Great sushi, well balanced with small rice
The sushi was excellent. Takeda-san has been a chef since coming to New York for a quarter century. He prepares the sushi with great skill, and the small rice balls create a perfect balance when making the sushi. The sushi is so delicious that it makes you wonder why he doesn't have a Michelin star.

To say "outstanding" is an understatement. The quality of the fish was excellent, with the freshest ingredients from Japan. The atmosphere was intimate as the entire restaurant was limited to eight patrons. I felt treated as a special guest, and the space gave me an authentic and exclusive feeling. The staff was highly responsive, though their command of the English language wasn't the greatest. My only suggestion might be for them to offer a card with a written description of each piece of sushi. But this was a minor issue as the experience was beyond compare Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyOmakase Under the Dark
Outside, it looks like most Omakase restaurants, closed, windowless like banks during the 70s and 80s. Inside, is quite different from normal because itโs dark in here, almost romantic. There been a few Omakase that I been to with a more westernized dinner setting. My fave, Shuko comes to mind. I like this kind of setting because I donโt get that diner vibe when itโs too bright. The food was great, just not spectacular. Nothing really jumped out of my taste buds except for the rolled omelette they served at the end which is a bit different from the usual Tamago. Chef and staff quite friendly. The only downside is the room is very tight and so you will feel servers in back of you running around.
Be the first to ReplyFine classical sushi
A recently opened reservation and omakase only restaurant that seats 8 people around a sushi bar at a time. Sushi Chef Takeda prepares delicate, fine and very tasty sushi from excellent quality fish. While pricey ($105 for 14 pieces of $85 for fewer), the quality is a good as many more expensive places.
