Wonderful experience in Jade
We enjoyed our short stay over Christmas at Club Med Cancun. Staying in Jade was terrific and the reason we enjoyed our trip. We loved the friendly and fantastic staff, the quiet pool space, delicious lunches / snacks and evening events. It was the perfect respite from the busyness of the rest of the resort and staff went out of their way to ensure a wonderful time. Special shout outs to Christelle and her front office team and especially all of the bar / pool crew (Daniel, Eliseo, Efraim, Ademir, Jaime, Erasmo, Roman and chefs Jorge / Jaime). Beyond Jade, other highlights included pickleball, white sand beach and great sunsets. Buffet at Hacienda was good during non-peak hours and specialty restaurants were only okay. Sailing staff always had a reason why you couldn't sail (we tried multiple times and then gave up) and they didn't try very hard to encourage you to come back. If you're active, outgoing and love the Club Med culture, this is a great place for a vacation.

4 April 2023 20-27 MARCH 2023 CANCUN TRIPADVISOR.COM REVIEW View from 1,000 Feet/Meters I recently returned from my 99th Club Med holiday – this time to wonderful Club Med Cancun Yucatan. This was my 4th visit to this Village over the last 36 years. A very last minute travel decision and then arrangements – all during Spring Break! What was I thinking? Read on! My original plan was for a short 4 night stay – 20-24 March 2023 – but had such a wonderful time I extended my stay from 5 to 8 days (20-27 March 2023)! NEED I SAY MUCH MORE? Purpose of this Trip: While most people travel to Club Med Cancun for a much needed vacation, a Destination Event (Wedding, etc.), Spring Break, or simply to “get away” - I was there specifically to Surprise a very dear Club Med Turkoise GM Friend. While we are scheduled to see each other at CM Turkoise in late May – LIFE IS SHORT AND I DID NOT WANT TO WAIT ANOTHER 2 MONTHS! I have pulled-off this stunt with him 3 times before; fortunately he has a short memory! HE WAS TOTALLY SURPRISED! Platinum Level Club Med Member Perspective: While each Club Med Village strives to provide THE VERY BEST GUEST VACATION EXPERIENCE POSSIBLE - AND THEY REALLY DO STRIVE TO DO THIS – after 99 Club Med trips over the last 38 years – you learn that nothing in this world is perfect. NEAR PERFECT IS GOOD ENOUGH! Arrive with a smile on your Face and positive attitude, and remember that a friendly gesture, and “Hello,” “Good-bye,” “Please,” and ”Thank You” GOES A LONG WAY. Being Nice, Courteous, and having Good Manners COSTS NOTHING! Also, YOU ATTRACT BEES WITH HONEY, not with Vinegar. BE GENEROUS WITH TIPS! If you are Blessed enough to afford a Club Med vacation - you certainly can afford a few extra dollars for Tips. Transportation to Cancun (CUN) and the Village: Every airline flies to Cancun (CUN). My MIA/CUN flight was a short 65 minutes. I travel V/V (without included Transfers), so had Club Med arrange my transport to the Village. As promised with excellent prior Communications from Planning and Guest Relations, a Club Med Representative was waiting for me outside the Airport Exit. Because of the Village’s exceptional location in Cancun, it is a very short drive from the airport – all for $55US Round-trip (Not including Tips). “EASY ARRIVAL” Early Check-In I completed the On-Line Form before Departure – and printed out confirmation of my 6,000 Peso Credit Card Hold. Upon Arriving to the Village, it saved one Check-In step - Presenting the Credit Card I use for International Expenses (no FX Charges) to establish a customary Credit Card Hold and Opening a Village Expense Account. From there, the usual Check-In steps were completed. Village Layout: The CM Cancun Village is built on the southern tip of Cancun and is totally surrounded by beautiful water. As the very first development – it has the LARGEST and BEST PIECE of real estate in Cancun. To the North is the Caribbean Sea with a long sand beach with plenty of chaise lounges and sun protection; to the East is the reef with portions literally coming up to the land; to the South is the calmer portion of the Caribbean Sea – more like a Bay – with Water Sports, Snorkeling, and Diving Departures; the Cancun Lagoon is to the West. The Village is in the shape of a letter “U” resting on its side and facing West– with the above Cancun Lagoon in the middle. The Village Square (Reception and Offices, Theater, Main Dining Room, Pool, Boutique, and ALL Village Services and Operations) is located at the very Northeast Corner along the beach. From there, all ten Guest Room Buildings, Taco Arte Annex Restaurant, Sport Venues, etc. takes advantage of the Sea, Lagoon, and rest of the amazing location along the sides of the “U”. Golf Cart Buggies (and now Vans) frequently depart from Reception to transport everyone along the Eastern and Southern side of the “U”. A very beautiful ride. If you don’t want to wait, you can walk to burn-off calories! Preferred Accommodations: IT IS ALL ABOUT LOCATION – as I think most of the “Superior” rooms in eight (of the ten) buildings are identical, nice, clean and comfortable, and come equipped with a Balcony, a bathroom with double sinks, marvelous Rain Shower, separate W/C, plenty of closet space, digital safe for valuables, sunken seating area, and a small refrigerator. The Village is quite large, so I requested to Planning Manager Carlos Sanchez – even during extremely busy Spring Break and in the last minute - a room assignment in a Building near the Village Square. My favorites are Turquesa (4000) or Topacio (3000). PERFECTO! Even room numbers face the Ocean; odd number rooms face the Lagoon. “X0XX” is Ground Floor; “X1XX” second floor, “X2XX” third floor, etc. My 3118, 4104, and 3009 rooms were well-located and had a marvelous view of the Beach or Lagoon. Even though my first two rooms had Beach views, I especially liked my last room – a Ground floor over the Lagoon. I THOUGHT I WAS STAYING IN A LARGE STATEROOM ON A YACHT FLOATING ON THE WATER. AWESOME! Note: Never be shy to call Reception to let them know if something in your room is not working. THE GOAL IS YOUR SAFETY AND COMFORT. My requests were quickly addressed. Guest Relations moved me from my first room due to issues undergoing full repair. Planning moved me to my last room – the very last room available in the 1000-4000 Buildings during Spring Break - when I extended my stay. Main Soluna Bar: The ever-important Soluna Main Bar is centrally located near the Beach, Main Pool Deck, Outdoor Entertainment Venue, and Reception. After the Evening Show/Entertainment, it also serves as the Night Club for Crazy Signs and Dancing. Restaurants Selection: There are THREE RESTAURANTS serving DELICIOUS food almost around the clock – and Las Velas Bar/Crepari/Snack Bar on the Main Pool Deck. Each provides a wide selection, including Baby and Kid-Friendly food (although, what a wonderful opportunity to expand a Child’s palate!) PACE YOURSELF! You will never be hungry! PLEASE REMEMBER TO ALWAYS INVITE TWO GO’s TO JOIN YOU FOR YOUR MEALS! All have an infinite amount of wonderful stories AND LAUGHS to share: 1.La Hacienda Restaurant – Second Floor Main Buffet Restaurant located OVER the Village Square serving Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. It has the largest food selection, with many unique and interesting Dining Rooms surrounding the Buffet area. DON’T GET LOST when you get up from your table seeking more DELICIOUS food! SERIOUSLY! THANK YOU LA HACIENDA CHEFS! 2.Taco Arte Restaurant and Bar – A thatched roof “Palapa” Restaurant built over the water on the quiet portion of the Caribbean Sea between the Jade and AguaMarina buildings. Taco Arte has a Mexican-themed Buffet for Breakfast and Lunch, and for Dinner converts to a Limited Reservation Sit-Down Dinner Restaurant. While the DELICIOUS Breakfast and Lunch Buffet is smaller than La Hacienda Restaurant – AL FRESCO DINING SITTING OVER THE SEA IS THE BEST! All my Breakfasts, Lunches, and Reservation Dinners were literally hours long. I closed Taco Arte for each meal. PURE BLISS AND DELICIOUS! THANK YOU TACO ARTE CHEFS AND THE CARIBBEAN SEA! Dinner Reservations – and they are limited - are made up to two days in advance on the Club Med Cancun APP. Each meal was OUTSTANDING. THANK YOU TACO ARTE CHEFS! And, a shout out to Manager Pavel and his Hostess. They were incredibly accommodating for my Reservation changes. Caution: While Children are invited, the two hour dinner may test a child’s patience. 