My friends and I visited for dinner one night and we really liked it! The building has so much charm and the interior was well done. Our booth was spacious and the decor was adorable. The food was great, too - we got a variety of sushi and other fare, and I think everyone enjoyed their meal. Overall, I recommend!

The restaurant itself was beautiful with amazing decor. Went with a fairly large party for my birthday and the services was great both our waitress and busser were extremely attentive and helpful. Drinks were pretty good and they had a nice selection of mocktails to choose from, food was great with lots of options. The star of the show was the sushi boat which we all shared in addition to other appetizers, everyone enjoyed their entree as well. We will definitely be back :)

Tried it tonight for the first time and had a great experience. Our server was great, knowledgeable, friendly, and on point with her recommendations. For our appetizers we had rock shrimp and zucchini fritters. Both were excellent. For our mains I had the duck breast, and it was fantastic. My date had the tortellini, which had great flavors but lacked texture, we spoke with the server and the manager who took the time to discuss the issue with the entree to our satisfaction. The desserts were phenomenal, the brown butter cake with ginger ice cream was delicious, and my crรจme burlee was wonderful. The coffee and cappuccino were great. We would go back again with out question!!!

Had dinner this past weekend with friends, and cannot say enough of how delicious every meal was. I had the Drunken noodles, which were so tasty and just enough spice to make me want more. Others had the Sea bass which was cooked to perfection. Another friend had the short ribs which just melted in your mouth. Everything was hot and beautifully presented. Service was perfect. The Blue Elephant is an elegant and airy atmosphere to enjoy a fabulous dinner or just drinks and delicious apps. Which we do often. Hats off the to Chefs and their team. Truly a treat for Pottstown. You will not be disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyI ordered takeout from here and would love to go dine in.
The ambiance and decor were so nice. It's an old bank which is neat. The spider sushi roll, chicken pad Thai, wings, rocky shrimp and zucchini fritters were delicious. The service and food packing with condiments was very good.

I grew up not far from here in the 80s- if you told me then that Pottstown would have a place like this, I wouldn't have believed it. The space is stunning. Our server had the right amount of sass and service. The sushi was really good, as were the dumplings and Kobe hot rock we had as apps. I enjoyed the gnocchi with lobster claw meat in a gochujang cream sauce. Hubs didn't care for his duck papardelle- hence a missing star. The pasta had a red curry sauce and the duck breast had a sweet sauce- they were in conflict with each other. Orange blossom creme brulee was nice. There's a good alcohol selection, too. I see why my parents like it here so much.
Be the first to ReplyService is very slow.
The waitress comes by when she feels like it took 20 minutes to have a beer poured. The brunch line is constantly empty of food and takes forever to refill. Good luck on the waitress, making another visit to your table. It was not busy at all. I don't understand such poor service and such poor quality of food for the price of $35 not worth it stay home or go to IHOP.

FULL STOP. It's where my dashing partner took me for dinner on our first Valentine's Day together, and it's where we always go when we have something to celebrate. It's just a great spot. First off, let's talk about the space, because it's SUPER cool. It used to be a bank, originally built in 1770, and all of the original brass work, bank vaults, and fixtures were kept intact when the restaurant was designed. It's got impossibly high ceilings and there are olive trees and all manner of lovely things all around to make it a truly special place. Next, let's talk about the bar. Cocktails are a delightful part of celebrating something, whether it's a birthday or Valentines Day, a new promotion, or the fact that you made it through Wednesday. The bar here is pretty fantastic and the bartenders are truly creative. My favorite drink, and I get it every time we go, is called The High Caliber, and it's a lovely mix of gin, blueberry, and Prosecco. Finally, THE MAIN EVENT: FOOD. It's Thai, it's sushi, it's Asian Fusion... it's GOOD. I get sushi takeout from here often, and it's always terrific. When we dine in, my favorite dish is the green curry lobster fettuccine (I normally pass on seafood like crab or lobster in pasta because the sauces are generally so heavy that they obliterate the delicate taste of the seafood. The flavors here really let the lobster's flavor shine). I had it again this week and it was magnificent. The not-so-good news is that the aforementioned lovely partner ordered a soup with edamame and truffle tortellini, which sounded great. Reader, it was not great. Not remotely close to great. Our server, Jordan (who was awesome, by the way) could tell he wasn't enjoying the soup and she took it away. Then, our entrees came and he realized he'd ordered a dish that included the same tortellini. That dish was also quickly cleared away. He ended up with a plate of drunken noodles, which he said were divine. So the tortellini were an anomaly. In short, the place is great. The bar is great. The service is great. And 99.8% of the time, the food is great. Definitely a great spot for date night, or any night.

If you want delicious food and to be well taken care of in a cool unique space come here! Prices were great and Athena (our server) was fantastic.

