I recently stayed in a premium bubble dome as a treat for my birthday it was fabulous from start to finish. We got a buggie to the room and went to the spa which was an experience sitting in the hot tub with a Prosecco was the perfect way to spent a Sunday afternoon! The meal in the barn was amazing cannot recommend enough we will be back!

We got this overnight in a premium bubble as a gift so it wasn’t that we choose to visit here. We tried to change the date booked for us but it was a DIFFICULT LENGTHY process and didn’t work out in the end so rather than loose the night booked ( which cost a lot of money ) we decided to go. The check in at reception was good and she was pleasant and we got a little ride on up to our bubble and I on the way she explained all about the place. Leonara was pleasant and friendly I didn’t like the lack of feeling of security around the bubble. You can’t lock the door. Inside it’s very “exposed” - got a feeling anyone could lurk in the bushes Everything inside was top class in the bubble lovely bed with electric blanket , beautiful bath ( too exposed) coffee teas hot chocolate , a fridge filled with of goodies ( think this was an extra on our package ) books, games , radio. But all in all it was unbalanced by the cramped toilet / shower facilities and socket that wouldn’t work at the handbasin and an echo feeling when we talked to each other. . You have to walk five mins up a dirty track to dine. Thankfully it wasn’t raining on our stay. The BARN restaurant is a lovely place but food way overpriced snd small portions for the price. It’s a sort of tapas / sharing menu. Overrated Breakfast is delivered between 9 and 10 am so you’re waiting around not knowing what time it will come. It’s not that great anyway when it does come to be honest. You have to drag your luggage back up the rough lane to check out. I was awake early and it was so bright in the bubble and as the sun came up it got hot so I can’t imagine how it would be on a hot summer day ! A very expensive experience , not worth it in my opinion , i wouldn’t recommend to my friends as I didn’t like it. And I wouldn’t return. Sorry. For some but not for me Staff all foreign- nice, pleasant but not one local or no info on local attractions - strange

This is a magical place, probably made more so by the Irish weather being on her best behaviour. Check in was easy and the staff very friendly. We stayed in a bubble dome for one night. We were brought to our dome in a golf buggy, through the woods. Your dome is set on its own plot with a gate that locks. The dome we were in was on top of a small hill and had great views. I wasn’t a fan of the fact you can’t lock the doors in the dome. We were told this was for safety reasons relating to the dome being inflated. The gate does lock but if you’re anyway paranoid about security this might not be for you. The interior of the dome was small but had all you’d need. Small fridge, Bluetooth speaker, electric blanket. The toilet and shower are in a wet room, side bubble. So time your shower to when you don’t mind the floor being wet. The bar/library/games room was so cosy & again the staff super friendly. We had dinner in the Barn restaurant. The food was amazing and the wait staff explained every item we ordered when it arrived to the table. It’s not what I’m into I’d rather just get stuck in but each to their own. There are bikes you can borrow & cycle around and a nice short walking trail. If the weather had been cloudy and we didn’t get the view of the moon & stars I’d be a bit disappointed & think it was over priced. Because it was such a clear night it made the price a little easier to pay. Breakfast delivered to you the next morning is such a treat & it was delicious. You then ring up to reception to request someone to collect you to bring you back to reception.

We had a wonderful time at Finnlough!! Couldn’t have wished for a better experience, lovely, warm and friendly staff with amazing food. I absolutely loved falling asleep under the stars and woke up to the birds singing... so much peace and tranquility throughout this beautiful resort. Staff meat all my requests without hesitation. They were very attentive at all times and it gave me the most happy experience and would certainly look to book again. Well done folks unreal place to stay !

The service from the staff which was first class everyone went out of their way to make us feel special. They were very friendly and made it feel like we were in a private resort in Caribbean, which weve been to and wasn’t as good, and they were our personal staff. The Barn restaurant was amazing. The staff really took time with each and every table, knew our names and the food was some of the best weve ever had. Special mention to Curtis who made us feel especially welcome with his free mimosas and snacks. The other barman who made us free popcorn and the restraint staff who explained every aspect of the food and how we could enjoy it. There is no doubt it was expensive to stay here but unlike other expensive places the staff and food made it worthwhile. We didn’t use spa so can't comment. You get pre ordered room service hamper which is fablous, see our photos.

We spent three days at Finn Lough. It’s a super hideaway the dinner restaurant, called The Barn, is superb. Did not expect fine dining of this standard. More of a tasting menu than a standard one. We stayed in a lodge by the lake. It was idyllic. Lunch menu is more standard bar food ( burgers etc) which may be what’s wanted but the lovely setting of the bar an a cinema room could take a more expansive menu, with the super chefs they obviously have. The staff are so helpful, warm and welcoming. Great spa experience. Not cheap, but well worth it. They know their wines too. We will certainly be back.

From the minute I stepped into the reception the staff were amazing. I decided to stay in the dome for 1 night and one of the apartments for one night and also opted to do the elements trail in the spa. The dome was just phenomenal, unfortunately it rained and it was cloudy so no real star gazing but was a fantastic experience none the less.

Wonderful experience, the premises, the food all absolutely amazing and mostly importantly the staff they have working are all brilliant - they made our stay more enjoyable. The only negative I would have to say it's the buzz from the bubble domes can be quite loud so if your a light sleeper it may be an issue.