3.La Estancia Restaurant (Argentinian Steakhouse) – Located steps from Reception, it serves only a Limited Reservation Sit-Down Dinner (and late night snacks until Midnight). AT EACH DINNER, I HAD THE BEST STEAK EVER (and I have eaten in some of the finest Steakhouses). THANK YOU LA ESTANCIA CHEFS! Again, a shout out to the La Estancia Manager and Hostess who also were incredibly accommodating for my Reservation changes. DELICIOUS and a very convenient location. The same Caution as above: While Children are invited, the two hour dinner may test their patience. Sports: 1.SAILING – I actually learned how to Sail at Cancun 37 years ago – SO AM CONSIDERED A SERIOUS SAILOR (I also teach Sailing). I had a great time Hanging Out with Sailing Team GO’s Nissam (Mgr.) Antonio/Tony, John, Roy, and Pablo. Even invited two at a time to join my Friends and I for Taco Arte and La Estancia Restaurant Dinners. GREAT Guys! Oh, yes I did get to Sail the eight Hobie Waves four of my eight days. Also, took Day Pass Guests out for rides. I HAD FUN! I LOVE TO SAIL WHEREVER I CAN! The Mexican Government Closed All Water Activities four other days due to windy conditions. Unfortunately, the Sailing Zone has been slightly reduced to make way for the ever increasing number of annoying little power-boat Excursions. At one point I counted 30 of them, ready to get in the way of Sailing. AARGH! Unfortunately, CM Cancun must share the best Caribbean Sea location in Cancun with everyone else. Franz, the North America Zone Water Equipment Maintenance Specialist was there during my visit. While Sailing was closed, he kept the Sailing Team busy with constant maintenance on the equipment. Everyone worked hard to keep the eight Hobie Waves looking good and working well. If your feet are sensitive to walking on rocks and stones, bring water shoes. There are a few SUP’s and many Kayaks to use. The Kid’s Club is there primarily in the morning. Hobie 16’s and Windsurfing is no longer being offered as a Water Sport. However, Franz is introducing a new Hand-Held Sailing “Wing” to the North America Zone to replace Windsurfing and mimic Kite-Boarding. He and his Wife Maria made it look very easy. HaHa! Thanks Guys for the Special Award I received during the Sports Awards Ceremony. 2.CIRCUS - While I do not participate, my Buddy is an extremely serious and talented Flyer. Our first stop after my Surprise Arrival was to the Circus Rig located on its own island next to the Amatista (1000) building. Circus Team GO’s Edgar, Alejandro, Olga, Alex, and Paulo are even more serious and talented – AND THE NICEST PEOPLE. With chiseled bodies as well! The Team arranged a fun-filled Circus Banquet my first Dinner – with well over 25 people in attendance. Make sure to visit the Circus Rig between 4-6:00 PM to watch GM’s testing their skills - especially the totally fearless children. 3.TENNIS - While I also do not play Tennis (I come from an intimidating Professional Tennis Family) - I do know the Great Cancun Tennis Pros Javi (a Legend in Cancun), Mario, and Noel – primarily through both my Buddies who are serious Tennis players. After a wonderful conversation with Mario during a break from his grueling Daily Lessons and Tournament Schedule – decided to host them for a few of my Taco Arte and La Estancia Restaurant Dinners. Both my Buddies were ecstatic to be dining with their heroes! Ever eat crickets for an Appetizer and three Desserts? We did at Taco Arte! The conversations were so hysterical that we closed both Restaurants. From my understanding, all Cancun Tennis Pros are skilled Instructors – and have many repeat GM’s coming specifically for their training. The UltimateCompliment. Ambiance: There is a wonderful Mexican infused Club Med Vibe wherever you go in the Village. Everyone has a smile on their faces – even the plentiful Iguanas! I expected this from Guests on holiday – but, all of the Management and GO/GE Staff did as well. SIMPLY PUT – SUCH NICE PEOPLE! I am known to search out and find the best “Secret” locations in any Club Med Village I visit: 1.The Cancun “Riviera” - The long paver walkway from Reception to the Topachio (3000) Building along the Beach reminds me of the beautiful Promenades along the French, Spanish, Italian, and Croatian Riviera(s). Yes, I have been to all – I AM BLESSED! In Cancun I always make it a point to stroll the entire length. In Europe, people are wearing their finest; In Cancun I am usually in a wet bathing suit and T-shirt. 