Great service, okay food, slooowww kitchen
Came in after work with three friends for dinner on a weeknight. Very nice waitress and staff. Drinks were good, albeit expensive. Dinner was so slow in coming (2 salads and 2 sandwiches) that one of our group had to take her dinner to go in order to make a train. Timing aside, the food was well prepared, albeit expensive but not particularly distinguished. Attractive bar area, nice adjacent dining area, and upstairs room.

We went downtown Chicago to explore/shop at the Christkindlemarket at the Daley Plaza. I made reservations at Taureaux days prior since it looked close to where we were going to be plus it's listed as a French restaurant. Having been in France/Paris in October we wanted to still connect with that trip for my birthday.
Although it wasn't busy when we initially arrived it was nice to be seated quickly and during the entire evening, our service was exceptional.
Our food was cooked to perfection and the flavors amazing. I was also surprised with an awesome Birthday dessert as well.
We loved the entire night dining here and we will come back again!
Large, large bar
My company that I work got rented entire restaurant for our event. So we had it all for us. But they served only few kinds of appetizers mainly focusing on alcohol. There was no formal dinner so it is hard to eats their kitchen ... I loved spritzers but my friend didn’t like at all . Stag was super nice and friendly , Space is really nice in the middle of business district of Chicago, downtown . Over all, I liked it.

Ordered a cocktail, it was about 1/3 the size of a cocktail at similar venues, only the that the price was the same. Ordered the drink on the rocks-it came straight up-not a big deal, but the waiter came back with a glass of ice and poured the straight up cocktail into it.
Ordered the "hot and bubbly" onion soup for an appetizer. It came out cold and hard. It was as if it was made in the morning, refrigerated, and then microwaved(not all the way) then brought to my table.
It was not particularly busy, but the waiter had made himself pretty scarce when it came to getting another round of drinks and to order dinner.
Had a burger and fries, which were pretty good. Especially the garlic fries. Burger was done medium rare and was done perfectly.
The place is very nice with a awesome bar, but with average, high priced food, sky high drinks and average service, I'm not sure how long this place will last.
Amazing lunch & service
I visited for lunch with a colleague and was very surprised by this new spot. It's beautiful outside with large windows and a cozy patio (wasn't set up yet as it was still chilly out for Chicago patio dining) was extremely welcoming, and the inside was just as nice. Comfortable dining seats, spacious bar and a loft overlooking the bar for private events. Our food was wonderful, service was second to none and the whole experience was great. It's a nice gem in the Financial District and I cannot wait to go back. It was an intimate spot for a nice business lunch, but by the looks of the crowd, they do a great "happy hour" business and group dining!

The greeting at the door was welcoming and the food was delicious. The bone marrow/oxtail dish was amazing. The Burrata Prosciutto hors d’ oeuvre dish is a must. The mixed drinks were over the top excellent. We are very hard to please dinners - but this is a Culinary must-eat spot when in Chicago.
Be the first to ReplyNot Super Bullish on this Place
Came here for a celebratory lunch on a Monday, early. We arrived a little after 11 am and the place was pretty much empty. We were surprised when they asked if we had a reservation. We inquired - Do we need one? Seems empty. They told us that by noon the place would be packed and a reservation was essential. They did seat us in the bar area which was fine with us.
Our waiter was great. Very attentive and informative.
I ordered the Wagyu beef dip because it was the waiter's recommendation. I am not sure that it was any better than a regular beef dip. It was very messy so if you are wanting to keep your dress or tie clean I would think about something else. I really liked the accompanying fries though another at our table thought them to have a strange flavor. The other two at our table had the turkey avocado club. I think it was a good sandwich but not special. Again I think the price a bit on the high side.
Each dish was served cold - disappointed
My co-workers and I were so excited to try this new French restaurant during restaurant week. The tart was cold and seemed like more of a flatbreatd, our steaks were prepared perfectly, but also served cold, like they were sitting there forever to be delivered to our table. One of my co-workers asked for his dessert to be delivered in a box since he would eat it later. That wasn't done. The desserts that were supposed to have whipped cream had none and we had to ask for it on the side. I expected more of a restaurant of this caliber and likely won't be back.

Taureaux Tavern is a brand new restaurant opened this year and it’s about the closest you can get to Lasalle St. Station. I have been previously to TT and had after work drinks with a colleague and it was packed and had a great atmosphere.
This particular occasion my family and I went for brunch. I had the Eggs Benedict which were fabulous and easily make my top 5 list for EB. My better half had the avocado toast which was also delicious. Each of us had a cocktail, mine was an Irish coffee which was a little too Irish and with not much coffee and the other was a champagne mule.
Our service was great and the waiter attentive and just all around nice. We had a lot of bags/space taken up and they gladly accommodated us.
I would highly recommend for drinks/dinner or brunch. It’s in a great location too!