This is worth every penny. It is the most romantic place we have ever stayed. The service is great as well. Breakfast was delicious and the staff is very very friendly. It's a bit cold (we were there in February) but the bathrobes are very thick and there is an electric blanket in the bed to keep you warm.

Staying at Finn Lough was such a great experience. We booked the spa trail before check in so we got started with that, it was amazing and so relaxing and it set the tone for the rest of our stay. Our bubble dome was lovely and the little touches in the room really made us comfortable. Waking up beneath a four posted bed and looking out into the forest was really special. The heated blanket kept us nice and toasty and we even had breakfast delivered to our dome in the morning. Above all else the service was what really made Finn Lough a level above anywhere else we could have gone to. From the friendly team at reception to the spa manager and the bartender everyone was so hospitable. Their relaxed and friendly service made us feel like we got to enjoy a bit of luxury for a few days without the pretentiousness that normally comes with it.

Went here as a part of a senior leadership training program and really enjoyed the experience. The food was fantastic and the staff were really helpful. We stayed in the villas and couldn't fault them. I look forward to coming back again with my partner and enjoying the bits i didn't get to see this time.

Thank you to the wonderful Finn Lough! We were craving some time out of the city, so we booked a last minute stay to escape from the chaos. We only wish we had done it sooner! From the minute we arrived we felt completely relaxed, the staff were second to none. We stayed in a bubble dome and booked in for a tasting with the brilliant Pavlos and then dinner in the Barn. Considering the price for the "experience" it was definitely poor hence the Tripadvisor 2 stars. My husband and I stayed for two nights in Finnlough in February 2024 to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Things to do: We started our stay with the elements spa trail experience which consisted of 4 stations for which we could only spend 15 minutes at each station - it was extremely rushed. When we finished each station, we were shown to a dingy changing room and shower - with cold water - in February. The bar where you can go for a drink or have lunch is very nice, they have various board games, conversation cards etc. which encourages you to switch off from your phone and the outside world and we really enjoyed this. Yoga is delivered on the weekends and you can attend this for free. The teacher we had was really lovely and this was fun to do. There is a very short walking trail on the grounds through the forest but if you're looking to get out for a decent walk/hike, you'll have to leave the grounds and find somewhere decent because this trail is extremely short and waterlogged. They have free bikes - though I don't know where you'd be cycling to because there isn't much in the way of roads/trails for these. They appear to have canoes at the lakeside for when the weather gets warmer. Food: A friend had arranged for wine and a cheese board to be delivered to our room on arrival and the cheese board was honestly pathetic - a few grapes, one type of dry and tasteless crackers and a small amount of cheese. There was so much space on the board and it looked so, so mean. When I sent a picture of it to my friend (to thank her), she was so annoyed as she said herself how mangy it looked and stated that was absolutely NOT what was advertised when she was arranging it. Breakfast is genuinely the biggest joke of this whole experience. Their advertised "continental breakfast" consists of orange juice (not freshly squeezed) and two tiny pain au chocolat pastries and that is it! You can order granola and yogurt as add ons and you can choose a hot option. I ordered french toast (which sounded lush on their menu) and when it came it was three small pieces of french toast which was seeping with oil/butter and an undercooked thick piece of rasher (really unappetising). My husband got a cheese and tomato frittata and this was also tiny and tasteless! Their lunch menu is very basic with very few options. We ordered the beef and chicken burger and they were fairly tasty. At 11am, you can go to the bar for free mimosas, coffee and ONE mini pain au chocolat (incase you didn't fill up on the one you had from your "continental breakfast"). Dinner was really tasty (tapas style) however the selection of wines by the glass is appalling considering the genuinely great food and general ambience of the restaurant. The staff were all round lovely people throughout our stay. The bubble dome itself was fun because it's a very different experience but it is cold, noisy (from the air keeping it up) and for what you're paying, it could be much nicer - the shower is absolutely tiny. I'm a size 10 and found it a tight squeeze! We stayed for 2 nights for £1,500 (this included accommodation in a premium bubble dome, the elements trail spa experience, breakfast x 2, lunch x 1 and dinner x 2). We knew it would be expensive but we wanted to go somewhere special for our anniversary and were willing to pay such a price for the unique experience and the luxury that Finnlough presents itself as. It was a unique experience but it was far from luxurious and it definitely wasn't worth anywhere close to £1500! Seriously Finnlough Team, if you take anything from this review - sort the breakfast out! It is honestly shocking that that is what you serve to people who have paid you such a steep price for their stay!

Myself and my partner went to Finn Lough for an early Valentines trip. While we enjoyed it on the whole, we stayed in a Premium Dome and I don't believe its worth the price Finn Lough are charging. In general, the experience was pleasant, but wouldn't necessarily call it a luxury getaway. I think just walking around Finn Lough, it needs a lick of paint and just generally a bit of TLC. To charge luxury prices the place needs to feel luxurious. While you can see the place was absolutely fantastic brand new, I think Finn Lough needs to invest a little to bring the place back up to standard. The staff however were very pleasant, and the food in the restaurant is just fantastic.