Noisy. We're there on a Saturday night. The service was average. The drinks were small. $10. for about 2 ounces of scotch and about the same amount of Chardonnay in a glass of wine. The food was ok but not hot. The water attendant came around to the table and would ask "You Guys want any water" . We left after dinner and said goodbye as the hostess was on her cell phone Will not be back.

Food and Service was AMAZING and the atmosphere was a whole vibe! Definitely recommend!
Be the first to ReplyMy husband and I came here on a Friday night date night.
I was able to get a last minute reservation for 8:00 pm. When we arrived the place was hopping. The restaurant is located in an old bank building with the historic architecture and gold accents. This gave it a more upscale vibe, but the noise level made it feel more casual. We started with the Kobe beef hot rock and toro(tuna) appetizers. The tuna wasn't that great, but the hot rock was fun and yummy. Our entrees were delicious! My husband loved the lamb. I was in a curried sauce that he very much enjoyed. My short ribs were so tender and the mashed potatoes were perfect. When it came to the dessert the cake was very hard and difficult to break bite sized pieces from. However the ginger ice cream was excellent.

We went with friends of ours for an early dinner on Saturday. The building is an old bank so that was neat to see and the dรฉcor is is unique with bold blues and upholstered chairs and sofas with a water fountain in the middle of restaurant. The food has an Asian flair and was delicious. We had Beef fried rice, Drunken noodles with seafood medley, green curry lobster fettucine and Beef pad Thai Everyone thoroughly enjoyed. They had delicious cocktails as well. Our waitress was very attentive. We had a great time.

We were able to park in the street almost right in front of the restaurant so we were off to a good start. There was also a parking lot next to the building so parking was easy. It's a large one room restaurant with very high ceiling, it's very impressive the moment you walk in. We went on a Sunday evening so it wasn't full, I'm told the volume can get quite loud when it is full. Happy to say it wasn't overly noisy. They had a nice selection of beer, wine and cocktails. Prices were typical except for the wine, I felt the bottle prices were reasonable. We were happy to order a bottle and then additional single glasses. My mother is vegan and they only had 1 vegan dish on the menu, thankfully it was "the best vegan dish ever". We also had Pad Thai, drunken noodles, sushi and fried rice. They had some nice adds and options like a spicy sauce and kobe beef for the fried rice. All the food was server at the same time, bravo Blue Elephant! There is nothing worse then going to a fine restaurant and then waiting for dishes. The food was hot and delicious. We literally had no complaints. I had been looking for something spicy and failed to really find what I wanted but it turned out the drunken noodles we're spicy! Great for me, perhaps a warning for others. Overall an excellent visit and we will be returning. It is fairly pricey but you get what you pay for and this was worth it.The bar looked very nice, we might try to grab a few seats there on a busy Friday or Saturday. Can't wait to go back!
Be the first to ReplyI would not recommend dining here.
They come across as a "high end, quality food" restaurant, but unfortunately, I was not impressed at all. It took about 30 minutes after our reservation time before we were actually seated. Then to top it off there was hair we food in our food. The cost of the item was removed from our bill and the manager did come over to apologize (which was appreciated), but sadly, we won't be returning, despite me really wanting to enjoy the experience.

Was a surprise to find such an unusual and upscale restaurant in Pottstown. The drink menu was unique and interesting. Had fast service and great food on a busy Saturday night. Should have a reservation but we walked in at 5 and got a table right away. Pleasant and helpful servers and staff. Will definitely go again when in town.

They're my go to for Asian food. I love their dumplings and spring rolls.

We enjoy dinner for the drunken noodles and the drinks. Went to brunch recently and didn't like it as much. The drunken noodles for brunch didn't have as much flavor and the food really wasn't spectacular. But highly recommend for dinner.

Beautiful room! Vaulted ceilings, high arched windows and gorgeous modern furnishings. Great Motown music at the perfect volume, just loud enough to be heard, not so loud that you can't hear your dinner partner. Service was very good. Attentive, but not intrusive. The food was sublime. I started with the mushroom soup, small densely rich mushroom dumplings in a clear flavor packed broth, with tiny floating, delicate, rust colored mushrooms. I don't think I've ever had a soup this good. As an entree I had two salads, portions were good and I took some home. First the Wasabi Caesar, a delicious combination of baby kale leaves, edamame and crunchy fried wonton. I added some tofu for protein and the salad alone could have been a meal. Great homemade dressing and a dusting of parmigiana cheese turned a salad into a fantastic mouth watering event. The second salad was a pumpkin(squash), apple, cranberry, pepito and spinach yum fest. My partner had the seaweed salad and it was fresh and perfectly spiced with sesame oil and it looked beautiful in its black pottery bowl. He also had the Pad Thai and it was good, a little different from what I've had before, with a redder drier sauce, unlike a slightly browner more traditional sauce I had before. We finished with a creme brรปlรฉe and considering that we were not in a French restaurant, it was prettier stellar. I highly recommend this restaurant and I will definitely be going back!