2. Best Sunset Location – The Bar at the Taco Arte Annex Restaurant. Enjoy a perfect Sunset over the Caribbean Sea while sipping on your favorite cocktail. My favorite is a hot Cappuccino with two shots of Baileys for sweetness. OK – three shots! Don’t forget your camera! If you cannot make it to Taco Arte – you can view the Sunset from the Main Pool Deck. GOLD MEDAL AWARDS TO TRULY EXCEPTIONAL Management/GO/GE Team Members : 1.Carlos Sanchez (Planning Manager) - an old friend from Club Med Turkoise (2018/2019) who was my main Village Contact before my arrival, and placed me IN THE BEST ROOMS IMAGINABLE! 2.Olivia Godding (Guest Relations) - was MAGICAL in solving challenges, fulfilling requests “above and beyond the call of duty,” always had a big smile on her face, and became a life-long friend along the way. And, she gave me the best nickname ever! HONORABLE MENTION for TRULY EXCEPTIONAL Management/GO/GE Team Members (not in order of importance – sure hope I did not miss anyone!) : 1. Olivier (CDV) 2. Ismael (Sports Manager) 3. Sailing Team - Nissam (Mgr.) Antonio/Tony, John, Roy (who was also amazing in Circus), and Pablo 4. Tennis Pros – Javi, Mario, and Noel 5. Circus Team - Edgar, Alejandro, Olga, Alex, and Paulo 6. Taco Arte Restaurant Manager and Hostess - Pavel 7. La Estancia Restaurant Manager and Hostes – Sorry, but I forget their names. 8. Boutique Team – Jennifer and Paul 9. Momo (Leisure Expert Mgr.) 10. Nate (Entertainment Mgr.) – we go a back a long way from CM Turkoise – as recently as four weeks ago! 11. Ramon (F&B Mgr.) 12. Engineering/Maintenance GE Team 13. AND ALL THE CHEFS PREPARING THE ENDLESS DELICIOUS MEALS! Chris Keeley/”Hammer” (North America Zone Human Resources Manager) – Please take note of all the names above. I hope you will consider reassigning all of Cancun’s EXCEPTIONAL Staff to the Club Med Turkoise Village very soon! In Conclusion: I HAD AN AMAZING CANCUN HOLIDAY! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO MADE THIS HAPPEN. While visiting Club Med Villages – I work to make the Team there as happy as they always make me. Based on the Nickname I was given – MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
Be the first to ReplySay Hi to Dolly at the front & Enjoy a Fantastic Resort!
Club Med was one of the highlights of our trip to Cancun. We called in and asked for day passes and they were extremely helpful over the phone. Dolly was a pleasure to work with and treated us like family, so much that we decided to go an extra day due to her hospitality and also the overall value we got from Club Med. We used the gym and it was excellent - especially for a resort gym. The drinks were great & the semi private beach was one of the best in all Cancun that we went to. Next time we are in Cancun, we will be back.
Be the first to ReplyThe people and environment were awesome
I had a great time and The teens club was really fun because of the GO (théo, youyou, Elsa) we played lots of games, and I made new friends through the teens club. also the food and restaurants were great. I love the view from my room and how clean it was.
Be the first to ReplyGreat vacation in a well managed resort
We spent 12 nights for our family vacation at Club Med Cancun. Overall it was an excellent experience. We did lots of sailing as well as some snorkeling. It was great. Food is good to very good and there are 2 restaurants (3 if you include the steakhouse where reservations are required). Our rooms were spacious and clean. Wifi (the basic one; we felt no need to update to premium Wifi) works well almost everywhere in the resort. We had a category 1 hurricane during our stay and the club was essentially shut down for about 1.5 day. Despite this, we felt that everything was done to smoothen the impact on guests (and thanks to the Hurricane Protection Plan which is included by default in all reservations we got a credit of 2 nights for future stays; we did not ask for everything here and Management offered it). Food was served during the Hurricane and restaurants reopened quickly as well as all other activities. Overall, management did great here and not much more could have been done we thought. Special thanks to Marceval at the sailing center. Water in the sea was extremely warm (29 Celsius!) and same in the pool. Overall excellent stay, very relaxing and lots of attention is given to ensure that Covid does not propagate (masks required in restaurants, hand désinfectant almost everywhere). Good ambiance in the resort. So congrats to all and thanks for the great vacation.
