Always Amazing. We come here EVERY time we visit South Lake Tahoe. Our favorites are the stroganoff (splurge and get it with spaetzle) and the lamb shank. The recipes are authentically European. Nothing disappoints.

Delicious food, great service, large portions and reasonable prices. The schnitzel is amazing. The chocolate mousse for dessert was literally the best restaurant dessert I've ever had and I'm in my 60's! Highly recommend this place. It's not fancy, just delicious!

Great Eastern European food. My husband enjoyed goulash (pieces of meat in a delicious sauce). I loved the fried mushroom appetizer. Apple stroudel is tasty. The very friendly owner bakes it herself.

This family owned business is amazing!! You really are getting an authentic European experience here. Everything on the menu is freshly made to order. The portions are very generous but make sure to save room for the desserts, the strudel is the best we have ever had!

Our server/owner was super. Schnitzel and spaetzle were delicious!!! I highly recommend visiting this restaurant!
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, friendly server
Ate here three weeks ago. We both had soup followed by Taste of Europe Schnitzel - could not fault either. Our server (bald headed, sorry didn't catch your name) was friendly and helpful, explained best way to navigate the lake if not keen on heights. We also sampled the Goulash which was delicious.

Very good Schnitzel, red cabbage, and Spรคtzle. THE beer went well with meal. The service was great. We would return if we ever are in the area.
Be the first to ReplyVery good food, oversized portions
Tasty European food with oversized portions. Comfortable outdoor setting. Service requires a little bit of patience, but is friendly and helpful.

We had trouble finding anywhere to eat after the Caldor fire, lots of places were still closed. We found this gem on our second to last day there, so happy I was persistent calling them every day to see if they were back in business. They are at the top of my list when we get back in September, schnitzel/spaetzles/ red cabbage dinner was delicious! Owners talked Ohio State and Cleveland Browns with my husband and he was thrilled to be so far from home and find people that were fans!
Be the first to ReplyTasteless food, rude staff, many surcharges
Not sure how this place has decent reviews. Three stars would surprise me-- they likely pay to scrub their reviews. The food is nasty- tasteless pork schnitzel, unsure what they did with the poor spรคtzle, the rotkraut was somehow sweet like jam, but perhaps this is acceptable as it is in a touristy area and survives on hungry bypassed. The side salad was good We ordered a beer and a Radler- the beer was good. The "Radler" was nasty- lacking beer, and small. It resembled something along the lines of a bitter lemonade, or maybe an Arnold Palmer. The restaurant did not fail to live up to their failure- they charged the same price as the beer plus a $1 surcharge for a "Radler" that was smaller than the beer. The service was pretty bad- we had an efficient but unfriendly waiter (perhaps he was just burned out). The tip of the iceberg was a $5.95 split plate charge- except they didn't actually split the plate. They gave me an extra plate- we did the splitting. I inquired- the waiter said that is "how it is done." Tip- there is a great German place in South Lake Tahoe near the California Lodge. Make a reservation, go there. Avoid this disaster that serves bad food and managed two surcharges on one check.

We went for a family dinner while in Tahoe for Christmas. The service was great. The food was delicious and the portions were huge! We had the fried mushrooms to start, the taste of Europe schnitzel, jaegerschnitzel, and chicken schnitzel. They were all delicious. The mushroom gravy was great and the speatzela was the best Iโve ever had!! I would definitely recommend!
Be the first to ReplyNow that's German Food
One word, Delicious!! Great German food with a pinch of Czech influence. Best Jagerschnitzel I had in years. Loved the spatzle with the added bacon bits and sliced green onions, I couldn't stop eating it. If you're ever in So. Lake Tahoe, you got to put them on your dinner list. Large portions at a reasonable price, we were stuffed, but still bought some of their homemade strudel for later. Regular German food will never be the same.

Best European food in Tahoe. They have great schnitzel sandwiches . The service is excellent and they have a few tables outside as well as inside.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food and plentiful
The food was amazing. We had a variety of entrees and they were all outstanding. Schnitzel was great, beef stroganoff, spaghetti and meatballs, spaetzels , red cabbage, strudel all very good. Would return for sure.
Be the first to ReplyCzech/German restaurant in South Lake Tahoe
Czech/German restaurant in South Tahoe with indoor and outdoor dining. Came here on a Saturday around 2pm for a late lunch and the outdoor dining spots were still all taken, though we had our pick of indoor tables. Bathrooms are available in the back. Credit cards are accepted. We parked in the residential area and had a short walk over. Itโs a kid friendly spot. They do serve alcohol. There was only one waitress working so there is a bit of a wait, but Iโd say she handled waiting tables gracefully. Food-wise, the plates are on the pricier side but had good-sized portions. We split a dinner for two pork shank and beef stroganoff among four people and left satisfied (and that was after we had hiked along the Rincon trail). You have the option to add a soup or salad for $1 more alongside your entree. The beef stroganoff was very creamy and the spaetzl was soft. The pork shank was tender and came with gravy, spaetzl, red cabbage, and onions. It was our first time having Czech food, and it was a pleasant experience. The food is heavy but you can easily split dishes and you can order some Czech beer to complement your food.
