Japanese places are a dime a dozen in singapore nowadays but it's hard to find a reasonably priced sushi sashimi place which offers quality at affordable prices. That's the gap Sushi Jin is hoping to fill. I like the super fresh sashimi here. The lunch sets are good value for money although the portions are modest. My little Hokkaido don was topped with a reasonable portion of hotate, a small but not disgracefully tiny portion of good uni and ikura as well as herring row. It came with a small salad and matcha ice cream. Good value for $35. A nice light meal for the girls, but if you're a big eater you might wanna consider topping up with something extra from the a la carte menu. Dinner is slightly pricier but not so much that you will get sticker shock. I got wagyu teppanyaki which jacked up the bill to twice the amount but was worth every unctuous bite. Budget about $80 a head for dinner and you'll do fine. The ambience also strikes the right note. Classy enough but not so high end that you think you'll need stilettos and tai tai hair to get in. Am going to patronise this place more cos I only have one go to Jap restaurant at the moment. And I'm going to enjoy this quiet little corner before other people discover it!