Be the first to ReplyIt's about the people
We have been going to ClubMed Cancun since 2003. It's easy to get to from Denver, has amazing staff, and the location, activities and people are fabulous. You can be as busy or as lazy as you want - activities like tennis, pickle ball, bocce, trapeze, yoga, HIIT, water aerobics, beach volleyball, sailing, snorkeling, etc. are available or you can choose to hang out in your cabana all day. We always stay in Jade, which is the 5-trident space with a private bar and infinity pool. The people at Jade are why we keep coming back. Eliseo, Daniel, Roman, Erasmo, Ademir, Efrain and Jaime man the bar and pool. They are all thoughtful, nice and fun people who are the main reason we choose to come back to ClubMed every year rather than go to a random hotel. They make us feel special, like I'm meeting up with old friends. If you are staying at ClubMed and decide to get a massage, ask for Rosa. The spa at ClubMed does a great job - pedicures, massages, facials, body scrubs - it runs the gamut. We chose to get massages and split them up between the beach and in the spa. ClubMed Cancun is where we go every year and it feels like coming home. But a lot warmer than Denver in Feb/Mar and we never have to cook. :)
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing 2nd family trip
Food quality down, dining tables not being washed off or dishes removed in timely manner, to many families that had strollers pushing their way thru everything ( Me 1st), No Mini golf clubs available - no one was playing they have 8 clubs, in the bushes or someone's room. No towels last 2 days. No Grease show, hard to get into gymastics time frame, to many kids, language issues with many staff members. Aquamarine rooms great for families, but grandparent beware tubs are very high to get into, one grab bar at end of tub, slippery, dangerous with knee /hip issues. Yes, sea weed grass has hit their shores, shutting down water sports and beach activities. They are working very hard to clean up a difficult problem, not of their making. Many staff are very talented and hard working many hours. CM could do better & has done is past.
Be the first to ReplyFun family vacation.
Facility and staff are outstanding, the people we dealt with where top notch. Kids club has an outstanding staff, they handled our difficult child VERY well. We are looking forward to our next vacation.
Be the first to Reply8 Days at Club Med Cancun - great family experience
This was our first time to this Club Med, and the entire family had a great experience. It was recommended by our friends who have been to the Club Med in Florida before as well, and their recommendation for the Cancun location was spot on. Our kids were well taken care of by their G.O. Marina. My wife had only great things to say about the fitness classes that were provided by Charlotte. We had a great time doing tennis group lessons with Mario, Javier, and Joel. The food was well prepared and good quality at the restaurants and the buffet provided a diverse selection everyday for the 8 days we were there. We were originally hesitant of all inclusive resorts, but now having experienced this Club Med location and what it can offer for all family members, we will surely come back to this and other locations worldwide. Thanks for the great time and the G.O’s who support it! I’ve read some of the negative reviews and I feel for those who had frustrating experiences, but from what I can tell, they do try their best to help out guests should you run into an issue; our friends had an issue with their room, but the resort figured out a solution for them which ended up being a win-win solution. We all just need to be patient and understanding with each other. Everyone there works so hard and goes out of their way to be pleasant with you to ensure you and your entire family will have a memorable experience. The shows are entertaining and performed by the G.O’s who already spent the entire day taking care of your kids, or teaching you a class in the hot weather. If you’re looking for top shelf drinks and that’s your priority, maybe you should go to an adult only resort which by the way don’t nearly have the same amount of activities offered by Club Med. This Club Med location is all about having an overall great family experience. Proof is in the pudding with two happy kids, and my wife and I actually getting some R&R and activities in to boot both individually and as a family.
Be the first to ReplyRun-down resort, terribly managed
It's a run-down resort badly managed. It's not my first time and I'm not coming back until the managing team is fired. We learned that the team obtain bonuses if they do not spend the budget allocated??? What is that? Everything is in bad shape; the quality of drinks is sub-par (even Cuba, with an embargo has better drinks). You charge: spend! I tried to scuba-dive: it's 40% more expensive than anywhere in the area (and the world). I'm still waiting for an apology from the disastrous managing team: Club Med is basically a HOTEL. And I do not understand that in 2023, a hotel DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO HANDLE DOORS AND KEYS. Saturday: the room didn't open. Was "fixed". Sunday? My wife got locked out; luckily my son was inside; "fixed" again; it was "the battery" both days. Same story on Monday! Tuesday I spent over one hour, soaking wet outside waiting for my door to be fixed. The "master key" did not open the door... But of course, the room was locked at 11:00 the checkout day. Terrible management; the working people are great (the door problem was not reported by the vice-manager, but was addressed when a porter called someone). The shows are incredibly bad; they have one person that knows more or less what to do (a dancer/coreographer), a nice dancer and the GOs put their best effort. But another place with limited resources (and the consequent results).
