Highly worth trying!
Excellent food! Ambience was very nice and everything was made quickly. Food has some spice so be ready! Some of the best fried rice! Will be back

This is one of the best Chinese restaurants ever! I would travel back to NY only to eat here again, honestly. You must pre-book, otherwise you won't have a table, but absolutely worth it. The atmosphere is also nice in the restaurant and staff are very welcoming and friendly. They are clearly having fresh produce because it's constantly busy and they also do lots of take away. Just wish I could've eaten more as I wanted to taste everything on their varied menu.
Be the first to ReplyConsidered good Sichuan food even by Sichuanese standards
It was authentic Sichuan food. A wide range of options for both vegetarians and meat lovers. Price is not cheap but not prohibitively expensive, either. Great place to chat with friends over a delicious and spicy meal! The only thing is that the restaurant is so popular and there is always a long queue. Not sure if reservations are available. If yes, maybe you want to book a table in advance. We decided to dine there last minute and ended up waiting for 2.5hrs for a table of four. Food made it worth it though. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, top service!
Great original Szechuan food- extraordinary good service. Very popular with younger local crowd. Nice setting. Highly recommend the lobster.
Be the first to ReplyGet the house chicken
I first had this restaurant in Flushing and thought it was amazing. The Manhattan one is almost as good but not quite. That said, this place is always packed and busy. The house chicken dish is a must. It's served cold and it's addicting. The eggplant is well done. The pork belly is typically delicious but it was bit too fatty this time. They could've used a bit leaner pieces. The mapo tofu is spicy. It was perfect for me but too spicy for my girlfriend. Overall I think the food here is delicious and the staff is quick and attentive. Unless you want to make your way into Queens, this spot hits the spot. Just get a bowl of rice a chow down.

We really enjoyed the food here. Delicious all the way. Quality!! Great service that I love. Come here asap.
Be the first to ReplyNew Chinese restaurant in East Village with bustling atmosphere
In design this place seems to be lifted straight from somewhere in China, the decor is elaborately full of recognizable Chinese elements - with a small raised section in front next to a koi pond (although didn't see any fish in it, too dark maybe), the dining room with bamboo sectioned booth seats and woodwork panels everywhere including on the ceiling. Place is super busy, no reservations accepted so have to just go - note all parties have to be complete to be seated. If there is a line, you'll get a number and then be seated in that order when everyone in your party arrive. We got there about 6 and luckily were seated promptly in a booth seat - the last empty one available so didn't have to wait. Diners here this evening seemed almost all Asian, majority Chinese and young (average age around 30). Waitstaff also prefer speaking Chinese (when I called earlier the phone was answered in Chinese as well). But English is also spoken here so rest assured all are welcome even though non Asians are definitely in the minority. The signature dishes seem to be the spicy soupy boiled fish or meat which have somehow have gotten very popular lately. Menu has photos which makes ordering easier although the photo quality could use some improvement. We tried the spiced beef (cold appetizer), pepper fried chicken, Chinese watercress and spicy whole fish - the beef was delicious, the chicken pieces a bit too small and seemed to be mostly pepper, and same for the fish which was a bit too oily - it was like the style is for the condiments to completely smother the dish itself. That said, it was a pretty fun dining experience - amazing to have a restaurant like this in St Marks Pl and the atmosphere alone is worth checking out.
Be the first to ReplyAuthentic Chinese food in the East Village
WOW! My friends and I have traveled quite a bit in China, and this restaurant now tops the list for "most authentic Chinese food in New York !" ( I have not yet been to the Flushing location, so can't comment on that.) The food is amazing and authentic, which you can assume once you see that almost all of the customers are Chinese! The decor is very thoughtfully done, and reminiscent of restaurants in China. The staff were friendly and helpful, which is a good thing, since, yes, both times I went I wound up waiting an hour for a table - but it is so good, I'm going back!

The waiter steered me away from this pork dish I was eyeing, and suggested the corn dusted with egg yolk instead. I fell for it. After tax and tip, it was $17 for a pile of canned corn that looked like it was supposed to feed a vegetarian dog. I also got the sweet rice wine soup as dessert - a favorite growing up. This was the worst sweet rice wine soup I've ever had! It was watered down so much that it barely had any taste. I paid for microwaved water.
Be the first to ReplyTasty, authentic, crowded & worth the wait
We waited over an hour for a table for 5 on a Monday night and it was worth it! Smaller groups did get in more quickly. Super spicy available but there were also some mild - and delicious- dishes available. This food is like what we ate in China.

Totally legit yummy food, spicy dishes or not. The spice in every dish is totally balanced. The food was not greasy and heavy at all. Service was precise and efficient. Canโt wait for the next meal there.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent dining experience
There was quite a wait to get a table, but it was worth it. Buzzy, cool atmosphere with an interesting crowd (and I mean crowd) of Asian customers, locals and not a tourist in sight. My friend and I shared a few dishes, the highlight of which was the spicy lobster. He had some trouble with the spice level initially, but got used to it. I would definitely return to try some of the other items on the menu.
Be the first to ReplyChilli-party!
The Szechuan Kitchen is famous for its use of spices, and no exception to be Found at This restaurant! It's use of chilli is impressive, and almost dangerous if you Are heading for it all (dont!), but careful pick's into the different very tasty dishes gives you other experienced too... other spices to detect and They Are gentle... its like a journey.. Well prepared Szechuan food, Maybe the old style, but very well done and huge portions. If anything to be critical about, the staff was not very Drilled in What glutenfree means... and their language skills made This small oral exchange into almost a comedy (Nice style)... Worth a visit!
