You'll be left speechless by how delicious it is!
I've always wanted to visit TACUBO. Every single dish was so well-made! The tableware was lovely and a feast for the eyes as well. The mozzarella cheese really whetted my appetite, and I was able to enjoy it all the way to the end without running out of steam! Personally, I especially liked the meat, and the whole bell peppers were amazing (you could even eat the seeds). The scallops were also surprisingly thick! And the dessert was amazing! The financiers that came at the end were so tasty! I'd definitely like to visit again!

Small intimate restaurant with only 8 counter seats. The dishes features plenty of Japanese ingredients. The pasta and risotto were very tasty. A little bit disappointed with the meat. We were served the pork and it was not as tender as I expected. Perhaps, I should have opted for the more expensive lunch ¥13,500 where the beef is featured. Overall, it was a great lunch. I thought it was very thoughtful of the restaurant to offer another serve of pasta after the meat to those who hasn’t had enough. To note is that in lieu of service/tax, the restaurant charge a cover of ¥1,200 pp. I think it’s fair.

We took a course including the signature Woodfired beef.
Their appetizers, and pasta were pretty nice of course, but their (real) wagyu prepared in a woodfired oven just totally blew me away.
The crust, the smoky flavor and the beautiful
medium rare cooking was literally up to perfection..
Elegant, innovative, but felt unwelcome
The food itself met all my expectations and more. Tacubo takes italian cuisine and brings it to a new level. The meal itself fits well within the japanese construct of counter, omakase-style plating. The fresh home-made breads, the delicious chowder, delectable pastas, and grand finale of kagoshima filet - all delivered. The only thing that made the experience less than great was a discernable feeling of discrimination and almost as if I was the brunt of some jokes between the chef and the staff. My suspicion was confirmed when I left and I could hear the restaurant erupt with laughter. Not sure what I did to warrant such ridicule, but can honestly say I've never experienced anything quite like it. Great food, but sad to say I don't think I will return.
