories.
Be the first to ReplyI've only ever ordered takeout for breakfast.
.. but I love it. Their baked french toast is a big hit in my house. I strongly recommend. And I will definitely be ordering soon again.
Be the first to ReplyFood was amazing.
And I mean amazing. Staff was awesome and did I mention the food was amazing !!! Take home the scones --- you will not regret it.
Be the first to ReplyI LOVE this place! I had an amazing brunch this past
I LOVE this place! I had an amazing brunch this past weekend. I ended up going 2 days in a row. Please note, the house is under construction, but it didn't bother me at all, not with food and flavors like that! I can't wait for them to complete the space, it reminded me of a place I used to go in Indianapolis called Three Sisters- lovely house full of charm and good food! The biscuit and gravy with spicy fried chicken was delicious! And I shared with my friend, so we could try the vegetable frittata with bacon. It was a great balance with the two plates. Coffee was good. Also, we tried the homemade donuts. They were so good and warm. My friend had the quiche and said it was very good as well. They do have cocktails as well, but we stuck with coffee and tea. The staff was lovely. Such great flavors. The cheddar biscuits.. wow!!

Made a reservation a week ago through their website. No one answered the door at 10am (they open at 9am btw), waited ten minutes and saw the door open for another two ladies. Went in, got ignored by some old guy (assuming owner) turning a coffee machine on. No tables were set, lights still weren't on. He finally turns around and says, "can I help you?" "Yes, I have a reservation." "Ummm, I don't have any reservations." I said, "ok, well I made one a week ago. "Ok, well, obviously I don't have it, you can sit down if you want." Who in their right mind speaks to customers like that? Never again. And I'll be sure to pass this along. How disgusting.
Be the first to ReplyThis is a really cute spot to stay if you are in the Hudson
This is a really cute spot to stay if you are in the Hudson Valley. The town is so cute and the people are friendly. This spot is close to everything the parking is easy. The house is very clean, a little dated but it has nice grounds to sit and have breakfast or lunch. We went out and got breakfast and brought it back. It was self check in and I don't believe we saw anybody else pretty much the whole time we were there. There was no breakfast. Nobody to ask. I guess they have brunch you can reserve a spot (we did see some people eating at one point but nobody later in the day) but I didn't know anything about it and thought breakfast may have been included. It was fine though. We really appreciated the privacy and understand with covid going on. The room was plenty big enough and there was a private bathroom. And they have some board games if you so wish.
Be the first to ReplyGreat little brunch spot .
We were a party of 6 and everyone loved their food . I got the seasonal French toast and it was great not too sweet or heavy . Home fries are amazing . We sat at the tables in the lawn. I'm not sure if they have seating inside . Would definitely go back and maybe even stay overnight too
Be the first to ReplyLovely bed and breakfast that serves brunch on the weekends
Lovely bed and breakfast that serves brunch on the weekends in Montgomery! It's a very charming building and classic interior. The service was superb as well. The food was beyond expectations and so delicious. The baked French toast was layered with fresh seasonal peaches (I'm told the fruit they choose is always in season and changes accordingly) and sweet ricotta. It was dense and custard-y. My husband had the chicken, biscuits and gravy. This was so hearty and well made. The biscuits had bits of cheddar and held up well to the sausage gravy. Our son had the fresh fruit bowl and artisan toast. The fruit was peaches, blueberries, blackberries with fresh mint. He inhaled the whole bowl. Tea was served table side in an individual teapot, water carafe and fresh juice as well. We'll be back to try the rest of the menu
Be the first to ReplyJust had brunch.
..and while the food was good - it was really the service that left us wanting more. When the owner waited on us - things were fine. However, another individual who doubled as front/wait - both my husband and I were left scratching our heads as to what sort of training he might've been given. Barely a greeting when we entered. (I had to repeat the words "Hello" - before I got a grunt of a "hello" back. Specials were mumbled. And when I motioned to him that there was a problem - instead of coming to our table - he just stood in place on the other side of the room (with a guest in between us). It's a shame cuz the place is real nice n' cute. But with service like that - m'thinks we'll take a pass on round two.
